[Q] wrong utc gps date - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI,when I record a gps track my note is showing the wrong date in the gps file.
It is always showing the next day..I checked UTC time using GPStest and utc date is incorrect.
Is there a way to change it? what's the matter?
Thank you

I noticed this problem in my Samsung Galaxy S when using GPS Test app. I first contact GPS Test app developer thinking it was a leap year problem, but he answered that he already knew the problem, that is started on february (so it isn't a leap year problem) and that it doesn't happen in all android devices. So I checked GPS Test UTC date in my wife's Sony Xperia Neo V and the UTC date was OK!
Then, I checked UTC date in my phone using a differente app (GPS Essentials), and again UTC date reported was wrong.
I'm wondering if it could be an Android-related problem or a GPS-Chip hardware problem.

superruizma

[Q] Received date for SMS in the past by 4 hours

I have tried a few different roms and the majority of them display the received date 4 hours in the past and I am not sure what is causing it. I first noticed it in the Don Solari rom and the Freya rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765247)
I have read through the threads and people have reported it but without resolution. Since this spans multiple roms I figured I would post the issue here. DST is enabled and my time zone is -5 Eastern Time (US & Canada). I have seen the work around for the 2016 date but obviously this isn't applicable however I have applied the patch anyways without resolution.
I may just have to revert to the original rom I was using as I didn't experience the problem with that rom.
Cheers.

GPS problem

I've been using Nokia Lumia 920 for more than three weeks. Everything works fine except GPS at least for myself.
I used to have daily running so I installed an app MapMyRun to record all in my previous device Galaxy S2, and now Runtastic in Lumia 920.
However, when started using Lumia, GPS becomes my nightmere. Not like S2 which GPS is fast to position and very stable, Lumia 920 is always unstable and even hard to position my location. Unfortunately I just have one record that keeps all tracks until now. Think the chip boarded in Lumia 920 is supposed to be same as what I realize in Galaxy S2. Therefore, I don't know what's going on and not sure if anyone else here has encounters the same.
It would be appreciated if someone can raise some suggestions or ideas or just wait for Nokia's update.
Many thanks,
Was having some GPS issues (long time to find GPS signal/location, no tracking once location was changed) since my last hard reset (about 2 weeks ago) but this morning updated to the latest firmware release for my region (Firmware version number 1232.5951.1249.1007) and tested Nokia Maps this morning and it was very quick, so maybe the update did something. I saw a press release a month ago talking about what was getting updating with this firmware update but can't recall if it said GPS in there. It is supposed to stop the random reboots that I am having.

Help Please

I installed an Android head unit in my wife's VW some 3 or 4 years ago.
Most features work just fine but there are three problems.
The RDS AF (auto follow) does not work even though the AF box is checked. So as we drive out of the area of one transmitter in a network the radio does not automatically retune to the next one. This is her number 1 complaint.
There is a small battery drain when the keys are removed from the car so after a 2 or 3 week holiday the battery is flat.
The boot time is very slow
Can these problems be solved with an update?
Thanks

Wandefoo Android 8 Opel Astra H connectivity issue

Hi all,
I hope you can help me with the following issue.
I purchased a Wandefoo Android 8 head unit on AliExpress for my Opel Astra H. Great unit, I love it. It has only one big issue;
Every now and again (one or two times per week) the Bluetooth and wifi connectivity appear to crash/go offline. When that happens you cannot connect blue tooth devices, it doesn't connect to any familiar devices or connect to wifi. The buttons are there but they appear to be irresponsive. Wifi is in off status unable to set it to on. Bluetooth opens the bluetooth menu but it doesn't do anything. It remains this way until one or a combination of the steps below are taken:
Only solutions are (a mix) of these step:
- Reboot the device by holding power button (Most of the time do that twice).
- If that doesn't solve it; reset the wifi/bluetooth settings in the systems menu.
- If that doesn't solve it; go the the recovery menu and delete the cache.
Then it will run for a couple of rides.
It never happens when it is working and you are driving. It changes after shutting down the car and thus the radio. I also tried to change the quick wake to a regular reboot everytime, but that doesn't prevent the issue from occurring.
I hope any of you can help me with this, or by fixing the issues or applying the proper updates/patches to this device. I have seen a tremendous amount of devices here and I don't know what fits my device. These are my specs:

For those that might stumble on to this;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...ifi-bluetooth-waking-t3852206/page6?nocache=1
Might have some solutions for you. I'm still in the middle of checking and testing and can't confirm yet.
It basically says two things;
1. Resetting the internal USB (hub) module through root and a script might solve some issues.
2. As it appears some new chips have been released solving these issues.
Hope it helps anyone.
Cheers Ben

GPS Week Number Rollover (on LineageOS 14.1 for P8 Lite)

Hi all,
On the 6th of April all my GPS loggings (I happen to be using Strava, but I presume all apps will be equally affected) started reporting all events as if they took place back in 1999. I updated my ROM from RR-N-v5.8.5-20180302 to LineageOS 14.1 for P8 Lite which was just released (thanks to DarkJoker360) - hoping it was going to fix this GPS Week Number rollover event - but sadly it didn't. There is a workaround - but it involves exporting a GPX file, running a script which adds 1024 weeks and then uploading it again.
Any suggestions about getting it fixed?
Thanks a lot
Tomasz.
Hi.
I'm having the same problem but using an old Samsung S3 which I use with Oruxmaps kind of as a GPS navigator.
The problem seems to be in the GPS firmware chip, it doesn't take into account this is the third rollover it thinks it's the second rollover again ( 1999 )
I suppose that firmware will never be updated, so fixes should be in software, be the ROM or in the APP post receiving data from GPS.
I still don't find any ROM which fixes this problem.

I know it doesn't help, but if you want good GPS and stable rom, use persona's mod.
I am stuck with exactly the same issue since November 3rd (2019). the date is incorrect, and so my paragliding flight apps will not accept the date as valid. huge problem for me, can't find any solutions so far. seems like almost nobody is talking about this issue.
Can anyone help?
