First I've rooted my x8 (15i) successfully, I installedl nAa 13 and installed a Rom. I didn't liked the rom so I flash to my original kernel and version (2.1Update). And I flashed nAa13 again to install Minicm ICS rom but It didn't work for me.. So I flashed again to my original fw.. (I'm a newbie here in flashing so everytime I want to flash a new rom I flash first to my oriniginal fw so I dont know if it's the right way). After I flsahed to my orig fw I've format my sd card (I forgot to unroot my phone.) And now I unroot my phone.. Relocked the bootloader. And root it again but when i root it and connect to usb cable open it on my computer I dont see the system folders (like Android folder) Ive tried everything like using superoneclick, x8 toolbox, flashtool to root and those application said that my device is rooted but I can't see the android folders. What can I do to see it again..? I wish someone could help me. I tried everything but it's not working. (
Try software update/reset using the Sony Ericsson programme on your computer (SEUS) - that should reset it to 'stock'?

haha!
lolz!
if you want to flash new ROM just have rooted phone and unlock phone!
then flash the kernel that is the requirement for the ROM..i.e nAa - MiniCM7 OR alfs - DingerDX
I don't what you mean?
u can't see your folder from your PC or from your phone??
if you want to see from your phone, download and install file manager or root explorer
..
heheh im sorry I'll explain it further. When I root my device and it become rooted (installed superuser) and plug it in my computer i cannot see the SYSTEM FILES OF ANDROID. Like Android Folder, DATA.. That's what i meant but the software (like x8tool, superoneclick, flashtool) says that my device is ALREADY ROOTED. BUT I CANT SEE DATA SYSTEM FOLDERS WHEN I PLUGGED IT IN..
I never see the /system folder on my pc with the phone connected. Why not just use a root browser app on your phone?
Sent from my rooted tomato using xda app
...
hey i've root it again the superuser was installed. And when i plugged it in again in computer and OPEN TO VIEW FILES the folders contains only a FOLDR and 2 xml domcument. I thought when it is ROOTED I can see the Android Folders, DCIM folders, DATA, But why I cant see it. (
Rooting has nothing to do with those folders. Use your phone for a bit and they'll pop up, take a picture etc.

thats correct!

in stock rom i dont think there is any use for "android" folder as you cant install apps at your sd(i dont remember if i had this folder when i was at stock, but how could i, its been a looong time!), but for "dcim", try to take a pic,as mentioned above!

Hi. I've Xperia X8 : Rooted, downloaded rom (miniCM7 2.0.7) and all this in CWM.
I tried to install GingerDX but you know GingerDX need xRecovery not CWM so i searched to install xRecovery then I found this apk app( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1128854 ) i installed it and installed xRecovery and everything ok BUT when i rebooted my phone my phone stuck in the Boot screen (Sony Ericsson) and nothing new! HELPP PLEASEthxxxx all
Umm, maybe you can try repairing with PCC or SEUS.
Can you still get to xrecovery?
If yes, you can restore a backup with it.
If not, then flash the stock ROM again with Flashtool/SEUS/PCC
And the next time you want to install GingerDx, install the Dual Mode Recovery, it´s very easy, just search for it.
mmm
Well, i wanted xRecovery, but now im scared i want to find a good tutorial on the forum but i dont know, can someone recommend me one that is good for my xperia x8

The error message and related problem is written right there in front of your nose:
The ZIP file on your SD card does not seem to be ok. Bad download or corrupted while copying onto the SD.
EDIT: If you want to make sure that a large file got copied correctly to the SD (assuming the file you downloaded is ok):
1. Get HashTool
2. Start HashTool, make sure at least "MD5" is checked and drop the ZIP onto the program window.
3. Save the MD5 hash as a .txt file
4. Mount the phone in USB storage mode
5. Copy the ZIP
6. Drop the ZIP you copied onto the SD onto Hashtool and make sure the MD5 matches.
If the MD5 does not match, then the file on the SD is damaged. Turn off the phone, take out the SD and put it into a card reader. Delete the ZIP, copy anew, recheck the MD5. If it's ok now give it a try ... and research a possible problem with the Android drivers on your computer later on.
If it should turn out that the file is also damaged on your computer ... either the download broke (pay close attention to make sure the file came in completely) or you have a funny problem with your hard drive or file system integrity.

Repair it using PCC and start all over again, but this time use super1click for rooting your phone and x8toolbox for install CWM and xRecovery
Or try to pull out battery for couple minutes and see if problem still persist, than start your phone without sdcard inside, maybe you sdcard causing it
so far ok ...but it restarted bout 10 mins ago...i scare it happen again..i really hope not, the last time i serviced my phone is caused the sd card problem
I'm going slightly mad....
I've tried all possibilities, but with no use.
Everything went bad, when i unlocked bootloader, and (tried) flashed nAa kernel to use new rom's for my X8. SEMC unlocked bootloader, rooted phone, everything went fine, but... First my phone was stuck on nAa kernel screen after flashing (it said succesfully) nAa kernel and latest cm rom based on nAa kernel. Since than, i tried 10 different nAa based rom's, flashed alfs kernel succesfully and alfs based rom's, stock kernel and stock rom, and than old rom's which worked flawlessly (on stock kernel), relocked bootloader, booted without sd card, everything. But only combo which works is flashed stock kernel and stock rom 2.1.1. Why? What has been gone wrong that now even old rom's based on stock kernel aren't working? Problem with every rom and kernel combo now is that after s.e. (or if i use custom kernel - their logo), goes custom rom logo and than mobile reboots itself and goes all over again - s.e. logo, custom rom logo, and reboot. Left mobile for hours - same thing. Only when i install stock kernel and stock rom (together in one .ftf file), everything works fine. Now phone is with relocked bootloader, rooted, and on stock rom, with everything working correct. But wont let me flash any custom rom, and i don't wanna use phone like this, because nothing is like i'm used to be (i used mostly gingerdx or gingerxperia rom's).
Please help!!

First root your phone with flashtol*latest is the best.
Then download busybox.apk it-s installer for busybox. Install busy box using file manager. Then download E15i xrecovery installer.apk. and install them using file manager. You must to accept superuser notification to install busybox and xrecovery. You will get SUPERUSER ON PHONE AFTER ROOT!
Whoa if you want to install gxp 23 you will need unlocked bootloader and alfs kernel and this is a risky procedure.also v23 has some bugs.. I recommend that you install Gingerxperia v22 which works with stock kernel (you first need to root, install busybox and xrecovery like the others said) remember, before installing a new rom make sure you create backup of your current one, in case sth goes wrong...

Hello guys!
I recently tried to update my rom to my xperia x8 and i chose ICS minicm9 - shakira 3-0-4 for xperia x8. I unlocked my bootloader succesful and i installed the nAa kernel version 2.6.29.6 to my phone (i forgot to say i ve already rooted it and did a backup file with xrecovery).
Anyways the phone stuck at the sony ericsson screen after the kernel screen and never opened... I opened CWM , made a backup , wiped the data and tried to install the ICS but every time i tried (3-4 times) i got an error : "Can't open /sdcard/MiniCM9-3.0.4-shakira.zip (bad) Installation aborted". I tried to do my xrecovery backup but CWM couldn't find any backup files! I tried to connect phone with PC companion in flash mode but it recognises it as an xperia x10 and i can't do anything with it!!! I tried everything pls help me!!!:crying:

first of all.... cwm will never find the backup made by xrecovery because they are in different folders... for cwm to find them take the backup folder from xrecovery folder to the clockworkmod folder...
and then
reflash the kernel and try installation again to remove that stuck at SE logo problem.....
you need to install """"nAa ICS"""" kernel for miniCM9.... i think you installed nAa GB kernel and that is what creating problems..
try installing rom after that if it shows error there is some problem with the zip file i suppose... tell me if it gives error after this and see if it gives status 6 or status 7 error..
anyway you will have to redownload the zip..something might have went wrong during download.
and the flashtool recognizes it as x10 because you set it that way...reinstall it...
when it asks you do you want to "permanenty identify device?" i think you selected x10... next time it asks you select X8
Here's my opinion. I'm not sure how but if what you say is true, that you're running nAa ics kernel, it shouldn't be stuck at the SE logo. 2nd, if you're on a custom kernel, you won't have xrecovery. Third, our phones, after flashing kernels are recognized as X10's, not X8's.
@CnC-ROCK xrecovery backups can't be restored that way. i tried and failed
@OP if you've successfully installed nAa-ICS then you should not see the SE logo. try reflashing and wiping cache partition.
Well nothing worked! I have the proper kernel for my device and everything but i can't install the ICS and i did what you said me about the restore but it told me something about MD5 (doesn't match i think or something)
Reflash stock kernel. Then flash the ROM again. And finally flash your kernel back.
Please Press The Thanks Button
It's my matter how I send this.
Please stop telling me to reflash again! I told you i did it many times and nothing worked! Please tell me how i can change to the basic kernel and then i ll do the process again from the begin , as nothing works! Thank you!

Greetings from Colombia. The post I translated with Google translator because not speak English. Hope is not a big problem and I hope I helped. Thanks again.
My problem is this. I have an Xperia X8 (E15i - 11w13) and a few days ago I returned my Xperia X8 to PC COMPANION Stock (Stock Firmware and Kernel) Then using the ROM: rDroid (The best ROM for me)
With my phone in stock. Decides to Flashing ...
+ Then I ROOT my phone with flashtool. All good up there.
+ I decided to install the xRecovery as always and installed (Copying 3 files to System / Bin with RootExplorer)
Restart .. And no, it did not work.
- Investigate and maybe he problem was the permissions. I repeated the process, modify permissions ... And no, it did not work
- Maybe it was the Busybox?. I repeated the process after installing Busybox from the Android Market ... And nothing
- So I thought ... and it decided to install the xRecovery Flashtool, I did and .. It worked!
Already with the xRecovery working and the new ROM on SD Card, decided Flashing.
+ Realize what Wipes and install the ROM ... There all good
+But when the cell lit New ROM test, shoot me Restarts every 10min, with a message in the notification bar that says: "It is safe to remove the SD"
+Or failed the internet or in the Market / Play Store (would not let me download any APP)
+Or And there did not return to take the ROM .. It was stuck on the logo of SONY
+Or And Not even let me enter the xRecovery
Then I play do ... TOTAL STOCK Back to PC Companion.
I returned to Perform ROOT process, Xrecovery (with Flashtool) ... All to Flash the ROM withthe rDroid Cel (The one I was using before the problem and it works excellent)
But what ... Again the same problem. The constant pulling reboot message "Safe to remove the SD"
So when I went back to try to get the xRecovery .. He returned and stayed stuck in the Logo of SE.
And I got to re-do?... Make PC STOCK TOTAL COMPANION :crying:
¡HELP ME!
hi. i understand that you don't speak english, and thanks for the effort in using translate, but i'm afraid i'm not sure i understand. are you experiencing a soft brick now? or is the sdcard error the issue?
if you have a soft brick (stuck in sony logo), try using seus instead of pcc if pcc doesn't work.
if you're experiencing the sdcard issue, backup your sdcard and reformat it. also, install cwm instead of xrecovery as some roms apparently do not support xrecov (i have not experienced it though).
also, are you on stock kernel? i'm not familiar with the rom you're using. or is your bootloader unlocked and you have a custom kernel? and what is the new rom you're trying to use?
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.
Just helping
if u want to fix the booloop (stuck at sony logo)
just flash the original firmware by flash tool
download here
and if u want to install custom rom
- Flash the kernel
- Full Wipe (dalvik cache and batery stats)
- Factory Reset
- Install ROM

Hello. Thanks for answering Cascabel.
But I had no brick problem, or soft or hard.
The phone works normally with the Stock ROM, but with a Custom ROM works but has problems (the same problem throughout the ROM I try)
Buy a New SD card (8GB Kingston) to see if the problem was on the sd card. And it still has the same problem with the new card
