Hello, i don't have a permission to write in threads in developers section so i wanted to ask you this way.
Is anybody having an browser issue on Overcome rom 2.2?
I get FC after starting browser.
no issues here. have you tried another browser like dolphin or opera? You can fix permissions and see if that resolves your issues
Yes i have faced this issue. I just ignored it and used the dolphin HD. I have another problem where clock FC after every reboot
i know that other browsers work, but i wanted to fix the android browser functionallity.
I have tried android browser from other roms, but i'm still getting FC
Which browser you all using? Stock browsing and dolphin also all lag when scrolling.
Now using opera as so far my best browser.

Please someone help me!!!
The default Browser application on my Nexus one just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website.
Therefor I generally use Opera Mini to access the web and this works perfectly, it was only happen when I used the Dolphin Browser or Default browser and realised that both had the same issue.
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well.(Market,Gmail,Twitter,Youtube...) As I said above the Opera Mini browser works is the only browser that work for browsing internet
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files / Radios / Kernals ect..
And also im using Froyo from hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686593
Any ideas to get rid of this??????
I'm experiencing the same problem. Did you find a fix for it?
Same issue for me and its really pissing me off because Opera sucks as a browser!
anybody else experiencing random FCs when visiting google.com or googling anything? It started happening RIGHt when the website changed and other coworkers that have this phone said the same thing....im suprised nobody has mentioned this yet
im on CM7.1
Just tried going to google.com and doing a search in both the stock browser and Miren browser and it worked fine
tried stock and dolphin mini and works fine.
What browser are you using? I use Dolphin HD and have had no issues lately.

doesnt dolphin use the same API as the stock android browser? I used firefox and browser....browser tries, hangs and then force closes....firefox just force closes as soon as i go to google.com
its weird.
I have never had that problem on either my CM7 captivate or my 2.3.3 cog5b3 phone. Both I am using Dolphin HD and both have Google.com setup as my homepage. So no issues here.
Also I just tried it via the stock browser and it also has Google.com as the homepage and it worked too. Try going into settings, applications, find the browser and clear the data for it and see if that helps.

I have the stock rooted Nook Color 1.4.2 and I was wondering is it normal for the web pages not to resize after zoom? I thought it was working previously, I could be wrong.
I've tried this both in the stock browser and Dolphin, auto-fit pages is on for both browsers. It's not working the same way it does for my phone.
I've scoured the boards and all I could find was info with a similar issue happening on CM7.

If you have the "auto-fit pages" option turned on and no effect then I strongly believe what you mentioned is called "auto-text reflow". That feature is NOT on both stock browser and/or Dophins HD.
Back when I used GB, the only browser offered "auto-text reflow" is the Opera.
In ICS, there is an app called "ICS Browser+"
The standard thread question...
I didn't see any prior topics about this. I use the CM9 nightlies.
I've tried the following:
Browser (I haven't really used this much)
Chrome (I get a lot of crashes when I scroll quickly on sites with heavy coding)
Dolphin (Don't like how the address bar disappears when scrolling down)
Dolphin Mini (I like how the address bar stays, but this browser has limited features)
Opera HD (Meh)
Maxthon (Everyone says to use this one. While it's nice, I've found that you can't really open a lot of tabs with this browser without it crashing and/or freezing.)
What do you guys use? What should I try?
It doesn't look like you have tried Firefox, so that might be worth a go. It is a very personal choice, but I have stuck with the ICS browser for most use (also have Chrome, Dolphin and Firefox installed).
Dolphin. It's fast and fullscreen. I would've used Chrome (i like the sync with Google account), but it's laggy and adress bar and tabs are unhideable.
For now, I'm using ICS Browser+.
I have most of the ones mentioned installed, but use ICS Browser+ most of the time.
I've just been using the standard browser. It allows a desktop user agent, supports flash, has tabs and is pretty stable which is all i need.

I think opera mobile its more stable browser
I myself haven't found any reason to switch from the stock browser. I love the quick controls.
I like Dolphin HD for all my Andorid decices. I like having multipe tabs open.
*EDIT*scratch that, after a few days.of ok browsing with Dolphin HD, I can't even get it open without crashing. It's constantly asking me to send an error report. Gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling and see what happens.

The new Firefox is probably the fastest browser on android.
I still use the Firefox Nightlies because I like the gestures for closing tabs.

One thing about Dolphin's address bar disappearing when browsing, you can change the setting so its always showing.

Dolphin Browser seems to have an issue with the new 4.2 update, my tablet would crash every time I try and use it. That said, on a hunch, I uninstalled Dolphin Jetpack to see if it had an effect on the crashing, and it did. After uninstalling Jetpack, my Dolphin Browser doesn't crash anymore.
I'm curious if the assumed fix is consistent. If you are having trouble with Dolphin and have Jetpack, try uninstalling Jetpack and report back if it helped or not.

Was having the same problem and uninstalling the Jetpack addon seems to have resolved it. Interestingly, I was having similar problems with Firefox and removing Jetpack seems to have helped with it too, though it still seems a bit unstable (e.g., crashes when loading Release Notes page from settings menu).
Jetpack isn't worth it at this point either way. Tap-to-zoom doesn't work very well with it as the page doesn't center properly. And when you use pinch-to-zoom the page shifts at the beginning and isn't centered properly.
Hi all,
Nexus 7 with 4.2 and I've never installed Jetpack. dolphin crashes on opening. I've un installed it along with the rest of the add ons and rebooted with a reinstall no luck... anyone know of a fix?

Same for me
I don't know about dolphin beta but dolphin browser works perfect for me!
It's very smooth. Chrome is a bit laggy for me. Untill the chrome gets perfect, I have to use dolphin.

I can't see Chrome doing anything that Dolphin doesn't already do.
Dolphin has flash support & they've also implemented the zoom refine box that chrome uses when a touch is just off.
Dolphin Beta updated yesterday or so but it's still unstable for me.. Works mostly when browsing, but every time I open the launcher from a link from some other app, it crashes immediately.
the only reason i use dolphin is because it has autorefresh (Tab Reload) Plugin, get me that on stock/chrome and im happy
the reason why i need the addon is because we use a wifi-hotspot login here that logs out after 45 minutes, everyone else have to relog in while i make it refresh a page which has the user/pass parsed already..so in a way im constantly connected , have the same setup on laptop too
using android 4.2.1 , see no crashing here
If has texte wrapping... Chrome sucks....
