I bought my 920i off of eBay, it came from Singapore and there was no region sticker on the box like my previous international phones. Is the Singapore version not a true international version or is it not region locked? Has anyone who bought the 920i from Singapore had the region sticker on their box?

Thanks. After I changed my Google search term it came back with quite a few posts saying that the Singapore version is not region locked. As long as Samsung does not change it I guess I will just buy from Singapore in the future.

I just got my International Note from Amazon and I was wondering how can you tell where this is from? I know a lot of people got the German version but I just can't tell which country mine was for? Can someone help me?
if you did not flash any ROM
check ur CSC code
Check under the battery. That's where the hardware was made. CSC is the region of the software. Mine is "Made By Samsung", but a lot of others are reporting "Made In Korea" and other places.
I live in the Netherlands but received the Polish version apparently - easily noticable because the manual was only in Polish language - no English whatsoever
Also when i first booted it, the startup text was in Polish

Is that what it actually says under the battery?
And just my "two cents"...
It says "Made in Korea by Samsung" on my German Note, which I bought brand new. It came with manuals in German and English and the language was set up to German when I powered the phone for the first time.
Mine is "Made By Samsung", and i got english, norwegian, swedish and danish manuals. Purchased it from Tele2 (Norway).
Mine says Made in Japan on the battery.

I've certainly seen Samsung branded batteries made in Japan. But what does it say on the label of the phone itself, the sticker located UNDER the battery? The same sticker that shows IMEI and S/N ...

Mine too.
Is there a country named Samsung or something? Where are these "Made By Samsung" units actually produced? Japan? Korea? China? Republic of Samsung?
if written "Made By Samsung" that means it is actually made in China. Most of the battries made in Japan.

Hello guys I want to buy the Note 5 but I'm a little bit confused with the models they're available! For start I'm living in Germany and I'm going to use the phone with Vodafone. To be honest I don't care about LTE.
I saw in Internet that they're a couple of versions like 920C, 920CD, 920i, 9208 etc.
Which are the difference between them? I really like to buy the dual Sim version of the phone.
Thanks in advance!

920c and 920i are unbranded without any carrier. I am currently using 920c.
Check out this Web site
http://www.willmyphonework.net/
You can select your country/carrier etc then select the phone you want and it will tell you if it's compatible. ...
So unbranded mean ? I'm also using 920c

This is a difficult situation. Made in....assembled in......produced in....
To the very best of my knowledge even IF ones mobile says "Made in China" it is likely that means assembled in China.
All manufacturers source their components from different sources and assemble them in a factory.
Mercedes is a German brand of car, not only are certain models made in other countries but all Mercedes cars will have numerous pieces made in other countries and the same piece can be sourced in Taiwan, China, UK, Malaysia etc. Even some of the great 'Swiss' watches have pieces made abroad even if its the base material they use.
I think its an impossible question to answer.

What method of quality control and testing did you use in arriving at that conclusion?
Ryland
AT&T version says Manufactured in Korea on the back.
Mine is European unlocked (exynos) version and is manufactured in Vietnam.
Depends where you are in the world it seems. I believe United Kingdom and European models are made in Vietnam. Certainly all my previous Samsung phones were.

YES IT DOES! For UN-branded FW, ALL carriers must approve that FW for release!

Because Sammy OS is heavily modded to their linking so it will take time for them to get it all up and running and then testing and then some more testing.

carriers release updates to use on THEIR network; it doesnt matter one bit who you bought the phone from..
thats common knowledge in the cellular world.. Google is the only sometimes "exception", but if their phones are sold by any carrier, i.e. when t mobile sold the nexus 6, it was T Mobile who released/approved updates, NOT Google

it does matter.
in Europe, if you don't get your phone through a carrier you get the F model.
while other variants get their updates through the carrier, F models always get their updates directly from Samsung.
until the note 8 the unbranded models(like the F models) where always first to get updates, because no carrier approval is needed.
edit: correction.
there are carrier specific F models, the carrier branding is in the csc in those cases.
any phone bought from Samsung directly or a store that isn't tied to a carrier will always have an "unbranded" csc in Europe.

So Clove has to open the box and activate the phone and place a 5 minute phone call before they can ship outside the EU because of Samsung region lock... interesting.
Yup it was like that on Note 8 too. Not all international models require that (mine was the UAE model, purchased elsewhere and was still factory sealed when I got it), but some models have region lock and do require that 5min call. Might just be the EU model but not 100% sure.
