Samsung Ignorance for Note 4 issues - Galaxy Note 4 General

Hi All:
If they deal with me as fear as they deal with Galaxy S6 / 6 Edge owners I wouldn't complain and I will wait patiently for the update to come, where Galaxy S6 / 6 Edge are getting nearly weekly updates and issue fix and nothing for other smartphones.
the problem for the Note 4 updates that they have to wait double time to make it compatible with the Gear VR !!!!!!
So Samsung think it is not a problem to let the majority of the Note 4 owners angry with Software full of bugs, to satisfy the few Gear VR kids.
I believe that we should push Samsung to change that miserable update policy and not to link Note 4 updates to Gear VR or anything else.
Samsung should deal with smartphones updates in equal way, they should understand that if I bought a Samsung device that will not be the end of the story and they can put me on hold as much as they wish.
Samsung should hear the voice of the people, and they should know the number of unsatisfied owners of Samsung smartphones (Note 4, Note 3 & Galaxy S5.....ect.
I think the way to go is by using social media , twitter & Facebook pages in different languages, to let Samsung & the future customers for Samsung to know that we are facing issues with Samsung software update policy, where they ignore their smartphone software after short time

Samsung doesn't really care about their customers...besides there aren't many people like us on XDA where we wait for the latest and greatest update.I wish they changed over these past years but they didn't.

Posting on social media won't make one single bit of difference they will not update the phone any quicker than they do now, one of the main reasons it takes longer to update the Note 4 is because there is alot more stuff within Touchwiz on the Note series than there is on the S series this takes longer to test and debug before they release it to the public unfortunately.
The S6 is brand new and with it being brand new it came with alot of critical bugs that need to be fixed asap, hence why your seeing more updates for the S6.
The Note 4 will get the updates it still a flagship you just have to be patient, if your not happy with Lollipop then switch back to Kitkat which was alot more stable and bug free than Lollipop currently is until the time comes they release 5.1 or 5.1.1.

[Q] Too late to buy the N7000?

Hey guys!
Do you think it's too late for me to buy the galaxy note n7000 (international version)?
I know that the N7100 (Galaxy Note 2) has been released and will launch mid-October~mid-November..
It even has pre-orders started on UK sites such as clove.co.uk and handtec.co.uk
I'm just wondering if you think it's a waste of money to buy the n7000 right now as opposed to paying 200 more dollars and buying the N7100.
I did the math and the Note n7000 in brand new is $540 at expansys-usa.com
and the Note 2 N7100 in brand new is $740 at clove.co.uk, handtec.co.uk...
Do you think I should go with the original or the new one?
ALSO!!!!!
******Do you guys know if the original note N7000 will have an update along with Jellybean such as the airview, new camera update and other features from the N7100?
In my opinion, keep your cash for now. Wait until some review sites get the device and check if there are any manufacturing defects or nasty software bugs. Its a temptation i know, but try to hold on for just a little longer. You can expect that soon after you get the device the new Nexus along with the new android version will be announced.
As far as the jelly-bean update for the Note is concerned, we are as clueless as you, there aren't any leaks yet. The safe thing would be to buy the Note II.
Note 1 will get the JB update very soon. Many of the software updates in Note 2 you should see in the Note 1.
With the Note 2 expected arrival, Samsung has already dropped the price of the Note 1. The Note 1 is still a awesome device.
Get the Note 1, I say.
Note 2 if you can afford it I must say..
Sold my Note 1 2 days ago for 22k and ordered by Note 2. It is officially launched in our country yesterday and will arrive in 3-4 days at my shipping address.
JB will be available for Note 1 also in a short time but not the hardware features lol.
Go for Note 2.
When you're waiting for the Note 1 to get JB, Note 2 comes with it preinstalled.
Not to mention that hopefully all the issues with the first Note have been fixed in the Note 2.
Although the price of the Note 1 will probably continue to drop, the cost of the Note 2 will be worth it.
I'm almost certainly buying the new Nexus when it comes out. Knowing that the Note will probably move into a "secondary" phone position for me, is the Note 1 a better choice?

So we'll get it in 2017 most likely.
Id say more like 2020
Check sammobile last firmware for n910c was 01 of August and for n910f some day in July.
So guess when
Haha so ironic. Maybe we will got it nearly 2020.
I'd say 2220. And it'll be buggy and kill our batteries.

M? what about 5.1.1? Samsung, I hate you.
M will come in the beginning of 2016 in a version so bad that it will make your phone useless to celebrate the release of the S7.
Yes I'm a seer lol.
When?We wait Lollipop 5.1.1 and who know when we get,so M come but we dont be live or our note 4.
Android Lollipop was also confirmed to the note 2. xD
What I find very instructive is that GS5 isn't in the list. It will not even have 18 months of updates.
IMHO, if Samsung don't want us to buy their devices, they can just tell us. It's far more simple that showing us at every occasion that they don't care about their customers.
Android 6.0? I'm still waiting for damn 5.1.1.
I think Samasung talk some sh ite
Its gonna be a while before Huwaeis Nexus 6 or Note 6 (hopefully with microsd and IR, replacable battery comes out). So Note 4 with Android M would be sweet. Hopefully it will release by new year!

I'll believe it when I see it. Samsung can't even clean up their act when it comes to Lollipop.

Note 4 Nougat Petition

Hello Note 4 users and lovers.
I've created a petition for official note 4 Nougat update.
Please sign and share if you can.
Thanks
https://www.change.org/p/samsung-sa...utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
Petition only applies to users of F version. Why does not include C version users?

Dude, we're still getting monthly security updates and we should be thankful for that. If you want the latest and greatest Android version, upgrade your phone. Note 4 is old, it's acceptable if it doesn't received Nougat.

Your petition is biased.
Why not SM-N910 to make it general?
Anyway I'm of the opinion that since the phone was released in October 2014, it should be updated to Nougat because its two-year OS eligibility falls within the time Nougat was officially released by Google.
Not to mention we would have a Note7 by now if Samsung hadn't messed it up. But I agree, the petition is not inclusive for all models .
I only said that I have the F version. I didn't said that only that version deserved the update.

I agree completely, it should be N910 in general but I saw the OP reply below and he is correct that the petition he wrote it just stating his model and not to get nougat only for the F model. I also agree with the second point and have been sort of annoyed with Samsung for this, it's supposed to be 2 year OS update so as mentioned, Oct. 2014 for Note 4 launch and since Nougat came out in August 2016 we should have it. Add to that, a lot of us Note 4 owners bought, and ultimately lost, the Note 7's thanks to Samsung and as a gesture to sort of make up for that they should have added the Note 4 to the Nougat release.
Anyway going slightly off topic;
I love my Note 4 but am ready for a new device. Personally, I love the s-pen and hate to give it up but if the pricing rumors hold true and the conversion to Canadian is somewhat accurate it would be in the $1300 range (give or take) for the S8 so Note 8 would likely be in the same price range. No way will I accept those prices but I will wait and see with the S8 info that comes later today and decide from there. The Note 7 was $1050 CDN, I won't support Samsung if the Note 8 is anything above MAX $1100 CDN and less than 64GB storage (and better have expandable) as that is expensive enough as it is and pushing it IMO.
I'm waiting to see the OnePlus 5 later this year and will likely buy that if Samsung starts going to ridiculous Apple prices. Google also lost me after the Pixel phones being ridiculously overpriced as well. I mean, they want more for the Pixel XL than Samsung wanted for the Note 7... WTF Google?!? That's like LG and HTC thinking they can price at the same range as Samsung as well when they have so little to offer or reason to buy over Samsung and especially over some of these new phones from OnePlus, Huawei, etc... but $1180 for 128GB Pixel XL/$1050 for 32GB Pixel XL compared to $1050 for 64GB Note 7 and well the Note 7 was the far better deal, and phone.
Anyway, that's my rant/2 cents lol.
As long as you are all in signing mode, here is a petition where you can state all you want in the Note8

The 2012's iphone 5 still getting ios updates #respect to apple

Will you update to the Note 9?

Samsung is going to host an unpack at NYC Aug 9th 2018,
since we missed the note 7, did not update to note 8, how about note 9?
Hi, i still have my N920C Note 5 running totally fine on Extreme Debloated ROM 3.3 since a few years now as my daily driver. I am still unsure about any major improvements to spend/waste cash and ditch my Note 5 for a newer one. However, i wish that there was a newer version of my current ROM since i'm stuck on Android 6.0 (i don't think the other ROMs are better to be honest, especially on the battery) but like i said, it's all working fine. I can still take some nice pictures and videos on Auto mode. I watched a video review by MKBHD and wasn't particularly impressed by the Note 9.
For those who are interested in the latest Note, i would advise to just wait a bit for real world usage reviews to start coming in. Don't rush to purchase something which has failed spectacularly in the past with the Note 7.
No, you'd have to be an idiot to fork up to a Samsung phone knowing that they won't support it for very long.
You're better off buying Xiaomi phones on a regular basis, for a fraction of the cost. Furthermore, becuase they use modern - medium/high end hardware, your battery lasts longer.
Samsung needs to step up their game. They don't deserve the level of trust the brand implies.
In comparison I did borrow a Xiaomi Note 5 Plus for a month ($154usd), it was significantly faster than my note 5, had Android 8.0, 10 hrs screen on time and easily 4-7+ days with quite regular usage. I don't often even get 1 anymore, depending on how I use the note 5. Our device sucks and we do not have any active rom support what so ever. All of our updates now revolve around Google's monthly security patches.

4 to 7 day battery life, 10 hours of screen on time. /r/thathappened
The Xiaomi Note 5 Plus is worse in every aspect compared to the Note 5 besides modern Android support.
Seems like you bought the Note 5 for the wrong reasons.
I guess I value higher quality components over having a newer version of Android.
Got mine on order
Can't wait for root for it
in my country
note 5 $11.000
note 8 $38.000
note 9 $50.000??
where a salary avg is around $25.000, love samsung, but their prices are very high! samsung is a mother fu*k*#$ crazy!
I won't get one. I love my Note FE. Am on Oreo. Just the right size. The Note 9 is too big!
You must be crazy to invest again on Samsung.
Note 5 was my personal lesson in order to blacklist this company which doesn't respect me as a customer.
You cannot ask your customers to pay a premium price and then abandon them like this...
The company I work gave me the S9+ within the bonus list. Didn't even open the box and sold it with no regrets.
Furthermore Samsung is not leading technology in android anymore.
Want to get the best camera in the market , Samsung is not the option.
Want the best speed in the market , Samsung is not the option.
Want the best battery in the market , Samsung is not the option.
Want the best price/performance ratio , Samsung is not the option.
Want the best android update support , Samsung is not the option.
Want any combination of the above , Samsung is not an option...
NEVER AGAIN Samsung.

General Purchasing decision.

Hello,
I recently bought the GT 5G, without knowing that GT 2 is on its way. Now, I can easily return the GT and preorder de GT 2. Looking at the GT 2, it has:
better camera (which I don't really care)
bigger display
bigger battery
corning gorilla glass 5
nonetheless, the promise of 3 years of major android updates.
I appreciate the new update policy, slightly bigger battery and corning gorilla glass. What are your guys thoughts, if you were in my position, and for those that have it, how is the experience so for, are pleased with the phone ?
P.S: I paid for my GT 5G Yellow Racing - 448 € Currently the GT 2 (12 GB variant) is on preorder for 545 €
Thank you !
Depending where you are the GT 2 128gb is 449€ again on amazon spain.
For that price I would return it.
I'm loving the phone apart from a small issue on the screen. Super quick charge, great camera, navigation feels fluid and quick, no lag or anything. For my use, no games, it's more than enough.
I just wish it was a little smaller, I'm not used to it.
3 years of updates isn't a good reason from my view point except maybe to fix the Android 12 fubar
Seriously if the current firmware is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission... let it be.
This Samsung N10+ is still running very well on Pie. I have no intentions of ever "upgrading" to 11 or 12... maybe 10 although it's no cherry.
If you can turn it and not lose much money, ok.
Otherwise maybe wait for the next release; get a phone and OS version you like and ride it for a while.
Fk the hype sales gimmicks... both Google and Samsung taught me that

Reading this makes total sense I have the GT 5G for about a week now and one thing is very clear, the support for realme in Europe is really bad compared to India for example. The forum for global community is empty . By the time it take to roll a stable update for any of the android version for that 3 year promise, will be a journey ...
Truth be told, I cannot complain about this GT 5G, coming from a Samsung Note 8, it's a blast to navigate the phone

The N8 is ancient. I had a S4+ before the N10+'s... yeah future shock. Lol, I was running on Kitkat/Touchwiz for years.
The Note series zenith was the N10+, after which Samsung has dropped more balls than a spastic labrador.
I don't blame you for bailing
And you got a 3.5mm jack... unfortunately no SD card slot. I would like to see Samsung have more effective competition now that LG is gone.
The problem with smaller manufacturers is less devices and often less support by fellow users.
3 yrs update is a very good reason to get GT 2 as GT was launched with android 11 and 2 years update policy.
With GT 2 launching with android 12 + 3 yrs update u will get updates till android 15 , while on GT only till android 13. Thats 2 years of better software support.
Good decision.
