[Q] cd/card/.android_secure.. - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys, i recently got my android and as far as i know, it seems like i cannot wipe data/factory reset after i made recovery
CWM-based recovery v5.0.2.7
-- wiping data...
formatting /data...
formatting /cache...
formatting /sd-ext...
formatting sdcard/.android_secure...
error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
skipping format...
data wipe complete.
when i researched someone vaguely said to odin the stock ROM. does that mean i need to check PDA for "N7000XXLA4_N7000OXALA4_N7000XXLA4_HOME.tar.md5" - the stock ROM?
i tried this several times and tried "N7000XXKJ4_N7000OXAKJ4_N7000XXKJ4_HOME.tar.md5" but it does not work.
please help me fixing this.
thank you guys in advance

do you have an sd card in the device?

anyone have some advice on this situation ?
should i format my internal sd card ?
Edit : i cant even format my internal sd drive , do i have to assume my internal sdcard is dead or have issues ? i can still navigate in CWM and go thru my internal card seeing files and my roms but cant mount it

[Q] big issue - failed to mount data ? - trying to rescue my phone

hye
i have one big problem : i tried to reflash my phone above amestris 5.2 but i forgot to disable lagfix.. now i'm getting force close and cannot make a wipe data nor copy file on sd card.. so it's really frustrating.. i tried many times to flash with odin the jvt stock but the situation is worst in this way..
i would be very grateful for some help, so please if you have an idea i will apreciate..
here is a part of the report after trying to install jvt stock :
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount sdcard your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
and it says also "can't wipe data" and
"failed to mount data, invalid argument"
i already did a stock flash with repartition.. and after that it does not reboot, so i flashed cf root kernel then it reboots but the force closes made impossible any kind of use...
now it only says : "failed to mount data, invalid argument" and then the screen "galaxy s gt-i9000 comes and goes repeatedly...
so i returned to amestris 5.2 which is also full of force closes but at least usable.. so i tried to wipe all data through privacy, then it reboots and says :
"E:format _volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2"------- for formatting /data
"E:format _volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10"------- for formatting /dbdata
"E:format _volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl11"------- for formatting /cache
and ""failed to mount data, invalid argument"
"Data wipe failed" ------ for deleting Meta Data
moreover, it seems that my internal sd card is not available because i cannot download nor put anything in it.... very sad
i already disabled the lagfix with speedmod, but no improvement... and the big problem is that i cannot paste any file like roms on my internal sd... i really have some regret to have flashed...
Hi, there are a couple of threads like this, sometimes flashing EZ base rom does the trick, search or the link is below under efs..
But there are a good few threads relating to similar matters, i think on page 3 of either general or questions there was one...
Edit: Here is the link click. I have not read the whole thread, so if flashing ez base does not work, or if you want to try this first read the first few and last few pages
Good luck. Let us know how it goes!
it's most kind of you to help me, but dear friend i actually already tried this method ... and it did not work in my case... thank you very much anyway, i apreciate.
thank you for showing me an interesting thread indicating that the problem must come from csc issue... i will investigate in this way

[Q] GT-P1000M stuck on Samsung logo - with errors

I'm really hoping someone can help me. I've been searching the forums for about 2 days now and there are similar issues, but not with my model of tab.
I have the GT-P1000M
It is stuck on the Samsung screen.
I can flash the gt-p1000_mr.pit and it just does the same thing. (Goes to Samsung logo)
When I go into the Recovery mode, I get the following:
--Verfing internal MMC block...
E:internal mmc : open fail
Internal MMC checksum verify failed.
#Manual Mode#
--Appling Multi-CSC...
Installing Multi-CSC
Can't access to '/system/csc/BMC/system/'.
Successfully applied multi-CSC.
I can wipe the cache partition with no errors.
When I try to wipe data/factory reset, I get the following:
--Wiping data...
Formatting /data..
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Formatting /dbdata...
Formatting /cache...
Data wipe complete.
But when I reboot, it goes right back to the Samsung screen. After selecting reboot, I get the following:
Failed to format /data (No such file or directory)
E:copy_log_file_to_data can't mount /data
Any advice would be great. I'm new to all this, as I inherited the tab from my hubby when he bought a Transformer pad.
Thanks

could u explain what u did to get to this stage? This seems like a serious problem. Your tab just failed to mount to the internal sdcard. Think of it a computer failing to read the hard drive.

It's been coming up like that since my husband tried to turn it on a couple of weeks ago. It hasn't changed.
Thanks
Galaxy Tab 7 SPH-P100 stuck at Samsung logo
I had the same thing happen. Maildroid crashed hard. Tried to get to shutdown, but had to use Power button reset. Rebooted into boot-loop at glowing Samsung logo screen.
I've tried Wipe data/Factory reset.
I've tried Odin reload. Odin thinks it repartitions and restarts. Flashing new image bombs with write failure.
Heimdall fails with usb(something) error -12.
I'm starting to think that the internal flash is bad. If it's not a BGA chip I would consider replacing the part (yes, I can do that sort of thing at home
I'm seriously unhappy that the hardware may be bunged at 1.5 years old.

Funny that I had the same problem yesterday after a bad flash on an ICS rom. I have solved it by flashing the GB-Stock-Safe-v5 from Overcome with Odin.
thanx

[Q] Lots of errors

So hey all,
Recently my Galaxy just stopped working. At home I tried to install new firmware. Then I got a lot of errors.
This is what I get when I go in my Recovery Mode:

your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
Meida files copy failed.
# MANUAL MODE #
-- Appling Multi-CSC...
Installing Multi-CSC
Applied the CSC-code 'XEU'
Succesfully applied multi-CSC.
E:failed to mount /sdcard (File Exists)
Reboot system gives me this:
E:copy_log_files_to_data: Can't mount /dataRebooting.
A
pply update from sdcard doesnt give any option
wipe data/factory reset gives me this:
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Formatting /dbdata...
Deleting Meta Data
Formatting /cache...
Data wipe complete.
Wipe cache partition gives me this:
-- Wiping cache...
Formatting /cache...
Cache wipe complete.
When I install new firmware I get errors the same like this.
Now I have tried to install all firmwares (from 2.2.1 to 2.3.6) and nothing works.
I had my Galaxy running on a costum ROM (I don't remember the name, it was something with Ario).
What to do? I'm quite lost..

solutions for /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 or /mmcblk0p1 or /mmcblk0p0 are all never the same, it all depends on as to what caused the format failure .
You can try flashing the same ROM twice or more with different PIT ( i9000 has 3 PIT files)
But if the problem was caused by Lagfix, which you had failed to undo before a factory reset or upgrade...than your Internal SD card needs to be reformatted back to rfs.(vfat) ..which is why the stock ROM fails to solve the problem as your current format is in ext 4.
So nothing will work, IF your internal SD card had been converted to Ext 4 format, until you find a way to format it back to vfat.
For Korean version of Galaxy S , flashing an Eclair will solve all problems except this lagfix problem. So you can try the Eclair for i9000 at My Android Collections
Suggest you try to format your Internal SD card ( remove ext SD card and Sim Card) , before trying any ROMS

[Help] Internal SD card failure

Well, I can say that I spent hours on hours trying to search for a solution with no luck,
The internal sd card of my Galaxy S GT-I9000 is corrupt.
I get E: format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 when im trying to format without sdcard inserted.
What I have managed to get after doing everything I can from my own knowlage and from the internet:
100% Working phone with ICS 4.0.3 only with 2 partitioned sd card(reiserfs and fat)
did everything in here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31017954
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdMhYYdMB08
also flashed multi-csc firmware with pit(JVU/JVZ) after format everything(except /boot) through CWM with no luck.
main goal:
100% Working phone WITHOUT SD CARD
I thought maybe someone could tell me if this could be solved within software itself or only FLASH IC replacement?
got linux and windows systems so guides with commands involved wont be a problem.
THANK YOU!

Galaxy Tab P1000L Problem Factory Reset

Hello everyone I have a problem with my Galaxy Tab P1000L.
the problem is quite rare for me apparently not delete anything
from the internal memory.
installed several times the rooms froyo 2.2, 2.3 ginger, even after installing the room my files, photos, music, videos are still there.
the system is unstable in any room each app crash.
when I can open the settings and give reformatted USB storage says successfully formatting but when I look at the files are still there, as if I try to delete from the pc delete but not works the files are still there.
the problem could be some encrypted file o partition? , is there any way to make a super wipe or something similar?
from the Recovery -
wipe data - factory reset.
and says
wiping data formating /data
Error mounting /data!
skipping format ...
formating /cache...
formating /dbdata...
formating /sdcard /android_secure ...
formating /sdcard /android...
wiped all user data
but all data remain the same in the same place
sorry for my English, it is very bad. I speak Spanish
thanks and I hope you can help me miss my tab greetings to all
