Which ROM is better?
I don't know for sure, but it seems that samuaz's is texasice's build plus the CM goodies. So I would say samuaz's has more features.

Ok. Hey, aren't you that Cyanogenmod moderator?
That'd be me
why ask--try them both--
Am using texasice's ROM since like day 1 and loving it. Its my daily driver
I tried thrice to use texacise ROM [Alpha 8, ev-1, and latest p3]. There are huge improvements and p3 is quite close to be used as daily rom. However, still there are issues with network dropping off , random soft reboots and many Apps FCing.
Nexy has good future with both these ROMs progressing so fast [it is less than 50 days since google released the code].
The samuaz ROM, looking at the feedback, I'll give it a try for couple of days next week.
Yes I do notice those soft reboots with p3. But no FCs and no network drops. However the progress for each build looks quite promising.
Would be nice if Samuaz too release a mini skirt version for stock Hboot
Yet another reason not to stay on stock Hboot: Camera is already working (not completely) on N1.
Also msm kernel 3.0 is ready. Just a few days before we get ICS beta
Where can we get the msm 3.0 kernel?

Where? From a kernel dev, of course.
When? When it's ready. Further questions will not aid in getting it faster.
I heard the kernel dev over at the Desire forums is going to upload his msm-3.0 sources to guthub and will make it work on the HD2 and Nexus One, of course after it works on the Desire itself.
Just wait patiently and it will be here sooner or later.

That's what I figured, but it seemed to be implied, by indiangeek, that one was already available.
I just upgraded from CM 7 to Texas ICS p4. The market didn't work (my apps didn't auto-sync and re-download - couldn't get it working after an hour of trying), the animations were a little jerky, camera didn't work, USB mass storage didn't work, CM mods weren't there. In it's current form, it could use a little polishing.
I tried Samuaz's MeDroid ICS 4.1 and it works way better. No market issues. Animations are much more fluid, camera works (panorama and video are broken). Gallery doesn't pull in picasa web albums (that'll be fixed today in 4.2). Also, you get CM features, which aren't present in TICS. I got a few force closes, but I think that was due to not rebooting after restoring from mybackup root, as I haven't had the FCs in a while. Oh, and USB mass storage is working, so I can restore apps and data from my backups. Sometimes the USB icon shows up or the app starts up (like at startup) when nothing is plugged in. Minor issue, though.
Upgrade method (some of these flash files aren't signed, so I needed to disable signature verification before they'd flash):
Upgrade bootloader (HBOOT) to 0.35.0017
Flash latest radio (5.12.00.08) - CHECK THE MD5 BEFORE FLASHING
Install Blackrose using the automatic method (It will not work without the HBOOT above)
Install custom blackrose from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366897 - this increases the space available for ICS to install
Use recovery to do a full wipe three times (people had issues only wiping once)
Mount SD card via recovery and deleted/backed up everything.
Flash Evervolv-Perdo-2.1.0p4-passion.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366897
(Realize a bunch of things weren't working)
Use recovery to do a full wipe three times (people had issues only wiping once)
Flash MeDroid 4.1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21093710&postcount=188
To do yet:
Upgrade as soon as 4.2 comes out to fix gallery - I'll probably just use adb to replace the current gallery app - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21097768&postcount=191
Replace MeDroid's boot animation with this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429308
Am I the only one to be a little knee-shaking when it comes to flashing radios? I mean, ****ing up the system or boot seems easily restorable, but flashing a corrupted or unsigned radio may turn your device into a fully usable paperweight?
That's kinda the reason I've stayed with the 5.08.00.04 or what it's called. I mean, it works for me and hasn't bugged in any way, so why upgrade it?
I agree it's scary, but I saw so many people using the same file without issues, I was alright with it. Radios are the only file I check md5 on for this reason.
I think you're ok if fastbooting the img and like loki980 said, checking md5
I've done it a few times with no issues

In all my time in the CyanogenMod forum (which is probably waaay too much time), it seems that the 5.08 is the best supported radio with the N1. I have never seen issues fixed from going from the 5.08 to the 5.12, but I have seen quite a few fixed doing the reverse. A lot of people get great results with 5.12, but it seems that more have better luck with 5.08.
Plus, I am sure that Google did a lot of testing before they sent out the Gingerbread update, and I'd bet there is a reason they included the 5.08 instead of the 5.12.
Hello! My apologies if these questions have already been covered, but I'm having a hard time figuring things out:
1) Anyone have opinions on what's the best ICS Rom that supports the S-pen fully? (Or if there even are any that support it?) I'm an artist that does sketching on the Note and want to make sure the pen works properly.
2) Will there be any problems in updating to the full Note ICS rom when it's released if you're on one of the current builds?
3) I'm a medium-level rom flasher that's a little nervous about bricking my phone when doing one of the ICS installs. I probably am asking a stupid question (well, I am ), but in people's opinions, how safe is it to install? Should I wait for a full build? I'm getting annoyed by my poor battery life in Gingerbread that for the life of me I cannot figure out. ><
Thanks!!

1) Midnote 3
2) No
3) Absolutly safe, you even don't need computer to flash Midnote 3
Hmmm... The directions of installing Midnote seem a little intimidating! I'm going to have to read them a few times to make sure I know what's going on.

It just seems difficult. It's not so hard. But don't flash 3.1 over 3.0, because when I did that I got some FC's. So I back to 3.0... At 3.0 is everything perfect, no problems and bugs at all.

Try clearing the cache and data of google play store.
Tried that but unfortunately it didn't work. I tried to follow the instructions of someone in the main Midnote thread, but now the store's gone from my app list and no matter how many times I flash the gapps 7.1 zip, it won't come back.

In terms of cameras, just search for one on the Play store. There should be thousands. However, can you please link to the ROM you used? AFAIK none of the current ICS ROMs have this issue, so you might have an outdated ROM. I also don't know whether Dorimanx ever released a full HWA kernel compatible with ICS, so please check that you've got the right one installed.

Well, i thought i found the perfect one, lol, thanks for the information,
And which ICS Rom do you suggesst? Ive tried nexusHD i didnt like it because its internal storage was very low, i think its just on my phone so,
Is nexusHD2 the best ICS for HD2 out there?
i think i will have to look out for some new roms..
I personally use NexusHD2, but I'm going to change soon to a JB ROM (hopefully). For internal storage you can just flash an A2SD script or install Link2SD. However, I would encourage you to try ROMs yourself and find the best one for you. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another person.
JB Rom

Exactly the ROM I was considering flashing once I get the time
Smooth
Amazing rom, Aroma installer, i can choose if u want odex or another ( i forgot ) ive choosen,
It was written that the boot will take a while, and it will reboot 1 time automaticly, the boot time wasnt that long, i expected a longer time, and it did reboot 1 time,
I think that rom is leading the JB roms out for mHD2 yet....
While discussing this custom rom in other roms' threads, I came across one for the MB886 with CN localization.
I was able to download it and flashed. But before doing so, looked at the archive and noticed it had a /data directory with suspicious apps in it. So I wouldn't really recommend anyone actually flashing it for use until someone with knowledge took a look at it.
Interestingly enough, it does flash and seems to be working, I cleared data/wiped before booting it.. Take note that it's is not officially supported by slimkat nor is it available on their site.
EDIT: We have a working rom now thanks to Technofreak, check it out here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49622265

Ok to my Fellow forum friend @clockcycle and others wanting this ROM I have made an Modified version out of this Chinese Rom which works 100% without any lag and is working great. I will make a thread for this one and there is also and right now is the one I use as it looks lots as Validus without much Clowns as @skeevydude like it. lol
Seen very solid to me and is my and will be my daily drive (For now) lol
Also there is one I compile together but since time limits I havent been able to test it. This one should have more options and few then other fixes to options that came after my Modified version
Will explain more at the Developers thread

Yea I was really surprised to how lite "SLIM" the CN version of the rom was. But didn't trust to install gapps, login or install any apps. I also wiped /data after first flash before the boot. Downloading your version right now.
I bought new Oneplus 3T , could you please explain little bit about the ROMs and all the root stuff.
I had Lg g5 and it seems to be very different.
Enjoy the beauty
The following are my recommendations:
Root - Magisk
Recovery - I prefer blu_spark's TWRP
ROM- If you absolutely must have Oreo, I think Validus 8.0 is the best atm. If you're fine with nougat for now (like me) then paranoid Android works well. Stock OOS is great too, if you want to keep it.
You should be able to figure out how to install the roms and root from the instructions given in the OP of each thread.
Also, I recommend installing the Google Camera app with the slow motion fix for better shots.

This questions is really too vague to give a proper response. You want us to explain what exactly about ROMs and "root stuff"? It doesn't indicate to us whether you have modified phones before (custom ROM, and/or root), or what your level of knowledge is. You also don't state exactly what your goal or desire is. Do you want to flash a custom ROM? Do you want to root? Do you want both?
We can start guessing, and providing random info and answers. But it's probably not the best way to go about things. A lot of the info is already posted if you read and search. Everything you want to know has been asked and answered before, probably dozens of time. XDA has always been a wealth of information, for those willing to take the time to look for it.
Every phone has it's own nuances regarding mods like custom ROMs and root. Even different phones from the same manufacturer. Good advice for anyone, is to take at least an hour or so (even if you are experienced with mods - more if you are not) doing some reading of the existing resources, guides, etc. before you try to do anything with the phone. This will give you the best info on the proper way to mod this particular phone, with the most up-to-date methods, etc. Then, if you have specific questions or concerns, come on here and ask. In fact, I always do that research before I even buy the phone. It's part of the fun of a new phone, in my opinion.
I don't personally know anything about the G5. But the 3T is fairly easy to unlock the bootloader (mandatory in order to flash custom recovery, which is needed to flash ROMs and/or root), flash TWRP, then flash custom ROMs and/or root. The following guide is a pretty decent one: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...wrp-root-nandroid-efs-backup-and-more.475142/
Just keep in mind that some of the info (like OOS version numbers, etc.) are not completely current. And you should typically use the latest versions TWRP and SuperSU/Magisk. But the general method in the guide is still relevant.
Whether you root by SuperSU or Magisk is a personal choice. Read up on the differences, and make your decision. SuperSU is what most folks already know. But Magisk has some really cool benefits and features over SuperSU. I've personally been preferring Magisk lately. But it's by no means the only choice, or best choice for everyone.
Also, highly recommend you know how to return to stock or recover, if anything goes wrong (good advice before trying to mod any Android device). One way is using a full update zip: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/rom-oxygenos-3-5-4-mm-ota-update-t3519074
And as typical, it's highly recommended to make a TWRP backup of your stock ROM, once TWRP is installed, and before you make any mods like custom ROM or root. Which will give you another way to revert to the stock ROM, if you ever have the need.
It's obvious that the OP never dealt in the past with Root etc.
So, the first thing I would advise is start with a good understanding of what Rooting is offering in general, which has nothing to do specifically with 3T.
All devices can be rooted, so the real question is if the OP didn't care to have it in the past, what changed now?

GPS problem seems mostly on OOS 4.1.7 and 4.5.0 (4.5.1 also, it seems). And not for everyone. At some locations, the AGPS data is outdated, and leading to long waits for the GPS to achieve a lock. So depending on your location, or if your OOS version is not updated, you might not see an issue. Consider yourself lucky, and don't go looking for a problem, if it doesn't exist!
Not sure of the specific camera problem you are referring to. Some folks have complained about blurry photos in low light, with moving subjects. If that is what you are talking about, again if you don't have an issue, don't worry about it. It's not really a "bug" in my opinion. It's in line with the performance of other smartphones. Just not as good at focus (again, specifically in low light with moving subjects) as some other phones, particularly the expensive flagships like Galaxy S8 or iPhone. But you can't expect the 3T to meet all the same technical capabilities of phones that cost about double! Also, the focus in these conditions seems a bit better on the more recent OOS updates. So again, depending on what version you are on, as well as the conditions you are taking photos, and what your expectations are; the camera may not be an issue.

I agree, but with one exception. I'm using rrZenity, and i find it extremely stable on my 3t. Even more so than the official. And possibly even more so than the beautiful Sultanized rr's latest build by DroidFreak32. Plus it comes with fully functional gcam(even slowmo with all settings working perfect), adaway, wakeblock, etc. And I'm using the franco los kernel, but the built-in kernel is really good too. I'm honestly waiting for a stable RR Oreo, or oos, but thks works superbly for now. And a stable Magisk for Oreo. Know what TWRP is, a good understanding of how to use it, and what a Nandroid is. I'm no pro, but I hardbricked my phone, as a noob, and it'll scare the sht out of you. There are two brick lifesavers that you must have a pc or laptop to use, and I can provide you links via request.

I used zenity. Then droidfreak32 put out build that was better, smoother, less issues. Latest builds, I found right the opposite. Zenity 10-01 running so smoothly, Sultanized had a couple of issues for me even though it's newer.
