[Q] Onecosmic's ICS RC3.1 bugs/bugd report - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After a 3hour upgradathon I got my Galaxy S from 2.2.1 to 4.0.3 Onecosmics ICS. I am using it for less than a week and I can say it is pretty smooth but there are still bugs which I am not sure if there is a dedicated thread to report or check if they are known issues. To add to that I dont have 10 posts so i cant post in the development section.
I have checked Onecosmics Troubleshooting.

The OneCosmic thread isn't so great at listing the known issues like the teamhacksung build.
The best source is the google code page for known issues and workarounds.
Searching the thread for the issue before posting is a must, usually the bug and workaround have been posted 10 times already.

Wow. It is interested, make upgrade over more version of FW. U need upgrade first version to 2.3.5 (2.3.6) XXJVT, XXJVU or XWJVZ, rooted it and after that is possible make 4.0.3...
Before and after all steps you need make wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache in CWM recovery mode.

Thanks rax22,
@Mustafa888
I have already installed ICS on my device.

I know. More problems (solved or unrecorded) created when you upgrade from 2.2.1 to 4.0.3 directly. System needs to recover with stock ROM, in this case one of 2.3.6 versions.
I have Team ICSSGS (incidentally pulled RC4) and I have no problems, despite the fact, that more users with this RC have some problems.

[Q] Problem Galaxy S i9000

Hi all!
I have a problem with my Galaxy S i9000. Audio recording isn't working in video camera, recorder and third part apps but i can do a call normally! the problem is born when i changed the stock rom (Froyo) with another one (custom) and is still not working with all roms except MIUI or cyanogenmod 7.1! but i want to install a ICS Rom. what can i do for solving this problem?
thanks
P.s. now i installed CM9 and i want to keep it!
P.p.s. i'm sorry if I have done some grammatical errors!
Hi, is the bug you described still the same now that you are using CM9? And which version of Cm9 are you using?build 17 now replaced by nightly builds , if you are on the latest nightly you should post a bug report (attaching relevant info as asked for in opening post) in the developer post.

as you said you directly come from froyo to ics..............ffirst you have to flash gingerbread version XXJVU...............then go to ics…...……...this is the right way to flash ics rom.......by doing this your problem will be short out.
i'm sorry, maybe i'm not explained so well.
I changed Froyo with a stock Gingerbread and i had problems with recording...after this i flashed another custom gingerbread rom and i had the same problem...so i tried a MIUI rom! with this ROM everything is working fine (the same with CM7) but now i installed CM9 Nightly (ICS) and the problem is came back... it's a strange problem...
p.s. when i flash a rom i ALWAYS do a full wipe.

[Q] Any good JB rom for Telstra (N7000B) Galaxy note please

I have a Galaxy Note from Telstra Australia. This is a N7000B (not just N7000). I've searched all the treads and couldn't find a Jelly Bean ROM that can be used, nor any mention of people successfully flashed an N7000 ROM to this Telstra phone. Please help, I'm sure there is other users with same question. Thanks all.
PS: hope this is the right place to post this in this forum.
I'm using a N7000B from Telstra too. I've tried Ultimate ROM, XXLSA/C Leaks, Paranoid Android and a few others and all have worked fine.
Thanks for that. Did it change to N7000 then. Did you use CWM or Odin.
Thanks again for reply. Sorry for all the questions new to Android

I've got the same phone, N7000b from Telstra. Currently running Paranoid Android 2.57.2 by Utacka and generally any N7000 non-b rom will install and run fine, though I have had some issues as the install ages. Usually a full wipe fixes any of these issues.
If you have the stock rom still installed, I'd be quite keen to get a copy off you. Is it ICS or still on GB?
I started off by following the instructions on this thread to get root. I had to downgrade the firmware using Odin, then root it as described in post #3 of that thread.
I've described the steps before - more info here
Thanks guys for your response and help. It gave me confidence and now I'm on PhilZ 3.99 kernel and Ultimate rom v 5.1. Works smoothly with no boot loop issues. might be the PhilZ 3.99 that solved it.
I found this stock rom for our Telstra N7000B and tested the md5 with odin. Worked great and reverted back to stock.

I've tried flashing abysskernel4.2 and carbonROM but it failed. How did you flash Paranoid Android?

[Q] Help, my i9001 auto shutdown after flash the rom"Acro CM9-RC4"

some times it auto shutdown ,it happens 2 times today, plz help me ,what the reason, my base band version is 2.3.4
Please check the development thread, this is a known issue.
Strangely, reverting to RC2 doesn't fix it any more for me, but a clean install of RC2 would probably do the trick. Personally I don't want to do that because of the hassle of reinstalling everything, but if you've only just installed RC4, you should consider it.
Have you tried changing your previous Stock ROM to Arco's current baseband.
Anyway by now I think there is a RC5 version available with a minor bug fixes.

[Q] [ROM][4.2.2] Slim Bean - I9000 [Build v1.0]

Hello all.
First I want to thank the developers for this fast & beautiful ROM.
And here is my question since I cant post it in the original thread for this rom, If any1 else beside me that upgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 noticed major lags when scrolling between app pages in app drawer and overall lesser responsiveness from the phone.
I have installed semaphore kernel 2.9.12s.
my installation procedure to install 4.2.2 was:
had installed 4.2.1 official version + semaphore 2.9.12s
went to recovery -> full data wipe/factory reset, wiped dalvik cache, basically wiped anything with cache in its name, and manual format of /system
and then installed 4.2.2 build 1.1
when it booted up, the whole time i was using it the overall responsiveness was noticably slower than the 4.2.1 version to which i reverted previously and now using it.
was my install procedure faulty, are there still some bugs in the new rom, or is something wrong with my phone?

No, there was nothing wrong you did. 4.2.2 is not a final release as yet, it's a build 1 release, so that's the main reason for this Enjoy
you souldnt get lag because i updated from 4.2.1 slim to 4.2.2 without any wipes and got no problams but yeah it is build 1....

CWM stopped working [ROM][GT-N7000][4.3] CyanogenMod 10.2 experimental builds

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the great rom. I really appreciate it.
After flahing my second version (August 1)including full wipe I somehow managed to destroy cwm. I can still boot the OS as well as download mode but instead of CWM there is just a black screen. I also tried to flash a New CWM with rommanager and twrp with goomanager. It didn'change anything.
What can I do to get a working recovery if possible without full wipe again (too much work)? This way I'm unable to flash anything.

No need to open a thread for a already known problem that is discussed in the 10.2 thread in General.
If you install a very early experimental build you could at least read in the related thread. Or consider installing a Stock Rom.
And as other members you have to install a new Rom with PC Odin to eliminate the problem. I made this already two times - and now use an older 10.2-kernel as workaround.
But please use the thread in General for further postings related to CM10.2, ok?
I'm sorry I was coming from CM 10, CM 10.1 and for a year or so I was no longer forced to care about such problems for quite a while. So I couldn't find the thread you linked. Xplowild closed his thread and I was a bit lost with so many threads.
Thanks for your help!
regards Martin
