Back to Stock - LG Thrill 4G

I installed gingerbread from
http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-lg-thrill-4g-to-android-2-3-gingerbread.html
and the data speed is slow and i wanna go back to stock but once i flash stock and reboot i have no cell signal.

i think you have to put your apn in but i might be rong

I tryed using LGFlashTool but it only runs for 3sec and says fail. I must have a wrong DLL or the S/W is wrong. Anybody know the right files i should be using.

Hope someone can help me here. I have followed the various threads with no luck at all. Each time I get the time out message and then error. I had previously flashed FR12 and this baseband then tried the Eternity kernel, which kept going in a boot loop. I decided to go back to FR12 and update to this baseband but have only succeeded in putting FR12 on the phone, but with this I get a "No Network" message, (O2 Simplicity, UK), even putting in the APN manually (using the settings from a Samsung Galaxy which I use as a second phone with the same SIM card.
I can get into CWM, root phone, nvflash, so the only issue is no baseband at all, everything else on the phone works fine and I can install all the current roms. Does any one know a way to install original firmware ( i assume this would have the rom and baseband in) and where I can get the required files.
Many thanks
I have checked in the phone info and it shows as "baseband unknown", hence no signal ,though wifi works but the phone is useless, really would like to know how to get a baseband back on the phone.
Do you run in Windows 7? then you have to run as administrator!
On Win 7 Ultimate and have tried running as Admin but still get the timeout error. Have aslso tried to run in compatability mode but with the same result :-(

Did you read his POST???
Have you all installed all the device drivers
For the original Firmwares
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041
I have run the following
UK
BIN_LGP990AT-00-V10b-234-XX-MAR-14-2011+0
using smartflash. I still encounter the same problem in that the fls file keeps timing out at the same point, but I can run the bin file and it completes no problem.
All device drivers are installed so still doing alot of head scratching over this.
I would try re-downloading smartflash + drivers again just to make sure there wasn't a problem when installing them, may not have installed correctly
Ok, just redownloaded and installed smartflash again, with reboot before using and hitting the same problem.
I gotta go to work now mate so cant help any more but have a look through here
http://android.modaco.com/content/l...lash-setup-instructions-drivers-links-active/
From what I have read there is people have problems with it.
Thanks for the guidance here. I have looked at the thread and have had nvflash running and successfully used it to flash a rom onto the phone. The only problem is that they don't seem to contain the baseband as well. Does anyone know of a nvflash rom which contains the baseband or how to use nvflash to put a baseband on the phone.

I have followed the instructions in this thread previously but it still does not install the baseband. Is it possible that it just updates an existing one and as mine is "unknown" the programme will not work?

Have u tried reflashing the original firmware? Original firmware comes with baseband and if flashed should override your existing baseband.
The only original firmware I can find is from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041
but when extracted it has two files (.bin and .fls) Smartflash will let me flash the .bin file on its own but I can't flaash the .fls as it stalls at the point indicated. Is there another way to flash the original firmware I can try? (other than smartflash)
As my experience, you should:
- Try again more than 1 time. Cp bin ~ .fls, Ap bin ~ .bin.
- Change the LG cable by another.
- Using nvflash packed firmware to restore original 10b.

Like to thank people who responded to my thread as they kept pointing me in the same direction I had been so it made me determined that somehow it should work and I can't think of anything different I did this time but smartflash worked. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it numerous times, maybe that sorted it.
Once again thanks .
Glad to see u got it working

After restoring phone back to having a baseband I successfully flashed Fearkill 6.1 rom.after booting saw that I had put on the lg not the vanilla version so downloaded the vanilla and put onto the sdcard. Booted into cwm and factory reset and wiped davlik. Then installed the rom and the phone booted back up and I have NO BASEBAND again!!!
Why would that happen?
So now back to square one trying to get a baseband back in again. Retracing my previous steps but keep getting the time out again.
Back in business again, only took 30 mins to sort it out. If anyone knows why the baseband disappeared of the phone please let me know so I know what to look out for when flashing

If I were u stay with stock rom + Paul's performance fix for now. Wait till CM7 drops and try it.
I'm on that combination and testing out nexus one style of battery calibration now. Pretty impressed before it auto shutdown at 0% the voltage was 3362mV.

Ok this is really starting to p**s me off now Updated to FR12 ( used before with no probs) and my baseband went again (showing as "unknown") so again without a phone. NOw having the original problems of smartflash timing out, have done numerous reinstalls with it and tried all my isb ports and four different leads. Is there any other way to put a baseband on the phone I can still flash roms and use nvflash without a problem.
Thanks

Flash the latest radio.
3805.09.03.27 is the latest. But the latest is not the best. Please try every radio to get the higher radio rate and the best battery life.

btw the radio 3805.09.03.27 mentioned above is not present in this thread...
look I wanna ask something in addition...the mobile internet I'm subscribed to was working fine until today..im not able to connect suddenly, I called the telecom company and they couldn't help...tried so many stuff like wiping cache and checked all the settings...nothing worked...can u help?
place the radio files inside a zip file named "PG32IMG.zip" and put it on the root of your sd card. Than restart your phone into boot loader (make sure your phone is charged 30% or more) and it will automatically flash your new radio for you. After its done restart and delete the file from your sd card. Your data connection could be messed due to the radio version you have. If your connection fails to work install a different Rom.

No phone signal

Hey everyone i have had massive problems with the IMEI on my i9000 finally managed to flash back to stock ROM but im still getting no signal. The IMEI is fine and i have a backup of the efs folder saved. What files do i need in this folder as i will delete all of the contents then start again.
Thanks
If your still getting no signal but are not getting "No Service" then either the modem you flashed in the stock ROM is utter pants for specific handset so trying flashing a different modem or a different ROM altogether :/
But if a different modem or ROM doesn't fix it then you have a antenna problem... sorry bud
Hey mate,
Cheers for the reply. I will try a new ROM can you recommend any small ROM's that will work on my device? I don't know a great deal abour ROM's and flashing in general tbh.
I need to finish my guides badly! Then I'd just be able to point you towards them :/
But since their not... cause I've been lazy, please head over to SamMobile/ and create an account if you haven't already done and download the correct firmware for you i9000.
Getting the right firmware is difficult, it's even more difficult since I'm guessing you don't know the PDA build from what the phone was running originally... for example by phone when I got it was running I9000BVJV7 which is actually Android 2.3.3 for the UK and sim locked to Orange.
When you take into account that the Android version, the country and the carrier have an effect on the specific firmwares for two (on the face) identical phones you can begin to see how many millions of different firmwares there are out there just for one phone...
So just try your best and read all the helpful info on SamMobile. If you get really really stuck or if something nasty happens to the phone while flashing either come back to this thread or PM me and I will talk you through a recovery kit that will hopefully restore the phone to a stock ROM (but not official stock ROM).
Since you're new to flashing please be reminded flashing can completely kill a phone to the point of no return, having said that I must have flashed a million times in both ClockworkMod and Odin but that doesn't mean death can't happen at any time.
Thanks mate i really am grateful for the help. I will give that a go and see what i can find.
Downloaded all of the vodaphone rom's and all of the orange roms. The device was used on vodaphone and im still getting the same error :/ any more ideas?

No Sim Detected LG Optimus 2x :(

Hi
My phone suddenly stopped detecting all sim cards ( I have tried various working sims ).
It is running CM 7.2 and has been running cm 7.2 for a few months with no problems.
Today I took out the sim and put it back in to reboot, all was fine. I went to shower, came back and the sim suddenly stopped being detected.
I have tried to google but it seems most problems are to do with flashing a new rom and having the sim not work, my case is that the rom has been the same for a few months.
I have tried to flash different roms and I still have the same problem. I have a gut feeling it is the hardware that reads the sim that is faulty.
I have read something about a baseband, I dont know what that is but if it helps, when i go to the settings and click on 'about phone'
It says there is a baseband and it is version something. There are no question marks or anything like that.
I appreciate the help and would love some more troubleshooting suggestions.
The worst case scenario is unrooting it, flashing stock rom and send it back to warranty. I actually don't know how to do that so if anyone has a guide lying around please link me on that.
I have similar problem with new boot loader.
Download getril app from play store and see if your baseband is OK. If not, download and flash matching baseband from development thread. You will loose all personal data and your apps after flashing. Then download new ril with getril and reboot. Good luck...
This method was no helpful for me. Maybe you will have better luck.

Thanks for the reply,
When I first opened getril, it said RIL not found, I did not have one. I downloaded one and then it said RIL does not match. I then redid it on another firmware and it now says RIL and Baseband matches. Is this enough? The only weird thing is the baseband has canada and europe in it. I am from Australia. How do i tell which baseband/ril I need?

First you flash BB, then download RIL with GetRil. Read completely through BB sticky topic in development section. All answers are there.

You can flash as much as you want, none of that will help. Had same issue once, flashed almost everything there was through SmartFlash, NVflash and all of that. This is what you need to do:
First, remove the battery from your phone. Write down the IMEI. Now boot up your phone, write *#06# and see if the IMEI that pops up is the same as the one you saw behind the battery. If not, let us know and I'll hand you the solution, but first check if the IMEI matches.

I checked the IMEI and it matches.
I have some extra information if it helps, when I choose a random RIL from getril, the battery might become a ? mark and the sim card not detected error doesnt show anymore, however when I put it back to the original RIL, my battery bar starts showing the 'power left' and also the sim not detecting error shows again.

I get the SIM Toolkit Incompatible Handset error and then whether I press OK or Cancel, shortly after I lose mobile network access. I've been trying all manner of different things, Smart Flashing, NVflashing, changing basebands, Rils, you name it.
I'm currently on the V30B root ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2064793 and the Ril matches the baseband from that ROM, but that hasn't helped either. So I went and check the in phone and behind battery IMEI and they are different! I'd love to hear what your solution to this is!

IMEI Solution
If IMEI does NOT match, you will need to do this:
Check if you can get in a menu by typing 1809#*990#. If you can't, you will need to use a GB ROM (I remember I used Homero's GB NVFlash as I was on ICS bootloader and couldn't get access to it on ICS). Follow these steps if you are sure you can get into the menu:
1) Connect your phone by USB.
2) Enter 1809#*990# in dialer.
3) Select Port Setting -> Select CP USB
4) Install a program called Hyperterminal on your PC and open it. In COM settings select same port as in device manager -> LGE Mobile USB Seial Port (should be 115200)
5) Type at%imei and it should respond by saying OK
6) Now type at%imei and it should now display your current IMEI number.
7) Type at%imei=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX where X is your original IMEI number.
8) Reset phone.
You might have to reboot your phone after step 3. But see if it works without.
I have been thinking that this is a hardware issue, I have not changed a single setting/rom/baseband at all, the sim just wasnt detecting when I came back to my phone. The rom and settings were the same for a number of months.
I am now going to give it in to warranty, however it only has 1 month left. I have tried to install the stock firmware but with no luck..
I found a rom to flash for my region, it is a zip file but when I try flash it with Clockworkmod, it says installation aborted....
Shouldnt I be able to flash the roms with CWM? The file is a zip file just like the CM7.2 rom I flashed. Do I need nvflash instead? I found the rom here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852112 (the download links were removed so I googled the exact same rom)
I was also told that if I just use the LG update tool, it sohuld automatically update the phone to stock firmware AND unroot it, only that the update tool gives me an error. Whats the best approach guys?? I need to get this fixed before my warranty goes.

Your imei should not show in settings, it should show in the back of your battery and when you dial : *#06# into the phone (where you dial numbers for calls).
Cant help you with baseband.
OP here, I am trying to unroot my phone and put stock firmware to get warranty to fix the simcard reader ( i believe it is a hardware issue ).
If I use nvflash and flash any stock firmware I can find on the internet, will that be OK? I have a feeling each region of optimus 2x has slight differences in firmware, eg swedish stock roms and australian stock roms may differ in the default applications etc.
Will it be ok to just install any kind of stock rom for my warranty? Help would be appreciated my warranty is running out in less than a month now.
I also tried to flash stock firmware with CMW, it didnt work. I am about to try NVflash, so I went into greater detail in page 1 but no one replied yet. If you guys know please help. I am more familiar with CMW than NVflash. I have not used NVflash yet.

After I finish typing in 1809#*990# in dialer, nothing happens. If I press the green phone handset icon to dial that number it comes up with an error message of "Mobile network not available".
Any further advice? Thanks.
Okay, I failed at reading comprehension – it has to be an LG Gingerbread ROM for this code to work, NOT a CM-based one!
Trying one from somewhere-I-cannot-link-to-yet
Success! Once I was back on the original stock LG Gingerbread ROM, I could reset the IMEI and make/receive calls again using this method. Thank you very much!
Now all flashed back onto a nice "working" nightly CM10.1 and a very happy little device.
Many thanks all.

[Q] Flashing T-Mobile basebands on LG Thrill 4G

Hey there guys. I made an account here because I seriously don't know what to do. I've been googling how to get T-mobile's 3/4G
on the LG Thrill and I saw that you could flash the V21 baseband and it "supposively" works. The thing is I'm on ICS Stock 4.0.4
unrooted since all the tutorials I've tried end in a failure, and I'd like to get the baseband on ICS.
Is there any way it could work?
By the way, if it can't (or is too complicated) Can you guys help me on how to root and flash the baseband as is. So I can just get
better speeds (anything is better than Edge)
i know that i am wondering the same thing... for some reason i can get 4G in certain areas but it wont pick up 4g when im at home.
EDIT:
I've noticed if I go under settings and search for networks that sometimes "UMTS" is listed in certain areas and I can register on the network but its certain areas for some reason.
EDIT2:
I was able to successfully flash the v18a baseband onto the phone. When using the LG Flash Tool make sure to use a LGP920.dll instead of LGP925.dll. It took forever to register on the network though but it works!

am I doing something wrong?
Probably it is incorrect driver install. Be sure to Uninstall all LG stuff, reboot pc and follow all details carefully, esp. section 1. Log on to pc as admin for everything. Remember baseband flash will 'fail' after 80 or so seconds, but that means it worked...
