Hi. When I long press the Bluetooth headset button the Samsung voice talk is always activated instead of my desired voice dial application. Is there and way to disable Samsung voice talk permanently without rooting my phone?
Same here, could anyone help?

[Q] What is the "accessibility" option for under Settings ~ Accessibility?
Is this an internal device option for rooted phones? It is greyed out and says that an accessibility app needs to be downloaded to be used.
Does anyone know? Sorry if this is a dumb question but i am still a bit of an Android noob...

Its for things like text to speech and to help people with vision problems. You need to dowbload the addons from market.

My device runs on asian DXJG4 and then officially updated to DXJPA and now DXJPE. I have seen some devices having a microphone button for voice input on samsung keyboard. Mine does not. Android keyboard is also not available as an option.
What's the exact issue that forbids me to use voice input? I can only use the voice recognition on google search bar, that's it.

Sounds like you're looking for Vlingo, its free in the market but don't forget to switch to that keyboard once you've installed it
I cannot just get the voice input integrated into samsung keyboard?

I am rooted and using Cubed's ROM. The stock voice dialer has a hard time with my voice. Google's voice search seems to no issues with it. Can I replace the stock with Google's?

Not really, I have that already. I meant via bluetooth. My earpiece supports voice dialing and the stock app doesn't really work for me.

blutooth launch lets you do this download install, then open scroll to voice search and select the recognition box. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836243
I want to be able to use my Tab as a replacement for my cell phone. The stock rom disables the mic for headsets.
I am looking for a rom that will allow you to make phone calls over 3g! No need for actual phone calls just want to be able to use Skype of some sort of SIP provider.
Looks like Overcome and Cyanogen do not work for Verizon on the 7" Tab.
Hey you might check out the what developer oldmacnut is doing the rom is called "better then life" something like that. I will find link

What your describing is what I do with my tab.
I'm using oldmacnut's "better than life" rom
It's not the rom but a few apps I use to send and receive calls over 3G and WiFi
Sipdroid - use it to make and receive calls using my google voice account (super easy setup)
Go launcher ex and Go contacts - I just happend to like go launcher on my tab and added go contacts because they work well together. Go contacts functions like a dialer and contacts replacement, plus it will route calls through sipdroid without issue.
The combination works pretty well for me give me a solid practical phone solution.

I can confirm skype working very well on OMC's Confidence and Paranoia. I do not know if headset mics are working with it or not, but usually isn't a problem 'cause I just use the mic on the tab.

I just picked up an era and the only thing I don't like about it is the long press of the function button brings up voice dial, but the native program it opens is svoice. At first I thought that would be ideal, but it take literally 5 seconds before I can speak a name. I would much rather have the function button open gnow.
How do I change this?

I have both the Jawbone Era and Big Jambox. Unfortunately, I never set up any voice dialing. Maybe it's something you can change if you connect the Era to the PC and open it up in MyTalk.
I know if you delete s voice then Google voice search comes up instead, does work better than s voice, just no voice texting feature

Ok now I have a new issue. The era will connect to phone, then to media, then instantly disconnects from media. I was playing music all day without issue, but now I can't get it to connect to media.
And no, I don't have cpu access currently so I can't connect it and check the my talk settings.
Any ideas?

I tried this but when I hit the push to talk button it just freezes and then shuts down?

I found an app called bluetooth launch from the play store (free) that allows me to assign any function I want to the smart button. I was able to assign google voice search but it's still clumsy. I think I'm gonna give svoice another shot, but the issue I have is that whenever I hit the button it takes like 7 seconds before it listens for my command.
