Hi,
If using the original earbuds, there's also a rocker-button on one of the leads...

You could always give Voodoo Control a try, assuming you are rooted.
Be careful with it though as the dev says '...this AMP is a beast' !

HD7 : Volume Speaker TERRIBLE

Hi, is there a way to increase the ring volume of the HD7? My wife has her volume set to 10, and when it rings in her purse she can barely hear it. I've tried downloading the HTC app with the "increase volume when in purse" setting but this seems not to help at all. In fact, even at 10 all the sound on this phone is quite low, for example the Netflix app can only be heard in a dead quiet room. For comparison, ithe "10" setting on her HD7 seems to be about the same as "2" on my Dash 3G... All help appreciated. Thank you,

But yes, it seems the speaker is quite low. I think some people think it's a software fault, and it will be fixed in the update. I don't know personally, mine seems loud enough

You keep saying she has it set on 10 when I can set mine to 30? Maybe that's why her 10 seems like a 2 to you?
On the lock screen, up volume up. You should see the volume indicator in the top left. Crank it to 30. Should be plenty loud.
when you are talking on the phone the volume only goes up to 10. however, when you are at the homescreen you can put the volume up to 30.
"In-Call" volume controls the volume of the ear-piece speaker located in the grill at the top of the phone, and yes it will only go up to 10.
The volume which goes up to 30 which you can adjust whilst on the home screen controls the external Speaker located on the back of the phone (which is used for ringtones, etc.)
They are 2 completely seperate speakers so in turn have their own volume controls.

[Q] Reducing minimum headphone volume for Droid Bionic

My Bionic's lowest volume using headphones in calls is, unfortunately, still incredibly loud. I've used the volume rocker while in call to bring it down to its lowest setting, but that's still pretty loud.
Is there any software which can affect the call volume? An alternative dialer? I'm rooted, for what it's worth. I don't want to switch to a different type of headphones, but I can't really take this volume.
Thanks!

I searched the market and there are some apps the control volume, but they do not mention the range. They are free. So you might try them. Search "Volume Control".
I know you don't want to switch headphones, but here are in "in-line" volume controllers that you can add under your earphone plug.
Good luck
Unfortunately, all of the volume control apps that I've tried (by searching volume control as you suggested( have only been able to adjust in the same 1-7 point scale as the rockers. Really, I need a volume app which allows me to select a volume between 0 (silent) and 1 (the rocker's quietest setting.
I may look into on-headphone attenuators, but that's trouble too because not all calls are so loud.
That said, thanks for the response!

maybe...hold the phone farther away from your ear?
Wilbur,
I'm already hanging the earbuds from my ears pointing away to get down to a reasonable level with some conference call services. Sadly, it's a bit more complex than that
I too have been looking for this...Ive tried about 4 or 5 apps today. None of them well allow a setting between 0 and 1.
I am using a single mono AD2P headset, and trying to get the volume of the music a little lower. I just want it to be there kind of as background music, but it is too loud.
I've just gotten off the phone with a second-level tech at Verizon who said that variable call volume will be addressed in the next Bionic software update. He also said that it's currently in beta, and will drop Mid-November. Sorry to bump my own thread, but this is the first time I've gotten anybody at Moto or VZW to admit this was even a problem.

[Q] Galaxy Note's In-Call Volume is Too Low!!!

Hi All,
I hope all is well and you are enjoying the holiday break.
I'm having trouble with my new SGN: the "In-Call" volume is too low.
When I'm on a street or in the car (anywhere with background noise), I can barely hear what a person says when I'm talking on my phone. Headset/Speaker volume is fine and they can also be further boosted by using Volume+ app from the Market but I cannot seem to find any cure for the low In-Call volume.
I did some research online and I noticed someone has posted a trick to solve similar challenge for the SGII by using Samsung Service Code (See below)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Dialer *#*#197328640#*#*
[5] AUDIO
[1] HANDSET
[1] VOLUME
[1] SRC Speech RX Volume
[5]5_lvl : 88
Menu -> Key Input
Change to any number greater than 88 (Max:100)
OK
Press back to save.
Default values:
0_lvl: 63
1_lvl: 68
2_lvl: 73
3_lvl: 78
4_lvl: 83
5_lvl: 88
---------------------------------------------------
** I tried the same trick on SGN which I purchased from Amazon but nothing happens when I select option, [5] AUDIO. It will not drill down to next set of sub-menus even if I key in the "5" from the main menu.
Please let me know if anyone else are also experiencing the similar challenges. Thank you very much for your time.
Unfortunately the sound is a big issue here.
Supercurio is working on an app to increase the vol. THis will need root and will work only on with the headset. THis app should be released in the next few days.
I was looking for a solution to increase the speaker volume ( Not quality ) as the speaker sound is low for voice calls.
There is an app called volume+ in the market. You can try it for the speaker.
Hi drgopoos,
Are you saying that you also felt In-Call Volume for SGN is way too low? I am just curious if I have a faulty unit or this issue is concerning all SGN units in general. I did try the Volume+ App from the market and it does boost the volume for Headset and External Speaker but it does nothing to the "In-Call" Volume.
-JC
Try moving the entire phone lower onto your ear. I know it sounds obvious, but the speaker is quite high on the device and my volume was low because the speaker was too high on my ear. Once I lowered it (feels awkward) it was much louder.
Anyone else felt the volume on your SGN is way too low or am I going deaf...
Can you recommend a way to remedy this problem?
I know how frustrating it can be when the earpiece speaker isn't loud enough. My nexus one had low in-call volume and it was frustrating. My Note, however, has very high in-call volume on the earpiece speaker! I have to turn it down a few notches for comfort. I'd say you might have a defective unit, or maybe you're holding it wrong like that other guy suggested.
If you're talking about the external speaker being too quiet, the one for speaker phone calls, playing music, ring tunes/notifications, etc., then I agree. I hope Supercurio's working on a fix for that. I'm currently using an equalizer from the market that allows me to turn all frequencies up a few decibels, but at the expense of sound quality.
Mine is loud enough...

The volume is ok with ear peice when i am inside the house and silent.
However outside , when i am walking in the street its to difficult.
Both indoors and outdoors my Note is one of the loudest phones i owned. I can't complain about its ear piece. In fact, i have to lower it 2-3 clicks to be comfortable
Yeah...I got the same problem also...
Indoor works great! but outdoor...oh man....
Earpiece in call volume is good. But, speakerphone in call volume is horrendous! I've tried volume+, equalizer, volume boost, AnEq Equalizer and nothing works! Very sad.
I can't access audio menu [5]. Always loopa me back to main menu. Doea anybody know how to fix that?

Actually, my earpiece volume is quite good. Just a suggestion, not meant to insult you, but since the phone is so large could it be possible you are not placing the earpiece properly over your ear?
For those with poor speakerphone volume the ONLY (I've tried at least 4-5) application I found that worked is Audioboost SGS2 (It's 2.5USD in the market) but that's the only one that truly raises EVERY volume. Be careful though I think there might be potential to damage your speakerphone if you raise it too high. I have it right around 88 (highest is 93)
Hope this helps!
My European version of SGN is about the loudest phone i ever had, speaker phone wise. It's also crystal clear! maybe because i was coming from Desire HD, which had kinda awful sound

I want to retract my last statement. Audioboost does raise the in-call speakerphone volume, BUT it effectively ruins everything else. It creates ALOT of static, even at middle volume levels. It was so bad I had to revert the settings and uninstall it. The search continues...

Is There Any Way To Turn Down Speakers Below Minimum Volume?

The speakers are way too loud even on lowest volume when I am alone in my room. I don't need the speaker to be blasting at me when im playing Angry Birds or something. Anything I can do about that?
Update: Trying out an app called Fine Volume Control 2. It was the only thing I could find that did what I want, unfortunately, it seems extremely inconsistent and buggy.
Update 2: Uninstalled Fine Volume Control 2, wayyy too inconsistent and buggy. Still looking for any suggestions.

try volume control apps, like volume control +
Having the same problem. Feels a bit loud at the lowest volume

I cant guarantee this works as I am STILL waiting for my HTC One to arrive here in Australia but when I had my aweful Galaxy Nexus I used a app called Volume+ to turn the volume up as it was so low you couldn't hear it ring. I remember the app also allowed you to turn the volume down. Worth a try.
Volume+ doesn't work for JB so useless for me.
Volume Control+ seems to be just an app with all the volume control sliders in one place which is useless.
There's a update to fix the volume to make it lower don't know if it's out yet it is if you got a custom rom

Ugh... I wished they'd release their fixes already. There is this volume thing and also the 3 dot menu thing.
Bump. Still looking for a solution.
I remember reading about the Music Volume EQ app (on, I believe, Phandroid?) and people said they had some luck with messing with the equalizer settings on this app to turn the volume down for the One. Haven't tried it for myself though.
Yes, if you use the Music Volume EQ app and turn all the equalizer settings down to -15 and the volume down to 1, the speakers are much more quiet!
Yep, using Music Volume EQ for now. Still not as good as having a integrated option, but can live with it for now.
They should of made a slider volume instead of in steps!

Can anyone exploit a bluetooth volume glitch on the xperia T stock firmware

I am wondering if anyone can exploit a glitch in the bluetooth audio volume on the xperia T
As most of you will no doubt be aware the bluetooth volume is rediculously low on the xperia T, i believe its low on most android phones?
However I have found that with all of volumes at max, If I go to setting, sound, volumes then set the ringer volume to max the volume to the bluetooth headphone literally doubles
Is this something that can be exploited by someone who is in the know?
I am desperate to get more volume from my phone via bluetooth as my headphones are very quiet in comparison to my old nokia n8, but more importantly music is rediculously low when connecting my phone to my car via bluetooth, its such a shame as both worked so well with my old nokia I would love to find a way around this problem.
Thank You

Try installing xposed framework and finding the mod that allows the advanced volume control. It seperates all the volume streams so blutooth volume is not linked to other volumes.
Search for it in google or the themes and app section

When connected via bluetooth I get the bluetooth volume adjuster on my phone when I use the buttons, however this is already at max, with all volumes at max it is still very low, however just pressing the ringtone volume, even without adjusting it as it is already at max, it plays my ringtone for a second thn suddenly I have twice the volume, despite all volumes including bluetoth were already at max, suddenly I have plenty of volume?

This app does a nice job of setting media volume to max and works superb, however it hasn't solved the issue, even with all volumes set to max the Bluetooth volume is still very low, however just touching the notification or alarm volume slider and letting it beep, then doubles the output.
I have just flashed .145 Rom and kernel hoping it would fix the issue, but it still persists. Does it not do the same for everyone else?
I.e start walkman with Bluetooth headphones or car connected, start playing music, then go to settings, sounds, volumes and adjust the alarm volume, then the volume has Bluetooth output volume has suddenly doubled?
It didn't do it on custom Roms for me just sock ones, custom ones stayed quiet no matter what
"just touching the notification or alarm volume slider and letting it beep, then doubles the output."
THANK YOU! Fast little work around to get true max volume on my Xperia T. Can't believe Sony hasn't gotten this sorted after many updates. I can finally use my Jambox again haha!
The low bluetooth volume is a known issue on JB FW's for Xperia T. (read somewhere its related to actual JB rather than Sony only).
My fix for it is..connect BT headphone.. take a quick call.. just dial something for even a second n end...n volume increases on BT..
