Good day Gentlemen,
I am in process of selling my HP TouchPad on ebay.
I am in need of some pre-sales help asap please....I am in the market for buying a tablet...original budget was to be £200 max until I came across the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 which sells on Amazon for £330.
I nearly bought the tab 7.7 last night in time for my holiday in mid June...until I realised two stumbling blocks...
1) The Tab 7.7 has Honeycomb 3.2 which out of experience is horrendously "laggy" / buggy (especially with an overlay like Samsung's poor quality Touchwiz) and is certainly extremely sub-optimal for tablets - ICS is much better. I have heard the 7.7 is indeed laggy etc.
2) I have read that the Galaxy Nexus (or whatever it will be named) official "Google Tablet" is due for release in July....
Problem number 2 makes it a foolhardy idea to purchase a Tab 7.7 especially at the cost of it compared to £150-£200 on the Nexus if it is only 4 weeks away...though I really want a tablet to take on holiday mid June ideally.
So what I need to know if possible please, is :-
"Whether anyone knows if the Nexus tablet is due for UK release in July or whether I'd be better just buying a Samsung Tab 7.7 now & keeping it for a couple of years and forgetting about the Nexus (at least until W8 WOA tablets arrive lol)."
I really would like to see stock version of ICS Android 4.0 on my next tablet.
Your kind assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kind regards
Hey guys!
Do you think it's too late for me to buy the galaxy note n7000 (international version)?
I know that the N7100 (Galaxy Note 2) has been released and will launch mid-October~mid-November..
It even has pre-orders started on UK sites such as clove.co.uk and handtec.co.uk
I'm just wondering if you think it's a waste of money to buy the n7000 right now as opposed to paying 200 more dollars and buying the N7100.
I did the math and the Note n7000 in brand new is $540 at expansys-usa.com
and the Note 2 N7100 in brand new is $740 at clove.co.uk, handtec.co.uk...
Do you think I should go with the original or the new one?
ALSO!!!!!
******Do you guys know if the original note N7000 will have an update along with Jellybean such as the airview, new camera update and other features from the N7100?
In my opinion, keep your cash for now. Wait until some review sites get the device and check if there are any manufacturing defects or nasty software bugs. Its a temptation i know, but try to hold on for just a little longer. You can expect that soon after you get the device the new Nexus along with the new android version will be announced.
As far as the jelly-bean update for the Note is concerned, we are as clueless as you, there aren't any leaks yet. The safe thing would be to buy the Note II.
Note 1 will get the JB update very soon. Many of the software updates in Note 2 you should see in the Note 1.
With the Note 2 expected arrival, Samsung has already dropped the price of the Note 1. The Note 1 is still a awesome device.
Get the Note 1, I say.
Note 2 if you can afford it I must say..
Sold my Note 1 2 days ago for 22k and ordered by Note 2. It is officially launched in our country yesterday and will arrive in 3-4 days at my shipping address.
JB will be available for Note 1 also in a short time but not the hardware features lol.
Go for Note 2.
When you're waiting for the Note 1 to get JB, Note 2 comes with it preinstalled.
Not to mention that hopefully all the issues with the first Note have been fixed in the Note 2.
Although the price of the Note 1 will probably continue to drop, the cost of the Note 2 will be worth it.
I'm almost certainly buying the new Nexus when it comes out. Knowing that the Note will probably move into a "secondary" phone position for me, is the Note 1 a better choice?

I think u should wait for note 2 if u have more money better hardwear and yes note 1 wilk have jelly bean update i think in nov likr in a month and half so its all ur choice
Development-wise, I'd say go for the original note. If you look at our forum here, we have ripe roms, kernels, mods, and tweaks what not that are sure to cater to everyone's tastes. That, plus It'll take a while for development to start with the note2. And if you'll have a look at azrienoch's latest vid, (if what he says does come through, which I really do hope does not) things aren't so rosy.

the new note won't get airview and won't get camera updates making it faster cause there are hardware improvements required for those updates.. You better buy the note 2
if you ask me this is just the right time to buy note if you find with reasonable price. because note just got a decent rom LRT. has enough hardware power and versus note 2 for me i prefer 1280 * 800 over 1280 * 720. but dont forget my reasonable price requirement. here in Turkey they still sell it from 880 USD.

if money is not an issue, I'd say you go for the Note 2. Clearly... it has all the best and right features that the original one has yet to get. Hardware wise.. the original one isn't even comparable enough (we'll unless you overclock it, but still.. it has a limitation to it). Software part.. the new Note 2 has the official stock TW JB 4.1 installed already... Something that all of us here using the original one is still yearning to use and experience. Yeah there are a lot of custom JB Roms out there... but nothing still beats the official JB that Samsung has released already for the new Note.
So yeah, Go for the Note 2.. that is the best recommendation I can offer you.
P.S. Don't ask for any ETA updates when Samsung will release the official JB, co'z it's anybody's guess when they're going to release it. It might be this next month.. or next year.. who knows.....
Its already been launced in India y'day and estore price $758 (offering free bluetooth headset)
But usally in open market you should get 15-20 $ less to it.
Indian user may get some benefit by raising Rs value to $ since 1wk, i think its at least 2.5Rs / $ in last 5 days. ultimately make cheaper Rs1500 or more.
Back to topic
In my point of view, Note 2 is worth to spend 200$ extra
I agree, You should ideally hang out for the Note 2 if you can afford it
Thats not to say the Note 1 is becoming obsolete ! The Note 1 is still an awesome device with plenty of life left in it.
And if you can get it for a great price, then you wouldnt regret it !
Im going to get the Note 2 and give the Note 1 to my misses. (she thinks she's getting the Note 2 because its her time for a renewal ! my my my, How wrong is she ! lol )
It's too early to buy the N7000. After the launch of the N7100 prices N7000 will decline significantly. If $ 200 is not a problem I would advise to buy N7100.
I got my Galaxy Note 2 weeks ago and very happy with it, The reason I didn't wait for the Note II is that I don't really need all the new features of the Note II.
As I said before my Note serves all my needs and also the new apps added in the latest ICS 4.0.4 makes the Note alot better and smoother.
At the end it is personal preferences.
Regards

Oh note ll is priced around 40K in india or around 750$... Its too costly right now

The Note is still worth it's money. If the Note 2 is too expensive for you then go for a Note. You won't be disappointed.

Right
Once jellybean will added to note 1, then you can't say 200$ is worth to pay for note 2.

For me the only disadvantage of the Note is the burn in problem. And that has not been solved with the Note 2. Ok there is quad core, nfc and lte. I don't need those but I cannot speak for you.

Hi guys,
I apologise in advance if this is a dappy question but I have been googling etc and cant find a definitive answer. Basically I have an S5. Im looking to buy a Galaxy Gear 1 (VM700) which I may upgrade at a later date but I feeel the original will be a good starter for me. My question is; is the watch compatible with the S5. Does anyone have 1 and can they confirm everything works. Even Samsung doesn't state if its possible.
I may pop down town later to get it but would rather have an answer to save me a wasted trip if possible.
Thanks in advance for any help, Much Appreciated
Ben
S5? Yes the at&t for example s5 is fully supported by the gear 1 watch. I use it every day myself for the past year.
I'm guessing the S6 *should* work - will post back an update if I find out.
Yes. I have this.
Yes, I have one and fully support Note 3 and S5.
Yes. S5 works with the Galaxy Gear 1 (tried myself).
Hi All:
If they deal with me as fear as they deal with Galaxy S6 / 6 Edge owners I wouldn't complain and I will wait patiently for the update to come, where Galaxy S6 / 6 Edge are getting nearly weekly updates and issue fix and nothing for other smartphones.
the problem for the Note 4 updates that they have to wait double time to make it compatible with the Gear VR !!!!!!
So Samsung think it is not a problem to let the majority of the Note 4 owners angry with Software full of bugs, to satisfy the few Gear VR kids.
I believe that we should push Samsung to change that miserable update policy and not to link Note 4 updates to Gear VR or anything else.
Samsung should deal with smartphones updates in equal way, they should understand that if I bought a Samsung device that will not be the end of the story and they can put me on hold as much as they wish.
Samsung should hear the voice of the people, and they should know the number of unsatisfied owners of Samsung smartphones (Note 4, Note 3 & Galaxy S5.....ect.
I think the way to go is by using social media , twitter & Facebook pages in different languages, to let Samsung & the future customers for Samsung to know that we are facing issues with Samsung software update policy, where they ignore their smartphone software after short time

Samsung doesn't really care about their customers...besides there aren't many people like us on XDA where we wait for the latest and greatest update.I wish they changed over these past years but they didn't.
Posting on social media won't make one single bit of difference they will not update the phone any quicker than they do now, one of the main reasons it takes longer to update the Note 4 is because there is alot more stuff within Touchwiz on the Note series than there is on the S series this takes longer to test and debug before they release it to the public unfortunately.
The S6 is brand new and with it being brand new it came with alot of critical bugs that need to be fixed asap, hence why your seeing more updates for the S6.
The Note 4 will get the updates it still a flagship you just have to be patient, if your not happy with Lollipop then switch back to Kitkat which was alot more stable and bug free than Lollipop currently is until the time comes they release 5.1 or 5.1.1.
