Vivid screen protector - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I am looking for a screen protector for my wife's Vivid. Normally I order from Phantomskinz, but they don't have one out for the Vivid yet. I have used Zagg before, but am not fond of the orange peel effect on it. Anybody have suggestions?

Search for 'Realook' on amazon. Using one right now n love it. It has an extremely good cut, doesn't bubble during application, and has the same finish as the screen. Can't even tell I have it on my phone.

I got a Moshi protector at the AT&T store. Easy to put on. Reduces finger smudges. It has a matte finish (no-glare) which some people don't like, but I like not having a lot of fingerprints on the phone.

+1 for the Moshi!

I've seen people complaining a lot about Moshi. What is it about it that you like? Because when I saw pictures I really enjoyed the way it covers around the buttons, but somehow not everyone seem to like it very much

The protector has an opaque section at the bottom with round openings for the home, menu and other software buttons. The black protector does not look good on white Vivids, but I believe there is a white Moshi protector.
I think the main objection, as I've said, is the matte finish. It reduces smudges and fingerprints significantly, in my opinion, and comparing it to the screen protector on my old HD2. Also, it does not reflect light nearly as much as some protectors, or the actual glass, would do. There is little glare. However, it may reduce the screen's light somewhat. But even with my screen brightness turned way down, I have no problem seeing what's on the screen.

Is there a possible store that sent in the mail ?.

+1 on moshi. Anti bubble anti glare and they r washable and reusable. I've been using one since November and love it.

I used the Moshi on my Note and ordered one yesterday for my Vivid from AT&T and hope it gets here when my Vivid is delivered on Tuesday. The Moshi is the best one I have used yet,Zagg and Skinomi are way to hard to install and I cannot see paying Best Buy $25.00 to install it either!!

+1 on the moshi!!
Gotta say I like the not so glossy feel to it.
REALLY like not having to wipe smudges and fingerprints off of my screen constantly...
Installation is a breeeeeze.

Yeah, best buy is a worst buy. Went in to get a simple slip on case and a screen protector to use on my days off. Just something not as bulky that I can slip in my pocket. Between the rubber sleeve and the screen protector it was gonna be almost as much as my otterbox defender.

I'm using the Invisible Shield and I don't have any complaints. There isn't very much "orange peel" on it, it's clear and easy to put on. We sell out of them fairly fast at my store.
If you do get it, make sure you get the wet application one. It's SUPER easy. Screw the dry application Invisible Shields.

Yeah, apparently Invisible Shields have improved a lot over the last couple of years. I've had a couple on some old MP3 players and they didn't look great, even with perfect installation.
I've always been really satisfied with Clarivue screen protectors, been using them for ages.

My moshi screen protector kept moving around but stoped after a couple hours it made me furious but how is it reuseable?

I was able to wash it and reuse it. You just have to let it air dry completely. If you try using a cloth or paper towel you'll end up with lint in the glue. I did that the first time I cleaned it and it was sliding all over the place.

That's the one that I'll be getting personally. I've just come to the Velocity (AUS) from a HTC HD2 and a Blackberry 9860; the HD2 had a matte skin on the screen and imho it killed the screen, the 9860 had a glossy-ish skin, it was beautiful!
I'll hit up eBay later on tonight!

I've had my Nexus One for about a year. I have a couple scratches on my screen even with Gorilla Glass. The scratches are definitely from keys. I also have a few nicks on the body. I went a month with a pouch/case and screen protector but after about a month I realized how you totally lose the design of a phone with cases'. So I think when I get my Nexus S, Im gonna use a pouch and just rock my phone fully NAKED, who cares if you scratch the screen or the body, Its just a phone. In about a year when your going to sell it, its already dated and worth little to nothing, How much is a 6/10 condition Nexus One Vs a 9/10 Nexus One?
im looking for a pouch too. i love the way the stock phone feels on my hand.
i'm not using any screen protectors for about a month, and no scratch till now

Because there are small spots on my screen where the coating is gone (or seems that way anyways). There are others who have experienced this also in the big "oleophobic coating" topic. It can only be seen under light in a certain angle, but it's definitely there. The screen protector negates the effect so I don't see it anymore. Weird, but that's why I use a screen protector.

I always think they look rubbish, no matter how neatly they are put on.

No screen protector since day 1 in december, no scratches either despite some bad drops on concrete which have dented the plastic around the screen.
Glass is tough!
I think building up a castle around a phone is "iPhone user style"

I think you just bought a low quality matte type screen protector that's why it's look like ugly. It happens to me but my friend suggest to me that try to use CAPDASE matte type screen protector and then booom i easily notice the big difference between CAPDASE and my previous screen protector. CAPDASE gives much clearer view. It look like clear type even though it is a matte type. I choose matte type because of anti finger prints and oil. I didn't need to clean it from time to time.

good screen protectors?

I went through 2 Invisi-Shields on my Thunderbolt + hated how they made the screen feel. what's something good for the Bionic?
invisi-shield
I've not found anything better for protecting the screen than the Zagg product. Bubbles can be a problem when installing it but liberally misting the screen and both sides of the film when installing, plus repeatedly squeegying the bubbles from center to edge, gets rid of them.
Zagg film has a funky, sticky texture but you get used to it (if you don't want to replace another cracked screen). The Zagg film seems to protect best and it interferes least with touch-screen operation. In fact, on previous phones the Zagg film improved touch-screen functionality.

lol I was actually a big Zagg fan myself. Now my favorite screen protector is......
wait for it....
Gorilla Glass!
Yeah I know you can still scratch it, but I've come to the realization that I prefer not to mess with screen protectors. But if you do want one, I vote for Zagg as well. They are pretty hard to damage and the lifetime replacement is nice to have. As far as the feel...I have really oily skin, and I've noticed that it's a pretty good lubricant for the screen protector...ewww gross I know...but I wonder if there's something you can use to lube up the surface so it feels more like glass?
Anyway, I since grown tired of all the gunk and residue left behind from the Zagg shields. On my DINC there's gooey crap all over in the seem between the glass and the body of the phone. Seems like after about a month or 2 the edge of the Zagg shield starts to look like crap. So I've decided to go naked and just handle the phone more carefully. So far it's worked out for me.
Also FWIW, my friend just bought a replacement glass kit for his DINC for $11. Yeah I know it's an older phone, but if it ever came down to it, I think I'd rather buy a replacement screen for the Bionic than deal with the headache of protectors again.
I opt for the screen's own durability myself. I have only had it for a few days but I carried my Driod 1 around in the same pocket I keep my keys in and the thing never got a single scratch. Honestly I think a screen protector is a lot more trouble than it is worth.
I just get the ones VZW sells. They last forever, 3 in a pack and only use one for the life of the phone.
I like Zagg alot myself. I really don't worry that much about scratching. The finger print buildup drives me nuts. Zagg keeps that way down. I have one on my bionic and my xoom.

+1 also. Have the Zagg full body protection on my Transformer and hate the feel of the screen protector. First thing anyone mentions when I let them use my tablet is the feel of the Zagg shield.
I got the 3 pack from Verizon when I bought mt Bionic. They probably aren't as good of protection but they feel like your touching directly on the screen. Also, don't get the anti glare ones from Verizon as they have a horrible feel to them. Worse than the Zagg.

The regular ones are pretty bad with prints, I'd say. My coworker has the anti-glare one and the feel/texture is unbearable!
The "normal"/Non-anti-glare ones are very smooth and, like I said above, pretty much feel like you are touching the touch screen directly.

And yeah, they do feel weird, but after using them for a year or so - everything else feels weird! Zagg is definitely weird. My buddy has them on his Incredible and Tab. Not sure how I feel about them yet. They always look like crap.

I wrote to PPC Techs to see if they would be releasing a WriteShield for the Bionic. I used their stuff for the last 12 years on almost every phone I've had, and on my wife's iPad. They are tough as nails, piece of cake to apply and a good value. No response from them yet, but if enough people send emails, I'm sure they'd cut some to size and sell them.
Right now I have a Steinhall on mine and the fingerprints and smudges are minimal. They also make it in an anti-glare with a textured feel. Easy to install and once set you probably wont even notice it again.

Why do we need screen protectors?
It has gorilla glass, does exactly what screen protectors do, and still maintains the sensitivity...
Really believe glass covers on gorilla glass phones is a gimmick.
I prefer the Steinheil screen protectors. They cover the entire screen, and can be tricky to line up properly since the edge of the screen is beveled down slightly, but once installed correctly you can't even tell there is one on the phone. The Zagg products are good, but I prefer the smoothness of the Steinheil; it feels exactly the same as the screen itself.
Are the Steinheils of the type that you can remove, wash and replace? I can't seem to find a link for the Bionic version.

I may be alone in this, but I think screen protectors are overrated. The biggest danger to the screen is shattering and no screen protector will prevent that. Unless you have diamonds in your pockets I cannot imagine scratching it without breaking it completely. .

That is a good point, which would go more towards purchasing a case rather than a screen protector, though i have a major pet peeve when it comes to my screen having any sort of scratch..let alone cracks..but IMO i do believe having a well made screen protector on or screens do provide a lesser chaw of getting cracks if the device were to drop!

I ended up taking it off about 4 months ago because the protector itself was scratched and to be honest, since I removed it I've been asking myself why I bought one in the first place. 4 months later, not a single scratch and I think I have enjoyed the phone more without it. Screen is clear, sharp and bright and still without scratches. Often put in my pocket with keys, lighter and other hazardous materials for out phones.

same here, what will be the point in selling a super scratch free 2 years old obsolete phone .....
just like the slightly scratched glass on my iphone 3gs I gave to my kids as an ipod touch
I see I'm in the minority here but screen protectors just don't have the same smoothness as the gorilla glass. Coming from a Samsung Impression it felt like I was running my fingers on silk. And after 4 months of always being on my person I can attest gorilla glass is pretty kick ass. I've dropped the phone onto a gravel street and got very minimal damage. Now mind you the phone bounced, landed and skidded about 10' on the kevlar back so maybe it was just a small miracle it didn't shatter. But the only damage was a small knick in the glass on the top corner away from the touch screen and a small dent in the metal around the face. The kevlar took no damage at all. I've also had in a pocket with loose change and keys with no effect.
Now maybe I'm just lucky but the kevlar backing and silky smooth touch of the gorrilla glass as opposed to having to change screens and getting a bulky case that won't fit the HD dock just aren't comparable.
I go a couple of scratches on my screen, probably from it being dropped in the gym and all that good stuff. I went ahead and got a Zagg screen protector off amazon. It's not too bad for the 10 bucks I spent.

+ 100,000 on that one. First thing I do on any new phone I get is drop a Zagg on it.
If for no other reason than to keep its resale value up.

Like with every other smartphone I've had, I had a ZAGG InvisibleShield (the InvisibleShield HD for the AHD) professionally installed on my Atrix HD. I never regret it.

Anyone try the GLAS Screen protector before?

Scare that the screen will be cracked and I don't want to use the flip case. I wonder is that necessary to use the screen protector like this :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...otectors&var=460214742391&hash=item25833c60f5
it looks really good but the problem is will it too thick? and the price is seriously too high (for a screen protector).
Any suggestion?
But the glas.tr on amazon. It's tempered so if you drop the phone the screen protector might crack but your actual phone screen won't. Check some YouTube videos. Extremely durable.

It's a good glass protector albeit at the typical high price. No regular screen protector feels as smooth as a tempered glass protector but you'd have to wait for the generic ones to show up on ebay if you're looking for a lower price.
I think a good Screen protector is definitely worth it. when I got my Note 2 last year I didn't use a screen protector and chipped my screen within a week of getting it.

Ya, I check couple of youtube that's awesome to watch they use screw and hammer try to destroy it
Thanks for remind me it also sell on amazon and their company locate in CA which pretty closed to me!
I had one on my last device. Dropped it pretty nasty on concrete and while the Glas.Tr screen protector cracked in the corner, the device's screen was minty fresh and had no damage. If you drop your phone as often as I do, it's definitely worth it. I'm waiting till they officially release from Spigen on Amazon so I can use Prime on it.
Are the people on Amazon crying about bubbles popping up after a few weeks with the GLAS protectors typical morons, or is it not just a matter of user error?
Both lol they work fine. Ams Definitely worth the money

I can install regular plastic film protectors without bubbles, lift, etc, but the glass one I just got has major issues with the corners lifting.

I have a glass one on my note 3. I love the feel. One thing the edges do like to stick up just a bit, but my case covers the lip. So no biggie there.
