To make this a fair thread, could you please post the link where I can sign to show my support for ACTA?
To be honest I have not seen a single place/petition or anything PRO ACTA because to be honest who in the right mind would be for having everything they do in life watched, monitored and recorded / Having someone else decide what they are and are not allowed to see / say. That is the most basic of Human rights removed...
So sorry no link 'FOR' ACTA.
STOP ACTA!
Thanks for the support, Please sign the petition if you haven't already

It's not up to you to decide what other people should believe in then?
Biased thread is biased.
I am not deciding what other people should beleive in or demanding I am simply saying I don't understand why anyone would be 'for' this. There is a difference. I am not saying something like 'Anyone pro ACTA is stupid' It was just simply I couldn't understand it.
And yes I am biased I can openly admit that however I will always listen to counter arguments and you are welcome to give reasons why you are pro ACTA.
Also on the other hand as far as I am aware there are no PRO ACTA Petitions because I have not met a person who would like it so its not just me being biased as to why there is no PRO ACTA links.
I appologise if this upsets you.
999,000 Signatures........ They are rapidly racking up.........
Its over 1 mil
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA App
Yes jumped 999 from the time I saw it to the time I managed to post. Having another massive surge of signatures which is great. Wonder if we can make the 1,500,000 mark....
stop acta !!!!
I think the Judiciary should look into this idea that pay-offs made to politicians by big media should be seen as bribes, and as such impeachments should be handed down.
Is there any evidence of these so called 'bribes' though? You can't say they exist without proof and I haven't seen anything like that.
Almost at 1.2 Million. Can we reach their next target of 2 Million signatures?
Alot happening last night and I was too busy so going to catch up with whats happening now....
Payments made as 'contributions' are of public record, as are funds paid by Lobbyists.

6 REASONS TO BE AGAINST ACTA (Important links at the bottom)
1: SURVEILLANCE: "Currently the internet works a lot like the highway system -- there are rules, and there are police patrolling the information highway looking to make sure those rules are followed. But citizens have the constitutionally guaranteed freedom to travel it without warrantless searches or seizures. Under the new system, it would be as if the highway patrol put a video camera, GPS, and sensor network inside your car tracking your every movement."
2: SECRECY: "The trouble with ACTA is that it was all carried out under the shroud of secrecy and executive orders. The public would never have known about ACTA's wild provisions at all, were it not for a source/sources close to the trade agreement who leaked it to the internet." There is proof that ACTA was first talked about and put in Motion from as early as May 2008 and we are only hearing about it now over 3 years later.
3: CHANGEABLE: "ACTA is a fluid document, in that unlike a law like SOPA or PIPA, it can be changed or altered at any time with little effort outside of convincing the member states to embrace the change." From a video at the bottom of this post you will find there are big secrets about ACTA that are not yet 'part of ACTA' but as soon as ACTA becomes enforced world wide they are free to add in these secret parts which are automatically enforceable and nothing you can do about it!
4: ABOVE THE LAW: ACTA gives the rights of Media Companies to and Copyright holders to view your information, your actions and to disconnect you from the internet without a court order. Once enforced it is untouchable via national laws and override them all.
5: ILLEGAL: "ACTA is Likely an Illegal Document"
""the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.""
6: BRIBERY: "cash payments for favourable rules" Media Companies are paying to have their own rules agreed to.

ACTA is something places around the world have been thinking up in secret for years to help stop free speech. Which we don't want. ACTA basicly gives our internet providers a ability to put someone in jail if they have copyrighted content. It also gives people to freedom to get a drug banned just because they don't like something in it, even if it can help save the lives of milions of people. ACTA is not a good thing.

Hey Everyone!
I Just poped in to let all the torrent users out here know not to use ISOHUNT as they have negotiated a deal with the MPAA and RIAA to submit all of their server data, including all members info and ipaddress's. It is also said that Torrents2Hell will be secretly doing the same both while staying in full operation. ---BEWARE!
Happy Downloading All!
P.S To All Forum Mods... This is not a spam I am just sending out a warning to fellow downloaders. More information can be found about this on Digg but i will not post a link due to forum rules.

Yeah, it's true! You can use my site instead: myBittorrent.com! It's one of the few legitimate sites!
It's foolish to use ANY public torrent trackers/sites... If you don't know of a private one to join, it would be a better idea not to bother if you want to be safe.
This is spam and a deliberate attempt by a disgruntled ex member of our site (DERZ) to slander and defame our name. There is absolutely no truth to the matter regarding Torrents2Hell.com. I challenge the poster to bring forward even the slightest of proof regarding these ridiculous claims.
The op's post was made using a forum bot and has been spread far and wide over the internet in many many forums. I request for the moderators of this forum remove the thread as it tarnishes our name for absolutely no reason. Mods have my email so please feel free to email me if you have any further questions. Members wanting to add this member to there PG list can pm me at Torrents2Hell for there Ip address. We are not the first torrent site to be attacked by this twerp so all webmasters should be wary of this sort of activity.

Bram Cohen always said that he never understood why public torrents were used to distibute pirated warez as all IPs are logged. If you use public torrents, you shouldn't be surprised if you get a knock on the door. It might not happen, but if and when it does, man, we'll all be right behind you I'm sure.
Remember, winners don't use warez.

lol good to know Im glad I stopped using them 3-4 weeks ago!
is this spam or fact?
I smell spam b/c this post has been made at various other boards.
Screw them, without the key my file server is a terrabyte of pure random numbers.
I am looking forward to buying a drive for my laptop with transparent hardware based encryption, it would make no difference who knock on the door.
I hate the RIAA/MPAA and their goons. Whenever I torrent, no mater what it is I am flooded with "safenet" etc trying to slow me down. They do not care if the file has no copyright of theirs they just do it to everyone on that tracker. I am currently getting a Chinese tv series that was free to air and has nothing to do with hollywood but they still bombard me.
Maybe we should write some software to target their connections and get 10 million users to distribute an attack on them the way they do to us.
hah, that would be pretty funny actually..if we spammed the hell out of them. You know something like that would make the news. Either way, torrentspy is now shut down to US customers ...
Torrentspy Acts to Protect Privacy
Sorry, but because you are located in the USA you cannot use the search features of the Torrentspy.com website.Torrentspy's decision to stop accepting US visitors was NOT compelled by any Court but rather an uncertain legal climate in the US regarding user privacy and an apparent tension between US and European Union privacy laws.

I have a great deal of respect for them. Seems they are right about a lot of things over the years. I never got into the trappings of religion, and it seems they don't either, like killing each other in war.

Curious, what kind of issues? Frankly, I'd rather live in a neighborhood full of JW's than a neighborhood full of Muslims. It's just that I've never seen JW's cause any real problems for the world, and in law class, we learned that a huge number of freedoms we take for granted are because of Supreme Court rulings they took to the Supreme Court and won. For instance, say you're pissed at the government, and don't feel like saluting the flag one particular day. That used to get you in trouble, just like in Nazi Germany, but no longer. I think on balance, they've been a plus for society, even though annoying at times. I'd sure rather trust one of them with taking care of my house while I'm on vacation than a lot of my long-time "friends".
Here is an article from Wikipedia about the Supreme Court cases

Mainly theological issues. They have a very control based rule system in their religion which I don't like. Like any religion people at the top get away with practically anything while the lowly JW's are brow beat for just watching the wrong kind of movie.
However I think the whole ,"they are morally better" is true and false. They have the same problems like anyone else. Child molestation and covering it up was a major problem as well as petty theft amongst the dubs. However I agree I would prefer to have some in my neighborhood as they are generally good people.

With no offense intended towards your parents, I hate Jehovah's Witnesses purely because they don't go away. I've had a Jehovah's Witness at my door, as is typical, trying to preach to me about what's right, so I told him to go away and shut the door. Half an hour later he was still there, ringing my doorbell non stop. If you believe in something that's fine, but keep it to yourself. These words not intended to "you" in particular of course, but the day I start telling people how to live their lives and what to believe in is the day I start changing my ways for those people who tell me the same. Whether you're Muslim, Jewish, Christian, or anything in between, live your life and let other people live theirs.
Easy way to stop the JW's at your door:
1.Notify them that you do not want them ever coming back or you will call the police.
2.Tell them to write down your address and what you said on the paper they carry around marking houses.
3.Tell them you are going to call the Kingdom Hall and speak to an elder and inform them to be put on the "do not call" list. Yes many Kingdom Halls actually have these.
Problem solved!
One thing you can count on is that dubs will do everything in their power to either not go to court or to not look bad in the press.
Heheh, put on the Kingdom Hall's do not call list, that's awesome... I'd feel like I was playing World of Warcraft, next I'll notify them that I'm going to report to their guild leader that I saw them talking to a night elf mohawk from another guild. For those that missed the reference,

Adobe Vs. Apple War Generates Rage, Facebook Group
It was inevitable. Adobe has an unofficial Facebook fan club: “I’m With Adobe,” an allusion to the viral “I’m With Coco” campaign for jilted ex-Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien. As of Saturday afternoon, the group (started by John Addis, a Web & Media Director at Rizzi Designs) has attracted more than 1,200 members in less than three days.
The group’s manifesto is:
The recent war between Adobe and Apple reached a breaking point on April 8, 2010, when Steve Jobs not only recommitted to never allowing Flash to run on the iPhone or iPad, but even banning Adobe’s new Flash-to-iPhone C compiler which was to go on sale Saturday, April 10.
There is no longer any debate as to who the “bad guy” is in this story — Apple has proven themselves to be anti-competition, anti-developer, and anti-consumer.
I stand with Adobe.
While you would expect a club like this to attract rabid Adobe supporters (and there is a lot of that), several members expressed their longstanding support for Adobe and Apple and the difficulty of reconciling their frustration with the new SDK agreement and their fierce loyalty to Apple. As one Facebook user put it :
How did we get to this point? The tension between Apple and Adobe has been simmering for quite a while, but the clear breaking point (as we all know) was the release of the new SDK agreement which essentially blocks Flash developers from the iPhone.
I tried to put together an (incomplete) collection of Adobe employee reactions— from the iPad release to Adobe’s “Viva La Resistance.” In my last post, “Adobe: Go Screw Yourself Apple,” some commenters pointed out that the title was unfair because it was the words of Adobe’s Platform Evangelist Lee Brimelow and not Adobe’s official position. True, Adobe CTO’s carefully worded (sadly, less colorful) blog was the “official” response, however, Brimelow’s post and comments by several of his Flash colleagues forms an interesting constellation that outlines a deep anger. Adobe is furious. Further, as we previously noted, Adobe did look at Brimelow’s blog and let him run with it anyway— only pushing him to extract one line and add a disclaimer (the disclaimer was added roughly one hour after he sent a Twitter link to his post).
First, before we look at the iPhone OS 4.0 fallout, let’s skip to somewhat happier times (to last weekend) when Adobe’s employees lined up at the Apple store to eagerly purchase Steve Jobs’ latest offering. Arno Gourdol, a member of the Adobe Air team, documents their morning: “After queuing for an hour at the flagship Apple Store in SF this morning, we finally got our hands on a stack of magical devices. We’ve spent the rest of the day having fun getting the first Adobe AIR apps running on the iPad….We have also been working on bringing up the first “HD” apps that take advantage of the gorgeous screen of the iPad.”

Go Adobe and Smash them apples!
Not really sure where I stand here. On one hand I'm kinda pissed at Apple, but on the other I can understand them not wanting developers to be lazy by producing poorly ported apps.
I dunno, in all honesty I don't really care. This was inevitable, and really Adobe can't do ****e about it.
Are you serious ? We all know that your personal vendetta against Apple is way over the top and you need help. But are you seriously sitting here in a mobile phone forum comparing Apple computer to Nazi Germany ? Comparing a company that has sold 50 million iPhones to " willing " consumers that voluntarily spent their hard earned money on what they think is a great product , to a regime that rounded up 6 million jewish people and exterminated them ?
Are you trying to offend as many people world wide as you can ?

the London riots, BlackBerry offered all blackberry user's GPS logs to the police, so that they could track who was near the riots, so they could turn them over to the police. what a HUGE invasion of privacy, selling out its loyal customers like that..
im sure some of you will say its for a greater good, bull****, first of all this information will only tell you who was near the riot, not who was involved, so lots of innocents will be prosecuted. secondly, theres never a reason good enough that anyone should willingly give up their privacy to the government.
fortunately for people who want to protect their rights, TeaMp0isoN hacked BlackBerry's website, telling them if they do sellout users information to the police, BlackBerry will release all BlackBerry's higher up's information to the public. a very fair deal, and justice done by TeaMp0isoN. TeaMp0isoN also pointed out, the police cant even help themselves right now, so BlackBerry should not look to the police to protect them if they choose to sell out their users.
what are your guys thoughts on this?

good thing too
also note that facebook and twitter did as well
If you think they will use gps location to prosecute...you are a fool. It will be used for gathering witnesses and information. As far as rights go, it is not a violation of rights. Your rights stop where anothers begin. So you do not have the right to say or do whatever you want if it effects someone elses rights. The police should shoot the rioters on site.
Handing over the gps position is kind of silly unless they are only using it for predictive measures to see where a lot of them are gathered. But even then unless it is cross referenced with messages that suggest a target near the gps position its only an invasion of privacy.
If anything, what bb should have done was suspend the bbm service in the uk area to break the organization of the riots. That should give the police the edge they may need. Any service lost could be either refunded in money or some sort of compensation.
I understand the youth in the uk are fed up with in justice but this method kinda only hurts them in the future. That being said how else do you get the politicians attention for positive change? A lot kf riots are happening all over the place ever since the economic down turn in the states. The states still has somd way to fall so we should be expecting more riots as the riots continue to move to the west.

WatchAnonymous: Internet Censorship - EMERGENCY ACTION REQUIRED
THIS IS AN IMMEDIATE CALL TO ACTION! There are two new immediate threats to internet freedom: Obama's Cyber-Security Executive Order and the TPPA. We must mobilize resistance immediately.
Transcript:
Greetings Citizens of the United States and the World.
Emergency Action Required.
We have been valiant thus far in protecting our internet. We stopped both SOPA and CISPA. Then they pushed for the international treaty, ACTA, and the entire world pushed back. But we're not finished yet. There are two more threats that we must unite together again to defeat.
The first is a CISPA like executive order that the White House is considering. In order to pass these bills that Congress has rejected, the Obama administration has taken to the use of Executive Orders so that they may bypass Congress entirely. This is incredibly concerning as the process is very complex for Congress to overturn laws passed this way. The Supreme Court may also declare it unconstitutional, but such incidents are very rare. With enough opposition, we can stop this before it even gets off the ground.
The second, and more immediate threat, is another international treaty. Like ACTA, this treaty has been negotiated in secret. The Trans-Pacific Partnership is so secret that not even the Congressional Committee in charge of such treaties can even see the bill. It is however, viewable by six hundred corporate representatives. All we know is what has been leaked thus far, and it reaches well beyond the scope of simply censoring the internet. It's yet another bill to grant more power to multinational corporations. If this treaty is ratified, the only way it can be altered is through the agreement of every country involved.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation has tried to rally the troops: "Don't Let TPP Become the Next ACTA: Contact Your Lawmakers and Demand Transparency!"
...the TPP is being negotiated in secret, and on a fast timetable. We don't know what's in the TPP IP chapter, and that's what worries us. Entertainment industry executives who are members of the Industry Trade Advisory Committee will likely get to see the agreement drafts -- again -- but the rest of us will be kept in the dark unless we speak up now.
And they are not alone in attempting to warn everyone. The Huffington Post, Guardian, ACLU, Examiner, Alternet, Current, Techdirt, DailyKos, Truthout, and many more have all reported on this atrocity. Even members of Congress have introduced legislation due the extreme secrecy of this treaty.
This is an immediate call to action.
Contact your members of Congress, educate your friends and family, create art, videos, and stage protests. Do everything you can to help raise awareness as they plan to push this through before the next election. We have very little time to stop this. Many around the world and a few in the States have been trying to raise awareness. Let us unite once again to protect the very few freedoms we have left!

I've always wished the new Anon messages would just simultaneously appear on ALL TVs/monitors, interrupting everything going on and causing people to just stop what they are doing and watch. Like what happens in movies, usually with the antagonist.

Ya, me too!! That would be awesome!! But on the other hand, i think those people, who don't know who Anons are and what they are fighting against and for, will just think of them as some hacker who hacked into the TV stations and well some others will be scared and few others will just LOL.. And If that really happens, we will be very pleased!!:fingers-crossed:
So basically there's 2 things that might happen, that you know nothing about, but there's stuff that you suggest may probably happen.
Sigh. I feel like performing a bit of censorship of my own right now, but I'll restrain myself.
