How do I update from gb to ics when I got custom kernel and custom rom because my friend rooted my fone and I am new to this stuff. And I cant update. And I want a sense 4.0 rom. Please someone help me

You need clockwork mod installed. Then you can flash.
Follow lynts guide in the development section except you can flash any Rom you want not just cyanogenmod.
Are you s-off or just rooted?

What phone do you have? If your signature is correct and you really have a Xperia Arc S, we won't be able to help you
If you have an incredible S, can you turn the phone off, then turn it on by holding power and volume down at the same time
It should take you to a white screen, and post what it says at the top
Should say something s-on or something s-off
That would give us a good start, because flashing roms with s on or s off is a bit different
Then use the volume buttons to highlight reboot and select it using power to get back into android

Download an ICS ROM! (and a radio). Not a big stuff! NIK Projekt X is great!
AOSP much better than Sense 4.0! But not so beatifull and less stable!
So give a try IceColdSandwich 8.2)

Still have the Nightly on my Laptop, and my backup of it also.

Trust me I've switched to ICS and jb but I keep coming back to 146. I just can't trade ui for broken elements and lag. 146 has no bugs that I can find and everything works as it should combined with simplicity, customization and the functionality of cm I can't stay away. Since the last time I switched I've been waiting for cm10 but it looks like we're not going to get it, so my incs will be locked into 146 until I purchase a new phone. I still can't find a reason to replace this device.

What is everyone using for their ROM's?
I tried upgrading to JB but had major battery drain issues. I am currently using Virtuous Inquisition. I really enjoy using it.
WCX rom until someone solves the ril issue to get Sense 4.0.

flash kozmike kernel (with interactive and deadline choosed while flashing kernel) it is the there just google search it - "HoNest_Installer_v1.2.zip" and "boot for honest.rar". And in venom tweaks - Misc (disable fast dormancy)

PAC v19.0 ..best experience with this hardware yet. Couple minor bugs but overall really great! Not experiencing the same battery issues everyone else seems to be tho..the battery life of this phone has always been just shy of average, but really what more can we ask of a stock battery, powering this much hardware..? I find non-sense roms get much better battery life than those with sense..but that's about all. Its just a power hungry gadget.

I loved ICS too but..a lot of good games just fc on ICS and that will forever be my deal breaker..just try playing eternal legacy..great game btw..

Hey Guys,
i am writing from germany. The only provider who sells the Velocity is Vodafone and this provider doens't update to JB
So i want to root and unlook the bootloader. My question is: Does anybody now where I can get Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS with HTC Sense 3.6 for my phone (or higher) and does it work in germany? Thats my first choice but when i cant get the official update to ice cream i intend to use a custom rom. Does anybody now a custom rom thats works with the 3G in germany?

I highly suggest you perform the S-OFF procedure in the vivid dev thread, and then you can super-cid your velocity and use any of the posted ROMs and ruu's in this forum. good luck!

ok so i ported ARHD from the HTC Sensation to the HTC Vivid. it boots but gets stuck at the boot animation and it will not let me logcat AT ALL. i tried everything. could someone look in it to see whats wrong.?

i used a deodexed, but other than that stock, ruu base.
