To mount the sdcard
Settings > Storage > Menu Icon > USB computer connection
Enable Media device (MTP)
I don't know if that is the issue you are having, but nothing showed up in my photo gallery until I enabled that.

Hi guys.

Why don't use iSyncr? Import your ipod playlist to Itunes on your PC or laptop then use iSyncr to sync it to Galaxy S... New version of iSyncr support Galaxy S default player,so just spend few bucks to buy it from market, work like a charm for me..cheers
if you have a pc...
use windows media player:
1. connect in media player mode
2. open windows media player
3. on the left section on wmp, locate yout device
4. right click > set up sync (name device blah blah)
5. right click > set up sync again, and now you can pick w/c playlists you want to sync automatically
after you are done, wmp will sync the playlists to your galaxy, and the music player will have those playlists on your phone too.
every time you make changes to the playlist, just connect pack you phone and wmp will auto sync those changes.
if you want to modify the quality of synced audio, do right click > properties > quality and select a maximum quality level.
note: wmp will sync videos too.
i said this in another post too..and again here , if it helps
Is scrobbling enabled for last.fm? try disabling it as see if the sluttering goes away. It did in my case . so I stopped doing 'real-time' scrobbling

doesnt work for me. am on rooted JF4 firmware.
Hi,
i'm having a issue with Media Scanner and thanks to that with nearly all media players on Android.
Let me explain .
I don't have my music on Galaxy Tab, i have a share on network, mounted via CIFS to /mnt/sdcard/music. With apps like MortPlayer or via explorer utils i can see the contents of this folder.
Unfortunately this folder is not indexed by Media Scanner, as even if i use a SD rescan util (which forces the Media Scanner to start scanning), none of the files show up in the standard music player. On other side, if i manually copy the files to internal memory via USB, then after USB disconnect the Media Scanner runs and finds all new files - except those from those from the share.
Now, the question is if this is some sort of Media Scanner limitation (like if it ignores any mounts) or do i have some configuration issue ?
Of course i could use MortPlayer, but i don't really like using this kind of player if could have a library instead.

Have you find solution? I'm having same problem. Tried to google, but no luck.
No solution unfortunately. It looks like a limitation of the Android media scanner.
Hi,
iam using the standard Player called "musik" on my galaxy tab.
I have mounted a CIFS on /mnt/sdcard/media/subfolders
There are 3 folders which contain mp3 files. Others Videos...
One week ago i have noticed that the Media Scanner has detected the content from only one folder full of mp3s. I thougt that it is impossible that the standard player detects files from cifs. But it has detected the media. I dont now why. The other two folders with mp3-mixes are not detected.

Hi there,
I am having problems transfering music on to my LG Optimus Black.
I am not sure where to create a music folder so the default music player can see the music files.
I have created music folders in Audio and in DCIM and in the main menu and the music is on the phone but the it is not found by the default player.
Any help would be appreciated .
Kind Regards
Kev
You put music files (say .mp3) anywhere in your memory card, your player should detect it automatically. So there should be an error reading the memory card.
Try this : Settings >> SD card & phone storage >> Unmount SD card.
Then mount it again. Once scanning of all media files finishes ( You may be able to see the scanning progress and completion notification on top bar. ) you player should work okay.
Also try downloading different players from market. Do they detect your music files?
I'm not that sure but I think the SD already have a "music" folder? mine those, I put all files there and player automatic detected them, even if I have files at bluetooth>music or download>music folders still detect them with no problem

Well even if there's no music named folder it still works. I directly copied my folders from pc such as metallica and linkin park etc and I put it in "my favourite" folder in root directory and it works perfectly..
Hi
'Walkman' cannot scan properly music on my device
Both Internal & External memory
i can find music by file manage and play them with walkman (via file manager)!
But walkman cannot show them and after playing via file manager cannot show music info or download !!!
but thr s no problem with scanning of movie app it can show all compatible video file.
Thnx
-
Edit;
There s problem of getting from WiFi and USB!
I transferred musics via USB So Walkman can scan them properly
:good:
How did you fix this?
I'm confused. My walkman app doesn't see any of my music on my ext SD card.
If I transfer them to internal\music with root browser (where the stock 6 songs are which ARE recoqnized) they still don't show up??
I just inserted my SD card from my old phone. There's no need to re-transfer them via USB for it to work right? That would be iPhone/iTunes like (which sucks!!)
