I was fiddling around with ROM Manager and installed the touch recovery, when I tried to reboot into recovery my phone just hung at the LG boot screen. I am at a loss on what to do with it, is there some type of software I can download to fix this?

I'm on a Sprint Hero. I used the universal one-click to root. Titanium Backup to restore my apps after flash. Clockwork's ROM manager for the rest.
Two days ago I decided to flash my first ROM, CM6. When I flashed I got a little carried away, flashed the ROM, gaaps, sprints vvm, the mms fix, and a stable uncapped kernel all at once. Bottom line, it wasn't running quite like I had hoped and I was running out of spare time. Flashed my nandroid backup and was good to go. Everything restored like it was before I started.
Yesterday I found some time and decided to try flasing CM6 again. This time starting slower, with just the cm6 and gapps. Then everything else as needed.
Here's the problem; I can't get to recovery mode. I've tried the "Reboot into Recovery" from the ROM manager. I've tried the power down, power up w/ home key held down. I've tried power up with volume down key then choose recovery mode. I've tried installing rom from sd (this gets me to the point that says it is sending me to recovery to finish installing).
I get three different results, and they seem to apply themselves randomly to my reboots. First, I get hung on the white HTC screen. Second, I get the white HTC screen, the phone gives a vibrate and the screen goes off. Third, I get the white HTC screen, the phone gives a vibrate, it reboots back through the HTC screen and starts up like nothing happened. For the first two, the only way to get the phone back is a battery pull.
I have rerooted with the one-click. Still no luck.
I can restore my original nandroid backup through ROM manager.
I can flash clockworkmod recovery. It is current at 2.5.0.1
Could someone please help me find my recovery mode.
Thank you.
Peace.
Have u just tried holding down power and home it takes like 20 seconds just keep holding them it should pop up and if you hold power down and volume down wen the screen pops up just hit home button and wait it should popup hope this helps good luck

I have tried both. I have also tried getting to recovery through Clockwork's ROM manager.
Every time my phone tries to get into recovery mode it gets stuck. When I say it gets stuck, I mean one of three things happen. First, the phone hangs on the white HTC screen. Two, the phone gets past the HTC screen, the screen shuts off, and the phone becomes completely unresponsive (when this happens I need to pull the battery to get it back on). Three, the phone gets past the HTC screen, reboots itself and boots right up to the stock sprint ROM(it ignores my request to get to recovery mode).
This morning I tried something new, but still failed. I uninstalled Clockwork's ROM manager. Erased the clockwork folder from my SD card. Reinstalled the ROM manager. Flashed the ClockworkMod recovery. Was successful with getting a recovery, 2.5.0.1 Tried to backup my current ROM. The phone rebooted, gave me the HTC screen, then shutdown and I need to battery pull. After that I tried the Home Key recovery reboot and got the same shutdown.
Does anybody see anything that I have done wrong here? Anywhere. I just want to find my recovery mode. Is there another way to get there?
Please help.
Thanks.
Peace.
Try flashing a different recovery I recommend Darch Star RA 1.7 If you search XDA /hero cdma/ android development you will find a thread called Darch Droid 2.8 go there and on the first page u will find it along with instructions on flashing the recovery if you need help with that just respond here and if I can help I will but hopefully that helps good luck

Trip, I think I love you!
This got me back to where I need to be. I've got my recovery mode back! I'm running a nandroid as I type and I'm on my back to CM6!
Thank you for suggesting something that hadn't been suggested yet.
Peace.

i installed cm6 and everything was fine, then i installed google gapps, now when i turn on my phone, it starts up normally and after it finishes boot it gets stuck on ""TOUCH ANDROID TO BEGIN"" i touch that lil guy but nothing happens, he just turns white while my fingers are on him, i don't know what to do i already ran out of options, has this happened to anybody before, can any one help me, please
man I wish I could remember what fixes this... I had it happen to me a while back, all I can tell you is there is a fix, and theimpaler747 helped me find it, see if you can post in his cm6 q+a, or pm him. good luck!
also, I do remember that he said something about waiting to acquire signal, like if you don't have signal it might fix itself when you do find signal.
also, have you tried booting into recovery and doing a nand restore?
Reboot into recovery wipe, reflash the rom (don't forget to wipe)

Did you wait until 3G is connected?
Try downloading gapps again and reflashing might be a bad download it happens @ times good luck

Hello, and sorry to annoy, no idea what im doing.
Tried to install CM7 but got like a loop of the CM7 skater, so I tried to restore a backup, however when i rebooted I got to the LG sign with the loading bar beneath, however this stalls and proceeds no further.
I have v3.0.2.8 ClockworkMod and can get there but no idea where to go next.
Trying to get stock rom back or CM7 working, either way, would just like a phone not a brick
Massive nood, any help would be awesome
cheers
you can always nvflash it back to stock. check the forums at XDA/modaco for more info.
edit: here's the link in case you can't find it

Sounds like you forgot to wipe :-\ Did you do a factory reset?

I am really hoping that I dint screw big time myself by trying SimplyAOKP 6 FULL ~ ODEXED !!! But I know am !
I HAD Galaxy Captivate and loaded Talon Kernel with Continnum6.1 for a while and as it was having performance issues and very slow response, thought of trying ICS. Thus I ended up with SimplyAOKP 6 FULL ~ ODEXED. Downloaded the latest version as of yesterday and did factory reset, cleared dalvik cache and everything mentioned in the site. Then flashed from the sd card. It just stayed at Devilkernel picture. It wont move further and wont respond to the keys/buttons.
Took the battery out and restarted, it boots up and stays at the screen which shows Devilkernel Galaxy S and thats it, stayed there for a day!!!
It wont respond to any button and I have to take out the battery to even come out of that screen. It wont show up in the laptop if I connect thru USB.
Please let me know if theres anything I can do or I just am done?
I am soo sad that I tried this, I should I have atleast waited for my contract to be over with ATT to try anything, now am really f-d up?
Please let me know (what ever be the reply)!
Thanks
B
Take a look at the "Captivate Connection Issues" thread for ways to get into recovery or download mode.
If you had backed up all your stuff before flashing, you can just flash a stock rom and try to install ICS again.
You are in no way screwed at all. You can probably still get into recovery mode. If not, download mode will be there.

I installed cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly 20130824 accidentally, thinking that it was another 10.1 update (which by then was pretty stable), and realized that i made a big mistake: tonnes of bugs (focal, screen elements blacking out, play store not working).
But when i tried to boot into recovery to restore my clockworkmod full back up (which i do almost everytime i update CM), the "Galaxy Note N7000" boot screen comes up, and then a black screen. I can still boot back into the normal boot, but the tonnes of bugs just annoys me sooo much.
(i've tried to boot into recovery many times, to no avail)
Then, i tried to update it. I figured a newer version should at least be slightly more stable.
But updating cyanogenmod requires the phone to boot into recovery.
soooo fk.
Also when i try to boot into download mode, a screen showing an android icon and Downloading Do Not Turn Off Target pops out.
So after some google searches which didnt help, i came here to xda devs hoping you smart people could help me with this predicament.
Please tell me, has anyone experienced this problem on any phone and do you have any idea what to do?
It's a known bug with cm10.2. Follow this thread, just install phillz kernel to give you recovery, then you can flash cm10.1.
