Almost CM7 Gone? - LG Thrill 4G

Hi, I'm a bit lost.
I'm wanting to have the CM7 for my LG Thrill. I'm not a fan of being an updater this, update that bull****.
I want a stable ROM, does anyone have a link to the LG Thrill Almost CM7?
I want a working CM7 build that I've not gotta worry about waiting every week to update.
I'm currently on Doomed Froyo & to add its my favorite ROM.
Yet, I'm tired of it after seeing no future ROM builds as of lately.
Has anybody any idea of what I can do? :/

When it does release in final Cyanogen 7.1 / 9.x (Maybe? Hopefully?) , definitely go with that
Soo, yeah.

I am going to give it a run for a day see what happens.I'm about to grab another phone because lack of Roms for this phone.Maybe a skyrocket or vivid who knows.
Sent from my Optimus 3D using xda premium

Sorry man, worked with me no problem. If it does work as you want it to though, it's really not worth changing phones. I know this from experience. But if not, go for it.

Just flash the CM7 nightly. Any further flashing/installing you need to do is done without wiping anything. You simply download and install the zip through recovery. Everything stays absolutely the same as far as your apps and screens and setups.

I had problems with nightlys echos and a clicking noise. So far only had that one reboot, about to test the battery out.
Sent from my Optimus 3D using xda premium

Man phone did good today battery life wasnt good then I got home from work and phone kept rebooting wouldnt go to sleep acting crazy.Back to the nightlys.

Which rom is more stable for milestone ?

Hi guys am on cyanogenmod 7.1.2 and want to know is there any other rom more stable than this ? ...... How about miui because I love the ui of it ?...Does clockworkmod work with milestone ....................hey how do i change one rom to another , i mean should i flash the .sbf file all again and do all those stuff again ? thank you in advance for your time
Sent from my Milestone using xda premium
clockworkmod should work. just make a back up, wipe caches, and flash.
Miui has an excellent ui but randomly got stuck requiring a battery pull and didnt really work well for most games and google maps. Also, the battery life was terrible. Multiple charges a day terrible.
By far the best and most stable rom ive used is the peter alfonso 2.3.7 aosp rom. Its a blank slate with a really stable kernal. Since i switched to that I havent had a single problem and it runs buttery smooth. Hope that helps.

he is talking about the milestone and not the droid so beware cwm doesn't work use open recovery. Plus you cent change kernels on the milestone because of the locked bootloader.
The most stable ginger ROM I have used so far is cm7. If you want froyo roms you can try cm6 or the froyomod.
Miui is nice and pretty stable but you wont have a lot of free ran to ran heavy applications or multitasking.
If you are changing a ROM remember to wipe data + both of the caches

Thanks for the info, what I meant is now that am running on cm 7 if I want to switch to miui should I flash sbf file again and I don't want to root and do al those mod again ...... sorry am a newbie at this, thanks for your time
Sent from my Milestone using xda premium
If you are already on cm7 all you need is to do all the 3 wipes in openrecovery (data, devalik, cache) and apply the Miui update zip.
You don't need to reflash the sbf.

Well I don't think Milestone kernel can be changed, for it is signed by Motorola.
I remember there was a 2.6.35 kernel when cm6 came out, with some issues. But now I can't find it anymore. It was once kept on cyanogenmod4milestone Google Code page.
Can you give me the link to the rom you mentioned above ( Peter alfonso 2.3.7 aosp )

I've found nadblabak's / kabaldan's CM7 to be waaaaay more stable than Motorola's 2.1 - never ever had a crash with CM7, at least weakly with stock. Turned my old Milestone into a completely new phone (I've moved to CM9 pre-alpha now, it's way cooler and not necessarily unstable, but rather incomplete and generally unfinished)
I found out after using froyomod, cm6, cm7, miui, ho no, that ho no is the most stable, featured and fast at the same time. Using 7.1.2, dont know about newer releases
Sent from my Milestone using Tapatalk
CM7 from Kabaldan works fine to me, and too much pretty with ICS theme.
HoNo
HoNO CM7 is pretty much stable and is fine for everyday use. Am testing the ICS CM9 alpha version right now. Its reasonably good considering its just in the alpha stage now. All thanks to the genius Kabaldan

Best Rom for Optimus Black; Discussions & Opinions

Hi just trying to get a clearer picture here, what would be the best/most stable rom for the OB? What is the most commonly used rom for OB? And does installing another rom screw up stock camera functions cos I do like the stock camera functions and capabilities.....
Thanks
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
There's basically three custom roms : NOVArom, PAY's rom and Cyanogenmod rom; and stock 2.2a/b/v/d... and leaked stock 2.3a
So, out of all these, the most stable, most battery friendly, most hard functioning rom with overclocking feature is NOVA rom v8. But only downside is it's froyo.
Now, if you want a highly advanced rom with countless possibilities of customizations; but can handle a few known audio and video bugs, the go for Cyanogenmod nightly.
Personally i am on Cyanogenmod kang by redy2006, and nova kernel. Audio bug is almost negligible for me, but 720p hd recording is not that much good here.
Pick what meets your need..
How much different would froyo on Nova rom be as opposed to stock gb I mean not in bits and bytes but overall user experience...
Cm audio bug what happens exactly? (skip, stutter etc)
Don't really care for 720video tho (hardly capture video but use alot of camera tho)
Basically I just wanna make my device perform at its peak and want it to be speedy and reliably stable (have alot of snap mins where I have to access my tools instantly)
Thanks in advance....
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
Oh it just bugs the hell out of me that my device could be much snappier & stable but currently capped and cluttered by useless stuff provided by carrier.... :/
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
Well, you can root it and remove a lot of those stock apps. I've removed about 35 apps, and none of those were from my carrier. Makes the phone a bit snappier, but the camera is and has always been rediciolusly slow. from i press the button to the processed image appears, it takes like 30 sec or something, dunno why, using V10e. Haven't tried NOVA or CM yet...
I thought abt doing that, but I've read somewhere that if I delete stock included apps from stock rom it might screw the os (much like if uninstall progs from windows )
Truth?

+1 great room
CM is indeed great, but it is still in nightlies.
i prefer a full working stable ROM and thus i use NOVA v8. it is stable even with 1.3 Ghz O/C with my black(i would sugghest NOT to try this...very few of the blacks can actually be stable at 1.3, most of them max out at 1.2,1.25 Ghz)...the conclusion is u can stay stock(almost) but with various tweaks which will get the best out of your black...
but what is good for you is for u to decide. like, few days ago, i thought of getting a total ICS overhaul of my black. so, i installed a CM7 nightly amd tweaked it to my hearts content. ICS wallpapes,ICS theme, animations,Lockscreen,Music, even the ICS outlines SWYPE!!!...used it for a few days, got bored and flashed back the NOVA backup.
try the ROMs available, use it for some days to get a "backup-able" stable image and then switch over from one to another.
i have a CWM backup f NOVA8, stock10g and the CM#20 nightly builds....and each of them are stable, has my applications installed
hope i helped
As soon as CM7 or CM9 for that matter is released as stable, i'll switch to it right away, no matter which official version LG can offer. I'm so jealous of all the cool available mods/themes for CM. For me using them on stock rom, it's a whole lot of work, and will only partially apply. LG roms seems so sensitive to changes as well, probably due to their implementation of OEM bloatware into Android roms. And don't you guys hate all the use of blue/cyan colors all over the menus, windows, buttons etc? It's so butt ugly, especially the speech bubbles in the default sms app...

i have most of these craps deleted. feels SOOO childish!!!!...u cannot expect 2 have such colorful and weirdly "girly" kind of UI on such a mature and sleek looking hardware....i even deleted the lg msg, dialer, home, gallery, bla bla bla and went in for a complete GO!(launcher, locker, dialer, contacts, widgets, etc etc) for my black. now i have a "blackish-blue" kind of galactic theme for most of the GO!offerings and my cell looks to be dressed to kill

[Q] CM 10 for optimus 3d doeant have data network on lg thrill

there might be, but unless someone posts it actually working, dont use cm10. when i used it, i had signal the first time. however, after an hour or so, my phone randomly rebooted. after it turned back on, service was gone, and IT KEPT rebooting every 2 minutes or so. also, same goes for jellybean and pacman

It does works for the thrill. You just have to flash bernis u-boot and x-loader. I was using it on my v20p thrill. I switch back to GB because people on the other end of the phone were hearing an echo. If you can live with that it works fine. Just go to the o3d development threads there is a thread that explains how to install everything.

Is CM10 critical for you?
Because I installed ICS port by XBSA, samno kernel and v20c baseband and it's amazing, like new phone! (in Canada)
You can find all info in Optimus 3D development section. Our phones are EXACTLY the same, just different basebands. With v20c I have 3G/H in WCDMA 850 and WCDMA 1900.
It's challenging process but it worth it. I can help.
Good luck!

OK what phone do u have a lg thrill or optimus 3d also I heard the back and search button doesn't work with lg thrill and if i t does work do u want to help me.
Ok, my phone was originally LG-P925g with Rogers (Canada) - I'm not sure if it was officially called Thrill since I bought it used. Then I read and realized that it's absolutely the same phone as Optimus 3D (920).
So for last year I was using Prometheus ROM with iBluekernel.
Then I decided to try ICS port from XBSA. And it worked. Lots of hoops to go thrugh but works.
Then I put kernel made by samno (in 3D development section) and that kernel solved button issue. But I got another one - at home I could connect to wifi but couldn't go past router. So today I flashed kernel made by iodak and am happy surfer.
If you just flash xbsa port you will have all 4 buttons, but BACK button works as HOME and SEARCH as BACK. HOME is HOME and SETTINGS is SETTINGS.
I hope it helps.

As someone who has owned the Bionic since launch, and just jumped to CM 10.1 a few days ago, I'll chime in here. It's a much better phone since CM 10.1. That said, be prepared for issues initially. I had a lot of problems and was ready to give up - until I did a factory reset on the CM 10.1 ROM. If you decide to make the switch, you can root, install SafeStrap, and flash CM 10.1 and Gapps with confidence, as long as don't mind doing a factory reset and rebuilding everything. Since the phone is new to you, that shouldn't be much of a deterrent.
I personally would recommend making the plunge.

Some random reboots being looked at.

After installing the CM 10.1 20130326 NIGHTLY for the first time on a newly rooted Bionic, the phone was extremely unstable. A factory reset made all that go away. I elected to download all my apps again for a fresh start. Right now, it's working well.

[q] i9001 - Giving phone away to friend, need stable ROM

Hey guys - I'm about to give my i9001 away having just got a Nexus 4. In the meantime I've been having stability issues with this rom (ivendor cm10.1) - regular shutdowns that require removing and replacing the battery to fix, and various freezing issues.
So I'm looking for a very stable, very polished, simple ROM to put on before I give it away to someone who's a pretty good friend. Something CM based would be grand, and GB based is fine if those are the most stable (and she's used to GB). Any ideas?
After that I guess I'll be signing out of this area - you've all been a great help and I'm sure I would have dumped the phone long ago without you!

Oh, ok . Sorry, wasn't thinking straight, still can't. Sick . But yea, he can also try broodROM GB or ICS if he wants. FOr me JB is stable. but I guess it's diffrent for everybody, I don't use my phone that much now because I'm very busy with school and whatnot. But in the end it's up to him. I would recomend GB anyway, cuz she is use to it, and it is blazing fast.
ps. 100th post
