Boot problem after downgrading

Hi,
I am sorry if there is already a similar thread, but I couldnt find it.
I have a huge problem with my German T-Mobile G1. Today I wanted to root the system. I used the instructions on XDA forum and "successfully" did the downgrading to RC7 but now I cant power on the phone. It stops at loading screen with android text and logo. Nothing happens than.
I have tried with the wipe and manual update with next version of firmware using update.zip but problem is still here. My phone is now totally unusable and I can now just hope that here on this forum can someone help me.
Please give me an advice
edit: there is one more thing: I can not power of the phone without taking the battery out. It automatically turns on every time I put battery in and every time I restart. Switch off button does not work any more.
Is the usb cable plugged in everytime you pull the battery and reinsert it? Because if it is the usb cable automatically turns on your g1. Can you access recovery +/or bootloader?
Recovery = home+power
bootloader = camera+power
If you can't get pass the g1 screen by pressing either combination of buttons you are bricked. If you are bricked () Call your carrier and tell them that you got an OTA update and it never turned on since. They should replace your g1 with a new one
I dont use USB cable. I prepared the microSD card using the USB-reader dongle. But I had pluged the electric cable so that was probably the reason for automatic turning on. Ok, now we can focus on the main problem.
Yes, I can access both recovery and bootloadaer al least. As I said, I have tried with some updating but nothing worked yet. When I use recovery some of files give me message: E: No signature. E:Verification failed.
This thing with carrier could also be a problem. I bought my phone in a shop which is buying them in another country because G1 is not officially being sold in our county. They give me a guarantee but it is guarantee from the shop and not official importer, so there would probably be some problems.
Thanks for trying to help me. I hope with this informations it would be little easier.
Place the file on your sdcard again. Down load a fresh copy of the latest hacked RC and make sure (if you're on windows) to name it "update" not update.zip because the .zip is already assumed in windows. Once its on your sdcard wipe and flash it. See if that works.
Can I use hacked RC on G1 that has not been rooted yet - just now very successfully downgraded?
do You place on sd card file "dreaimg.nbh" and turn on the phone with camera button pressed ?

[Q]Rooting Stock 2.3.4 without usb?

Hello everyone, long time viewer but never really posted here.
Short story:
My phone was rooted and i was running CM7 but one day i decided to apply Rodriguezstyle 2.3 i believe but then my phone was basically bricked?
It would boot to Nexus X logo and it would loop on that screen.
Pugged in my SD card through an SD card reader and I used the Passimg.zip method because i couldn't ADB.
I've ordered a new USB from ebay because mine broke and basically Windows is giving me Device Not Recognized.
So after getting fastboot working it auto read my Passimg.zip and phone was restored to stock rom.
Also didn't realize like a fool i've been asked by google to Update phone so I have upgraded to 2.3.4 without realizing rom what i've read so far it's hard to root 2.3.4 stock but there is a few methods with ADB but i can't use adb.
My question.
Anyway to root phone with SD card plugged into to PC only ?
Anyway to get ADB to recognize SD card reader as a device?
Can i root maybe with a working app?
MY MAIN PROBLEMS.
Missing working USB to recognize phone as device.
POWER BUTTON Broken. :\
Cannot use fastboot to go into recovery which is why i couldn't even do it when my phone wouldn't go past the X logo.
Anyway to maybe store a Script to apply to SD card to make phone boot into recovery mode?
Sorry if it seems confusing. :\
Please i need your help, need root on my phone. Stock Rom has horrible battery life and also i need trackball wakeup since i have missing Power btn.
(i turn it on by plug in power and take battery in and out.)
Thank you!
Looking forward to some responses
Passimg again, and use one of the app based roots...
What are good ones.? I tried gingerbreak but screen hangs when it tries to root and never restarts.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Used PASSIMG.ZIP Method.
Restored it to 2.1 stock rom.
Then used z4root and it worked like a charm!
rooted, installed clockwork app and recovery and
Just installed an awesome ROM!
MIUI 1.6.10
Everything is working great.
Sorry for the post.

[Q] Bricked Captivate & Micro USB for data broken...

Hello everyone,
I installed a rom on my rooted phone and it did not go well. Now the phone is bricked.. Normally I would be able to fix this. But a few months ago the phone stopped being recognized by my computer. Still charges but the port is damaged some how and no pc will recognize it. I can not get it into recovery I have tried and tried again and again. Still stuck in android with the triangle around it. And sometimes I will get a symbol with a phone-triangle-pc. Does this mean it is done, shot, bricked for ever? LOL
You could replace the micro usb port...
Connect phone to pc and run samsung kies it will repair files then open kies, go to tools and install drivers then get into download mode and flash with odin

I can fix this. Send me a PM.
I am having a similar issue. My phone is soft bricked on the AT&T splash screen with no ability to get it into recovery. The micro USB is completely non-functional.
I am (was?) running CM7 when the problem occurred. I have considered just about every option I can think of (and have had the phone together and apart twice to see if I could get the port working... no dice) including having the phone boot from an external SD card but this still seems to need some ability to get into recovery, which I do not have.
Any creative solutions (short of just buying a new phone...)

You could send it to the guy above to have a new micro usb port installed or MobileTechVideos.com. I had them fix a hard brick on my Captivate and would use their services again in a heart beat if I needed to.

[HELP] Possibly fulling dead SGS

Hi!
I'd like to explain the s*** I'm in right now.
My phone, when running under slim bean, was not recognized to my computer when plugged in. So couldn't transfer files via usb
I downloaded slim bean rom, flashed stuff, got stuck into bootloop. Can't access my recovery anymore.
Now, the usual stuff you do is getting into download mode, then flash the kernel in the tar file.
BUT. My phone can access download mode, but my computer says the same old s***, deviced not f****** recognized. So I can not flash anything now.
Is it a dead end? Have you ever heard about this weird issue?
Do you have any idea ?
I tried doing the same step on my friend's computer. Didn't work as well, same damn issue
I'm offering a damn pint of beer to the one who can help me :good:
Thanks !

Unfortunately it is not about the drivers....
Run through the install step of drivers on my friend's laptop, same error message

try My Android Solutions for a solution
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power
button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
Tips before Flashing:-
Backup all your important files, contacts, SMS, game data, images etc to PC or
Ext SD card. or make Nanadroid Backup If you have CWM
Backup your EFS Folder to PC or Ext SD card
Enable USB Debugging on Phone. Touch menu>Settings>Applications>Development>
Charge your battery to more than 50% before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Disable Samsung KIES when using Odin. Kill Kies.exe, KiesTrayAgent.exe, &
KiesPDLR.exe using Task Manager on PC
Use only ROM and solution for your model and Wipe x3

Another Brick Verizon Galaxy Tab 7

Hello yall any help would be much appreciated.. Thanks in advance Lexi
I bought a Samsung galaxy tab 7 Verizon branded from someone at my university.
He said he had not idea what was wrong with it.
Symptoms on receipt: Booted through Samsung screen to Verizon screen then looped.
I did some research online and though I could fix it. So I bought it.
I was able to get in the mode with Power + up button screen.
Tried to wipe data, but alot of commands came out: E;/ Failed to mount. And other commands like that
I figured I needed to flash it.
After reading a bunch of posts I downloaded Hemidall and Odin, along with SCi800 Verizon stock .tar and Galaxytab.pit
My first attempt was with Odin, but computer went unresponsive.
After this happened I was no longer able to get to verizon screen. Just samsung and Download mode (power +down button)
I tried again. It just hang when it said writing. On the tablet there was a small blue progress bar but it didnt move for 20-30 mins. So I pulled it out again.
Also note: when I tried to download the USB dirvers as suggested on this forum through hemidal. It was not recognizing my tab.
I got the usb drivers from Samsung website
I know it was recognizing because when I did the Odin it popped up at Com 4 or something like that.
I took a break and put it on the charger to charge.
Now it does not even turn on by itself
It turns on when the power is plugged in from a wall socket but it goes to a all white screen.
I can get into download mode
But when I plug it in the computer USB nothing recognizes it. Not even Odin.
Question 1: what can I use or do for my compute to see my tablet again.
Question 2: If I get my computer to see my tablet again. Can someone show me how to flash from scratch? Meaning redoing partition too? I think that might be bad as well?
Any suggestion guys would be great.. I know a thing or two about computers but really need a bail out on this one.
THANKs
somehow the best platform to launch heimdall is linux.
It doesn't need drivers.
I never run heimdall in Windows. But I think its driver and Odin's are conflicting.
So you may have to uninstall the zadig USB driver and reinstall Samsung's driver to get it working with Odin.
Or get a clean windows machine that never has either software nor Kies in it.
Using XP is also better than Vista/Win7 rather than have to deal with 64 bit and permission control.
The PIT file is to repartition the device storage. So you are on the right track.
Good luck.

Is it possible its bricked for good?
I let it charge for about 20 mins. and Now it is at least making the windows tone (the tone when you connect a usb device to it)
If I chose to USE Oden again and I want to start from scratch. Meaning fixing everything possible.. Similar to formatting my computer HD and reinstalling everything. Does that mean I have to redo my partition?
Or what else would I have to do?
I tried hemidal
Got this error after loading a stock .tar file and .pit file
Initialising connection...
Detecting device...
ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12
I see it is connected with Oden v3.07
ID com is
0:[COM4]
Also in device manager it shows Samsung USB composite Device
This means its being seen by my computer right?
I would like to try oden again but I can't find another .tar file and .pit file for my Galaxy tab 7 Verizon
Anyone out there
You can use Sprint one. No difference.

Thanks for the link. I will search a bit more.
Woke up this morning and the tab is not connecting again. Very frustrating.
I am going to try to run it down again and go from there.
How long should the whole flash process take? I just want to confirm I have enough battery life in it.
thanks again

The SPH-P1000 sprint and the SCH-i800 Verizon are the same?
Update:
Well I was able to get back the verizon and samsung screen.
I used Odin v.3.07
and
verizonEC02.tar.md5
Checked the auto reboot and the F.reset time. Unchecked re-partition
Did not put any file in the PIT section
and I put verizonEC02.tar.md5 in the PDA section
Rebooted but now I am getting this error in the Adnroid System Recovery
IN RED
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(No such file of directory)
E: Can't mount Cache; Reovery/command

E: can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1

E: Can't mount CACHE: log/recovery.log
E: Can't open CACHE: log/recovery.log

Any ideas on what this mean?
Either the partitions not formatted or the storage chip itself is bad.

;-(
ok so lets say its the partition formating problem.
I re-flashed it again using the same .tar file but this time I used a .pit file.
would that have attempted to format it?
Or do I have to use Nand erase all?
thanks again
Just pit and tick repartition. No need nand erase.

I have been having the same problem since may! One day my tablet would hang at the Samsung screen! I don't know how many hours I have researched and many different ways I have tried to install the firmware but still get the same thing. It hooks to Odin (every version) passes every install the Roms, the pit, the dbdata, but I still can't get it to work. I've tried on 3 different computers. I don't want to give up because I know it should be fixable. Everyone else seems to be able to fix theirs. I'm on Canada on the Rogers network and got the right files but can't seem to get it right!! Anyone have any other suggestions? I haven't tried to format the SD card and repartition it yet. Not really sure on how to go about that.

I thought it was fixed but when I got it back it was in the same condition I gave my cousin.
I did some more research since then. I found a forum about this same error.
As stated in previous posts the error I was getting. Where it said it could not mount the files.
As Priyana said it could either be the partition or the INTERNAL SD Card is bad.
I found a post about this same exact problem (as soon as I find it again I will post in this post)
There is a description on how to open your galaxy tab 7
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-Teardown/4103/1
Then remove the internal SD card
Then install the operating system (android) on the external SD card
FIXED
Today I decided to try to partition the external sd card after trying everything for over 2 months now. I only have an 8 gig card at home but I thought what the heck I would give it a try and it worked!! I partitioned it with 3 partitions by watching a video on youtube then i installed the factory roms and overcome kernel with Odin and it worked. I'm a happy camper now!
