Removing contacts from bottom antenna door? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am planning on buying the bottom door for my nexus one from ebay since mine's a little beat up, but I want to know if it's possible to remove the contacts from the door that I own as a lot of the ebay auctions for the door appear to not have any contacts in place.
Otherwise, can anyone recommend me a place to buy one with the contacts?
Lastly, does anyone know if the chip for GPS or AGPS is located on the flex cable? (the piece which has the power button, headphone jack, and the black piece with square gold contacts running down in two lines) I just replaced mine and I don't know if the GPS connection got worse or not, but I am unable to get a lock on my phone.

I think the cover just had holes in it, and the contacts poke through from the inside. Remove the cover, and the contacts will still be on your phone...

Not the case on my phone, the contacts on the cover touch contacts on the motherboard but they aren't physically attached. They are physically attached to the cover, and I cant think of an easy or non destructive way to remove them. Thanks for replying though

"Look on the back of your LCD. There is a curved track that guides the screen when open. If look closely (upwards and inside the side toward the camera), you will see two gold contacts that are about an inch apart. There are corresponding contacts on the base of the phone that meet these two contacts when you slide your screen. Make sure nothing is lodged on either of these contacts. Perhaps you can take a can of compressed air and blow off anything that is shorting these contacts and tricking the OS into thinking you should be in landscape."
in the photos below the red circles show the contacts i know about and where i gues they are ment to make contact with.
do any of you know where the two other contacts are? or anything else that i might not be thinking of?
also theres a black pad circled in blue. mine fell off during disassembly but i assumed i didnt need it? could that be it?
cheers everyone
I have never taken my G1 that far apart, so my help is only speculative. I was referring to two other contacts, not the two you pointed out. Those cannot be the ones responsible for switching the screen, because the screen only changes after the lcd has been moved about an inch. If those were responsible, the screen orientation would change as soon as you barely moved it.
There are two other contacts on the back of the LCD, not the body. It appears the post that guides the sliding mechanism makes contact with these contacts at precisely the moment the screen changes.
Your pictures are from the main body side....look on the back of the LCD.
As I said before, something is changing your orientation after a reboot (since it should reboot into portrait). This indicates that the sensors are working somehow, and getting a bad signal that makes the screen orientation change. Check for loose or wiggly wires to these connections in the picture (or anything that could cause a short).
opened again and yet still no luck. what your pointing at is a bit. on the other side its a gasket. like a sheet of sticky stuff to keep extra wires in place. my heads fried so i may give in and just pay to get it repaired
Sorry...
It certainly doesn't look like a bit. It looks like a copper mesh contact. And when the post touches this area, is when the screen re-orients. Please look again...I. am certain the contacts you pointed out are not the ones that flip the screen...you can move the screen a good inch before it rotates. If the contacts you show were responsible, the screen would flip as soon as it was moved.
There is a pdf showing dissassembly and reassembly if that helps you...http://mikechannon.net/PDF Manuals/HTC Dream SM (A04).pdf

Battery Cover lose

Hi guys
for a couple of days now my battery cover doesnt properly fix anymore. You know how when u put it back on you have the two golden hooks at the bottom of the battery place on the x1 - it seems that the left one of these two hooks doesnt hold anymore cause it is at that spot that the cover is lose and consequently keeps falling off all the time.
hope this was somehow clear
any idea how to fix this?
I had this issue with the first 2 X1's I purchased. If you cannot get a replacement just simply try squeezing together at the two clip points so that they grip the phone tighter when applied. Alot of people have had this issue and there have been alot of threads created about this, if this is no help then hit up the search bar.
i just slightly bent the metal side flaps inwards lightly to make the little flat bits press into thier sockets better. the gold things are contacts. i'm guessing to detect if the cover is removed or to make the backplate act as a grounded shield. but non the less they don't do anything for holding the backplate in place it's all down to those 2 little flat bits that grab spots on the side plastics

Replacement screws?

I bought a used HD2 which is missing screws. The screen is popping off slightly from the phone body in several locations. Every time I press on it it pops back into place and then pops back out when I let go.
I took off the battery cover and at least 2 screws are missing. One in the top right hand corner and one in the lower left hand corner. Of the two screws still there, one is a regular philips head and the other is a security hex (is this normal?) The seller said they had taken it to a cellular repair place to fix a problem with the phone getting stuck at the unlock screen. I believe they misplaced the screws.
Is there anywhere I can buy a replacement set? Will I have to disassemble the phone further to fix the screen popping out?
Thanks!
UPDATE: After watching a video of HD2 assembly which I cannot link to because I a "new user" I believe the P/N of the screws I need is 72H03652-XXM.
No one knows? I can't believe the screws are unique to the HD2.

[Q] How do you remove the Antenna Cable in the Xperia Z

I've searched for a long while for help with this but I'm giving in now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/help/how-to-transfer-antennas-one-xperia-z-to-t2807997
This thread explains the problem I'm having but I couldn't follow the solution like the other guy could. In short how do I remove and then refit the antenna cable from my old phone case to the new one? I've managed to remove the black plastic cover over it but it still won't budge and in trying to make it budge I managed to pull of the gold connector from the wire.
Which actually brings me onto two more quick questions. I'm assuming the cable will still be good if I just put the gold connector back on the end? But how would you suggest I do so? Also in taking apart my phone I put a few wholes in the foil on the bottom of the battery whilst trying to leverage it out, is the battery still safe to use? It also has a few scratches/light dents on the side from the same process.

Wireless charging sticker question.

I have a wireless charging sticker and I know I have to take the old sticker off my back cover. My question is, if I mess up putting my new sticker on does my phone lose any functionality?
It's pretty much impossible to really screw it up. Align the contacts and adjust the sticker until it works reliably. You may need to shim the contacts with a little tape but the newer stickers are supposedly better and don't need it. If you did actually mess it up, you'd lose the NFC that was on the stock sticker.
c c
to control your new sticker, remove the cover and tape the new Sticker on your phone, check the contacts and test wireless charging and nfc tags reading.
