[Q] Any good JB rom for Telstra (N7000B) Galaxy note please - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Galaxy Note from Telstra Australia. This is a N7000B (not just N7000). I've searched all the treads and couldn't find a Jelly Bean ROM that can be used, nor any mention of people successfully flashed an N7000 ROM to this Telstra phone. Please help, I'm sure there is other users with same question. Thanks all.
PS: hope this is the right place to post this in this forum.

I'm using a N7000B from Telstra too. I've tried Ultimate ROM, XXLSA/C Leaks, Paranoid Android and a few others and all have worked fine.

Thanks for that. Did it change to N7000 then. Did you use CWM or Odin.
Thanks again for reply. Sorry for all the questions new to Android

I've got the same phone, N7000b from Telstra. Currently running Paranoid Android 2.57.2 by Utacka and generally any N7000 non-b rom will install and run fine, though I have had some issues as the install ages. Usually a full wipe fixes any of these issues.
If you have the stock rom still installed, I'd be quite keen to get a copy off you. Is it ICS or still on GB?
I started off by following the instructions on this thread to get root. I had to downgrade the firmware using Odin, then root it as described in post #3 of that thread.
I've described the steps before - more info here

Thanks guys for your response and help. It gave me confidence and now I'm on PhilZ 3.99 kernel and Ultimate rom v 5.1. Works smoothly with no boot loop issues. might be the PhilZ 3.99 that solved it.
I found this stock rom for our Telstra N7000B and tested the md5 with odin. Worked great and reverted back to stock.

[Q] {Q} Paranoid Droid v0.2

Hi
Long time observer & admire you guy here on what you do, this website has helped alot but now i finally have a question.
With Paranoid Droid v0.2 i have followed Dr.Ketan's guide to downgrade & then root/install cwm & then update back to 2.3.6 via ODIN Mobile, the root is cf-root on a Galaxy Note, can i flash this rom with what i have currently?
Thanks in advance.
You are on rooted Gb and yes you can flash it safely. Wipe data and cache and flash the rom ...then flash the gapps. All done
I assume i flash it with ODIN Mobile & not from CWM?
I think i got it (it installed all fine etc) via CWM.
How do i get all the S-Pen apps back? are they on the market?

The S-pen apps will not work in this rom.
Thanks for the info, but i have now gone back to official firmware, so i assume only roms tweaked from the original source will have the feature set still? even so it was also missing the built in FM Radio app to listen to local radio without needing to stream it.
On a side note, whats the deal i been hearing with Touchwiz 5.0 some people say its on the Note others same its 4.0. Which version is it & what is the differences?

[Q] New 8.9 owner amd noob needs help rooting

So i got the 8.9 last week and am pretty happy so far. My main uses are internet surfing and hd videos from youtube and play store. However one of my only complaints is that this thing isnt the fastest. I upgraded to official ics when i first got the tab and its not bad but still id like to install Asop jellybean and overclock the tab to 1.2 or 1.4. However id hate to brick my tab which i see on here all the time. The only problem is i have no idea how to root, even after reading and searching for the past week. My question is could some one tell me or show me a link to show EXACTLY how to root to the newest asop jb from official ics without bricking and then tell me how to oc it? I am such a noob with this, I dont know what kernels or anything is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure how missed this thread in the list. It's stickied at the very top.

Good thing i didn't go a head and try to root. I have official ics installed and apparently you have to flash so,e cmw rom or something but i have no idea how to do that, i have searched the forums and all the instructions are just kind of bland and not real specific. Sad as it is, i am someone who needs exact instructions and explanations of how to specifically complete each instruction. Sorry that i am being a pain. I just bought thus tab on a amazon credit card and have not even, ade the first payment that is why I am so worried about bricking or messing up the tab. Thanks for any help

Hmm. I'd be careful recommending ROMs just yet. He hasn't mentioned which model of 8.9 Tab he has.
Given that he mentions he's already on ICS I'd assume he's probably got a wifi-only P7310. He doesn't mention any other radio types (3G, LTE, etc.).
@Wrebbs, what model 8.9 tab do you have?

I've tried various roms and liked cm10 very much. Had to flash stock 3.2 via odin to get rid of the garbled screen issue and decided to try update OTA to ics that worked and i'm running stock ics on my dutch 7310 now this works fairly well, so i am going to wait untill the battery drain issue is being fixed on cm10 and try again then

Not happy with the stock ICS version of the Tab? Did it upgrade over kies? Are you in the US? I am in Europe and have the 3G version. Have to use a ported rom from 7500 to get ICS.
The ICS I have runs really smooth! Price was good aswell. Strange that your TAB is slow...
Only problem I have is that Adobe Flash gives me some trouble in HD and on some sites.
I tried HC 3.2 Stock, CM10 JB 4.1, SafariKing ICS and ported ICS from 7500 v2 and honestly - If I had stock original ICS I think I would stay with it! The Jellybean ROMs still have issues. in Alpha Beta stages.
The Tracid rom mentioned might be the next rom I try, but still happy with the ICS rom I have. If it aint broke don't fix it... (Itchy though, flashing roms is fun.)
Take it from someone whos hard bricked before, take your time and do your homework. Make sure you know the rom is for your specific device. You're not going to see drastic speed increases even if oc'd. So take your time and re-read everything. Your going to have to flash a recovery first, cwm or twrp through odin. Again, make sure it's for your device. Then you can root or flash a rooted rom. Once again, make sure it's for your device.

Updating Android to Jelly Bean After CWM

Hello, everyone!
Following your guides I was able to root my mobile successfully and I'm very pleased about it. However, the current Android version is 2.3.6 and I'm unable to upgrade it, due to having CWM installed so the natural software update no longer works for me. I've read I need to put update.zip on my SD card and run it like the same process with a few other installations I've used with CWM. My problem is, I can't find 4.1.2 for S6500D anywhere, can someone help me with this problem? Or give me some insight? Kies doesn't work for me, I have the lastest version, but it always says my model doesn't support initialisation, although it does show there's a new firmware upgrade for the mobile phone.
Thanks in advance! Appreciate it.
looks like there isn't much custom roms for galaxy mini 2 . sad luck dude but keep searching though
This link may can help you, CM10 / Jelly Bean v4.1.2
keep update bro

[q] need some advices

Hello people!
I own a SGS I9000...ORANGE...BOUGHT IN SWITZERLAND...
I made the update to 2.2.1 Froyo when i was in switzerland on december 2011
Later..when i came in Albania (my country) i flashed via ODIN with 2.3.5 (about 1 year ago)... since that time i have checked via Kies for new firmware versions but ..nothing new. Now ..i want to ask you..Can i upgrade to a newer version of firmware...upper than 2.3.5 even if kies tells me that there are no new versions for my device???Because i've seen surfing on the net...people that use SGS 1..that have upgraded it to 4.2.1 Jelly Bean or 4.1.2 for example.
I repeat...its ORANGE
Thanks
AW: [q] need some advices
You can always upgrade, but 2.3.6 is the latest Samsung release. Everything about like 4.x.y are custom Roms that can be installed with custom recoveries like cwm or twrp.
Nearly every rom thread offers an introduction on how to do it or take the YouTube way.

It's safe, but Cyanogenmod has different build versions. The nightlies are untested version, compiled directly from the github source. The monthly release is sometimes a working daily use build.
Try it out, in the worst case you must flash back to an old rom like 2.3.6 with Odin, it's a nearly unbrickable device, just read or watch the guides carefully.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Advance ( GT I9070 ) Performace problem at Jelly bean 4.1.2

Hi All,
First i am a new comer for this community and new user for an android device .
I bought a new Samsung galaxy S Advance(GT-i9070). It came with Gingerbread. It was actually a phone with 768 RAM-I clearly verified this with the shop when I bought it. Last day I upgraded my phone to Jell bean with official Russian firmware (XXLPZ) and reset to factory default settings.
But now i am getting following issues on my phone.
It seems my devices is very slow and Stucks.Specially contacts,Media player,Messages. Also full RAM Capacity seems 521 MB at Application manager. All applications are now consuming memory from total 521 MB memory.Where is remaining memory? How can I obtain the remaining memory to speed my phone?
Mobile-networks---->Access point does not show any settings to setup APN to mobile network.
Some people on web says to root the phone , install ROM manager will solve these kind of problems. But i have called to shop and verified that rooting will void warranty. If i rooting is the solution ,Is there any possibilities to back it to Unroot when i need my warranty?
I saw there is a custom ROM also available to Jellybean 4.2.Is it possible to restore stock ROM later if i upgrade to Custom ROM?
What is /are ultimate solution/solutions all of my above problems.I hope all friends from this forum will guide me to sort this out
Thanks in advance
relax

1. Root + install custom kernel. It will fly.
2. Never had need to look for access point setting.
3. On JB you will not increase binary counter with rooting, like on GB. You can remove all evidence by flashing JB over again. "SU" file that provide root will be wiped.
4. Yes, you can use custom ROM, and then go back to stock by flashing stock firmware with Odin.

I guess you do not realize that Samsung has launched three versions.
LPY 7th January 2013: A very bad rom.
LPZ 21st January 2013: A bad rom.
LQ4 7th February 2013: Very good version. Stable and perfectly functional for everyday use.
Consider LPY and LPZ as a big mistake. Should never have been released.

Yeah, only thing to check is that you didn't increased binary counter before. GB have method to root that increase it. But you can reset it now, there is Shaaans method in developer section of our phone forum.

It is not location related, you will get updates from country that your phone firmware is. So if you use Russian, the you will get update when it come for that country.

Yeah. Just when you want to go back do not just use your firmwear, first flash things from guide how to downgrade. You have it on general forum I think. And rooting JB do not increase binary, like it was early on GB untill that other method.

Yes, Root + install some custom kernel.
Hi above solutions are worked for me.But it still seems the phone is slow for me comparing with original gingerbread.May be it is because i got bad experience at first release of jellybean russian version. It is difficult to change first impression So i downgraded to original gingerbread.Ginger bread is very stable and running on more than 50% of devices in world.so i decited to use gingerbread for 6 month untill jellybean become stable
