Broken Screen :/

I recently broke the gorila glass on my O2x, is there anyone who knows where to pick one up for a cheap price, or knows how replace it? Cheers

I saw a video on YouTube how it was done, if you're handy you can do it yourself. Over here a shop had it for around 50€

You have glasses on Ebay, for about 55$.

.... and lcd screens as well. Price is a bargain compared to local finds. Bought one and it runs perfectly!

Just be Very careful at 1:14. There's a lot of flexible cables around the edges under that cover (and I broke one of them :/ luckily it was for the second camera)

Got mine repaired for 59 € after I sat on a screwdriver with the 2X residing in my backpocket...
that´s from a german ebay-store but you shouldn´t have to pay much more for a replacement "front piece" including LCD, Touch and front cover.

sorry to bring up a dead thread, but would this be fine in i just replace the front piece with the screen?

Yep, assuming that's all that's damaged. If you killed the IPS panel underneath the digitizer, you'll need that too.

That's the lcd screen underneath right? I'm presuming its not damaged due to the screen still producing the correct colour, so that's great.

Digitizer = the glass touch sensitive bit.
So if you busted that, there will be a big-ass crack in the glass, generally.

I just edited my last post before I realised you replied. & yes unresponsive cracks through the middle.

That is quite a price drop. though I'm not much of a fan of buying outside of eBay...
& I also need the front piece. Plus I wont a white one. And it looks cool.

Dust under screen

Hello.
I just noticed that there is one dust particle under my screen. there were a few under my Optimus 2X screen as well. Is this common or am I just unlucky?
It's not much of a problem, I don't notice it when the screen is turned on..
Anyone else with this problem?

I haven't any problems with my p880 there is no dust. In my old p990 there was no dust. I didn't carry of the device. I wear it in the pockets.

Idem never problems of dust on my P880 ( also P720 no dust) : Bene:

Probably you're unlucky with dust.
When you unbox the device it must be perfect.
No problem return the device and change it with a new or if this way wasn't true go into a LG center with your warranty and LG will clean you device!

I forgot to say that there is also light leakage in the upper left and right corner. It's only visible on black backgrund though, and it doesn't bother me much. My O2X had this as well, upper left and right corner.
So my 4X has both issues that my 2X did, annoying. But whatever... I can live with it.

i have none of both problems with my phone, also got a white one with no problems.
you should replace your 4x with an onther one

No dust on either 2X or 4X
I haven't had any dust problems with my 2X, nor with my 4X yet.

I have the black 4X HD but have no problems with dust or light bleeding. I have no case or screen protector on my phone and wear it in my pocket. You must have been unlucky with your device.

I have a white one and I also have some bleeding, most in lower left corner.
It doesn't bother me either, but I would have preferred it without it of course.

Having received my device yesterday I have around 8 specs of dust under my screen

My device is being returned and I have ordered another and see how this one goes.

I got a Black 4x and I have about 3 dust specs between the gorilla glass and the LCD. Mailed customer service and got instructed to see the Local LG Service Center. Will probably take it in this week and see what happens. It really spoils a beautiful screen.
Do hope it's not a problem with all of them.

My replacement has some specs under the screen but I cannot be bothered to send it in for another replacement, just dealing with it

No problem here either, at least from what I can tell. How do you check for dust?

Hi guys, I have the same problem with my phone I have one large practical and about 12 smaller ones cluster together. I'm going to phone LG tomorrow and find out what can be done from here. I will keep you informed as to what happens.

i don't have that dust screen problem with my white O4XHD... maybe u should return it...

4X Defects

Hi guys,
Today I have sent back my 3rd P880 (Black) to P4U as all 3 handsets had 2-4 dead pixels and clusters of dust under the screen. The guy in the shop checked for dust on the remaining stock and they all had it to a degree. Its such a shame as I really loved the phone and been following it since february.
I wanted the folks of XDA to be aware of my experience. The barcodes on and in the box all began with *MAYXXXXXXXX(1.0)WR*
All 3 boxes had quite alot of dust in the box, also i cannot understand why LG doesn't seal the boxes. Perhaps they manufacter the handsets in a saw dust factory! I'm really disapointed with LG I gave them a chance and don't get me wrong the 4X is an amazing device. Sadly I have cancelled my contract and reverted back to Samsung.
If anyone wants an unused clear S wave gel case and an unused screen protector PM me.

My first Optimus 4X had sea-bow effect through the whole display.
The second one had dead pixels.
So then I go to the shop and they started to show me them 4X in stock.
The first had also minimal one bright pixel on all colors.
Then I started to think, maybe there is no 4X with good screen.
And they finally show me the second piece, which have no dead pixels or any unwanted effect and I chose it.
Only good thing is, that the dead pixels are not very big despite the resolution.
So yes, sadly, many of them have dead pixels, so be very careful to choose the right one.

I just gave up lol. Was taking a few days everytime to exchange. I will just get an ugly S3

For me is perfect the Optimus 4X.Yes a bad camera,but a best price,quality,screen,power and more.

Broken screen.

I broke my screen =( and yes im going to blame it on the dog cause he did do it haha. I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this? i saw some tutorials on youtube but i dont know where is a good place to get a screen or which one to get anyone deal with it before? thanks

You need to make sure if only digitizer(outer glass) is broken or LCD (usually blank screen if it's broken)as well. LCD is expensive to replace but If you have to then buy reassembled LCD and digitizer combo which is like $65 on eBay.
Or sell it on eBay as "for parts not working" around $50 and find cheaper from craigslist at around 175-200.

I've replaced the digitizer screen on the vivid three times. Repairs universe is where I ordered my screens.

Well I'm using the phone, I have insurance for it too so I'll just replace the screen then the LCD through insurance for free if that's the case but thanks you two. And was it hard for you to do sense you've done it 3 times

I wasn't too bad my advice: Take your time, follow the guide and you'll be fine. Wish I had a guide the first time I did it...

Had to replace mind..and now my bezel doesn't fit the same...=(...Oh well...do make sure to wipe that LCD clean with a micro-cloth or something JUST BEFORE putting the digitizer over it. One hair or something gets in there, it will bug you the rest of its life!

dropped my old vivid (before i bricked it) on concreate. shattered that m'fker upp.. lmao.. i ordered a replacmemnet from amazon and did it myself. its not too hard. look up a youtube tut. or i can do it for you if you want. $10+ whatever the screen costs

Thanks guys I bought a screen so hopefully I can do it without ****ing up. I called att and apparently there insurance covers it but I have to pay 120 deduct able witch is bs ...

screen not responding after dropped

Hi just dropped my xperia z from about 5 foot height onto pavement and the screen is not broken but it isnt responding to any touch.
Is there any chance it can be fixed without fitting a new screen?

That mean touch may be broken get to some hardware repairs shop

just asked the guy who fixes my phones he said bring it in and ill see, said it could be digitizer which if it is then im ****ed.
had enough of this, broke the screen 2 months ago and spent £150 fixing it and £20 for a broken sensor.
arghhhhh.

Flashed a new firmware on it whilst deleting everything on the phone through pc companion but still no luck.

Im confused here, the phone guy said the digitizer is built in with the screen but im checking on ebay and theyre selling a seperate digitizer.

Let me know please, confused and angry,

Apparently the screen and digitiser are glued together, making it extremely likely that one or the other will break when attempting to separate them.

Or is there a thick screen protector that someone can recommend?
