[Q] Help installing custom rom

Hi all
Flashed my phone as showed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068
Used latest shipped mango rom i found in the wiki (RUU_Schubert_S_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.04_Radio_5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE),
then my phone updated throug zune
Now I have
os - 7.10.8107.79
firmware - 2250.21.51101.401
bootloader - 5.11.2550.0
My initial intention for doing all this was to enable xapinstall, but being noob I didn't know I have to install custom rom for this.
Now i'm trying to install custom rom but i'm stuck at downgrading my bootlader - using the rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411904
I get ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
Any idea why and what are my options now

I recommend you use goldcard method to revert back :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893152&page=49
post 483 is the easiest to do the goldcard and please read all post CAREFULLY and understand it. I follow the goldcard method now i'm on custom rom with the bootloader 1.54

I dont know how much this can help but I'm from Europe too and had difficulties with downgrading the bootloader and installing a custom ROM (originally I just wanted to revert back to 7720 aka downgrading bootloader etc..)
I made a topic about it and got help from a really good Custom ROM builder, so maybe it helps you too!

you can try the goldcard method too if you want.

Hello - I want to sell my HTC HD T-Mobile branded phone. Before I do that I want to reset it back to it's original factory format. Either Pre-Nodo or Nodo is the preference or even if there is an original ROM from when the phone was first released.
Can someone point me to the right ROM? There are so many !

SPL 5 doesnt allow you to downgrade to a prenodo or nodo rom. use goldcard method posted here:

I over 5 weeks try to unlocked my HTC HD7 device but without any results
And I asked your help.
I have HTC HD7 with these details:

Firmware number :2250.21.51003.206

Bootloader : 5.11.2250.0(1234400)
Chip SOC version :2.2.2.0
Any ROM that I try to install the process stop on 0%

well sorry to say but you will never install any rom with bootloader 5.11
you have to install cotulla HSPL first and them rom

you have bootloader 5.11... first you have to downgrade HSPL to less the 3.x
have you done that?
you cant install HSPL or rom until you downgrade

after i downloaded RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.04_SLSPL_Signed_by_ansar i got the error message.

you get that error msg when rom is wrong region
you have to find earlier rom for your region
your Firmware number :2250.21.51003.206 last number...206 is your region
look for older stock rom ending in 206
try that....that should then downgrade your HSPL

I recently bought a new hd7 but while downgrade spl i half bricked my phone.
But using the goldcard method i was able to re alive my phone again.
you first see that what position is in your boot loader screen then you will use next methods. This goldcard method is for half bricked set where you will not see any serial option in bottom.
Your can use your device but can,not install rom anymore.

Well the process is -
Downgrade the SPL to at or below 3.xxx, (which is required to install RSPL/HSPL) since your SPL is 1.16, there is no need to downgrade the SPL any further and that is the hardest part of the whole process.
Download and install RSPL/HSPL from DFT for first Gen devices. Read through the post carefully and follow the directions, to avoid any damage to your device.

These are the only the methods for downgrading SPL 5.xxx
1. Goldcard method - requires Y cable, (either purchased or home made) card reader/flash drive, goldcard tool. Card reader seems to be more successful and use a 1gb to 4gb SD card, larger SD cards will work but need to formatted to FAT32 and partitioned.
Download a Pre-NoDo, Nodo specific rom and the goldcard tool. Put the rom on the SD card and patch it with the goldcard tool. Enter the device into USB host mode and make the proper Y cable connections, the flash process will start. SPL has to be downgraded to at or below 3.xxx to install RSPL/HSPL. Once that's achieved install RSPL/HSPL and then you can flash a custom rom of your choice. Make sure it has WiFi tethering feature.

2. Zune restore point by Zubair - If you undated your device from a Pre-Mango state then you can restore the device throught Zune. The restore won't downgrade the SPL, but the update process will when it installs Mango. The device will restart twice during the update process, once to change the SPL to 4.xxx and once to install Mango. You have immediately stop the update process after it installs Mango and before it installs the HTC Firmware update otherwise it will upgrade your SPLto 5.xxx again. From this point just follow Shadows tutorial and flash a PreNoDo/NoDo rom to downgrade the SPL to 3.xxx and then you can install RSPL/HSPL and then a custom rom.

[Q] Picked up a new HD7s T9295 and have questions

Hey guys, I picked up a new HD7s 9295 and have a few questions about this thing.
1st I'll tell you that it has the cingular radio 5.69.09.29a_22.50.50.21H.
The radio link here shows its not available.
Well I have it... can it be extracted? If so, how? Then we can add it to the radio collection.
The next thing I have a question on is installing a new ROM on it.
According to Cotulla here this phone has NO support for 4.XX and 5.XX bootloader... So do I have to downgrade SPL on this thing or what??
I've been reading the forums and am a bit confused on the proper process. I have done plenty of HD2 and BlueAngel ROMs but I'm new to HD7 phones.
Can anyone point me in the proper direction?

find out device's Bootloader version. Settings -> About -> More Info
make sure device's battery is greater than 60% before proceeding.
download task 00 and task 29, here and extract contents : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16370917&postcount=1
note. USB drivers may need install. e.g. Active Sync / Windows Mobile Device Center
continue to next Step according to Bootloader version...
if Bootloader version is 4.xx
download non-Test NoDo or Pre-NoDo Radio specific to your device, here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD7/Radios
extract the contents of the 7-zip.
turn off device. then while pressing the volume down button, boot your device.
device should be in Multi-Colored screen, which says 'Serial' in the white section.
connect device via USB to PC
device should now say 'USB' in the white section.
in the 'stock' folder of the extracted Radio, flash SPL_Signed.nbh using task 00.
note. this will also downgrade the Radio, as well as the SPL.
once flash successfully finishes, disconnect device from USB.
