Hi,
My camera will not load properly , the app launches and I can see images through the camera, but none of the buttons load and so I cannot take an image!
as there is no dedicated camera button I am left with a fancy view finder!
can anyone help me with the stock camera APK? or some help on how I restore the camera function without reloading the stock ROM again please?
thanks
bit more detail-
I installed Camera360. and it would appear that once I uninstalled that app it screwed up the native camera app. If i put Camera360 back on, that works with No issues but the native app still does not work.
Camera 360 does not scale correctly to the screen which is quote annoying

Hi community,
I've got a strange problem with most of the 3rd party camera apps on my Ace (GT-S5830i)
When using the default camera app everything worls just fine but when trying to use a different one like camera 360 or Pro HDR camera the preview image is turned by 90 degrees and the image looks somewhat stretched. The results look normal though (if I manage to turn the camera the right way around).
So the question is, has anyone else had the same Problem? Is there a solve for this?
Custom ROMs are no option because there are no working ones for the GT-S5830 with the I behind ;-)
One thing I just recognized: The Apps barcode scanner and barcoo are working properly.
Yes, i have the same problem, my celphone is the s5830m, this phone have a lots of problems, the games 3d dont work in this model. Sorry for my english
Me too
Same here GT-S5830C... some1 can help us?? Maybe is some secret configuration.. lol :cyclops:
From reading this forum, good work is being put in to achieving a well functioning camera on TouchPad with Android. But on which TP configurations do some camera apps currently work okay?
I am using TP with JB 4.1.2 by Oat and stock camera as suggested by Sstar (post #118 in the thread for this ROM in the TP Development forum). Thanks to both. The stock camera can take photos. Video works in Skype. But the stock camera messes up video recordings and the camera does not work in stop-motion apps, which is my biggest issue. I tried three stop-motion apps and they could not detect the camera or showed a black screen.
Any suggestions of configurations well suited for camera apps?
If you tell me or give me a link for the app or apps you're having a problem with I will have a play and try it with the JB+ camera that I bought to see if that makes a difference .
Regards
Pardon my delayed followup. Apps tested:
Stop-Motion Lite
Stop Motion Maker Komaori Lite
Lapse It Lite
Any help much appreciated...

Tried all three and I can't get them to work either .
Yesterday I rooted my phone and after a day of use everything seems normal except that I've just noticed that I've only got two modes in the camera app. Where there were previously several options in the camera mode selections (the square icon with four circles) screen including Zoe and Video, now I only have two Camera and Selfie.
Also, when I take a picture the app crashes immediately after taking a picture. The little icon with the last picture taken that takes you to your photos is also missing. The google camera app works perfectly as far as I have tested, but I really like the zoe camera.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?
Fix it, somehow
I haven't extensively tested this, but in case someone else makes their way to this thread with a similar problem I have found a solution.
I installed the apk of the HTC Camera app. Someone in the Verizon M8 forum posted it here:
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52201960&postcount=5
Picked up a Moto X Play for family in Canada.
The Camera interface isn't the most intuitive, was hoping to use Google Camera but every app I seem to use seems to crash when switching from camera to camcorder mode, currently on the March security update for Marshmallow.
Does anyone else have this issue or can recommend a decent camera app as an alternative?
Try Open Camera or Manual Camera.
Yeah open camera is a nice one.The stock camera app is working normal on mine.Try to clean cache of the stock camera app.
Opencamera crashes.
Google Camera 2.7 is actually working, so the problem is with version 3.1 and later... Guess that's why they pulled it from the Play Store
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-2-7-008-release/
When switching from camera to video camcorder mode, it says 'Can't connect to camera' and crashes the app
Running version 5.1 and its working.Stock mm 6..0.1.
I should try a factory reset if i was you.

Sorry 5.1 of which application would you be referring to?
Google Camera only goes up to 3.2 and Open Camera 1.28.1

Sorry i was mistaken with motorola stock camera app. Maybe google camera is crashing because it cant find a gyroscope sensor which is needed for the 360 pictures.
Looking for a camera app as well; stock Motorola camera is too slow on launch in taking pictures or I itializing video. I've tried clearing data and cache. Google Camera works besides camcorder mode.
I used Open Camera. After installation, the first time I have it hung. Resetting and poked in the settings. In the "interface settings" disabled "show slope" and "show the direction of the compass." As long as such no longer hangs.
Hey guys,
Anyone know why my video recording feature isn't working?
Can take photos fine. Just any of the camera recording stuff just says failed.
Thanks
FANTA
You have to factory wipe, not sign in to anything when you're first setting up your phone, no Fingerprint, no Google, nothing and when you make it to the home screen, then you can sign in and everything will work as intended. Or use Google camera. Just easier to wipe though.

After skipping all the setup like this, how do you then restore all your apps, settings, etc from another device like you can during setup?
Actually this the problem with Google app... Just uninstall update of Google app to factory version... Check your video recording... If it works then install previous version of google app.. 2 or 3 version before is a good one i think. Recheck your video recording after.

Nope it's actually caused by the voice search function. Just disable voice match setting and video recording works again.
If you want to keep voice recognition on, you can also just install a 3rd party app like open camera.
Same issue, installed OpenCamera and everything works fine. Stock camera app has a big red capture button that when pressed causes a video recording error.

Do you retain features like slo-mo video, portrait mode, etc with OpenCamera (or any 3rd party camera)?
All features in OpenCamera work as far as I can tell.

I just tested OpenCamera, and you lose a lot of functionality by using it instead of the stock camera. To name a few things you lose:
1. You lose the wide angle camera
2. You lose the 48mp option on standard camera
3. You lose slo-mo video
4. You lose portrait photo mode
I tried installing the Pixelmaster apk from Open APK and the install fails. My guess is that is has something to do with the microphone. Still troubleshooting..
install the original ROM?
