so far I have found that there is a definite issue with the graphics driver
Pool Break Pro - texture and reflection issues
Sprinkle - unable to produce water effect - i have tried the all device versions
If it's a software issue, try flashing other rom and trying again.
I haven't noticed any issue's with this version been playing gta 3 and counter stike no problems

I don't seem to have any lag with phone or contacts. I've used the latest lag fix. Everything seem to be flying, mind u I came from touch hd so pretty much the gs beat it in everyway. Latest lag fix is awesome.

Which lag fix which you use?
I had the same results with the fix. 2134 points but so much lag when opening my contacts or viewing the gallery. So I went back to the fix with the data in /dbdata/data
I'm starting to doubt the accuracy of the touchscreen driver and its multitouch capabilities, while playing some games sometimes the controls just get stuck and i have to retouch again so that of assumes the point where i want to touch...
An example is when I'm at the AOSP lockscreen and touch the unlock slider without sliding and meanwhile with the other thumb touch the opposite extremity of the screen it automatically unlocks just like a non multitouch screen...
Is this normal?

Even tough I have a G2X, I've noticed this problem as well. It's extremely noticeable when playing Tetris. I'm really surprised this hasn't been discussed on either the optimus or g2x forums more.
Anyway, this and the screen bleed issues I've been having are annoying enough to make me want to return the device and go back to using my old nexus s. For me, the nexus was approximately 1000 times more usable.

I've also noticed it while playing Modern Combat 2.
As far as the bleeding goes there's nothing we can do, although i believe there are some P990 worse than others.
Now for the multitouch isnt there anything we can do?

Sometimes for me yes it is stuck, I have to "re click" to get my fingers back. It makes it on my psx emulator (I have the fingers on the screen all the time when playing).
I'd say the accuracy is not very good on some apps. But on multi touch tester, it's 100% perfect up to 8 fingers, then 8+ it starts to bug.
So maybe more a software development concern ?
Yeah, I really don't think this is hardware related. In fact, multitouch seems to work great with a host of apps. When it comes to certain apps, especially games, its almost as if mutitouch is off due to the program lagging? Not positive about this. Anyone else experience the same?

Can't say I've had any issues like this.
Tested: fpse, Samurai 2 (THD game).
Edit: 3 finger verticle swipe on Google maps is also fine.
Are any of you using a MoDaCo ROM (or derivative)? If not, apparently Paul implemented a MT fix a while back which may help.

i think this is the same problem as with xperia arc. i believe that the touch technology on these phones is the same (real touch or sth... dont remember.. supports up to 32 touches) and its not exatcly optimised ,as in the drivers suck.
yes its a SW problem, idk how to fix it tho
Does anyone manage to run this game on Milestone/Droid?
I have the first one with Froyomod 2.8.0 and I had run games like Shadow Guardian or Assassin's Creed, but this seems IMPOSSIBLE!
I've tried Chainfire, 40M VM Size tweak, download it again...
Have you tried editing the build.prop? Specifically ro.product.model and ro.product.manufacturer?
I'm using CM7, and the game crashes after the PopCap Games logo. Hopefully something will get figured out.
I turned up the VM heap size to 48, and then I used AutoKiller to lower the OOM value of Plants Vs Zombies, and I got to the loading screen of the app for a couple seconds (past the PopCap splash screen) screamed out loud in happiness, then it crashed.
I'm starting to think that the problem is the port of PopCap. Chuzzle has the same problem in Milestone :/

try the lastest miui rom or cronos ginger 1.1.0/1.4.0 with pcphobics modifications if u wanna play games ..
The problem is that the game need 180mb of ram, but your phone can only give something about 120mb ram. So I don't think that it will be working on Droid/Milestone.

Playing Plants vs Zombies on my Milestone
Ok I just installed it. No problems on my Milestone.

Hmm, this is the same version of the Amazon Appstore??
It seems different...

pcphobic, oh please don't inject 'hope' into other Milestone owners!
That is the unofficial ported version!
The official version had those plant icons on the left side of the screen (not on top like what you have). And it run much smoother as well.
oh, what we talking about is the official version, i dont think that your PVZ is that. The size of the official one is up to 80M!!!
Hi all
I upgraded my german galaxy note to ics 4.0.3 using kies (pc version) I am noticing a serious lag in flash when viewing videos using the browser, this is using the latest flash plugin, my partner uses the galaxy nexus and flash videos work fine usng the same flash plugin. On the play store , I noticed a lot of people complaining about my experience using galaxy s2 after their ics upgrade.
I would like to know if anyone else is experience the same flash video lag
Regards
Francis
I have had issues as you describe, but they're not consistent, some videos play fine and others buffer frequently. This was never the case under GB. I've seen a couple of other threads on the same issue.

+1
My Note lagged so much I decided to go back to GB. A lot of apps needed an extra second to start up. Videos were buffering a lot where the exact same videos on GB didn't need that much buffering. Graphical performance was rather poor. My favorite launcher lagged a lot (not on GB)
official ics for note lag
I experiences the same issue. just upgraded the official ics yesterday. i found out that the home is lagging while scrolling to next page. my installed large-size games (fifa2012, shadowgun, etc) lags too.
I agree - the UI seems buggy and slow. I want to be more excited but can't be... not only is it the lag.. but also the battery drain thats pissing me off !
Guys...i was facing lag and bugginess... Factory resetting did the trick.. Works like a dream.. The battery life has doubled..

Which Version of ICS did you install ??
there may be slight differences between versions
I tried the German rom and it was horrible and wouldnt play anything video wise...
So I too went back to Gingerbread and everything is back to normal.
I also take it you don't have the Deep Sleep issue with your ROM either.

I'm getting ready to root and install a custom rom, will my GPS work then? Also is the tablet her experience smoother after custom rom install?

This topic should have been created to general. GPS will work on most of the ROMs, and the lock time can be even boosted with some apps. Tutorials to boost lock time can be found on xda, but in different device forums. Use search to find them. Tablet seems to be faster for me. I also use supercharger script which keeps makes the device work better too.

To my experience, there is one caveat, especially for overclocked models and units. The CPU produces too much heat, and the GPS receiver stops working in some finite time. Either it sees the satellites but cannot fix on them, or does not see them at all. Then the CPU and the GPS start running at their full speed, searching for the satellites, and heat even more, etc. Finally it may be so hot that you sense burnt if you touch the plastic (!) housing at the motherboard corner.
Once switched off and cooled, it works properly, but not too long - in my case, about 10 to 15 minutes. Surely it dependes heavily upon the GPS program that you are running, and upon how intensively it uses the CPU. But nowdays most programs are written in the most straight way to run the engine at full rate, without regard to the fuel tank 8-(
First I ran into this problem on 1,2GHz model, now things are even worse on 1,5GHz motherboard. I think CPU needs to be deliberately underclocked when using this device as a GPS navigator. And generally this is not the best product for this application. It makes sense using its GPS capability only occasionally, in non-critical situations, as a side benefit to its other uses (media player/internet browser/book reader/etc.)
ps. There have been numerous complains in this forum about GPS non-working in various firmwares. In such cases, check for overheating first of all! This is really a weak point in A101G9 design. Apparently the overall design was done for 1GHz CPU, and putting the 1,2 or 1,5GHz in the same housing is beyond its cooling capabilities. Or think about placing a small USB-powered fan into the modem slot, it is possible to do even without opening the device itself.
My GPS does not work atm. I was hoping that using a custom rom would fix that. Hmmmm what to do?

My experience with Rooted Firmwares is good, the tablet runs a bit smoother if you set the cpu at the maximum clock and have it stay there, battery life is not affected from what I've seen... The Tablet does get warm if you give it "intense" tasks, but not hot enough for it to "burn" in you hands... GPS has been working 100% perfect for me... maby try installing GPS test and faster fix from the market, that might improve the gps performance.
Rooted my 101 T9 Turbo, no GPS problems at all.
Posted from Android 4.0.3
I have a G9 80. I have seen success with the following ROMs:
1.Stock ICS 4.0.7 Rooted (not the deodex version, but the original version)
2. ICS Blue
Stock 4.0.6 rooted did not work (couldn't lock onto satellites) and neither did 4.0.7 in deodex form (Sygic GPS software crashed). Make sure after flashing rooted ROM that you also download GPS Test app. Go into settings and clear AGPS data. This should allow you to lock onto satellites very quickly.
I'm currently running the ICS Blue ROM using the Sygic GPS software and loving it.

Awesome, I'm working on getting blue loaded, but I'm running into a couple of snags. Good to hear that it works with blue. Blue with o/c will be my weapon of choice now. Hopefully going to get it loaded tomorrow, as well as jellybean on my 989 galaxy.
