[Q] Squad Cm7 RC5.0.1 vs Subpsyke Cm7 RC0 - Samsung Galaxy Mini

These are 2 of the best Cm7 Builds for our Galaxy Mini
I would like to ask your opinions which among these 2:
1. Subpsyke Cm7 RC0 with hotfixes
or
2. Squadzone Cm7 RC5
Is most commonly used by XDA People
In terms of :
* Stableness
- Less Lag
- Less Bug
- Less Battery Consumption
- Etc.
Please post your comment below...
Thanks.

I use Subpsyke
Cm7 RC0 once and i have some bugs
now i am using Squad Cm7 RC5 and no bugs for the moment so i will stay on Squad RC5

cm7.2.0 rc0 v1.1,
Sent from my GT-S5570 using XDA App

i think squad rc5 is better...
that's only my opinion!!!

Now Im using cm7 by squadz....
But I think cm7 by supbsyke more stable...
Note: actually no need to compare which one is better than another because of this problem sense ...
Beda lidah beda rasa man....
Big thanks 4 all dev's..
Sent from telephone coin..

Better try both of them yourself.. so you'll experience and get the feel of both roms. Subpsyke's cm7 as he said is pure cm, closest to tjstyle's. Squad's cm7 is modified cm mixed with tablet features. You can also see the difference in the Performance settings. Squad added a lot of tweaks. So, it's up to you..
Sent from my S5570 CM7 RC0 v1.1

Yeah that's true now i use cm7 by Subpsyke but now i want to try cm7 rc 5.1 by Squad
if you have problem with the drain battrey, just set the brightnest to 10%, it's more effective

Which ROM has a better battery life and is more stable? Subspyke' s or Squadzone' s RC 5.2?
Now using Squad' s RC4 but my battery drains very quickly, searching for a ROM that has a better battery live. But I really like CyanogenMod' s very differsent look from stock GB. So I would prefer CyanogenMod over a stock-based ROM
And yes, I know how to save my battery, I always have bluetooth and GPS off. I always set the phone on flight modus when I don't need the phone function. I always turn of WiFi when I don't use it. Always have the CPU underclocked at 480mHz max. And when I don't use the phone (when in standby) I use the "powersave" governor. And still my battery drains very fast! And I also always have brightness of the screen at absolute minimum!

Battery life in my sgm could last about 2 days using squadzone's rc5.2. But i set my network to gsm only, check use 2G networks only, and use this app called Easy Battery Saver. It can be found in the market and its 'super power saving mode' is incredible. Why don't you try it? =)

IMO subspyke's version is far better than squad's - it's more stable, it doesn't cause random issues with WiFi/3G I had on RC5 and it runs far smoothier than RC5.
I got 2292pts in AnTuTu with subspyke's ROM with 787MHz OC

Got a similar score as well with subpsyke's cm7.. too bad my mini can only handle 787 tops.. OCing further just makes it reboot..

Same for me, can't get past 787
Benchmark scores are similar in both versions, but I got weird problems with switching on and off WiFi and/or 3G. Also setting brightness was a bit buggy for me, so I decided to try subspyke's ROM.
I found it as efficient as squadzone's but without all the weird problems, so I decided to stay with it for the moment

Haha that made me stay with rc0 too.. squad is working very hard though and I can't catch up with his updates.. so I'll just wait once he releases a stable and bugless (or there might still be a few ) rom..

[Q] Current Fastest ROM for Milestone???

Hi Guys,
I am currently running the CM7 ROM (7.1.0.6 Milestone-KANG) on my Milestone. While the ROM is much better and faster than the stock ROM it still gets slow and laggy sometimes (Overclocked to 800 MHz).
Please let me know which the are fastest Gingerbread based ROMs out there and is there anything else that can be done to increase the responsiveness of the device.
Cheers...
Chander
Try HO!NO 7.1.1. It is build from kabaldan source, Android 2.3.7 and I love it
Zatapatalkowane z MotoStone'a
Ultimate Milestone (formerly Ice and Fire) is the fastest ROM i've used.
i used ultimate mod (ice and fire) but switchted to HO!NO! then.
i had trouble with minfree settings (check thread) that it killed my apps...
HO!NO! is even faster, more beautiful (i love this ICS design and transitions) and reliable (not killing any app). i only had to adjust permissions in OR once.
I must disagree with you guys. Ho!NO! ROM is very RAM consuming.
OK it looks nice but the phone is slow and lags a lot.
Stock froyo ROM with setcpu works faster, you must admit it.
I flashed my milestone with HO!NO! after reading this thread but i`m dissapointed.
I think I`ll give a try with a vanilla cyanogenmod
@up, apply Supercharger from zeppelinrox with best settings that fits for you and then try

where i find vanilla cm rom to milestone?
Ultimate Milestone (formerly Ice and Fire), is my best. Only complaint was camera (as with any CM7 based), then downloaded MIUI Camera and I'm done!
If you are open to something else.... the FASTEST rom out there is by far TelusLite (eclair and no longer developed) but if you want brute speed... that is the way to go.
Enviado desde mi Milestone usando Tapatalk
i used CM6 from milaq 6.3.x - 6.3.4).... very fast and "low" RAM usage
then switched to CM7... it works well too but i feel the RAM usage when opening apps like MAPS to navigate or want to play some games. navigation browser and apps may close without warning...
then tried again milaqs CM6 (6.3.6)... it was ok but RAM usage is not good as the versions before...
i recommend milaqs 6.3.3 or 6.3.4... these two are ok, fast and you can use the most apps withouts errors.... and with supercharger you can get 60-70MB free RAM
IMHO, HO!NO! is the fastest ROM with moderate amount of RAM. I've tried all other ROMs like CM7, Ultimate Milestone, CM6, Cronos, MIUI... but they couldn't meet my need as HO!NO! does.
Ok it was like 2.3 works pretty smooth on the outside but gets really lag when you actully use any apps. 2.2 roms are much better but there's always a hard choice on which 2.2 is better since now most developers are focusing on 2.3

This is true! i try all and HO!NO! is the best!
Regards,
I am currently using CM9 RC0 (built from source myself) and must say, despite the very early status I like it even better than the excellent CM7.1! It still has a few issues (e.g. keyboard backlight and camera don't work, though I think there is a fix for the former), however, overall, it feels much smoother to me. As always with our old Milestones, the biggest issue is memory... When limiting background apps to two, I have very little issues with that anymore.
Keep in mind though that this ROM is not intended for daily use, so you need to be as crazy as I am (remember, no camera)
can i use the HO!NO! in my Motorola Droid A855?
i recommend HO!NO! for milestone.. it works smooth and fast.. of course it comes with a great battery life

Not unless he's made a Droid version as well. Milestone and Droid ROMS are not interchangeable.
Thanks Guys!!!
Thanks a lot guys for your suggestions. i tried most of the ROMs but found Ho! No! to be the fastest. Even at 600 MHz the ROM is quite fast and smooth.
In fact I have been having a small problem with Ho! No! ROM. I am in India on AIRTEL 3G. Whenever I switch to 2G Network I tend to loose signal and after sometime the signal gets completely lost. If I remain in 3G only everything works fine but battery usage is obviously more. Moreover, recently after HO! NO! CM 7.1.3 I am not getting 3G speeds while internet browsing while being on 3G network.
Do I need to change my radio according to India (where to find the same and how to do it?)
I didn't have any such problems on CM 7!!!

Whats the best rom for now?

Hey,
at the moment im running nightlies latest version.
But im searching for something more stable, and maby faster.
Its hard to folow witch one is the best there are so many different once.
So Someone who tried most of em? With one is the best
Tnx allready!

Hi I'm using Gueste 2.1 (with SR1 kernel, Go Launcher and the ICS theme from the subforum). Overall it's a great ROM, the battery use graph says i'm using it for 4 days (2G, 45min wifi, 25min calls and some photos) with 1 charge . That's insane, i've only managed to get 1.5-2 days with stock. Speed is better than stock, but it is not buttery smooth in Settings menu. I'm waiting for Gueste 2.2 with the new kernel, developer says it will be smoother. Hope i helped!
Well, instead of running cm nightlies you could try CM7.2 kangs those are better than the nightlies and also more stable.

You people that have the option to turn 3g off are lucky my network forces it so if its switched off i lose network coverage, they only allow 2g switch if your not in a 3g zone which is rare so my battery gets eaten in a day.
i agree eith you. cm 7.2 is real stable, but sometimes i got bsod. its real smooth and fast. im not turning off my wifi. battery life is not so good.imho

Hello!
Define best rom!?!
It is last but not least a question of taste.
All the latest ROMs (CM7.2-RC0-KANGs, MIUI 12+, custom roms based on stock source V20m and up) seem to be pretty stable…
All have their pros and cons.
MIUI has a UI concept similar to iOS – if you like that – go for it…
CM7.2 has a more vanilla approach of gingerbread…
…or a stock source based rom (i.e. Gueste2x) with the look and feel of the original LG stuff, but with more speed and less bugs…
All these latest roms will do for everyday use.
I like CM7 most but that is just my cup of tea.
oke peaple tnx for your reactions !

you have to try, cause every phone is different.
for example: tried glitch and its draining the battery. semaphore or midnight works perfectly. in my opinion its semaphore.
using tiramisu 1.8 which is one of the best ics roms at the moment i think.
I am also on tiramisu (1.9) and semaphore works great. Tried also the Devil and the Midnight Kernel. But went back to semaphore again, because with my normal til light usage and in my opinion, he feels faster and battery is great.

ok here is my review
WeUI 1.0 ROM
i have 86user apps, 78system apps,
running which whole day 3G Data connecting,
using xperia launcher, Live wallpaper, browsing internet using default browser and Opera,
Set background process limited to 4
no Low Memory Killer,
Tried OC to 1.14Ghz as well(live OC tune 15% on 1Ghz)
No weather apps running
Google's location service ON
Scheduler: Simple I/O
Governor: ondemand
Deep idle: on, but most in my case, top.on-yes top.off-no
Semaphore Kernel 1.1.1s
Touch awake: 4
Feedback respon: 4
Lagless Feel: 3.5
Gaming Feel: 3.5
Battery Duration: 4
review: it work most best to me, but the only bad thing is Wifi Tetthering(need on of the network filter on off to make it work), i cant remember which previous version feed me best...
Devil Kernel2 0.79(3.1.10)
Touch awake: 3.5
Feedback respon: 3
Lagless Feel: 3
Gaming Feel: 2.5 (will be beter a bit if Scheduler changed vr)
Battery Duration: 2.5
review: most the default setting(changing around Governorndemand/smartassv2(i wont use batterysave as it slow down my phone) scheduler:SIO/VR/deadline) is not saving power either or try self setting in live OC yourself
MNICS Kernel 202
Touch awake: 3.5
Feedback respon: 3
Lagless Feel: 2(horible)
Gaming Feel: - (not going to try)
Battery Duration: 3
review: well... i wont use it, its not suit me at all(maybe it not suit to my current rom)
Overall: well it most depant on what your ROM and what you need. some people say kernelA LAG not good, but some people say kernelA running well in this and that. But no detail info about it, example for comparing Kernel with:
-3G on/off? (i usually on)
-Wifi on/off? (not open most of the time)
-the number of apps installed and running behind? (mine is 86+78)
-draining battery apps running(etc:facebook, email with no pop3,weather app)? (not for me, just use it when needed)
-Google's location services ON/off? (mine on)
-Is that Touch sounds and Screen Lock Sound turn off?(this one important so mine off)
-apps on SD or where? (still no on comparing this, although all is under internel memory, but you must know the ROM setting are still different this should be most important... but still not so important for normal user Lolz)

well... you have to try out yourself(im agree with flashinjoe), u wont know until you try and make it feet best yours setting and ROM~ all these kernel above is working on all apps with no FC for me.
Still, +1 to semaphore...(just tested devil, now wanna change back to semaphore)
Cheer~
I'm currently using Glitch on AOKP and have found it to be pretty fantastic. OC to 1.2 and haven't really had any issues at all. GPS works reasonably well. Battery is very impressive.
Previous to that I was using Semaphore, which was also fantastic. It has alot of tweaking options. The GPS wasn't as great (though I have been flashing different modems since I switched, so that might be why).
So honestly, I think they are both great kernels. Both appear to be updated frequently as well.

Go check out the Semaphore ICS thread. It's the same as any kernel really. Download, go to CWM and flash that bad boy.
Changed to Tiramisu 0.9.5 and found that i had almost 80% near to the feel that gingerbread had, the speed... the feel... but not the battery... now i think i will stick tiramisu awhile lol.... btw I'm using semaphore and feel the battery consumptions is a bit higher then the previous ROM... will check back later~

[Q] Best rom + kernel for battery life on p990

Hi guys,
i want to know the best rom + kernel for a long battery life in 3g with our lg p990
now i mount the last MIUI 2.4.20 + kernel etana OC with all profile setted, and in 2g i can cover all the day, remaining about 20/30 % before midnight
in 3g instead, with an intensive use, in 6 hours, the battery drain to 5/10%
i have the BB of v20q, the 725
what are your results in 3g?..wich rom you mount to reach them with?
thanks in advance

1 day 21hours with wifi on and medium usage? are you f**king kidding me... not in a million years stop bulls**ting please.
i dont know about wi-fi turned on, but i have been trying both misjugedtwats\temaseks kangs with etana 3.0.31 and djangos 1.3 beta 15 with spicas horsepower supersonic 10 and they both last for about 2 days, sometimes almost 3. tho i always have data turned off (unless i receive an mms) wi fi hardly ever on but i do play some games tho especialy dead space and asphalt 6
oh i was thinking, for a normal use, you can always try using it with a lower clock, i found out you can even run any hardcore game on the market on this phone at 800 mhz without any lag
also if you guys complain about battery life on o2x, you should try the optimus black, i had 1 for about a month and the battery lasts for about half of the time the o2x battery does and thats funny if you consider it has less than half the performance on an o2x plus the fact that the p970 was at stock clock and my p990 is oc'd to 1.4 ghz, but then again, i read somewhere that tegra is a lot more energy eficient than any other mobile cpu out there (idk if its true tho)
Replaced the baseband to 313 on my stock Gingerbread 2.3.4 LG 2x and the phone had still 20% left after 1 day of light use, always with 3G network coverage, no switching to 2G.
And I have WiFi, data plus GPS enabled all the time. The phone only uses these technologies if needed, no reason to manually turn them on or off.

i prefere to stay "stock" at CM7.2 + CM Kernel. CM 7.2 gives me a good performence, battery life and stability.
Update it to 20S with Lg mobile. I noticed a minor battery drain than 20Q.
I tested hundreds of custom roms/kernels and I can say that I drained at least two years of my battery life looking for the best rom/kernel which could save battery.

I tested many roms/kernels but few basebands; somebody wrote that bb doesn't impact on battery, I don't know, maybe everything does.
Here there are many developers-and-sellers who say that using their kernel you can save some percentage of your battery. But at the end of the day I want to charge the phone anyway because I want to work with it the day after; who cares of how much battery is left? maybe it is a fake problem.
After all these tests with inconsistent results I decided to stop and to keep the LG standard release: no more wasting time, no more backup-restore and no more battery drain with Clockworkmod vibrations.

best gingerbread rom and kernel with great perfomance and battery life?

please share
is there any custom gingerbread rom with bloatware removed and big free ram? and a kernel with OC/UV? plus great game compability?
how about MIUI?
Have yet to find one to best DjangoMouche 1.2.1 its GB 2.3.4 its customized, with different themes to choose from and a good bunch of performance tweaks. everything has been running smooth.
games run well, things load fast
I'm using Gueste overclock v1.8.1 kernel but thats up to choice. i found it works great between 900 - 1300mhz. but above that its rebooted on me a few times.
You could try Temasek's CM7 Rom with it's own kernel, it has OC/UV and all that things.. Run's pretty smooth and stable but i can recommend you to use GO Launcher EX with an ICS Theme :good:

Currently on DJ 1.5RC1 and have to say it is truly magical. The feel of performance, smoothness and speed is just incredible.Always try to experiment with other GB roms and always drawn back to DJ ROM.DJ roms provide many choices according to our needs and customization as we like with transformation packs. So have to say this is the best choice i will ever have:cyclops:
Same here, Django Manouche, currently 1.5 RC1, but I am using latest spica kernel ;-)
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk 2
Hi, this is my first post here. I have been flashing various roms and a few basebands and rils in my quest to get better battery life from my LG Optimus 2x. In the end. Most of what I have done is experimental and I can not say I understand much about versions and combinations. Last night, I read quite a few posts about the Django Manouche rom and downloaded all the three versions of the 1.6, the stock, the Spica and the Gueste.
Flashing led to boot looping on the Spica rom, powering off on the Gueste rom while on the stock 1.6s it ran OK, with some applications not running until I rebooted.
I came from a stock LG rom and was wondering if I need to change the baseband and kernel also, for these to work.
Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.
I think these "best rom" threads are forbidden but I'll give my 2 cents anyway, in case I'm wrong:
for me the best rom is Gueste Hybrid revolutions 3.7, is a hybrid between stock Rom and cm7.2, and symbiosis kernel 1.3.
I get great performance, great battery life, great ram management. I can't really complain, I'm so satisfied that I'm not that eager to get ICS (at least not as much as I was before).
LG optimus 2x, rom Gueste Hybrid 3.7
@daas88. Taking your advice, I have flashed the same combination as you, just this morning. I have been very active on the phone since then, so I can't tell right away, if there is any improvement in battery life.
By the way, I continue to be on the 20i baseband.
I shall report back soon.
Temasek
Probably the cleanest install would be Temasek. A very stable CM7 build. It's sort of finished, and offers a great experience. Use it with Temasek's, Spica's or symbi0sis kernel.
I've tried DM and it's great, but this just feels cleaner.

I have been reading about the Temasek rom. What is your view on its battery consumption? That is something I am focussing on. The stock LG set up lasts for about 9-11 hours on my phone, with full 3G, about 4 hours of wifi usage and about 1-2 hour of music (Neutron music player). I have a battery pack that I carry with me to work, but it is a big bother.
So, basically, to me battery life is top priority. If I can extend it to 12-15 hours, I am home and dry.
I've used Temasek for a long period of time, and though I don't want to go back to gingerbread (currently on Paranoid Android) I do miss the battery life. With Temasek (or stock CM7) I would get about 32 hours of battery life: a day and a night. This with some browsing, playing music checking e-mail.
Overclocking would lose you some of that time, but the toggle2g app would win it back. :good:

Probably the cleanest install would be Temasek. A very stable CM7 build. It's sort of finished, and offers a great experience. Use it with Temasek's, Spica's or symbi0sis kernel.
I've tried DM and it's great, but this just feels cleaner.

Increased CPU performance, larger screen and stagnated battery technology will do this
As for battery life, I do miss my Nokia 3210!
A small update. I charged my phone to 100% yesterday evening at 7 PM. From then on till now, what I observe is that with the phone in standby mode, the battery consumption curve remains almost flat. But the moment I start using some apps, for instance the Number links game for 15-20 minutes, the battery level drops by 10%.
This is with the Gueste Hybrid ROM and the Symbiosis kernel.
Further update: The battery went to 14% and then I charged it. 15 hours. Some improvement. It may be too early to comment, but this set up seems to work superbly when the phone is on standby. When the phone is in use, the consumption seems to be high. Could it be improved by changing the BB or the ril?

The O2x doesn't have a larger screen than the Galaxy S. :cyclops:
my record was 6 hours of screen on time with a cm7 rom and etana kernel with ds battery driver. but now i cant get even 4h screen on time with the same config (only updated versions) :/
maybe my battery is getting worn out...

I'd try a new battery... I can get 8 hours screen on with wifi(depending on usage but screen and wifi on constantly). Temasek and symbi0sis...
