[Q] Mobile to Mobile Sync Calendars? - HTC Incredible S

Hello,
Is anyone aware of any sort of App that will directly sync calendars between two Android devices? Using the mobile data 'always on' network or via wi-fi on a home network?
In theory, I guess I could set up a new gmail account and both devices log in to it (can you do that?) and sync the calendars that way.
Just wondering!
Thank you.

Sync-ing by wi-fi

Is there a way to sync using wi-fi?
yep - google sync
Really there is? as what I heard, there was NO way to synch that. Me googled too, but nothing popup, can you provide pls more info?
http://www.google.com/mobile/default/sync.html
btw with a special version from activesync it was possible to sync with wlan. But has been removed dues to security reasons :> and you cannot use older AS versions
ok, question....if i do this, will it show my upcoming birthdays/events on my home tab, the same way it would using Outlook?
it syncs google contacts and gcalander to poutlook. So yep.

Retrieve email via WiFi?

Is it possible? It always choose my dataplan over WiFi even tho I'm connected to WiFi.
Yeah its possible. Just go to the email tab in touch flo, then tap setting/menu at the lower right corner, then tap send/receive.
I dont have a data plan so thats how i get my email
Using Gmail as my exchange server, I can sync to Gmail through WiFi.
I do not have any stand alone accounts though.
All my accounts filter through Gmail then sync through AS.
If its choosing data over WiFi, you may need to disable data.
Very strange, now it's using WiFi instead of the dataplan.

[Q] Sync via Wifi not edge/3G - Galaxy S

Hi Guys,
I noticed all the data syncs (google syncs in particular like GoMarks, then a currency program i have ) going on with galaxy s (froyo) - if i turn data comm off - it doesnt sync via wifi.
comparing with iphone - you could have all sync via wifi.
Am I doing something wrong ?
Thx
not sure what is wrong with your phone, if anything.
but my calendar, emails, phone book and other stuff syncs normally when i'm on WiFi
check your settings perhaps?
did you install any app that might give you some choices related to that?
It may be that your wifi has not all ports open.
sync uses gtalk for the push notifications. Check if you can connect to gtalk when on wifi.

[Q] How to get GMail push ?

Hey all,
I am aware that Google has extended the expiry date for EAS. So this means we should still see the option for Push email, or the "as item arrives" setting while setting up email.
I only use GMail, no calendar.
I dont see the option of "as item arrives" in my GMail accounts when I set them up. My GMail settings are setup like that because I have been using Push on iOS and then Android for last 3 years.
How can I get the "as item arrives" setting to show up in GMail ? It does show in my hotmail account settings.
Device: Lumia 820 on Telstra (Australia)
I would suggest creating the Account as an "Outlook" Account on the phone and entering the server address manually, see: http://email.about.com/od/accessinggmail/f/Gmail_Exchange_ActiveSync_Settings.htm
You can then deactivate syncing of Contact and Calendar. I guess in your current Setup you are using IMAP to connect to GMail and WP does not support IMAP Push/Idle.

Yeah, this is correct. IMAP is the preferred choice isn't it ? Web GMail shows either POP or IMAP.

OK, didn't know that. So what protocol do Hotmail use then for Push/idle ? Because my hotmail account is always up to date.........
Hotmail uses the Exchange ActiveSync Protocol. This is currently still supported for new Connections by GMail as well but will no longer allow new devices to be connected from July onward. If you select "Outlook" as account type for a new Account it will use EAS.
IMAP is what Google is currently pushing Non-Android users to use.
If you set up an account as "Gmail" on Windows Phone, it will give you the option for e-mail only or e-mail, contacts, and calendar. Even if you're not going to use the contacts and calendar sync, you must choose that option to get Exchange ActiveSync (while Google still allows you to set it up). If you choose e-mail only, it will only offer IMAP/POP.

Cant sync my outlook account

I've had this lg g4 for about two hours now and i have been unable to get my outlook email account to sync. previously on my lg g3 it was as simple as just logging in and it would sync however now on my lg g4 it wont even allow me to add the email account. starting from a factory reset i go into the email application and select Microsoft exchange. from their i attempt to log into my account. then it tells me its checking auto info then after a couple seconds it says in a pop up. setup incomplete. cannot connect to server. check network connection and info, then try again. ( i have tried doing it on my data network and on my wifi both give the same result) then it brings me to the manual setup ( server address domain etc) ive googled and searched and tried different ports and server addresses to no avail and i am dumbfounded as to how i am supposed to sync my account to my phone. another perplexing thing it seems is that even the outlook app from Microsoft on the play store gives me the same behavior saying it cannot reach the server and using exchange services apk. gives the same behavior (gave me error code: status 110). the other odd thing is that i can make it sync just my outlook mail (using pop?) however not my calendar contacts etc. any ideas?
my g3 never exhibited any of this behavior.

1) Did you try setting up exchange email from settings>accounts&sync and then add account and pick exchange? This is how I did and it is working just fine and I can sync my calendar + email.
2) Did you update built in LG Apps? Settings>About phone>Update center> App Updates and see if there are any updates(there is an exchange app which will also be updated)

1) Are the APN settings correct and selected under settings>more>mobile networks>access point names?
2) May I assume that you have data connection if not using WiFi? - you did indicate that you tried both, but just wanted to make sure.
3) Also set up exchange server could have some outage and it isn't the phone's issue. Keep trying, because it does work on my phone.

1. the apm settings are correct and im connected to tmobile lte.
2. ive tried using both the wifi and straight data connection
3 Oh thank god it finally worked apparently it was an outage ( would have been nice to have been told it was) i just got it to connect.
thank you for taking the time to try and help me!
Try to reboot your phone maybe
We have Office 365 at my workplace. When I punch in my email in the Outlook app, I just get: "There was a problem accessing the site. Try to browse to the site again." It was working prior to rooting.
Are you using 2-step authentication? If so you need to use and Create a new app password from your security and password settings under Account Settings on the MS site. This is if you are using the regular email app vs the Outlook.com app from MS.
NM. See you got it working and was outage related. My bad.
Glad the OP was able to get this resolved ... I too use exchange for work and simply wanted to share my preferred exchange email app.

It's a bit pricey, but man is it leaps and bounds better than any other app I've used! Great support from the developers too!
/end shameless plug
LOL
G4'ed it!
