Can someone send me a couple of stock apk files? - Motorola Droid Bionic

I messed up my Bionic last night by deleting yahoo mail and contacts. Now my contact manager force closes.
Can someone pull those two apk files from their phone and send them to me?

I tried downloading this link just out of curiosity and it did not work. Megaupload got shutdown the other day.

I had the same problem when I tried to de-bloat the stock 901 update. I think it was caused by removing all of the blur apk files. I tried installing the Contacts.apk file from the Eclipse 2.1 ROM (for 901) and it made things worse. I ended up restoring my backup and doing a more systematic de-bloat. I ended up not removing the blur apps. I did remove the YahooContacts app with no problems. I have all of the stock apps and I should be able to put a couple on dropbox for you when I get home.

I tried the link before I posted it and had no problem. It must have been pulled after I posted. :/
Just tried it again, and all of p3's post looked to be deleted. This SOPA and PIPA sucks big time!!!! :-(

I've had a similar problem with different apks. Since I had so much trouble actually reinstalling those system apps, I just did an advanced restore of an old CWM backup of system only. It will keep all your current user data. Just make sure it's the same ROM! Hopefully you (and others) are in the habit of backing up before and after a new ROM flash.

[Mod] How to make Google Talk video work on 3G

For those of you using Kenneth's rom (me) or with some other way of working Google Talk video calls, I found a way to make it work over more than just wifi. I can't take the slightest credit for it, but considering that I couldn't find any Atrix specific information, I figured I would post this here. Worked great for me!

Excellent this works. You don't need Root Explorer neither "SQLite editor". Both costs money and does not anything in addition what free "SQLite explorer" will do.
This is confirmed as working for me on Kenneth ROMs.
Has anyone tried using the "easiest" method, [root] Talk 1.3 Installer? I tried using a few of those versions, following the instructions to restore back to the backed up Talk app, and none of them worked for me.... Don't know if it was something I did wrong, or what, but I'm not going too far out of my way to fix this when VTOK works sooooooooooo well, even over data!

I haven't tried those methods because the Atrix does things its own ways so I didn't want to risk bricking it.

I hear what you're saying, but I don't think installing a modified Talk app would brick the phone....... I have been wrong before though, so do what feels safer for you! I've swapped a few of them out and had no success, but also haven't had any serious issues like bricking the phone either.... I know going to a few of those will remove your Google account and all you have to do is re-enter your login and the phone will begin downloading all your mail, Picasa account, and Voice account back to it, which takes less than 5 minutes with a decent signal
I tried this app errors out swaying can't copy talk.apk

Yeah I can't imagine as likely either, but some of them sounded like they were messing with mounting and un-mounting system partitions in odd ways. Besides, it sounded like way more work to find one of those that worked, restart and flash multiple times, and so on, than to simply edit one word I would make an Atrix-specific flash for everyone if I knew how it was done, but sadly I don't.
To anyone that does know how: just make a zip that edits that one line in the .db file mentioned in the link of the first post. The app doesn't actually need updating.
As easy as this change is, I don't see the benefit of installing another app to perform the change. Also, I recommend paying for the SQL Lite and (I used root Explorer) apps if you find yourself using them for these types of changes. The developers should be supported when they provide tools that make it so easy to modify the Android system. Lets keep them motivated to continue making such awesome tools.
I can also confirm this worked on the leaked 4.5.91 (beta 4.5) from Kenneth.
Good find!!

Simple, easy and effective. Works flawlessly on GB 2.3.4, Ken's beta 4. Thanks for sharing!

Updated mine a while ago via sqlite guide method and working great. Was going to repost but was brought up I believe earlier in a separate post.
Works pretty well in general on the atrix at least.
the free SQL editor "sqlite" in the market will do this just fine.
So have you guys been able to get video calls to work properly? I used the modaco installer and the calls will start but not actually go through. What method did you use to get it working? Thanks.

Don't use any installers at all. All you need is already on the ROM. You have to go back to original ROM and follow guide above with no additional binaries installed from any other sources.

the modaco installed version does not work. if you used kenneth's GB ROM, then you already have the files. go into your system/app folder, rename talk.apk to talk.bak and rename talk2.apk to talk.apk. that's it.
I've factory reset, flashed redpill and tried again with kenneth one and still can't get the video to work. Doing nothing but installing gtalk.
I get the icon but when trying to start the video, the video chat process crashes and creates a core file.
Not really sure how to debug it further than opening the tombstone.
As the crash is systematic regardless of my ROM, may I ask what Radio are you guys using? I'm on 4.5.91,

I flashed Kenneth ROM then radio. Radio is 4.5.91. No video icon at first.
Then delete talk.apk, renamed talk2.apk to talk.apk, install new talk.apk and video icon appeared and started working on WiFi only.
Then edited database to allow to work over cell data and now it works over cell data as well.
I did not do anything else except from steps above and made it work with no crashes.

Thanks! That was the issue (I reflashed), the lib coming with the rom allows camera to come through.
Putting that file (attached) in /system/lib should resolve the issue for people who like me overwrote it (or used the Talk installer).

Deodexing the BIONIC

With the release of the restore files I felt comfortable enough to give deodexing a shot. Everything but the BlurCalender deodexed beautifully with xUltimate2.3.1. Now to get an AOSP theme!!
I'm new to all this, what does deodexing do for us? I'm guessing it has something to do with themes since you mentioned that.

Ha my NoScript addon blocked your LMGTFY
I almost knew someone was going to do that lol thanks tho man
yea same here, what did you do just remove it or left it odexed?
Using the commands for xUltimate it removes all the odex files so they will probably need to be added. I am having other issues as i did not backup the calender.apk so i need the original before i can experiment.
I ran thru and deodexed everything except the calendar. Was getting a lot of force closures.
I noticed someone else had the same and the he is looking in to it.

I was referring to a manual way to deodex and not use xUltimate as it is not working for the Bionic.
I was able to deoedex everything except the calendar like you.
But when I applied the files to the phone, I started getting a lot of force closures and had to start over.
I am waiting for xeudoxus to take a look and patch xUltimate to work with the Bionic.

You are kidding right? The OP says 'system dump' not 'apks for download'
Do you have a cap on bandwith in your country? If so then I apologize but maybe you can ask another member for individual apps.
The point of a system dump is to provide the community with fun new stuff that may be usable on our tabs.

Okay, got the calendar-widget to work without any lags. Beautiful widget!
The mail-widget doesn't work correctly. I got new mail, but it says I don't got any. The options say that my account is synchronized though.
The bookmarking-widget also works fine and is a nice addition!
The rest I couldn't get to install (except for the launcher which I didn't try yet).
But I thought Lenovo had customized more than only a few widgets and a launcher? (like for example Lenovo Socialtouch)

I really want to try it because I think that launcher has a built in task killer that allows you to kill apps from the app scroller.

[Q] Notification toggles, 1% Battery, etc?

Hello, I am in the process of editing the stock ROM but I have been unable to find a few things I would like to add. I have searched and browsed the forums with no luck so I hope I'm not just overlooking these things. Anyway, I want to add power toggles to the notification slider, add a reboot and screenshot option to the power menu, and lastly change the boot image, and a 1% battery mod.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction or perhaps guide me on how to do these things. I believe changing the boot image would be pretty simple but I haven't seen anything regarding custom boot images. Once I figure out Photoshop I'll most likely just create my own so I really just need to know where to put it, what type of file it is, and what size.
In the FAQ thread in the general section it says something about a 1% battery mod but not much detail is given. I'm not sure if it's the Team Blackhat app that does it or what.
As far as the other two things, I don't really know where to start. I'll continue to look and if I find out anything I'll post back to let you know but like I said I haven't found anything so far. Thanks in advance for any help and thanks will be given!

Nevermind, should have clicked the link first ^_^ thanks again!

[ROM] 8/13 Blackhole Bionic 1.0 {Safestrap/Bootstrap}

Introducing Blackhole Bionic.
<disclaimer>
I cannot guarantee any success on your phone, and any loss of time, money, happiness, life, etc. that happens as a result of flashing this ROM is your own responsibility. I recommend you use Safestrap, but it will work with Bootstrap as well. Always have an FXZ ready in case something goes wrong. If you are on .235 or .238 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST FLASHING THIS OR ANY ROM WITH BOOTSTRAP as there is no way to FXZ to a working build.
</disclaimer>
Some of you may remember me from the Samsung Fascinate or HTC Thunderbolt. I made a ROM called Blackhole, because there was nothing like it, but I wanted there to be. Something with choices. I wanted a ROM that was exactly what I wanted, and nothing that I didn't. No toolboxes, no bloatware, no apps that I'd never use just because the creator wanted to add them. What I created was a stock based ROM that was as empty as I could possibly make it without everything falling apart. And on the Bionic that philosopy has served me well again, as I've created the first Blur Based ROM that is flashable in Safestrap.
This ROM contains none of the usual apps you'd expect to see in a full release. It has been trimmed down to the bare minimum. Why should you keep the stock browser if you only use Chrome? Who needs the MotoEmail if you prefer K9? And why would you want Blockbuster saved on your system partition where you can never get rid of it, when it can be downloaded from the market so easily? The answer? You don't!
Most of the missing apps are downloadable from the market. This saves them on the /data partition where you have plenty of space, not limited by Safestrap.
This is the first public release of Blackhole for the Bionic, and I will be working over time to continue to slim it down and make more options available. Here is a list of what's in the current build. If I've used any of your work without credit I apologize, please let know and I'll credit you, or remove it if you have a problem.
Stock apps: Calendar, Contacts, Phone, Play Store, Search, Settings, Smart Actions*, Talk, Text Messaging
Market apps: Camera ICS*, Nova Launcher*
CM9/AOSP apps: Clock*, Gallery*, File Manager*
Mods: Build.prop edits, governers, and beats audio from RedHead by Sparkyman 216 (A fantastic ROM if you want a full featured, Flash-and-go setup) and 1% battery mod by Dluke (works on stock based .232 .235 or .238 ROMs)
(* indicates a future release will make this file an optional addon with the choice of Stock, CM9/AOSP, or Market apps (free only)
Screenshots
Video Review
Recommendations for replacing removed apps:
Browser: Chrome, Dolphin HD, Firefox
Email: K-9 Mail
Voicemail: Google Voice
I will be adding extra files daily to flash some of the stock apps back to the phone if you prefer them. these include Email, Desk/Car dock launchers, Gallery, Camera, Visual Voicemail, and anything else the users request.
Instructions:
Bootstrap:
1. Make sure you are running a version of bootstrap that will boot to recovery on every bootup. like this one.
2. MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!
3. Data wipe should be unnecessary, but is recommended
4. Flash the downloaded ROM
5. Reboot
6. Install the bootstrap apk again.
7. Bootstrap recovery.
8*. Install a Root File Manager (Root Explorer, ES file manager, Astro, etc.)
9*. Delete /system/vendor/app (except for the swype apk if you use swype)
10*. Delete /preinstall/app
11. Enjoy
*Steps 8, 9 and 10 are not necessary, but will remove the extra bloatware I haven't figured out how to remove with my install script yet.
Safestrap:
1. MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!
2. Switch to Safe Side
3. Wipe Data
4. Flash the downloaded ROM
5. Reboot
6. Enjoy
So without further words, here is Blackhole Bionic 1.0:

If you are running Bootstrap you can flash any or all of the system versions of these files, and they will save to the /system partition and will be saved permanently into the ROM, and will remain after a data wipe. If you are running Safestrap your space is very limited, so you will not be able to flash everything to system. consider flashing some of these apps to /data instead, or using a market app. Some will not work if flashed to data, so there is no download option in the data section.

Wiping to take screenshots without my extra apps right now. No theming, just a 1% battery mod and new default wallpaper.
Edit: OP updated with Screenshots and Video Review

I have used google maps navigation and had no issues with it. I have not tried any other gps programs. Just be aware that it's not pre-installed and you will have to download it from the market. prepare for that before you're in the car getting pulled over for trying to download it while driving =)
Thanks!!! I just flashed and downloaded it.. Also downloaded google maps. I will test drive for a few days and come back an tell how it went. Thanks for adding on to the awesome Bionic rom list =)
I tried to reboot my device then I got stuck at the motorola logo... Not sure what happened but just thought I would throw that out there..

How did you get past it? Battery pull, or did you have to do something more drastic? You can email me if you need assistance.

this is nitpicky, but was it intentional for the battery % to offcenter-edly overlap the battery icon?
I did a factory reset... Then it did it again then I just sbf to 905

That's really weird. sorry for the inconvenience. None of the beta testers reported anything like that.
I will try again its probably my own fault. I will report back...

Well, I've used up my dropbox transfer limit for the month in just over 28 hours since release. I'm really shocked by the amount of interest and thank all of you guys for your support. If you missed a download while the link was down I apologize, it's back up now on google drive. if any of you can mirror the download please post a link here and i'll put it in the OP. Thanks!

Lol maybe you haven't flashed to many ics roms but any of the cm9 and aokp roms have this battery icon. I personally like it better than the cm7 or cm9 number and skinny bar. And its def better than stock.

I've been on .232 CM9 since I got the phone (with the exception of the first 16 hours while I was learning how to not break it). I've never used the 1% option, mostly because I hate having a cluttered status bar and because I use circle battery widget on my homescreen.
I would rather there not be any numbers there. Since they are there, I think the mod would benefit from taking them off the battery icon altogether, putting both numbers centered over the battery icon, or at least making the battery icon skinnier so that the second number is centered inside of it. The way it is currently makes it look like an unintentional mistake, largely due to how misaligned the second number is over the battery.
I've never done anything with themeing, maybe I'll take this on as a little project for myself.
Hell yeah. Make sure to show your work!
We are always looking for fresh mods in here.
Good luck and make sure to report back!

This sounds exactly like what I've been looking for. How soon could you make the car dock available to flash back in. That's the one piece it's missing for me.
Car dock is actually included in this build because I use it myself and haven't made an add-back flasher for it yet
