your phone must be rooted with xrecovery installed.
use the search button if you have not.
reboot to xrecovery, go to install custom.zip and install rom...
Dude First of all Root You're Mobile with Superoneclick for X8.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHxLVlhCWLM
after Download Busybox in Android market and make sure install it on you're X8
After That Install X Recovery or Clockwod Mod.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls10Og6W89s
After that download you're Custom rom. make sure change the name in to Update.zip
and reboot you're phone and press back key button it will gain access to xrecovery or any other recovery module. after click on the install the custom zip, make sure backup you're stock rom. and Install it. After Full wipe it

First root your phone with flashtol*latest is the best.
Then download busybox.apk it-s installer for busybox. Install busy box using file manager. Then download E15i xrecovery installer.apk. and install them using file manager. You must to accept superuser notification to install busybox and xrecovery. You will get SUPERUSER ON PHONE AFTER ROOT!
Whoa if you want to install gxp 23 you will need unlocked bootloader and alfs kernel and this is a risky procedure.also v23 has some bugs.. I recommend that you install Gingerxperia v22 which works with stock kernel (you first need to root, install busybox and xrecovery like the others said) remember, before installing a new rom make sure you create backup of your current one, in case sth goes wrong...

Probably if you wouldnt able to understand, make sure watch the videos on youtube, then you can install, but do with you're own risk
I see an animation when I lock my screen. I need to disable this animation ..

can anyone tell me what is rooting, rom? and how to customize and to do it?
i find some forum about that but i cant understand it..
i hope someone help me about this.. thanks a lot..
With root you get superuser privelegies at your phone..it mean that you can do all what you want with your phone...If you wanna root your phone easiest way is download x8toolbox from this forum and root your phone( enable debugging before that and your baseband must end at 015)after that you need to install xrecovery or cwm or both, you can do it via x8toolbox too, than downoad rom you want and if its installed via xrecovery(reboot your phone) when you see white se logo start pushing back button and if cwm start taping your screen, choose install custom zip choose your rom from sd card install it, do full wipe( in options of recovery) reboot and you are done.
P.S. BW before posting such posts use your search button!!! Because this question is answered a million times!!!

i used gingerdx yesterday but it was very lag...so i heard i need to use cwm to properly install gingerdx (cause mine is v20+) so i search for rom manager (i thinks it's same as CWM ) apk's files ...i downloaded is and tried to search for my device but failed to , so i googled it and it says i need
''-1. Unlock bootloader
2. Flash Custom Kernel (sin file included inside the zip file, or ready made file here )
3. Install ROM using CWM provided with the kernel (after flash, switch on and keep puhsing back button until phone enter CWM Recovery mode. You cannot use xRecovery anymore... ''
i don't understand anything about what he said ...i googled the bootloader guide (from xda ) but it's so complex i dun even understand ...but then it says i need to do something called flash got this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashrom ... don't undestand!! okay okay no more complaining to sum it all up
1.how to use cwm on xperia x8? i cant find my model on the chart
2. is there a more simple way to bootload my phone?
3.what does bootload do?
4.what and how to flashrom your x8?
5.what is linuxDX for? i heard it speeds up your phone ...
6.how does cwm works? is it similar to xrecovery?
i tried to install gingerdx2.0 with xrecovery but it destroyed many of my apps and it's not smooth at all ... sorry for making so many threads...i really am curious of my phone and wanting to know all these rom , root stuffs ...
I tot I already tell solution for your problem b4..
U simply install gingerCruz or whatever rom (which one can install via Xrecovery)
(I sure this rom have dual recovery(CWM & Xrecovery) pre install)
now when u sucess installing GC,
u can boot into CWM by pressing volume down button and/or tap screen
and now the time u can install gingerDX.zip
and make sure fullwipe after and b4 installing GDX.zip
let forget about LinuxDX or whatever kernel first...
(because u failed to fix simple matter (installing GDX))
so if u wanna flashing kernel, it most dificult than installing rom
so my advice is please pass this matter first
REMEMBER...flasing kernel U have to unlock bootloader
(your phone can brick if U done any wrong)
ohoh i think i get you there ...u use a rom that can be installed via xrecovery and the rom naturally has CMW preinstalled yes ? and when i done installing( do i need to full wipe for this? ) the rom that can be installed via xrecovery press the close button long then the CWM will come up ( i tried b4 via cruzt ) then i enter CWM i use it like xrecovery , from there i install GDX and before installing GDX i have to full wipe my phone ...am i right??will full wipe clear my app? and what's GC?
is rom = mod?
and yeah i think imma skip kernel 1st too risky!
THANKS KLIP!

Give MiniCM 2.0.7 a try... it's run on stock kernel (unlike MiniCM 2.1.6) and the only problem i have is spontaneous reboots now and then... otherwise, it's more stable than anything else i've tried.

If you want a real stable and fast custom rom go for Froyo Pro 2.2 this is the most stable and fast rom i ever tried. It comes out w/ usual GB features like real dual touch on a cypress digitizer, OC, to name a few.

People help me!
I took my sister SE X8 to get my since her ROM that I installed it and something works slowely, and if the description was written to work ok, but after a few failed attempts, I returned it the old ROM Floyo v.0.3
Now, I installed everything right, synchronized across its Gmail, update market to play store, install BusyBox. When I reset the mobile no longer wanted to start properly, accurately shows (No service) and throws me some hill popup-s..., like The application LauncherPro has stopped unexpectedly!
And when I left mobile than reset several time and all the same ...
The worst is that I can not re-enter the xRecovery and re-install the ROM!
As I made the problem when I installed BusuBox and reset mobile!
How do I resolve this? Please help!

First I've rooted my x8 (15i) successfully, I installedl nAa 13 and installed a Rom. I didn't liked the rom so I flash to my original kernel and version (2.1Update). And I flashed nAa13 again to install Minicm ICS rom but It didn't work for me.. So I flashed again to my original fw.. (I'm a newbie here in flashing so everytime I want to flash a new rom I flash first to my oriniginal fw so I dont know if it's the right way). After I flsahed to my orig fw I've format my sd card (I forgot to unroot my phone.) And now I unroot my phone.. Relocked the bootloader. And root it again but when i root it and connect to usb cable open it on my computer I dont see the system folders (like Android folder) Ive tried everything like using superoneclick, x8 toolbox, flashtool to root and those application said that my device is rooted but I can't see the android folders. What can I do to see it again..? I wish someone could help me. I tried everything but it's not working. (
Try software update/reset using the Sony Ericsson programme on your computer (SEUS) - that should reset it to 'stock'?

if you want to flash new ROM just have rooted phone and unlock phone!
then flash the kernel that is the requirement for the ROM..i.e nAa - MiniCM7 OR alfs - DingerDX
I don't what you mean?
u can't see your folder from your PC or from your phone??
if you want to see from your phone, download and install file manager or root explorer

heheh im sorry I'll explain it further. When I root my device and it become rooted (installed superuser) and plug it in my computer i cannot see the SYSTEM FILES OF ANDROID. Like Android Folder, DATA.. That's what i meant but the software (like x8tool, superoneclick, flashtool) says that my device is ALREADY ROOTED. BUT I CANT SEE DATA SYSTEM FOLDERS WHEN I PLUGGED IT IN..
I never see the /system folder on my pc with the phone connected. Why not just use a root browser app on your phone?

hey i've root it again the superuser was installed. And when i plugged it in again in computer and OPEN TO VIEW FILES the folders contains only a FOLDR and 2 xml domcument. I thought when it is ROOTED I can see the Android Folders, DCIM folders, DATA, But why I cant see it. (
Rooting has nothing to do with those folders. Use your phone for a bit and they'll pop up, take a picture etc.

you are rooted.
in stock rom i dont think there is any use for "android" folder as you cant install apps at your sd(i dont remember if i had this folder when i was at stock, but how could i, its been a looong time!), but for "dcim", try to take a pic,as mentioned above!
