Cheapest Nexus 7 Price? - Nexus 7 General

Well, I was going to buy a Nexus 7 with the $15 J&R coupon, but they don't have it anymore.
Is there any other place in the US where I can get it cheaper? No tax would be great, NY stores have no tax for me since I live in NJ.

General consensus is Sam's Club, though I don't know if you can get it without a membership...

Membership is required. I picked up mine this morning. They had a bunch of them, priced at $246.

you can try http://slickdeals.net/f/4882390-Nexus-7-w-no-tax-free-shipping-at-Macmall

I've posted some deals here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1761566
so far office depot has the best deal for me.. including tax and free shipping is $267.49
I included a free $15 gas card coupon you can use.
if you use bigcrumbs.com to order you get additional 4.2% cash back
so total 267.49 - $15 gas card - $11.23 cash back = $241.26 shipped.

BigCrumbs?

I'm surprised no one knew about the gamestop deal (found out from the nx7 gamestop thread on slickdeals)
for a while they were offering an additional 30% on trade ins if you're using it towards the nx7
I bought 2 iPod touches off craigslist for 60 and 65 for 125 total
traded them into gamestop for $240 on credit
so I got my nx7 for about 150 OTD (after taxes)
screaming deal for the latest tablet. I think gamestop reduced trade in values but increased the bonus to 50%
took me about an hour total worth of work (includes searching craigslist and meeting people up)
granted, I live where craigslist originated... San Francisco bay area

yea, bigcrumbs.com. If you've heard of Fatwallet, it's similar. It offers cash back for your purchase from various vendors.

Please use the 'not the Play Store' sticky for further discussion.

diamond 2 in the uk

i'm currently on orange and my contract is now up, i'm now due an upgrade, so after some thought i have decided i'm going to have a touch diamond 2 over the touch hd.
over the weekend i went round in the shops of orange vodaphone & O2 looking for one of these phones on contract, but while in each store staff all told me the same thing, they were not getting the phone.
can this be right does anyone know which uk network providers will be carrying this phone?
I saw somewhere on the internet that Orange was getting it, then other Uk networks would as well, but I don't know if this was wishful thinking or the poster had heard for real!?!
See here: http://www.articlesbase.com/cell-phones-articles/htc-touch-diamond-2-sim-free-873916.html
On Online, two Retailers sell contracts (As I know)
1. Mobilephonesdirect
2. Expansys
Two retailers sell T-mobile and Vodafone contracts and Mobilephonesdirect has more tariffs than Expansys.
Carphonewarehouse and Phones4U list it as coming soon (in May), so u don't have to wait long hopefully.

Yeah i got mine from MPD, ordered on Friday and arrived on Saturday....Can't complain
It was free with a t-mob contract £30 a month with 800 minutes any network and unlimited texts....added the unlimited internet (excluding VOIP) for an extra £6 a month (think it's limited to 3gb but i can still use my phone as a modem for my laptop which i'm doing now) If it's not enough, then you can get the upgrade to the max for 12 a month and then you get 10gb a month

[Q] Anyone want to buy a spare battery?

I received this one via Best Buy's Black Tie In Plan, but I don't really need a spare battery. I haven't used much.
I will mail it to you for $7 including shipping via PayPal.
Please PM me with your PayPal address if you're interested.

Sold it to a XDA member, thinking I would only need one first class mail stamp, but it was sent back to me by the post office, asking me to put $1.27 more stamps.
Is anyone else interested buying battery for $7 including shipping? I will have to go through eBay though because I don't have time to go to the post office and the only way to print first class mail label online now is through eBay sales... unless someone can enlighten me an idea.
Please PM me if you're interested. This is barely used because I have 2 Samsung battery that I use and I only got this spare battery because I thought it was such a waste to pay $50+ for Best Buy Black Tie w/o using any services.
just go to the post office?
Well.. I already said that I don't have time to go to the Post Office on my first post.. I have school pretty much everyday from 1030 am to 5-6 pm.

I don't drive so that's $5 for both ways on the bus and 2 hours of sleep. I end up losing more money and time. School has started 3 weeks ago and I haven't even gone out even once to even buy groceries. I've been literally overpaying whatever I can get within school....
Well, I'm not sure if I can create a label within PayPal if I receive the money as sale (goods).
$2 for a cup of yoplait... vs like 10 for $7 at Safeway.....

Anyone have any experience on buying used textbooks on Amazon?

So it's time to buy some books for college, and this time I'm leaning on buying used ones on Amazon to save some money (it would cost me $450 when I buy new ones).
I have good experience from Amazon itself but I haven't purchased anything from a seller that's not Amazon. Should I just buy new ones on Amazon to be sure? Please post your experience if you have tried buying used ones.
I'm long past college age, but a couple of years a go I wanted to brush up on some elementary music theory. I ordered a college textbook that I had used previously, thru amazon, and like everything else I've ever ordered from Amazon, no regrets whatsoever.

Was the seller Amazon itself?
This is what I hate about education, the books are really expensive.

No ............
Oh, well I hope things go well because all the used books are not from Amazon.
Got a few. Just like ebay. You have buyer protection form Amazon.
Also What I did for 2 of mine was find the pdfs and put them on my iPad. No help now since I got dismissed. lol
I have ordered numerous books from amazon and other sellers on amazon and i was happy with them. Other thing is i also trade in my text books on amazon since they pay pretty good price for some text books. And other alternative is to rent books frok bookrenter / chegg / half. com
yup. Shipping was a lot. Texts are heavy as f***!

Yes I just sold my first textbook on eBay as well... I got 14$ profit and the rest are shipping fees (9~$) and eBay fees (1.5$~). I regret it.
Sucks to sell books online, I would recommend to sell it to second hand bookshops because that way you get more profit without having to pay for shipping fees.
As for buyers, online is most likely cheaper...

Oh and you can register as Amazon student for free and receive six months of free 2 day shipping... how awesome is that. For USA only...

I will quickly find myself on Ebay instead of Amazon for most case.
People seem to get better deal on Ebay more often than Amazon.
Just bought some. Check out bigwords.com. It's an aggregate site that scours every available website for the lowest overall cost for your books. Kind of like a kayak.com for textbooks.

Is there any benefit buying it from Google Play?

Just to clarify, is there any particular benefit from ordering it from Google, as opposed to Ebuyer for example?
Certainly is to me.
If I have a problem, I don't want some other company in the middle.
I don't think you get the extra's like the £15 credit & the film unless you buy from Google.
Okay, so the £9 I could save getting it from Ebuyer is not really worth it?
ebuyer seem to suggest we do get the £15 credit - I didn't notice it when I ordered, I think it's been added since.

However, I cannot seem to find the footnote for the asterisk besides the line stating the £15 voucher :/
Yeah there's no footnote that I can see either. I'm sure they'll soon open a discussion thread for it, and plenty of people will be asking. I made the decision to order it from ebuyer not expecting to get the credit but it will be a nice bonus if I do. Delivery time was more important to me.
I couldn't find the * as well but if you look at the banner on the right hand side it doesn't show one
I used quidco and got 2% cash back (£4). Not much but every bit helps.
£196 for the tablet with £15 credit and free delivery. :good:
The credit and freebies seem
to be included with US retail sales. (Staples advertises the credit). I'm guessing that sales out of the US may or may not include them - but that there will be no difference between Google Play or third party sellers.
I assume that the main advantage is delivery time.
Google is presumably walking a tightrope, trying to both ensure consumer access to its hardware with Play, and trying to not undercut the retail channels it is wooing.
D'oh - Well spotted
This is the sort of discussion the stickies are for.

Buy on!

It's worth paying a bit extra to have the 1 year warranty go through Google instead of LG.
I am seeing them in my area go for 250 to 325 depending on the version on Craigslist in mint condition. Might grab one of these as a backup.

Personally I never keep phones more than a year so this doesn't really persuade my purchases. But thanks for noting that.

It is the same 1 year warranty when from Google or otherwise,it is LG's warranty. You get Google's effort in front which is worth something, but for us in California buying from Google is $444.90 delivered vs this deal a $385 delivered is 15% more than taking this dealer or LG's warranty. Given failure rates are low for N5 I don't see the justification for 15% higher.
