hi
I changed my cellular network provider today. after replacing the sim card, I now have a new icon in the status bar, which I do not know and can not find in the manual anywhere. Looks like a big 1, one. Any ideas? Thanks a lot for answering.
Use search is being discussed already in another thread already...
Sent from my blasting P970 with zeus
well, using search showed 2 completely different answers, number one indicating something to do with calendar, number two says, the icons shows the number of line ... which line, I don't know.
so I decided to ask a question to get an answer. thanks.

I think yo can disable that going to setting-call setting and search there because i have saw something like this on my setting . Disable it from there. I think that are networks with 2 lines you can select to call and be called, or something like that.
Is it possible that you have 2 different numbers for your phone?
Like a real mobile number and one thats for being called from the normal phones?
Like a local number, that is cheaper to be called instead of a real mobile number.
In germany it should be a number like 0xxxx-yyyyyy (where xxxx stands for your local number, e.g 08551 for me) instead of german mobile numbers that start with 01xx-xxxxxxxx (mostly 0170/0171/0151 or similar)...
As I got to know, that some contracts offer this option
It's number of line, u can change for number of line here

Ok, but do you have different numbers in one SIM card? Like I mentioned above?

actually yes, it is possible to have 2 lines [diferent numbers] at the same sim, if your carrier can provide it
thanks a lot for all the answers and help.
I'm using a prepaid sim, which does not include an additional number, i.e. something like an extra "home zone number", which would enable cheaper calls in a defined local radius around your home. at least my provider did not tell me
thats number is for 1 Line, your SIM suport 2 lines, you can have 2 lines but ask your operator!!

Hi all,
I got my spv m700 today. I have unlocked the sim and cid. I then flashed a new rom onto it. The only problem I have is my contacts, they are all on my sim. The thing is most of them have their numbers missing. Anyone got any ideas to help me.
Thanks in advance
Are you sure the numers are missing?
Look at each contact and see if the number is in a different field to the ones you are used to looking at / seeing.... if you see what I mean
Yes I know what you mean. I have opened the contacts and there is absolutely nothing there but their name. Out of 47 contacts I have all the names but only 3 with their numbers
eeeeerrkkk
have you checked your old phone to see whats in there? You might get lucky, but looks / sounds like you lost the lot
Hi, Sorry if ther eis already info on this, i have been searching but haven't found anything.
I jsut changed to the resently released HTC WM6.1 ROM on my Orange TyTN iI. everything is working great, but for some reason i get the orange servce numbers (answerphone, text center etc) appear in my contact list.
I've tried updating the SIM manager application but doesnt seem to have fixed the issue.
Thanks,
stupid question, but alot of factory ROM's add those numbers to your contacts, Have you deleted them from your contacts? Thats all you need to do.
Those numbers can't be deleted as the delete button is greyed out and they don't exist in the sim manager program, you can just hide them using the kaiser tweak tool
Thanks, i'll try that out.
I don't really think it's a stupid question though, as said above, the "delete" option is grayed out. As i said in my original post the nubers are the service numbers stored on the SIM. I don't really appreciate such unhelpful replies.
funny must be a SIM thing cause I can delete them whey they come up on certain ROM's into my phone contacts. I had them on my SIM at one time and they are deleted.
**HAHAHAHA, no sorry i meant me, my question, i thought i was readin it wrong. i see now how it can be misunderstood. my bad**
**Did you go into the Sim Manager, Menu, Tools, and go to Service Dialing Numbers... and try deleting from there?**
I did try using the SIM mangaer but it doesn't give te option to delete the service dialing numbers. It's quite strange, but have managed to hide them with the tweak tool.
yea as i said its probably built into the sim. I guess if they are going to start pulling that shiz then i will have to make sure to keep my sim card. if i can help it i never let them swap out my sim card. usually those little bastards will do it without saying anything anymore.
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to change the defaut split pattern used for phone numbers in the Galaxy S (contacts, calls, etc).
Here in Brazil we use phone numbers just like in USA, following the pattern:
AAA XXXX-XXXX , or AA XXXX-XXXX or even only XXXX-XXXX
(AAA = Area code, and XXXX-XXXX = phone number).
But my phone automatically splits the numbers in a terrible way, like:
AAA-XXX-XXXXX, or AA-XXX-XXX-XX
Is that the default pattern for Europe? (I have the Euro I9000 unlocked model)
Does anyone know any means to change or even remove this split pattern?
Thank you sooo much!
Paulo
I would love to know this as well! Here in the Philippines we split cellphone numbers like this: 09XX-XXXX-XXX or 09XX-XXX-XXXX or something to that effect. The first 2 X digits are operator dependent. My friends who play with my phone always find it so odd and the obsessive compulsive in me doesn't like how it's displayed either!
Would love to find some sort of quick fix to this! Oddly enough, this only happens when I add contacts manually by typing in their numbers. The one's I added by just using the add to contacts option when they text me with a new number display as a single block of numbers instead! Not as bad as the odd splitting my phone does by default, but I'd still prefer splitting the numbers appropriately. It looks better that way in my humble opinion.
My Galaxy S is from Singapore.
Sorry for the bump.
But can anyone help us with this?
Is it CSC related?
Or maybe there is a secret code to set the pattern?
Thanks,
Paulo
Hello Everyone! I have the same problem of course, having bought a Brazilian unit GT-I9000B. On the Samsung Omnia, I managed to change that using SKTools. Is there a SKTools equivalent to fidle the SGS?
Thanks
Hi! I'm on darky's 9.4 and i can't send mms.. i don't know why it is like this but do anyone of you know a fix for it? =) thanks!
Check your mobile carriers APN values. Then go into your phones settings.
Wireless & network>Mobile networks>Access Point Names.
Make sure all the values are correct.
Where can I find those values?
Who is your mobile carrier? What region? Where's your google skills?
I'll see what I can find, I just need the info.
cheers for being so awesome
Mobile carrier is Telenor in sweden

Select your region and network, and make sure those values are correct.
I did that but still, it just keep saying ''Sending'' and nothing happens :/
When you went in to the Access Point Names section of the phone, did you adjust the values in both sections? There is an Internet section, and an MMS section.
If that doesn't solve your issue I have no idea what it could be. Might be a rom issue. If you still can't get it working, maybe ask someone in Darky's thread in the development section.
I did it on both.. :/ I'm realy greatfull that you tried. You're great!
I'm sorry I couldn't help you out with your problem, and you are welcome.
If I can think of anything else it could be, I'll post it here.
Thank's alot
I think I may have found something...
Dial this code into your dialer.
*#1234#
What does it say next to CSC?
thanks alot
sorry bout the wierd second ''thanks alot'' reply.. i didn't notice that a second comment tab opened up.. anyway it says : I9000OXXJS1
Hey, no worries weirdo
We're going to try something.
I need you to go to Settings>About Phone>Status. Write down your imei number.
Then in your dialer, dial this code. *#272*imei#* (your number goes where imei is)
Tell me what 3 letter code is selected for your phone. Do not touch anything yet. To leave that menu just back out with the back button.
it says XEN
I have a white "1" symbol in a grey box in my notification bar.
Ive had the phone for just over a week and im sure its been there the whole time.
Its not a calendar notification (colour of icon is wrong) as I havent used the calendar.
The manual for the phone doesnt list this icon at all.
An old thread elsewhere suggested it might by a telephone line indicator. I have a bog standard Virgin contract...nothing special there. So I doubt its that.
Does anyone have any ideas. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have seen this when you have two phones with the same or cloned sim card
