I am looking for some finger gesture software that I can use on my Touch pro. I have lost my 3rd stylus (waiting for more to be delivered) and I would like to be able to use the pocketpc in a more user friendly way.
Any suggestions?
Put the stylus back into the phone when you're done with it!

Isn't the stylus magnetic...and come with a spare?
You know its funny the stylus on the screen is much more accurate on my titan, however, on my touch pro I feel like the stylus is just for soft resets. It doesn't work well on the tpro for some reason. But the finger navigation is so much more exceptional on the tpro that it isn't really necessary.
Before you think i'm crazy let me explain why i want it.
I want to be able to hold my nook however i want with out the fear i might turn the page by accident. Where it my be my fingers touching the screen, the sheets or cookie crumbs.
So, im looking for an app that will disable the touch screen and can be linked to a hardware button(any turn page button, probably the left ones as i use those the least) whether by script of done by the app itself.
CoolReader have a possibility to disable touchscreen while reading. It can be assigned to some of the page-turning buttons - press a button, double press or long press.
I tried some tool called Screen tools 1 and i manage to "disable" touch but it would disable the buttons as well. I'll try coolreader, thanks for the tip
Is it possible to only use the s pen as a touch device. I dont want to be able to use my fingers to use the phone just the stylus. I would like it so its easy to change like in a widget even if its possible.

Man why would you get a $600 touch screen phone and don't want to use touch ? Crazy.

Pressing the spen button and making a up gesture with the pen you open the menu. Button and swipe left emulate the back key.

Its just so I can write memos draw stuff without the phone recognising my hand as another touch

Anyone ever heard of a way to remap the button on the S Pen?
I rarely use the Air menu in fact I actually disabled it in options.
I do however use the pen in my hand probably 95% of the time, I love the precision as well as having the ability to hover over something without clicking it like a mouse can.
My only thought is that it would be amazing to be able to press the button and have it register as a tap at the current location instead of having it pop up in the air menu.
I also would love to be able to modify that SVG Circle that Prince the current pin location on screen to something more visible and possibly add a trail or something. I'm guessing this would require rooting. I am a long time desktop developer but this is my first time really delving into Android and I have noticed so many hidden services and apps that I would love to kill but I can't so it looks like I may have to root anyway.
That prints* sorry I tried to edit the typos but the save wouldn't send. I'm assuming my you block extension here is blocking some script. I've pretty much disabled 90% of the functionality on this phone just to help secure it that's another thing I need to look into browser security.
+1 on remapping the pen button

Yeah I think there's a lot of potential for some really helpful and amazing functions. First time I used this and noticed it could track on screen without touch I thought that was something very special. And then when I found that it could register a button press while hovering I immediately thought of thousand applications for this.
Just one off the top of my head. Imagine having an actual useful text to clipboard function where you simply hover the cursor over text you wanted and click the button to highlight and let go of button to stop highlighting. It would make copying text on the phone just like using a mouse. I am so sick of having to long press and stay completely still for the damn thing to register. We shouldn't have to do that with this s pen.
I have tried before on rooted note 3 to remap the s pen button but the phone didn't recognize the command... always pop up s pen menu. I think surely you need root before trying or try adb push.
Regards
Conito, I would love to hear more in-depth description of your attempt to remap it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.spencontrol
this might be an option if you have rooted your phone.
it doesn't outright remap your button, but does let you execute commands by drawing lines or symbols while holding the button.
I haven't tested it since the note 2 though because I no longer root devices.
I have even wrote to Samsung asking for this. I want to be able to remap it for the eye dropper to when I'm drawing. It's set as the eraser from Samsung so hopefully someone will one day find a way to at least change the default tool (eraser) That might be easier than a whole other app or something.

Sorry mate you have to quote, I didn't see your post until now.
I just try to remap with applications like xposed additions and stuff like that. But the app didn't recognize when I pressed the button. So the only thing we can do is get into the app that manage the spen command and edit it with tools or things like that. I remember that some guy in the note 3 forum develop a simple app that can launch that application. So maybe that could be the solution: edit the behavior of the original spencommand app.
My best regards.
Hi
Do you know if we can use multiple S pen at the same time ? For example, I want to let a S pen on my desktop and use it at home to avoid to take out the S pen inside the Note 8.
Thanks
I tried somewhat like you describe with my note 7, but the spen was not be detected when another one was stored inside the phone
Not clear what OP wants to do, after reading it 5 times...
You can use various S pens, but digitizer only accepts one at the time.
I can use my Note 4 S pen while Note 8 S pen is stored in phone, as long as I have "power saver" in S pen settings off.
I use various S pens (Wacom pen, Noble/Steadler pen, S pens) with all Galaxy Notes (2, 4, 8, 10.1) and my Notebook 9 Pro, no problem.
I believe that winol understood what I wanted to say : actually, I want to have 2 S pen, one that I carry in my phone everywhere (in the slot of the galaxy note) and an other that I left at home for example. The goal is to avoid to take out the S pen at home every time I want to use it (because I have a second S pen in my exemple) .
From winol answer, it seems that we can't have the Note 8 to recognize a second S pen when one is in his slot.
Is it clearer ? (sorry english is not my native language)

Yes like OnnoJ mentioned you should be able to do that if you turn off the power saver option in s-pen settings. I haven't tried it though, because I only have 1 s-pen
Oh it works, nice ! just the tip of my Note 3 isnt as smooth as the one in the note 8 but I can fix this
Good to know i worked! With the note 7 it did not, I really did not want to implement using two, but I bought another spen, and when I tried it, it did not work, as the original one was still attached

Yeah, this. Notes have always been like this, turn off Power Saver if you want to use additional S-Pens while one is stored in the device.
the same with Note 9
1) Is there ANY way to trigger Samsung's AirCommand without pulling the S Pen out ? An app, an activity, a shortcut, a Tasker plugin, an xposed/magisk module, anything ?
2) Likewise, is it possible to enable or disable "power saver" for S Pen without going to the (unnecessarily confusing) Settings ?

See screenshot for settings for floating icon and power saving options under advance -> SPen settings, SPen does not require to be removed, pressing the button will bring up the air command icon after which it will stick around till a reboot (your out if luck if pen does not have button)

As far as I know, the last time I checked this (which was a quite a while ago), the air command icon doesn't work or react to anything other than the S Pen. For instance, even if it's on screen, you can't press on it with your finger and interact with it like that. I'll recheck that again now.
As far as apps existing to trigger the air command and the setting; there used to be an app for the Note 3 to trigger air command. I don't know if apps like that still exist or even work.
For the setting, you can create a shortcut, if you have Nova Launcher, or use Activity Launcher app to create a shortcut to go directly to the S Pen settings. It's not as ideal as just a trigger, but it saves a little on effort. I don't think there is an app that allows you to change that setting via a widget or something like that.
EDIT: Confirmed. The Air Command icon only works and reacts to the S Pen. So, even if you had an app to open Air Command without undocking the pen, it wouldn't work anyway. So, might as well just take out the pen and use it via the pen, like it was intended.

I was presuming that they were using a compatible pen device as the post mentions multiple S Pen, the only issue is not all compatible pen devices has a button.

Yeah, this makes sense. I'm a very literal person. If you say "S Pen", I'm going to assume you're talking about an S Pen and not a similar device, like an Apple Pencil.
