Has anyone used this?
Stumbled on it in the market and it's pretty cool. You can extract either apk or the apk + data from your clockwork backups whether user apps or system. Plus other things like freezing apps, It's saved me alot of time after a clean restore.

Ahh... I had the same issue, you have to go into settings and make sure you have the right file selected, i believe on the revo its location is different from most meaning non standard location, so you just find where your backups are and type in the path. Hope that helps

spot on! the backup was created in a folder called xrecovery, whereas, the app looks for the backups in the clockworkmod folder, so i renamed xrecovery to clockworkmod, and it worked fine, thanks!

Your contacts are backed up by Google and as far as your apps, I advise you to back them up with either titanium backup or mybackup pro...

He's right another thing that's helpful IMO is once u back up all of ur apps using titanium back up it creates a folder on ur sd I went in there and copied all of my apps created a folder on my sd and pasted them there for extra precaution and made a second copy of the folder on my pc for an extra back up that way no matter what I have all of my apps
Note I turn off file compression on titanium back up if I didn't I couldn't install them without titanium wen I backed up with out any compression I can install any of my apps with any file manger well hope this helps good luck

use rom manager, and just backup your rom. Itll save EVERYTHING. If you want to revert, install ROM manager on your current rom, click restore from backup, and there you go! Simple as that.

Actually, when you do a wipe, as soon as you're back into your phone just go straight to the market and go to your downloads, it always seems to save them there. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you're changing to a ROM with a different version of android (I.e. going from Fresh to Cyanogenmod).

Could also do a nandroid...
I have written a script to backup installed apps from your current rom, as well as some databases, and data, and package it nicely into an update.zip that can be flashed from CWM, which GREATLY decreases the amount of time it takes me to get back up and running after a flash.
Now, I share it with you.
Requirements: Have ADB on your system, and have it in your PATH variable... the same goes for JAVA.
Usage: Run the batch file, and follow the instructions.
Enjoy.
does this backup market links?
It does not, and you will have to repair permissions on the files in /data/data and /dbdata/ manually as the script does not do that yet. I am half way through a .net app that will add that functionality to the .zip

sweet ive been looking for a desktop tool that could do something like that or to even create a whole nandroid backup, but none of them backup market links.
Doesn't TiBu already do this?
if you could make a backup of widgets on my homescreen.. then that would be great lol.

Don't think we will see this until maybe gingerbread. It is posted on the Launcher pro website that the android system isn't setup to do that yet.
That would be so nice tho

And would this work for the Vibrant?
?? compatible with vibrant, or only captivate?
Can someone point me to a thread explaining how to restore a nandroid I made in 902? I used ROM Manager's 5.0.2.5. I broke my screen and now have a new Bionic. I rooted it and updated to 902 and restored all my apps including ROM Manager and Bionic Bootstrap. I had ROM Manager install CWR 5.0.2.5 although I'm not sure if it worked, when I choose to boot into recovery, nothing happens. When I try Bionic Bootstrapper I get the OK to Bootstrap Recovery but when I chose Reboot Recovery it grants SU permission but nothing happens.
Should I not have both installed? Can someone suggest how to install a working recovery so I can make a B/U and it would be great if I could restore the 902 Nandroid I made previously.
I have searched the forums but most is pre-902 and none of it seems to work for me. Any advice would be appreciated.
THX
Try flashing another kernel. Also ensure the backup is on the sdcard in cwm folder.

To get CWM to work you need to flash bootstrapper first. Then open ROM manager and flash CWM. Now you have official CWM installed as recovery.
As to not finding your backups...do you rename them? You can't rename the backups without changing the md5sum file in the backup or when CWM looks for the backup it won't see it since md5sum doesn't match what it is looking for. I guess if you rename it you need to find the md5sum of that newly renamed file and put that sum in the md5sum file in the backup. Now CWM will see it.

Thanks Marshy, I actually got the Bionic Bootstrap to work and made a nandroid with that, I think renaming may be why my old ones seemed to disappear, however my Titanium Backups also seem gone, only my "Mybackup" files seem to still be on the card.
Should I be using ROM Manager instead and if so, should I delete bionic bootstrap or vice-versa?
Thanks so much for the noob help.
Joe
I definitely prefer just going into bootstrap recovery rather than using rom manager. I know for a fact you can rename nandroid backups and they will restore without doing anything with the md5 checksum. However, you cannot put a space in the name. That will cause an error. I always rename my nandroids and have never had one fail to restore using letters, numbers, and dashes (no spaces).
Also, your backups should be on the sdcard-ext in the /clockworkmod/backup folder.
Trying to restore titanium backup of downloaded apps and settings from another device. Apps restore properly but none of the settings do (game scores, etc.)
I have never had a problem restoring to other devices. Is there anything I have to do to fix this?
Dmore rom, semaphore kernel
Had the same problem at one point, tried fixing it but didn't know what to do and nothing seemed to make any difference. And then suddenly one day it was working again.
The only difference i can think of is I updated titanium backup. try that.
If that doesn't work try uninstalling it and reinstalling it (copy the titanium backup folder on your sd card onto your computer just in case it gets deleted, don't think it should.)
Other than that google the problem (Titanium backup wont restore apps - google search), there are ton of similar situations, there's probably an answer out there already that'll work for you

I'm on version 5 so that should be fine. and thanks for the link, although I did not find why data is not being restored.
Strange thing is that data from ONE app was restored but not others. After seeing that I remade the backup but the same thing happened. I wonder if its where the i9000 stores the data of backups is the issue
No other ideas? No one has had this happen?
I've been looking for a solution for two nights, this hasn't happened to anyone?

Go into options of titanium and make sure you have backup external data to always. I run a restore this morning because I was switching ROMs and everything worked fine.

In advanced, there is something to do with sym link. Check that. Try again. Some roms use that.

Restore manually. When you go to the folder with all the backups, there should be a bunch of .tar and other files. Just install the apks on the other phone and manually restore the data in the .tars

I see the tars, and in each tar there is a data folder, another data folder inside, and then the .com folders. what do i restore and where do I put it?
for example, in the AKnotepad .com folder there are these folders:
app_sslcache
databases
shared_prefs
some apps also have a files folder inside the .com
I can just place them using ES file browser with root browsing method on the phone, just am not sure where.
When O had a look into my backups, that had data folders in them. Go on your old phone and see where the files in data folders go. Most go to /data/data. I recommend Root Explorer.

Recently is was using Viper 2.7 with CWM 6.0.3.2. To be able to update to Viper 4.2 i needed to change to TRWP. Everything went ok, but now i still can see some CWM nandroid backups i've made. I can see them only in titanium but i can't find them in the filesystem because i want delete these old CWM backups. I already spend some googling and searching for those damn backups but i can't find them. I have no clockworkmod folder, there is nothing in all thoses backup folders and so on. I was searching with ES-File explorer (with option show hidden files enabled). Does somebody have some hints where i can find these backups so i can delete them?
thanks

In titanium, open the menu and choose "Extract from Nandroid Backup", then it will show you all CWM and/or TWRP backups.

as mentioned above, use a root-enabled file explorer and go to "/data/media/" there you will see "clockworkmod"
thanks, solved.
