So it's time to buy some books for college, and this time I'm leaning on buying used ones on Amazon to save some money (it would cost me $450 when I buy new ones).
I have good experience from Amazon itself but I haven't purchased anything from a seller that's not Amazon. Should I just buy new ones on Amazon to be sure? Please post your experience if you have tried buying used ones.
I'm long past college age, but a couple of years a go I wanted to brush up on some elementary music theory. I ordered a college textbook that I had used previously, thru amazon, and like everything else I've ever ordered from Amazon, no regrets whatsoever.

Was the seller Amazon itself?
This is what I hate about education, the books are really expensive.

No ............
Oh, well I hope things go well because all the used books are not from Amazon.
Got a few. Just like ebay. You have buyer protection form Amazon.
Also What I did for 2 of mine was find the pdfs and put them on my iPad. No help now since I got dismissed. lol
I have ordered numerous books from amazon and other sellers on amazon and i was happy with them. Other thing is i also trade in my text books on amazon since they pay pretty good price for some text books. And other alternative is to rent books frok bookrenter / chegg / half. com
yup. Shipping was a lot. Texts are heavy as f***!

Yes I just sold my first textbook on eBay as well... I got 14$ profit and the rest are shipping fees (9~$) and eBay fees (1.5$~). I regret it.
Sucks to sell books online, I would recommend to sell it to second hand bookshops because that way you get more profit without having to pay for shipping fees.
As for buyers, online is most likely cheaper...

Oh and you can register as Amazon student for free and receive six months of free 2 day shipping... how awesome is that. For USA only...

I will quickly find myself on Ebay instead of Amazon for most case.
People seem to get better deal on Ebay more often than Amazon.
Just bought some. Check out bigwords.com. It's an aggregate site that scours every available website for the lowest overall cost for your books. Kind of like a kayak.com for textbooks.

Well, I was going to buy a Nexus 7 with the $15 J&R coupon, but they don't have it anymore.
Is there any other place in the US where I can get it cheaper? No tax would be great, NY stores have no tax for me since I live in NJ.
General consensus is Sam's Club, though I don't know if you can get it without a membership...
Membership is required. I picked up mine this morning. They had a bunch of them, priced at $246.
you can try http://slickdeals.net/f/4882390-Nexus-7-w-no-tax-free-shipping-at-Macmall
I've posted some deals here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1761566
so far office depot has the best deal for me.. including tax and free shipping is $267.49
I included a free $15 gas card coupon you can use.
if you use bigcrumbs.com to order you get additional 4.2% cash back
so total 267.49 - $15 gas card - $11.23 cash back = $241.26 shipped.

BigCrumbs?
I'm surprised no one knew about the gamestop deal (found out from the nx7 gamestop thread on slickdeals)
for a while they were offering an additional 30% on trade ins if you're using it towards the nx7
I bought 2 iPod touches off craigslist for 60 and 65 for 125 total
traded them into gamestop for $240 on credit
so I got my nx7 for about 150 OTD (after taxes)
screaming deal for the latest tablet. I think gamestop reduced trade in values but increased the bonus to 50%
took me about an hour total worth of work (includes searching craigslist and meeting people up)
granted, I live where craigslist originated... San Francisco bay area

yea, bigcrumbs.com. If you've heard of Fatwallet, it's similar. It offers cash back for your purchase from various vendors.
Please use the 'not the Play Store' sticky for further discussion.

I'm assuming you're meaning for sale in physical stores, right ?! Because Ebuyer UK already shipped a few hundred pre orders last Friday. Got mine this morning.

Got an email from PC World to say they are processing my order today, hopefully being shipped tomorrow. Pre-ordered mine online.
Hey mate,
Ive been checking for a good few days now. Last week HMV said they would have it on the 16th, so i preordered with them, but went yesterday and they couldn't give me a straight answer on when they would be getting stock.
Pc World/Currys didn't even have a clue whilst carphone warehouse said it would be a few months for them. There also seems to be no advertising for it, although, the nexus 7 was plastered all over the newspapers from Google themselves asking to visit Google Play.
fyi, this was in central London

There is a sticky covering third-party retailers that sell the Nexus 7

About as costly as TreeGloo and Portenzo, a bit more customizable, WIRED12 gets you 20% off at checkout.
So check it.

Quite expensive.. Can you post review once you got and used it?
Thanks
Agreed and definitely.

Infinitely more customizable, but the securing mechanism seems a little more intrusive on the device's front than the portenzo and treegloo cases.
I may end up with one of these as well as the portenzo depending on reviews. Any idea if it has a sleep/wake magnet built in?

No, and that's definitely a huge known risk I took. It doesn't mention it anywhere on their site, and I did little to no other homework aside prior to ordering (I figured I'd just give another case option a shot and report).
Thankfully, I also ordered the Blurex case, so I figure if this is terrible I've got something - and if this is great, but doesn't have the sleep/wake magnet built in, I have somewhere to do a little precision surgery and harvest one.
Also, mine was $40 (USD) when all was said and done, including shipping, after using the promo code.
This is nice looking. There is a coupon code now for 10 dollars off (summer2012). Any idea how long it takes to get it after ordering?

From my best estimation based on the handful of reviews I've read, and their shipping policy, about 12 days.
Once i have it and have a chance to review it, I'll include everything in terms of options chosen, final price, and time from order to arrival.
I'll also post comparison shots with the Blurex, and if anyone wants to see it from a certain profile, feel free to ask and I'm happy to accommodate.
I bought one already. I really don't want to wait almost two weeks though : (

Shipped today (6 days after order, with a weekend in the middle).
Hoping it will arrive this week.
I missed the cyber Monday yesterday to snag one because my account didn't have enough funds and it was to late to add any.. I tried looking online anywhere but is there anyone who has it for cheaper than 45.. All I'm finding it 58 + now..

thats BS i paid 58.60$ and its not coming intill Dec. 19 and i paid 3.99 for overnight shipping called customer service and apparently its coming from mc techy and it said sandisk so im not so sure how that happened but apparently it would cost them too much to send just one to warehouse versus a pack of them. thats why most are being backordered.
Today Sprint confirmed that they will be carrying the Nexus 5 on launch day November 8th. Sprint will be charging 149.99 with a 2 year service contract with unlimited talk text and data for 80 bucks a month.

So what's their off contract price?
From the looks 549.99

I'm definitely not buying this from Sprint directly. Just found out from their pre-order that their off contract price is/will be $449.99, $50 more than the Play Store price. B.S.

It's actually $100 more than the play store since Sprint is only carrying the 16gb version which is $349 at the play store.

...and that's why "subsidised" phone prices w/an exorbitant (and next to useless) contract are a joke... Carriers make out like bandits on that ****, and I wonder exactly what you get for $50/m, Sprint is pretty crap around here datawise, coverage is OK for everything else but T-mo(have them for now, monthly) and Verizon(if they had sanely priced/useful plans I'd go Verizon, awesome coverage even WTF out in the boondocks of the UP) easily do better, hell even AT&T does better here although my sister's phone does ALOT of dropping.
