[Q] Lag since rooting? - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I unlocked the boot loader and rooted my phone yesterday.
I am noticing some lag which I did not notice before under the following circumstances amongst others:-
Changing from landscape to portrait.
Opening messages.
Touching the back arrow
etc.
I have restarted the phone a few times and un-installed any apps I previously loaded from the market.
Am I imagining things or could rooting the phone cause these problems?

Not for me and what are you rom using

Rooting the phone should change absolutely nothing. I'd suggest getting a custom ROM that's been debloated with some extra handy mods like APM, battery%, etc...

Rooted Sprint Hero, Difficulty Updating

I rooted my hero several months ago to remove a bunch of the bundled software that was wasting space and constantly updating itself. I definitely noted some better battery life afterwards. The only problems I noted since were minor: app icons becoming blank or random pics, apps renaming themselves as random file names (ie. my sprint football app is now res/xml/widget_nfl.xml in my app list and the icon is just blank), everytime I my phone restarts, my weather channel widget doesnt load anymore.
The one major problem I've had has been that every time i've tried to update my firmware, the file downloads, I run it, and it says there was an error and it brings me to the root screen. I havent had time to play with it recently as I'm in med school, but I just found out that the 2.1 update finally came out and I need it to run a few apps. Before I jump ahead and do it, is there something that I'm not doing properly as far as updating a rooted phone? Skipping steps maybe? Any help would be appreciated.
Upgrade your Rom to the latest ruu. Roll it back to .5. Root. Done.
You'll lose what you have on your phone bit your problems will be gone.

Vibrates after phone is answered?

My 2.1 powered Hero is having a few speed problems, and one of them is that when my phone is ringing, the vibrator continues shortly after I've picked up. Quite annoying for both me and the caller. One time it didn't stop, not even after I hung up again, I had to shut down then phone completely!
So does anyone have suggestions how to fix this? I guess its a lag problem because the phone feels slow other times aswell, for example now when typing.
The problem is my phone's not even filled up with Apps etc, and I use an appkiller. Also the problem is there almost right after I reboot the phone.
I use the original HTC Rom running android 2.1. Have replaced sense with launcherpro though regarding the homecreens and appdrawer.

It sounds like a typical Sense UI issue...very laggy. Easiest solution is to root your phone, and install another ROM. CM6 is great, and it will get you up to FroYo (2.2). The lag will be gone, and your phone will work much better.
I was kind of hoping that wasn't necessary, but maybe I'll give it a try. Any link to the easiest way to install a custom rom? Don't know how to although I've read a lot of confusing guides a while ago.

BTW is there a way to remove/disable sense on my hero and go so stock android with launcher Pro, WITHOUT rooting and flashing a custom rom? So its easy to go back to sense if I think stock android is too ugly?

You dont NEED any kind of killer. Get rid of your junk apps, just delete them all. Disable all the vibrate options for everything(may not be necessary) and reboot. Run some tests. Is there a process popping that you think causes it? Delete its source.

[Q] Phone Unresponsiveness

Hello Community!!
I am seeing a problem with my Revo, and I'm putting it out here because you guys are good at finding answers.
I am running Gingervolt 1.3 with the blitzkreig kernel installed. I have previously tried Hicks' little ICS responsiveness script.
Here is my problem. Most days after little to moderate use, Phone/text, I have to reboot my phone by either soft reboot (power button) or a hard reboot (battery pull) because nothing at all is responding. By nothing I mean, touch the screen..nothing, open a program...nothing...etc.
It is a slow degrade sometimes where (and my wife has mentioned it using my phone) that the touch screen is really really laggy and non responsive, especially when using a keyboard or even trying to play angry birds.
I have done a full wipe including data, cache, dalvik. I have formatted my internal and removable SD card, I have not used previous backups, instead resorted to downloading programs and installing from scratch.
This is a very frustrating issue. If it was a computer I'd say either the processor was overworking, or the ram was used up. But since we don't use program killers in GB I'm kind of at a loss. And I'm tired of having to wipe my phone every few days just so I have meh performance (and no, I'm not hating on the phone, or the rom or any of the developers, nor do I have any interest in changing phones, etc)
I'm just looking for suggestions/solutions etc. I'm sure I missed something in my troubleshooting steps.
Thanks in advance for those who read through this and try to give a hand. I appreciate it.
Wow. Since you've already gone to extreme measures, I'm at a loss. My suggestion would be to freeze the apps you do install to look for a culprit there. Or, don't install any and see how the phone performs.
I restored a nandroid prior to Google's 10¢ apps promo and my phone is back in fine form. It was lagging badly before that. I was rebooting daily. Now I go for days and the phone's solid.

I was experiencing similar issues about a week after updating to blitzkrieg 1.0. I restored from backup and it's been stable since. I just installed 2.0 today, so I'm curious to see if it'll have the same effect.

I can't say yet whether or not 2.0 has added to or taken away from the response type issues. I did have to do a couple of battery pulls yesterday just to get firefox to do anything. I'm going to uninstall that one. I may, just for S&G's do one more factory wipe and put all the tweaks and mods in place before downloading anything but the most essential programs. I did this phone, but the unresponsiveness sometimes can be a real pain.
What do you have it clocked at? I have issues at 1.9 so maybe back it down a bit. I get lots of screen freezes and have had some rebooting issues at 1.9

Currently I have it at 1.7, before when it was really bad, the oc wasn't sticking and I was at 1024, so not overclocked much. I am sure its an app that is causing the problem, but I'm not sure what.
I've never had this type of issue using Blietzkreig or any of the other tweaks so I'd guess you're right in thinking it's an app. Since you've pretty much tried everything else I would say maybe try going back to complete stock then rooting again? That just seems like what I would try if I had tried everything else and nothing worked.
And yeah you definitely don't want to overclock too much because it could definitely damage the hardware of your phone since it's not meant to run at that level. But you said you had it at 1.0ghz so it doesn't seem like that is the problem unless the damage was cause when running at 1.7ghz. I had mine at 1.9 and didn't see any issues except my phone randomly started to vibrate for a while then just restart. It did that twice when i first flashed everything but it seems fine now. I brought it down to 1.0ghz just cuz i'm not really using it now and I don't want it causing any problems with the hardware.
Thanks for the Feedback everyone. I am not sure what the issue is/was/going to be. I think Firefox was a big part of it and I have since removed it. But I am still getting random freezes, almost like the deep sleep while the screen is on. Oh well, maybe I do need to go back to complete stock.

Unresponsive to touch??

So today my n3 is getting laggy and the screen isn't responding to touch at times. Have restated a few times and tried clearing default launcher from Nova to tw. Doing it on both at times and tw even gave me a fc as well.
Any thoughts?
Is stock and just rooted with using xposed

If only that simple. It's been rooted for weeks(about as month) and with xposed. Today is the first instance of it. Seems turning power saving mode of seemed to help some but still occurring. Example is when playing subway surfer can't move the guy or anything. Went into task manager ram getting near 2gb and cleared that. But nothing really in active to justify why so much ramgetting used up.
Re read mine. When I said "just" I meant that is the only thing done to our. Haven't tried SS or rom yet

flashing to stock rom and reset binary
Just one more thought, is your phone in a case and does the case have a wide border? If the border touches the display it could register as a touch and confuse your device. if it is touching in too many places such as 5 then your touch would be ignored. This could be caused by temperature changes making the case expand and contract, it also could just be you handling the case and putting pressure in certain places while trying to use it. This is just a though though as I had a similar issue on another phone once.
Thanks. The case is the Samsung s-view I think. The one with the Window screen when you flip it close. Have had it on since owned a well.
I'm guessing the only other option would be to flag back to stock and then re rooting again?
So here is my odd question if do. Mine came stock with mi9 and I rooted with dlv then did the ota trick to mj5 and kept root. Would I need to find how to go back to mi9 or would I be able to Odin to a stock mj5? That's something I'm not 100% on atm

[Q] Random reboots after OTA

I am experiencing random reboots at least once a day (mainly at night, when idle) after OTA Android 4.2.2. My HTC is the ASIA-HK. HTC_622. Tried almost everything, from hard reset to safe mode, completely battery drainage, etc., I am in stock, never beeen rooted. Can you help me?
Well, seems I am on my own with this one....thanks anyway

Bug found
Well, after soooooo many flashing and trial/error I found a relation to the reboots.:. IT HAS TO BE WITH THE LOCK SCREEN. If I let the screen unlocked there are no reboots at all, replaced it with a third app and voilá....finally solved....
I found an article (don't remember where), stating it was a bug in android 4.2.x, but I am currently flashing different kitkat roms without luck. ( blaming stock I finally unlocked it )
Can I still think it is a hardware problem?
Thanks and will apreciate any help.
