[Q] Unlocking HTC HD7

Hello,
I want to unlock my phone HTC HD7. I've read a lot of threads regarding unlocking and as far as I understand, i need to downgrade my os to version 7008 ( my current OS version is 7392 ). I'm completly new at this so I wanted to post my phone specification so that someone could direct me, so that i don't mess anything up. I'm affraid of bricking my phone so please help me out.
My phone specs:
Model: HTC HD7 T9292
OS version: 7.0.7392.0
Firmware revision number: 2250.09.16901.207
Hardware revision number: 0002
Radio software version: 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U
Radion hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootloadrer version: 1.69.2250.0(117833)
Chip SOC versionL 2.2.5.0
DIM : PD20100 5VDC == 1A
I don't know what kind of ROM i have and I don't know where to check what it is. I've tried unlocking my phone with ChevronWP7 unlocker, i've installed the sertificate, but the unlocker doesn't recognize my phone.
P.S. Is there a way to unlock my phone with the current OS version on later, or do i nessesarly have to downgrade it first?

your bootloader is below 4.x (1.69) so you can flash whatever custom wp7 rom you want after having h/rspl your phone (go there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068)
chevron is working (with many conditions) on 7004/7008 roms only...so i suggest you to flash custom roms, should be more easy...

yes your bootloader is below 4.x, so you dont have to downgrade your HSPL....
but first you have to goto bootloader screen and check you model number !
and see if you can install HSPL from cotulla, if your model is not supported by cotulla HSPL then you cant do anything, like me, wait and prey cotulla releases more support

Which programs should I have and what is the process for unlocking? Could somenone post step-by-step instructions both for me and our other friends? i dont think you had 2 downgrade as your v7390 shouldnt have bootloader higher then 4.x... but any way,
first boot into bootloader and check model mids number?
step 1 check to see if your phone will accept Cotulla HSPL, if NOT you cant do anything !

once phone is off ... press power button and volume down
you should then enter bootloader screen... tri colour
tell me every thing you see there?

1, download hspl by cotulla
2, download custom rom
3, put phone into bootloader mode ,
4, then connect to pc
5, flash/install cotulla hspl
6, check hspl installed.... enter bootloader.... should now see hspl by cotulla
7, install custom rom

Now I have HSPL on my HD7 and I am trying to install Ansar's Schubert 1.69 unlock package. (check: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16297399#post16297399). But I can not pass to the U2M7720 installation since I use Windows XP and I can not install APPLICATION DEPLOYMENT on my computer (it is included in SDK 7.1 for Windows 7 and Vista and it is only designed for these 2 operating systems. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with XP).
So, my question is, what is the substitution for APPLICATION DEPLOYMENT that runs .xap files? I have to deploy U2M7720 to continue unlocking my HD7. I need your help guys! Thanks...

Hello everyone, I was also gonna ask about bootloader, but since gargamel has already asked, i just want to know if my phone is also able to have a custom rom . My specs are the same as gargamel35 except for SPL : mine is SPL-1.69.2250.0(117833). Thank you in advance!

Pd29110 ss-bc 4k spl -5.12.2250.0 135916 mng microp led 0 07 touch s1 v2.b, #1625 - sd sandisk 15193mb partition info -v211v413 but I called t mobile usa and they gave me my unlock code is that all I need to officialy unlock it ..then I can just go head and skip the spl n stuff and just install the custom rom? just like that or no? aslo ...I watched youtubes and they said in order to enter the unlock code just to unlock your phone u need to inert any non t mobile simcard in order to enter my code..to unlock tru? or there a way I can just enter it with my sim card .

you are talking about 2 diffrent things.
first one, you called t mobile and got unlock code, thats to unlock phone so you can now use any sim card with any mobile provider.
second , if you want custom rom then you still have to downgrade your RSPL/HSPL

ooooh okay..i see yea they are 2 differ totally things ....also I been looking up how to do custom roms for 2 months now still havnt figured it out I did learn a bit tho..but ya now I do no that I have to downgrade my os and bootlloader both together or can I just down grade my bootloader only and that's it ..and then I can just install custom roms.im probly the dumbest slow learner on here about custom roms lol but smart on everthing else but I got your link lets see … also I don't have the ability to make a what u call Y cable and I don't have a micr sd or card reader slots built on my pc cuz I built a custom pc without a card reader ..as I just use usb slots only so the y cable and gold card method cant be used at all so .only way to do custom roms is thrugh my usb 2.0 or 3.0 connections . probly no other ways invented yet …Any how I downloaded task 00 and task 29 then 2nd step I got to Where it says if your bootloader is 5.xx..wich mine is ..can I do any of those methods even ansars? downgrade process

you have to downgrade your HSPL.
when you flash a stock rom that will aslo downgrade your HSPL at the same time.
try any stock rom, ansar has a couple
check bootloder...HSPL to be less then 3x

it was said ...that after sim unlocking ...2 users have reported that the 5.10 europe rom worked --> Update on 30.12.2011: Two TMOUS users did confirm that after SIM unlock it worked for TMOUS too!! with RUU Schubert htc Europe 5.10 401 04 slspl sighned by ansar .zip my bootloader is at 5.12 tho like I said in my previous post

no, once a phone is sim unlocked then it will stay unlocked, dosent matter how many times u flash custom rom.

iam not sure what your actually trying to do?
if you want a custom rom.... u have to downgrade ur HSPL
there are only 2 ways, first earier is by flashing stock rom
second is goldcard
1, downgrade HSLP by install/flash stock rom
2, install cotulla HSPL here http://htcfanboys.com/download/cotulla/?action=view&file=2942
3, flash any custom rom you like

First you need HSPL or RSPL this is requierd to flash any custom rom or radio firmware.

Choose one listed in the dft RSPL software you will understand when you will run the software read carefully the instructions or you will brick your device

So first i have to follow the anasar technique to downgrade SPL(in this i have to install a schubert shipped rom> which is in the 2nd link u gave right?! )
Then i have to use HSPL RSPL.And while doing HSPL RSPL i have to flash a rom ( nextgen+ ) on my HD7 right?
And if i brick my phone is there any way to fix it?!

right i flashed the RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.60.401.01_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE because in the rspl software there is a version for this spl
then you do rspl then you do hspl then you flash nextgen thats what i did what all worked fine for me
And if i brick my phone is there any way to fix it?!

Hello , me and yashf50 talked by pm , and he told me his HD7 was on T-mobile , the steps i puted are for unbranded phones i think for Hd7 phones that are branded they need to follow this method first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893152 i think so , just wait the opinion of the experts

so here's my question then !! The preNodo method only works with unbranded devices ??? like it won't work with a Tmobile HD7 USA ???

The Tutorial thread explains what needs to be done in the clearest way, if you haven't read it, check it out
Basically, if you have a Pre-Nodo backup in Zune, it shouldn't matter whether you've got a Branded or Unbranded device. If you don't have a pre-Nodo backup, and you're device is Branded and on SPL 5.xx (which from what i'm reading, your's is) then the easiest way to donwgrade SPL (and therefore have the ability to get a custom ROM on your phone) is to use this GoldCard method.

thanks,,,that made things clear...so since I currently have the 7720 ROM on my phone and the last backup is of December 1 2011...is it safe to assume that its NODO or Pre_nodo ?? Cos if it is I might go ahead with it...for some reason Goldcard method looks more vulnerable to bricking the device...(opinion)

Well i guess it depends when your device was updated to NoDo. I think it came out early last year didn't it? Like March/April? So a December 2011 backup is likely a post-Nodo backup and therefore you won't be able to use it.

ok...I see....that means...goldcard method is the only hope !

I have a TMO w/5.10 BL and need to get the NoDo Rom for TMOUS w/BL 3.1.2250.0(119314). Unfortunately the link is for FileFactory and it moves like molasses and just times out. Anyone have another link for that ROM or know where a mirror might be? Thanks.

about your last question...
yes , there is a way to repair the device that has been bricked!
it's like flashing computer mainboard's bios , if it's not even loading it can be programmed again! but unfortunately i haven't been able to find see how they do it.

Dear All,
I want to install the new deepshine rom.. i have read alot of treads and forums and im really confused. i recently switched from a iphone to HD7.. so here goes..
Below are my phone details
Model - HTC HD7 T9292
Software Windows Phone 7.5
OS version - 7.10.7740.16
Radio software version - 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Bootloader - 5.10.2250.0(132968)
Im aware that i have to downgrade SPL to avoid bricking it. but how downgrade? i was thinking of downloading this veriosn:Europe 1.16.401.01 HTC HD7 T9292 7.0.7004.0 2250.09.11601.401 5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09U 1.16.2250.0(110866). and install that to my fone. will it work or do i have to use gold card method?? if i can flash this rom to my phone and if it will work .. how do i flush this old stock rom to my phone.... i know this is the first step in installing custom rom but have to go step by step right
IF any one can help to go through this process ill appreciate it a lot..

[Q] Flashing CUSTOM ROM Newbie Help

sr if this question is anoying but i tried to find a answer for it but the only things i was able to find out that some errors occured. But not if Succes or Failed.
I want to developer unlock my HD7 via custom rom.
Here are my System Infos:
OS Version: 7.10.8107.79
Firmware: 2250.21.51101.401
Hardware: 0002
Bootloader: 5.11.2250.0(134578)
Chip-SOC: 2.2.5.0
I have noticed that the bootloader is my main problem. I first need to downgrade. Problem no Synco Save via Zune (damaged HardDisk).
So is there any actual way to successfully downgrade my HD7 to a version to be able to install a Custom Rom?
And another question is, when really accomplished to flash a custom rom, is it possible to update via Zune or does this recover to normal rom?

2) Next is in ansar.ath.gr's tut he tells not to install after downgrade a custom rom with 5.10 Bootloader. Is this ment to if i install a stock ROM with this version that downgrage would loose because i install this bootloader again? (sr for bad english)
3) difference between RSPL & HSPL. as i read the RSPL is only active until restart and the HSPL is fixed. So with the RSPL i can try if everything works correct and the Cook it with the HSPL is this correct?

he says to not install a 5.xx ROM so you avoid putting yourself in the same position you were in before.

RSPL is temporary.
HSPL is permanent.

any Schubert Custom ROM once you are XSPL'd.

i need a little bit ur help x) As usual.
I followed ansars Guide to downgrade my spl. This worked successfully. Tricolor screen says:
PD29100 MFG SS_BC (4K)
SPL-1.57.2250.0(113571)
MicroP(LED) 0x07
TOUCH S1(v1.8,#1624)
When RomUpdateUtility finished an error occured which said that a file is curroped. But Phone rebooted successfully.
First Question was this just a tiny bug or went sth wrong?
Secound Question is: I wanted then to continue installing custom ROM. I used DFT_RSPL to get rspl to flash unsigned custom rom. DFT successfully run trough but phone didn't reboot and no RSPL still SPL. And HSPL cant continue. So my problem is i cant get RSPL to work. What am i doing wrong?

i hadn't ever used ansar's SLSPL before...
i suggest flashing Shipped pre-NoDo or NoDo ROM for your device.
maybe will 'fix' whatever went wrong with SLSPL.

ok thx. actually im downloading pre-nodo 1.54 Europe SPL. Sadly Rapidshare free is actually really slow 30Kb/s
When finished downloading i will try to flash this Version over Ansars and then RSPL -> to flash custom ROM.

Success !!!
After ansars SPL i just had to flash a stock ROM. I choosed PRE-NODO 1.54 Europe and then i was able to RSPL and finally flash a Custom ROM.

What im now interested in is, which is the best Custom ROM? Or better asked which is not the best, but which should I prefer?
I want as many possibilities as possible.
Actually im having DeepShine Custom ROM active but i want to look trough of the top to make a decision which i will take for further use.
Can someone maybe tell me which is his favourite and why?
And another question is -> whith the custom rom installed am i able to update via zune or shouldn't i do that? (If not how can i sync with zune and prevent zune to update my phone)

As i now read through a little bit of the custom roms available, i think i will go with Nextgen+ It sounds like a good work for me x) If u have any other suggestions pls let me know thx

Custom ROM choice is all about personal preference.
the top Custom ROMs seem to be:
in alphabetic order: Deepshining, Dynamic7, intrinsic, NextGen+

As i have now the Custom ROM NexrGen+ active i have a problem again x) As usual sr XDA Community.
I cant cumunicate with my pc.
Windows 7 x64
Installed: WMDC, CoreCon2, Zune
The System recognizes that a Windows Phone 7 is plugged in but can install the drivers for it.
Any solution for this?

what drivers are you referring to?

Sr for my bad english. It's not actually the drivers. In German its called "Gerätesoftware" i think its device software. Windows tells me that he wasn't able to install the device windows phone 7.

That link doesn't work to show what rom you want to download. Power off your phone, hold down the volume down key and power your hd7 back on while continuing to hold down the volume button, this will bring you into boatloader mode. Use shadows awesome tutorial to downgrade your spl at or below 3.xxx on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068

Yes its pretty much is the same, when in boatloader mode do you have rspl or hspl if you have hspl you can just flash a new rom, if you have rspl then you need to re rspl and then flash a new rom.

Im running the Deepshining V7.6 rom on my hd7 and its an excellent rom! If you have any problems or questions just post them and I'll try to help you! Also make sure after you flash the rom to run your HTC connection setup app to fix your phones reception and don't forget to thank dotcompt for his rom and shadow for his tutorial!!

SPL -> 1.57.2250.0 (113571)
I tried to install rspl, but i can't do it. i'm trying it with DFT in 1.56 and 1.60, but it doesn't work.
What can i do now? i'm downloading RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.60.401.01_Radio_5.52... to try changing my spl again.
Is it ok?

you already have bootloader 3.1 so install HSPL and you can flash any rom after that

I made many errors and i'm going to explain it for those people who have the same problems.
-I originally had HTC HD7 (Schubert) with mango 7.5 installed from zune
-My originally spl was 5.x
1º- I entered in bootloader (useful information for newbies) switching of my phone and switching it on while pressing volume down button.
2º- i downgraded my spl using SLSPL from here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411904
3º- once rebooted in spl mode i got SPL 1.57
4º- I installed this RUU http://www.4shared.com/file/kXXbn7HR/RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_169401.html
This will give you SPL 1.69 wich is supported in DFT
5º- Use cotulla DFT, now without problems.
6º- install your favourite cROM, i used deepshining v7.6 --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17735530#post17735530

flash another radio rom and change your spl to something in 3.xx then install HSPL
