Hi Guys,
Need help on that one.
Flashed via Mobile Odin Pro from LA1 (rooted/cwm/cf-kernel la1) to LA4 keeping Ever ROOT option ON, but did not check to inject superuser/cwm/mobile odin.
Since LA4 is not a wipe rom all the above apps remained, but Mobile Odin, Titanium Backup keep on saying that they can't access root.
Lost CWM app also. Did a full backup before the whole thing, but recovery mode seem to be lacking backup restore now
You could flash back to KK4 using Odin(PC) and root it with zergrush.. Install mobile odin again.. Flash LA4 properly with mobile odin this time.. And you shouldnt lose any of your data or apps...
Thats what i did once..
OK, but it does not make sense to put so much effort knowing that have not lost root. I have flashed LA4 on to top of LA1 via Mobile Odin Pro with Ever Root option ON.
Because of not injecting CWM, I've lost recovery and busybox su binaries. Now I need to find the way to flash them back.
Maybe I should wait for LA4+CMW kernel from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
and then flash it using:
Execute "already-rooted.bat" and follow the instructions
or maybe I can flash LA3+CWM kernel to get CWM back, restore backed up LA1 and the flash LA4 again having all injection options turned on this time.
Correct mi if I'm wrong.
Its not much of an effort.. The process is rather quick(a few minutes).. Its perhaps the downloads that can take some time..
Edit: waiting for a quickfix often takes more time
Yeah, you're probably right, will flashing via Odin (PC) increase flashing counter?

If the rom you use is stock rom then it should not increase the counter.

You always loose root after flashing stock firmware! Should have flashed it with MobileOdinPro.
If you want root again, downgrade to a directly rootable rom (all versions till KL7) and reroot it with CFRootIntitialFlasher by Chainfire, thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784

i have the same problem "like" thermax(thread starter)
sorry, bad english
you will need to use odin to flash an older stock rom, root it then use mobile opdin to flash the latestst stock version

I have flashed to KL3, but i failed at rooting it.
idk why, but the doomlord zerg v4 i used to root before won't work.
Just pick and download a stock rom from here (till KL7) http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3. Flash with Odin and reroot with InitialCFRootflasher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 and you`re done

Just read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 once or twice and follow it to the letter and it can`t go wrong
I have ticked both, done the instruction precisely(very short steps), and still fails
after the zerg phase, it says
/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 : cannot open for write: Permission denied
---cleaning up
---rebooting
and it is still unrooted

If I reflash KK2 would it keep all my stuff (contacts, apps, settings) or it will be as format?
Is there any other easier methods to root the LA1 or wait for it?
Iam new with Samsung and Odin, and read somewhere that mobile Odin will intact the 0 flashing (or something means that)
And also read that all flashing can be done via windows Odin (easier for me to deal via pc than mobile screen size)

No LA1 cannot be rooted directly unless you don`t care about raising the binary flash counter. I think KK2 is a wipe rom so yes you will losse everything on your internal disk, so copy the entire disk with windows task manager and put it back after you flashed KK2.
Odin can only be used with stock firmware, kernels or csc files, not custom files.
And try to read up about rooting, flashing and such things. There are threads enough around here.
Good luck

according to what I understood from you so far:
1 - I will reflash the Original stock rom KK2 by PC Odin
you said that KK2 will wipe my mobile and I should make a backup for my internal disk, So, Sorry to ask: what is this (windows task manager) and how to use it?
2 - I will root the KK2 same way I did last time
3 - I will flash the new update LA1 via Mobile Odin and it will keep my root and CWM
Does Mobile odin come in free or paid?

1. yes reflash KK2 using PC odin, I dont know wether KK2 is wipe version, if it is wipe, even you won't lose data on internal SD card, no meaning to take backup with window. If you want to backup your installed app + data, you must have Root.
alternatively you can choose non wipe version to reflash (e.g. KL3 india) it won't delete anything.
2. You have to Root Your relashed ROM (you can find how to Root guide on my signature)
3.Mobile Odin Pro is paid. Dont want to pay for mobile Odin Pro/ unable to purchase it, you can get Root + CWM, then update LA4 using CWM ( you may get installation guide link from my signature)
I will recommend to read all 4 links(first 2-3 post) on my signature, you will find answer of most of your questions
what if i tried to root my new ROM (LA1) using doomlord rooting kit, failed, and then downgrade it to KL3?
can i still use the doomlord easy rooting kit?
i tried this few times yesterday, but it still won't get rooted.
Ok, I reflashed by PC Odin my original stock rom KK2, and it was not wipe, I found everything is intact
But when I tried to root + recovery like before, did not work although I get on the screen (all done) but after reboot no root or CWM
I reinstalled Kies but still alot of errors when trying to do the rppt only or root+CWM
What should I do?
is there any way that I can wipe my phone and start as fresh as I can? what I did is :
boot to recovery and chooses wipe cache partition and Factory reset, it is all or there is something else can be done?
Edit : The wipe did it, and I have root and CWM now

Turn off your antivirus temporarily as it removes some components of your rooting tool which causes the error message.

Yes you can use doomlord method after downgrade.
check USB debugging on, close any PC sync SW, close Firewall, close antivitus. Try another PC.
Flashed LPY Stock over CheckRom/Abyss 6.2 Red Pill using Mobile Odin Pro. I did NOT flash CF Root Image file as I did not want any CWR yet.
Checked inject SuperSU. Everroot, Inject Odin, all wipes and flashed.
Phone booted fine to ICS with full root..... I know the stock LPY Kernel is not rooted and Recovery is stock.
Does Mobile Odin Pro have SuperSU as part of it's app or did it inject the root from the GB Abyss Kernel?
What are the ramifications of future flashing?
Should I flash DAFUQ Kernel to get a "safe" CWR TO FLASH ZIP FILES?.
Shoud I use Dr Ketan's Method of temporary CWR for a single flash?
Should I wait for Mobile Odin Custom ROM Tar files?
I know when flashing a custom ROM I will get permanent CWM either way as part of that ROM. Since I have not seen a ROM ready for prime time for me yet and my phone is doing very well, I am in no hurry to flash anything. I was just wondering where peoples minds are on this situation.
Lol! You ticked inject supersu an everroot and you're surprised you got SuperSU and root?

LOL...No not surprised..... I was just wondering where SU came from...Mobile Odin or my previous ROM/Kernel. Doesn't matter now because I just flashed CF Root with CWM anyway through PC Odin. Wiped the triangle and going to flash some ROMS.
May as well as I will need CWM to wipe and flash .. If I brick. meh so be it. The S3 is looking good. and my back up S2 will suffice.
I really don't want to deal with tip toeing around a device in order to try different ROMS based on good sources. So I will proceed as normal until something goes a miss and then throw it away or wait until the Devs find a fix...........and wait for the S3 and Note II
I tried each and every thing to get full root but everytime I end up with that fu** partial root. Is there anybody who can guide me. I had tried following things till now :
1. Installed Factory kJ1 via pc odin.
2. Got full root access in KJ1 GB rom (tested by pasting a file in system folder)
3. Rebooted in recovery.
4. Installed Red pill Abyss kernel.
5. Did all the three wipes in red pill mode.
6. Installed Kingdroid Rom and s3 mod patch via red pill abyss.
7. Booted up in Rom and noticed a partial root.
8. Then flashed Chainfire 5.6 kernel via pc odin.
9. Used remove triangle apk ( succeded in removing triangle)
10. But still that partial root.
11. Then tried to flash cwm.zip via "update from sdcard" mode in CWM but failed to do so. It says no update file available.
12. Then installed the same file via "Select zip from sd card".
13. Did succeded in installing by this method then tried to install SU installer but CWM hangs at "unmounting system".
14. And guess what that fu**ing partial root.
I have tried many times the same methods but still no benefit.
I upgraded using Mobile Odin and I have full root.
When MO loads files, replace kernel with CF-Root 5.6 or any other safe kernel.
Hope it helps.

Edit

Read this post before you continue.
As CF said Beware: update.zip's can trigger the bug if they use "format" commands!
This kernel is safe to restore backups and to perform wipe data and factory reset but do not use it to flash custom roms.

If you're going to Stock ICS then use PC Odin, It will not increase the Binary counter - either way you will lose root but follow Dr. K's method to root once on ICS.
I believe the Yellow triangle will only trigger if flashing a non-stock (Custom) Kernel via PC Odin. I use Mobile ODIN for kernel flashing.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have just watched Cursed4eva youtube video using Mobile Odin to flash German ICS stock on rooted gb. I think that was also ok. but he did mention if binary count is triggered. It also has everroot enabled. Seems ok ?
If you want to flash just stock ROM, you can use either.
Stock ROM won't raise counter in anyway.
But i do recommend is go with PC Odin. as well clean.
You are already rooted so make backup with titanium
Hard reset (wipe cache and data from recovery) on existing GB ROM
-Flash ICS using PC Odin
-Root it, and restore appl using TB (avoid restoring sys junk, just only restore user app)
And yes above menton method won't increae flash counter.
Use first link on my signature to get ICS ROM + installation N rooting instruction

Follow Dr.ketan's Rooting guide for ICS and install a custom kernel through CWM recovery or using mobile ODIN. :good:

I usually flash kernels with Mobile Odin or CWM.. I don't like to flash custom kernels with PC Odin as the Binary counter increases. Yes, I know that you can use Triangle Away.. But this for me should be a last resort when there are other methods available..
I rooted via Dr. K's method and flashed the latest Speedmod Kernel via Mobile Odin - I am running Stock 4.0.3 with SpeedMod K3-11. NO Binary count increase and no need for Triangle Away...
I think there's a few people getting to used to using TA to take short cuts to do things....It is itself, not without risk...

Mobile Odin is safe to flash a custom kernel.
Download the kernel you want to flash to your SD card (internal or external).
Run Mobile Odin, grant access through Superuser and go to the kernel section inside Mobile Odin pro and look for the kernel that you earlier saved from the download.
After that, just tap on flash firmware (inside Mobile Odin still) and that would restart your phone and once booted, you now have a new kernel.

Hi
Need help , please
1) I had to get gingerbread 2.3.6 on my phone and full root before cvxcvx could restore my imei. I did this and rooted With abyss kernel. The Method I used did the following. I got the triangle and binary Counter was set to 1. Now I have emei but I cant get my phone to update to jb because of this. Now I did not found out any other way to root gingerbread.
Then I flashed Gingerbread once again using Odin With gingerbread tar file, Nordic countries. Afterwards it restarted as it suppose to do. I tapped my sim pincode when promted. Now nothing happened to my phone other than that I lost my root. The sms and historik data is still there. but the triangle is gone but my binary Counter is still active, thus I cant get the Samsung jb update.
1) think I now should do a wipe data/ factory reset and then continued to 2)?
( I wanted to use this Method to resett my binary Counter by using triangle away: video cursed4eva ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa-t-8ypcYs ) written description ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1494114). But does only work With Stock kernel. I have rooted With abyss kernel which is custum if I am not wrong. This is the only way I know to root gingerbread on my Note. )
I also have Stock firmware ics Nordic countries which I want to flash using Odin. And this I can root With philz kernel which is Stock I think. And then I can go on With resetting binary Counter(video above cursed4eva).
2) I want to get my Stock ics on my phone using odin.
NOW THE MAIN QESTION IS DO I HAVE TO ROOT GINGERBREAD WHITH ABYSS KERNEL AGAIN SO THAT I CAN FLASH STOCK ICS USING ODIN OR CAN I JUST FLASH ICS WITH ODIN WITHOUT A ROOT? OR SAID ANOTHER WAY DO I NEED ROOT TO FLASH ICS USING ODIN?
Hope You can answer me 1) and 2)
There is no need of root for flashing with odin. While you are on GB rom, do a factory reset. (will loose data). Then flash with stock ICS. Do not wipe while on stock ICS kernel. Once flashing is done, use Philz kernel to root.

Hi
Ok I did a factory resett on GB and then I flashed ics using odin(Odin3-v1.85). . when on Stock ICS kernel i did not do a wipe/faktory resett. I then went right to root my phone With philz kernel With this kernel on ext. sd card( Root_SuperSU.0.95.Only-signed ) using Method volum up , Power, home and then selected update from ext. sd card and so on. Now I tried to Connect to network and it does not Connect. i still have imei. when I go
into settings and mobile network. When I tap network operators it only finds network operators like , Telenor, Netcome, mobile Norway but not Onecall(which I am using). Then I tap Select automatically, I then get a Message in small letters on my screen saying; network registered (googled mobile norway + onecall, and it seems that Onecall is getting their net from Telenor and mobile norway, thats somehow I get the Message registered on network I think). So I am able to download the JB update from Samsung over wifi (I have downloaded but of course not run it?), but I dont get to Connect to mobilnetwork and surf With f.ex my net-browser.
What do I do now? Og back to GB and see If it function again? Or just go on to resett my binary Counter or do the jb update which I have downloaded.
If I am to go to resett my binary Counter. I wanted to use this Method to resett my binary Counter by using triangle away: video cursed4eva ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa-t-8ypcYs ) written description ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1494114). I seems a bit scary that I gonna totally brick my phone and have to replace the hole mainboard. but I am running out of options it seems.
Have to say loosing imei has been and still is a true nightmare. promblems doent seem to stop
