Galaxy Note network problem, Airplane mode ? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, sorry for my poor english, i'm french, but i will try to do the best i can.
I received my Samsung Galaxy Note yesterday, and i got a big problem to solve, so i hope someone here can help me ...
Since the first boot, i got signal loss issue ... every 10 or 15 seconds, i lost my network, the phone seems to go on offline mode on his own ... This happens if i don't use the connection, if i browse web, or download some apps, no problems, but if i do nothing, the signal go away ...
I tried every Radio here on the forum ... I tried differents roms, and nothing seems to change ...
I also noticed that when i plug the phone in charge, the network is perfect, no signal loss at all ... when i unplugged it ... i start loosing signal again ...
Is that a battery problem ?
I hope someone can help me ... thanks a lot.

I only received my phone yesterday as well, but I came upon a setting that might be causing your issue. Have a lookg at the "Power Saving" menu: if the battery is below a certain level, it may quickly disable some network functionality. Try using a custom power saving mode, and adjust the specified percentage.

Thank you for the answer, but this doesn't solve my problem ... i thing that i've tried everything i could ... the only solution left is to call samsung customer service because i really think it is an hardware problem ...

Try this:settings-wireless and network-mobile network-network mode--->change to "gsm only"

[Q] Anyone knows how to change HSPA / HSDPA to enable? PLEASE HELP!

hi... my name is Juan and I'm looking for help from chile...
I want to enable HSPA / HSDPA in my samsung galaxy S, because here is very slow our mobile network.
Me and my girlfriend we have the same cellphones, our configs are the same (options, mobile company, acces point names, everything!)
She can "surf" with HSDPA at 1.9mb/s but my phone is always in EDGE and everytime that I make a test with SpeedTest, my speed is 0.07Mb/s!!!!!
I read EVERY PAGE, in the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=837716
and I was looking more for help here...
I sought on internet and I tried EVERYTHING... but nothing happen...
Please, exist another way to change the HSPA / HSDPA from 0 (disable) to 1 (enable)???
please, help!
thank you!
no one?
any idea? change a variable inside the root folder??? please help.
thanks!
First do you have 3g enabled from your operator?
Secondly make sure your network is not set to gsm only in your handset
Im having this problem also.
Trying to flash CM7 and having issues. I believe the answer is to enable HSDPA.
Has anyone managed to successfully get this working. Im on Orange UK if that helps.
Did you followed this procedure:
Go to the phone dialer pad and enter this code: *#301279#
Click [2] CHANGE HSPA REVISION
Click [1] RELEASE 99 (HSPA OFF)
Then you should see something like:
CHANGE_R99
HSDPA OFF, HSUPA OFF
?
I've exactly the same issue. I have tried the *#301279# code and change it to on, but it just won't. I'm going into "Click [2] CHANGE HSPA REVISION" and selecting the HSDPA to on. But if I go back and check the status it is still 0. Is this has something to do with the carrier? Or maybe after selecting the value you need to save something? Desperate!
I have the same problem. I have hsdpa 0 hsupa 0 and can't turn it on anybody has solution ? I wanted flash cm7 but I can't do it without hspa enabled
Yup same issue here. Was going to create a new thread, but perhaps I should bump this one instead.
*#301279 is permanently ingrained in my head now, but I just can't seem to modify any settings through it.
Suggestions if anyone new has come on board?
if you are all running CM7 I think you need to flash to a 2.2 rom, enable HSPA in that rom and then flash back to CM7. I read that somewhere in the tutorials for previous versions and not sure if this bug still exists but just so you know. good luck

Enable 3g from your operator. Then go to settings > wireless and network > mobile networks > [select] use packet data, set network mode to WCDMA/HSDPA/UMTS.
Should work now.
I have the same problem..
but when i go to settings > wireless and network > mobile networks > [select] use packet data, set network mode to DSM/WCDMA (auto mode)
Where is HSDPA & UMTS ?
anyone can help..
This worked for me.
1. dial *#301279#
2. select 2
3. select 3
4. hit back key to exit.
5. go to Settings->Wireless Networks->Mobile Networks>Network
Mode. Select GSM/WCDMA(Auto Mode) or option 1 whatever that is.
6. hit back key to exit.
7. If still not working toggle airplane mode. This step should not be needed though. If you wait a few seconds you should see the 3g/h/h+ appear.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Captivate SGH-I897

I am getting problem when I change a Network coverage area with AT&T Samsung Galaxy Captivate model number SGH-I897. Whenever I go out of any network area, the Network goes off and to connect to the network again I have to get someone's local SIM card and insert it to get connected to Network coverage. After inserting the local SIM in new location/roaming, again when I insert my own SIM it detects network. This is really strange.
Moreover in the Wireless and network -> Mobile Networks -> Network Operators, it'll only give a Default setup option. Like other mobiles it doesn't show Manual and Automatic Network selection options.
Please help in this as I cannot use my Captivate while travelling in India as it goes off.
Can't you just get a replacement from where you got it?
Sent From My Captivating Shanna, yes I Named My Phone get over it.
I cant replace it as I am in India now. Any other way to correct this error.
Flash a custom Rom and you will get the the manual selection for networks, Somehow some phones does have this setting blocked i think build date 1009 and over not sure though, Please check urs and confirm.
@rkkaranrk : My phone Build number is Fasty II V1.6. Still I am not getting manual network selection. Any suggestions please post.
Build date is on a sticker on the phone underneath the battery. 4 numbers. First 2 indicate year, second 2 month. Mine is a 1010, for example which means it was made in october of 2010.
@studacris : The Build date on the sticker underneath the battery is 1105 i.e. 2011 May. Any suggestions.....
Try entering *#2263#, and have the phone default to 900 band it seems all 8 carriers in India support that band. Just a suggestion
@MZCaptivate :
Please let me know the detailed procedure to select. I had dialed *#2263# and selcted 900. How to verify its done.
Still it is giving me only Default setup under available networks

When you selected 900 which did you select it under, GSM or WCDMA? If you tried GSM then try WCDMA. To verify that your selection was successful dial *#0011#.
Dial *#2263#
Select [2]WCDMA or [3]GSM
Select [4]WCDMA 900 or [3]GSM900
Once you have made your selection press the Menu key and hit End
Dial *#0011# to verify

As i earlier said the manual setting are blocked on build on 1009 and above, i can confirm this on 1012/1101/1102 as i had personally checked the settings, On these model you cannot install apk files you have to DL all the application from the market.
As i said flash any custom rom you like and it will solve the problem.
Hi... Under = GSM band = when I select '[3] GSM 900 [*]' -> 'Select GSM 900 Only [*]' it asks for 'Select Row' ..... if I click ok without entering row number it gives following error :
Sorry !
The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly.
Please try again.

Please help in this

Galaxy Note 5 Service Mode

Hi,
Does anybody tried to access ServiceMode on Note5?
I tried *#0011# and it goes to connection info but the old method (Back, Q and 0000 input) seems not working, at least on my N920CD device.
I want to have access to main ServiceMode to be able change some settings, so share your knowledge and experince about this subject, thanks.
Sent from my SM-N920CD using Tapatalk
Nope, the usual suspects don't work for me. *#197328640# does not work. Q0000 doesn't work, nor does *#2263# for band selection. SM-N9208. Maybe I won't go international next time.
No LTE-A
No WB-AMR (HD-Voice)
No VoLTE

Taiwan N9208 CSC:BRI, How to enter "WCDMA ONLY" mode

Hi Guys,
I have been trying to find a way to connect to WCDMA mode only and not the "3G/2G (Auto Connect)" mode. I need to do this because 3G reception is little poor but the phone always stays in 2G mode and the internet is DAMN slow.
The Normal method in usual android phones is to type *#*#4636#*#* which brings up a Network selection menu, which doesn't work in our Note 5.
@developers: Can one of your ROM Control apps can be helpful here which have that option of changing Radio to "WCDMA" option only. I recall using a custom ROM once which had that development app built-in which allowed to do so.
PLEASE HELP!!
Bump!
No help possible?
Nothing?
