Galaxy Note 5 Service Mode - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Does anybody tried to access ServiceMode on Note5?
I tried *#0011# and it goes to connection info but the old method (Back, Q and 0000 input) seems not working, at least on my N920CD device.
I want to have access to main ServiceMode to be able change some settings, so share your knowledge and experince about this subject, thanks.

Nope, the usual suspects don't work for me. *#197328640# does not work. Q0000 doesn't work, nor does *#2263# for band selection. SM-N9208. Maybe I won't go international next time.
No LTE-A
No WB-AMR (HD-Voice)
No VoLTE

Can you turn LTE off with *#*#4636*#*# menu?

Can someone test to see if this works on the AT&T Note 3? You dial *#*#4636*#*# and then you can change the network mode. I am just curious if it sticks. For example, if you tap on WCDMA/GSM auto, you'll only get 2G/H+.
Would appreciate it if someone can test this out. Thanks

I don't think that dialer menu is available in touchwiz. You should have the option of changing your preferred network type from the settings menu though

It is. It's not available on non tw roms. AT&T takes out the network mode option in the settings.

I think that's backwards. I've always had that accessibility on my nexus devices but I've never seen it mentioned for a TW ROM.

Yea the menu is there here's a pic of the options for the AT&T note 3. I use it frequently while at work and set mine to lte only so I'm not bugged with phone calls but still have internet and text. It stays active until you turn off data, turn on airplane mode, reset the phone, or switch it back via that menu. There is also a wcdma preferred option at the top that wouldn't fit in the picture. Enjoy

Unable to get LTE after Un-rooting
Sorry if this does not appear to belong here, but since I have un-rooted my AT&T Galaxy Note 3 (N900A) using the Root de la Vega One-Click with N900AUCUBMI9 I have note been able to get LTE back. My device defaults to HSPA/HSPA+. After using #*#*4636#*#* in Testing Menu -> Device Information, I cannot even change the preferred network type to anything that contains LTE in it - only GSM or WCDMA preferred is accepted.
I would appreciate any help whatsoever.
Thank you in advance

Try booting the phone without your SIM. Might let you do it. If not your going to have to redo Odin back to stock again.

Open your dialer and type *#*#4636#*#* the testing menu should open.
Select Device info.
Now scroll down to where it says "LTE/GSM auto (PRL)".
Now scroll up to where it says "WCDMA preferred" and select it. Your network should now say HSPA:11.
Don't switch to "LTE only" as voice and text wont work since LTE is data only, at least until At&t deploys VoLTE.
The note 3 should retain your selection until you reboot. This also work on the Note 2.

That no longer works on AT&T Samsung devices made after the S3 and onward. The disabled that dial code to make their network more uniform and controlled.

[Q] Enable network mode menu or remove lock for changing modes

Hello
Now that we have root I would like to change my network mode, my S6 edge is only in LTE/GSM by default.
I don't have the network mode menu in settings, and if I go to *#*#4636#*#* I can see all the possible settings, but only a few of them are enabled. (GSM only, LTE only, WCDMA only, LTE/GSM), but not the one I want LTE/WCDMA/GSM, when I select it, it goes back to the option previously selected.
Anyone else dealing with this?
Will root help us to find a way to change this?
Thank you
your problem is the same to my s6 SM- g920F
Try you tube video " How To Change Network Bands on Any Samsung Phone Without Root" haven't tried myself

How can I enable the service menu on my Note5?

How can I enable the service menu on my Note5?
The reason is my Note5 always shows the 3G signal.
I would like to lock the 4G signal on my Note5.
Actually, any possible ways to enable the service menu on my Note5 without root?
Thank you so much guys
+1
Some kind of service code, like *#*#4636#*#* on a Nexus device shows Phone information in which we can force the signal to LTE or WCDMA only.
I would like to do the same in my Note 5 because it only shows 3G/2G auto connect or 4G/3G/2G Auto Connect only.
Anyone?
with some xposed tweek call force LTE you can do it i use it on my note edge, but without root i don't think you able to do it.
if you are rooted then you can use shortcut master app. but without root i couldnt find any method after trying for hours. so finally ended up rooting to get that very functionality.

Blank service mode

Hello,
I use the Three network in the UK with an unlimited data plan and they provide a service called 4G Super-Voice also know as VoLTE.
To get this working I had to flash my Note 9 with the 3 firmware which is annoying because of the boot screens but its worth it for VoLTE.
Anyway, I can only access 4G Super-Voice if I put my phone in aeroplane mode and then off aeroplane mode. I then can see using *#0011# that I am using band 20 which is used for 4G Super-Voice.
With this, I can access VoLTE, better signal and faster 4G speeds. But after 30seconds it goes back to Band 3 and I no longer have access to VoLTE and the faster speeds Band 20 offers.
I have had a look online and a few people have fixed this on other devices by only letting the phone access Band 20 and disable the rest. On my Note 9 when I try entering Service mode using *#2683662# I'm left with a blank screen with no options to select. Not sure if 3 have locked this on there firmware or if I'm accessing the menu wrong. Any Help is much appreciated. Thank You

Yes, you can lock out certain bands while allowing others, but the *#2683662# code has been deprecated in the latest models/firmwares.
Enter this diag code *#2263# or *#2766338378#, tap LTE Bands Preferences, one by one deselect all the bands you don't want (especially band 3), tap on Go Home or Go Back/Previous, and finally tap on Apply Band Configuration. If you did everything correctly your phone should no longer pick up the unwanted bands.
Here's some more information about this issue.
