[Q] How Can You Tell Where Your International Note is From? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my International Note from Amazon and I was wondering how can you tell where this is from? I know a lot of people got the German version but I just can't tell which country mine was for? Can someone help me?

if you did not flash any ROM
check ur CSC code

Check under the battery. That's where the hardware was made. CSC is the region of the software. Mine is "Made By Samsung", but a lot of others are reporting "Made In Korea" and other places.

I live in the Netherlands but received the Polish version apparently - easily noticable because the manual was only in Polish language - no English whatsoever
Also when i first booted it, the startup text was in Polish

Does it say Made in Japan?
I'm curious where my German one was made as it simply says "Made by Samsung."

what language is the user manual in?

Is that what it actually says under the battery?
And just my "two cents"...
It says "Made in Korea by Samsung" on my German Note, which I bought brand new. It came with manuals in German and English and the language was set up to German when I powered the phone for the first time.

Mine is "Made By Samsung", and i got english, norwegian, swedish and danish manuals. Purchased it from Tele2 (Norway).

Mine says Made in Japan on the battery.
Bought Unlocked in India.

I've certainly seen Samsung branded batteries made in Japan. But what does it say on the label of the phone itself, the sticker located UNDER the battery? The same sticker that shows IMEI and S/N ...

Under my says Made By Samsung

Mine too.
Is there a country named Samsung or something? Where are these "Made By Samsung" units actually produced? Japan? Korea? China? Republic of Samsung?

if written "Made By Samsung" that means it is actually made in China. Most of the battries made in Japan.

Its probably cheaper for you to buy one from HK. You can upgrade the rom anyway.
Look on ebay, or just google!

can someone buy it from korea ? if so, where and how.
i need an english import site, i dont care about the price.
also, will the gsm/3g works ?
I have pre-ordered from Expansys which has very good consumer policies ... they list the Optimus 2X for most countries and in local currency. Check it out for your country. I have ordered mine from the Singapore Expansys site for shipment to Vietnam.

I don't know if it will work on european networks, but the korean version looks different from the europe version so have a look at it before ordering.

Hi,
I'm actually in `korea rightnow, have checked out some stores but if I understand correctly they only sell this phone with a SK contract.
Even the LG store couldn't sell it.
Another store owner told me they were recalled though....

SM-N920I from Singapore with no Region sticker

I bought my 920i off of eBay, it came from Singapore and there was no region sticker on the box like my previous international phones. Is the Singapore version not a true international version or is it not region locked? Has anyone who bought the 920i from Singapore had the region sticker on their box?

Thanks. After I changed my Google search term it came back with quite a few posts saying that the Singapore version is not region locked. As long as Samsung does not change it I guess I will just buy from Singapore in the future.

Note 9 N9600 in Canada PDAPLAZA

HI All, I am ordered the note 9 from PDAPLAZA the N9600, to be able to use dual sim. I live in Canada I will be using it with Telus and rogers. Looking at the forums here it sounds like there are some issues using this model with the networks in Canda.
Can someone please who bought this model in Canada comment if the phone work fine with the networks. Also any limitation like play store, pay app, or otheres.
Also, if someone bought it from PDAPLAZA can you comment if the phone comes with English or Chinese?
thanks for the help

I got the SM-N9600 from PDAPlaza. It works fine, but the one thing I'm looking into right now is how to change the country code easily to a Canadian one without completely flashing the phone (as the firmware available for that specific model doesn't have a Canadian option, so I'd have to go with SM-N960W firmware, and I'm not sure if flashing with that version of firmware on a model number that doesn't match will have any negative effects). It's not a big deal, except that Samsung Pay doesn't work and assumes I'm in China. The other option I've read is to just keep it as it is and use Google Pay instead.
If you come across anything on that topic, let me know.

Thank you for the info. If it just samsung pay is the limitation then it should be fine. Can I ask you when you got the phone, was it sealed? Also, was it in English when you first set it up? and did it have a US adapter.

I just got it in the mail on Wednesday (ordered it on Sunday, so pretty quick turn around over the long weekend). Everything was totally sealed and when you start it up you can select English right off the bat. I just got rid of the additional Chinese keyboard language settings and made it either English (US or Canada). The charger is an Asian one, but they send an adapter with it. Also, the cord is USB, so it can be used with any other plug-in. I'm not sure if that affects the fast charging, so I'll probably get an induction charger instead anyways. If you're switching over from a different brand, the Samsung Switch app is awesome. I just finished it and got everything, including my messages transferred from my iPhone.

Hey there, thanks for the helpful info. Just womdering, have you noticed anything megative with network speeds? And I presume you got that model so you can root, correct? Have you had any luck? I saw the whole guide and everything, just curious if it was worked out for a canadian as well.
I received the 512GB from PDAplaza, it is great! for some reason, I found it much faster than the unlocked one 512Gb i bought from amazon US Version. Please note the device comes with Chinese first, you need to change the language, samsung pay and samsung members are stuck to hong kong.
I got the N9600 from Hong Kong and I am with Fido network right now. As soon as booted it up it was all in chinese but quickly changed to english, so no problems there. However, sadly it only runs on 4G network, no LTE

Use of the SM-N950U in europe (italy)

Hi, I bought an Unlocked Note 8 N950U from a UK seller on Ebay who had written N950F in the listing, now I am in dispute with PP and I have to decide what to do. I would like to know a safe information if possible: can it be more dangerous for health (radiation or other) to use the American model N950U in Italy (Europe) compared to the European model N950F? (ho-mobile operator) regardless of the firmware that I install? Thank you very much.

For all my years on XDA, I have never seen this question asked.
I would guess it would be exactly the same. But I think this is probably a question to ask Samsung themselves.
Here is the link for Samsung UK Support.

My brain is turned off today, contact Samsung Support in your country, probably be more helpful ?

Maybe ! I have already tried to contact Samsung assistance but Italy assistance responds only for European models and USA assistance answers only for American models and therefore no conclusions can be drawn.

Here are a few links that might help. The first link mentioned the N950F signal radiation (SAR).
https://www.samsung.com/sar/sarMain?site_cd=uk&prd_mdl_name=SM-N950F
Here is USA n950u:
https://www.samsung.com/sar/sarMain?site_cd=uk&prd_mdl_name=SM-N950U&selNatCd=US&languageCode=EN
Rest is general numbers:
https://www.rfsafe.com/phone/samsung-galaxy-note-8-0/

You can google search for either note 8 sar numbers or note 8 radiation numbers or SM-N950F or SM-N950U radiation numbers for more info.
