Alright, after trying lots of roms i've decided to stick with stock rom. Yeah it's best for me. And Yesterday I've tryed to run PC companion, and pressed repair phone. Okay so far, and after i've ticked the box about backup and restore data, it says: pc companion unable to start phone software update components So, today I've reinstalled the PCC , drivers installed = Okay... Here we go again, once i've ticked the box, same ****, it wont let me repair the phone. I tryed everything: reboot the phone, reboot the PC. And result is same as above. So any suggestions? And also, Does SEUS unroots the phone? If yes, somebody could you provide me a link?
-Peace.

If you are trying to flash back to Stock from a working or partially working custom ROM PCC will tell you at a 99.9% chance that there's no update available hence refuse the "Repair" - or throw some other highly confusing error message.
To flash back to Stock you need to go through FlashTool.
- Flash back to the Stock Kernel in case you're also running a custom Kernel!
- Flash back to Stock ROM.
You can also root the ROM through Flashtool or use SuperOneClick - your call.
Here's a Guide I once wrote up on how to flash back to Stock / Unbrick (a soft brick) - make sure you stop at the xRecovery step (unless you want xRecovery installed for whatever backup matters).
Thanks, but have you got an answer to my other question? Does SEUS unroots the phone when flashes the stock rom?
I think the Guide answers the question as there's a part dealing with "Root the Droid"
To especially point it out ... YES, flashing back to Stock will UNROOT the phone (hence why you have to root anew).
That's what i've wanted to know! Thanks B.Jay!

I installed another roms like Froyobread and Ginger DX v18 months ago..
What happened: I was trying to install Ginder DX when I got my phone bricked ! I do not know what to do, the phone turns on everytime and lock when the message "Sony Ericsson" appears.. I tried to backup and got fail.
What I did: I used PCCompanion to get my Xperia full factory wiped, then I installed Superuser, Astro File Manager and Root Explorer to install xRecovery later..
Then I turn off my phone to install CMW Recovery using xRecovery..
Successfully, I turned on my phone but it didn't pass the message "GingerDX"..
So I turned off my phone again (xRecovery).. and I installed again CMW Recovery using xRecovery..
Now I can't backup (I do not know why it didn't work.. when I backup, it get successfully, but when the phone starts, it locks when the message "Sony Ericsson" appears..)
What do I do? The phone keeps turning on without pressing the button to turn on, with that, I couldn't use PCC and I backup doesn't work !
Thanks.. and sorry my English !

Just flash back to stock Roms, use flash tool to root again reinstall your GingerDx again. No worry!
it sound like u forget to fullwipe after install GDX rom..
boot loop always happen when u not fullwipe..
if u did fullwipe, u have to download again the gdx.zip file
and install with the new gdx.zip file

use SEUS/flashtool to unbrick and mate always do a fullwipe from recovery menu before flashing a new custom rom
Possible solution!
OK I had similar problem, I solve it! By my experience I can say that you was actually trying to install gingerdxv21B on stock kernel, which can not be done as far as in the post of this rom is precised that you must use nAa kernel 08 ( you can check that on the original post and if it`s not nAa`s kernel, than is surely some other custom kernel, but not the stock one )! So, lets try to solve this!
1. If you used stock kernel to install gingerdx21b and if you are sure that you never try to use any custom kernel, than you can simply use this update service STEP BY STEP DON`T MAKE MISTAKES OF TYPE PLUG THE USB CABLE TO EARLY OR WITHOUT DEMAND ... It`s very simple program! I STILL CAN NOT POST LINK SO correct this link: mediafire.c o m / ? xxjypffvd173b0p [/ url ] by removing all free spaces. If you already have this program-even better!
2. If you used custom kernel and installation process had some unknown different issue than that that i mentioned above, just use your flash tool to flash back 2.1.1.A.0.6 (download it if you don`t have it), and than use the Update Service file that i linked above to help your phone get back in shape - REPAIR IT ALMOST AUTOMATICALLY!
3. NOTE! I have read some where in this forum that re locking bootloader is not essential, BUT I am recommending you if your bootloader is unlocked to read more about UNLOCK/RELOCK bootloader in case you want back to STOCK RULZ!
Help me guys.
I had rooted my phone and installed GingerDX on my W8. Used it for some time but then I wanted to try a new OS.
So installed GingerXperia v22 & 23. I liked both of them but they had many bugs and weren't functioning properly.
I came across this video www[dot]youtube[dot]com/watch?v=VONr7v4o1Bs . It has mentioned GingerXperia v25 in its description with a link to it.
I took a risk and installed this in my phone.
But now my phone is stuck on the initial SE screen. It can't access xRecovery on pressing the "back" switch.
What should I do now ?
The date under the battery is 11W32.
use pccomanion or flashtool to flach stock rom....
i dunno if this rom want a custom kernel, but you cant unlocked your bootloader!!!!!
hey bro dont worry its no big deal..........reflash the stock rom using flash tool...............it will be fine........and next time be careful.............
This is what you need to do.
1.iF You dont have pc companion install it.
2.after that plug your phone into your pc, then click on update.
3. it will say that it didn t detect your phone, CLOSE THAT WINDOW.
4.somewhere there should be an option repair. Hit that and do thaat what instructions says.
Hope that helped
thanks guys, used SEUS and reinstalled the default version
Before download a rom, read whether it support stock kernel or not, good luck
I NEED HELP!
I've recently updated GingerDX from v28 to v29 using CWM. Once updated, I rebooted and now I'm stuck at the 'Sony Ericsson' screen. Nothing happens. Tried everything, but now the phone doesn't go past that screen. I can't even boot with CWM to apply any restore (I did a backup before installing new version of Gdx).
Please, anyone could tell me what to do? How do you boot the phone with CWM after turning the phone on? Is there any way to go past the 'Sony Ericsson' screen? Will I need to fully restore my phone to its original OS or anything?
(and most important... is this 'hardbricking' the phone?)
Thanks in advance!
It's just softbrick. Use PC Companion or Flashtool to install stock ROM, then root, install recovery etc.
repeatedly tap the screen at boot to access CWM. If you can get into there try to reflash rom, full wipe etc.
If you cant get into CWM you have a soft brick and you need to repair with PCC - re-root - re-flash etc..
Thank you for responding so fast.
I've tried tapping repeteadly the screen when turning on, but doesn't seems to work ('Sony Ericsson' screen is not moving anywhere).
And also I've installed PC Companion to do a factory reset, but this won't work either because it's asking me to turn on USB storage to connect to the phone, and since I can't get past the 'Sony Ericcson' screen there's nothing I can do.
Any ideas? I'm starting to freak out a little bit.
Thank you again.
Turn off your phone (by taking out the battery). Open PCC. Open support zone. Choose Update phone. It will shoe you a window, select repair.
Here you have some screens, it's in czech but you should know where to click.
My bad. I wasn't entering 'Support Zone'. It's done, the phone is restored to its awful Eclair system.
Since I'm doing all the process again (rooting, then changing baseband, then CWM, then installing GDX)... I'd like to start clean. Is it safe to format the SD Card? Besides losing pictures and stuff, am I running any other risk?
That should do it. Thank you guys again! I was unhopeful for a moment!
(still... what a waste of time doing all this again... but hey, the price you pay for using roms)

It is safe to format your SD card. Just backup your photos, music etc. to PC and format it. Then copy your stuff back to SD card.
OK NOW I'M REALLY UPSET!!!
I've done it all again:
1) rooted phone with SuperOneClick v1.9.1
2) installed 'xrecovery mini 0.1 beta' (copying the 3 files inside the .zip on the system > bin folder)
3) changed baseband from 006 to 015 using FlashTool
4) installed 'clockworkmod 3.2.0.0 r3 x10 mini Amend' using xrecovery
5) finally installed 'ginger dx v0.29' using clockworkmod
Now the Sony Ericsson screen again. Again, nothing. The phone is not booting. What am I doing wrong? Is any of those steps wrong?
I think I should stick to Gdx v028... if works... now I'm confused.
be sure you have installed the right rom for stucks and addons.and read for the fix.
You are missing the most important part...full wipe/factory reset before installing
Sent from my X8 using xda premium
v029 is buggy for me after fullwipe too so try staying on 28 maybe or make sure the one you install is for your kernel
Sent from my crap using xda app
I think I found what might be the problem:
In the GingerDX thread there are 2 .zips available for download:
.one that says 'Alfs/nAa'
.and one that says 'stock'
I don't even know what 'Alfs' or 'nAa' are, but I believe this version isn't suitable for my phone... anyone can check this? So I downloaded the 'stock' version, now I'm gonna try with this one.
I don't know anything about kernels and stuff... I've always flashed the ROM only... and it worked fine. Now I'm reading all this notes about kernels and Alfs and I don't even know what they are... but I'm starting to believe this has something to do with my phone softbricking.

if you have locked bootloader you have to flash stock version of ROMS.:good:
try downloading and replacing the ROM
Solved!
I've installed the 'stock' version of the ROM (GingerDX v029) and now it's working fine.
What did you mean with locking bootloader?
Hello friends.
Now I am with 2.2 cyanogen mod. I wanted to install FroyoBread.v23b so I put this folder into sd card and with oldest one xrecovery I tried to install it but it showed some error. So I decided to install other xrecovery "Bin4ry & Androxyde" OS Version 6.1. but after that I even cannot open xrecovery and when the phone loads up it starts to force closing everything so I cannot do anything.
Any ideas what to do? Please I really need a phone :/
...
Use PC Companion to restore the state of the factory and redo everything from scratch.
Use x8toolbox & get CWM & flash froyobread

use PC Campanion (the best way) to repair your phone its super clean and clutter free!
original latest 2.1.1 by Sony officially
or
Use flash tool (The fast Way) to repair your phone really quick and need to search
for the firmware of the original 2.1.1 and flash it by using flash tool
you can find the firmware in Gogeta's Signature, download it.
if u want to roll back your phone into 2.1 download this ftf file
or x8toolbox
and do clean flashing on kernel and ROM
dont forget to factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, and wipe batery stats
if u want install cwm use search button..n u will find topic about installing CWM
In both situations I get stuck in the same situation when I need to unplug the device, turn it off and while holding back button plug the usb cable again. Then nothing happens, phone starts as usual and starts showing many "force close" errors

Hi,
first of all, follow this tut to go back to clean 2.1 eclair.
Now you know what to do, root, xrecovery etc...
Reboot to xrecovery and FULL WIPE before installing the rom.
No more forse closing :good:
If it didn't work, try to full wipe after the installation(on xrecovery).
Be pleased. I get my phone recovered. Thanks a lot!!! It's now again 2.1. So now I know how to recover it, but just say your opinion - Basically what I need is not so stupid x8 blue color and function which allows to move apps to sd card. Is it worth to write some higher ROM again?

Of course it worths, if it doesn't then why are we here?!
Try what i wrote above.
Now that you know how to recover your phone from softbrick you have nothing to fear, except from hard brick ( this may happen while trying to unlock the bootloader)
Why I am saying that is because now, with original stock rom it works very fast without lagging compared with cyanogenmod 2.2 version which I had before. So Just few more questions - Its just your opinion, I know that there are so many Roms but for you which one is the fastest one and the most stable?
And maybe it's possible to install this Rom with same flashtool?

I can suggest you cm7 roms as they are smooth, bugfree and may have all the features you are looking for.
In order to install a rom on xperia x8 you need cwm or xrecovery(in most cases cwm), and this depends on the rom you are trying to install. To deside what recovery to use just read the installation instructions at the rom thread. So no, you can't install a rom with flashtool.
Everything is clear. Thanks a lot
Hello. This is my final resort. -.-
I used miniCM7-2.2.1. I've tried everything that has been suggested. My X8 hangs up on the Sony Ericsson logo and I cant access the xRecovery menu. To shut my phone down, I have to take out the battery, since it wont shut down when it hangs up no matter how long I hold the power button. Then I insert the battery again; but when I connect the USB cord, it starts up automatically and then hangs up again. I've tried flashing it but it wont detect in flash mode even if the led is green. so no luck on flashing. I tried SEUS but it says I already have the latest software installed so no luck in updating either. Somebody help! T.T
SUMMARY:
-Hangs up on logo screen
-Cant access xRecovery
-Doesnt detect flash mode (even when led is green)
-SEUS cant upgrade since latest software is installed
PLEASE HELP!
do you have pcc and x8 drivers installed? try rebooting your pc and attempt to flash again. you should be able to get into flash mode. also install gg drivers.
also, i can't quite remember, but doesn't minicm7 require a custom kernel?
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

only seus, pcc,or flashtool.. since you can't get into recovery.
i got it flashed. i figured i'd insert the battery after i plugged into pc. then i flashed it with a stock rom for e16i. worked like a charm. however, i still havent found the right custom rom yet. does anyone has any suggestions?
Dear bro, don't PANIC! its the only thing that makes us to create a bit useless threads..
try with Flashtool second time!
and if doesn't work use PC COMPANION its your best Companion
repair the X8 via PC COMPANION
- Turn off the phone, and unplug it from the PC !
- On your PC, uninstall Sony PC Companion
- Restart your PC
- On your PC, clean any Cache and Registry related to Sony PC Companion, then restart PC again.
- Reinstall Sony PC Companion by downloading it from here
- Turn on Sony PC Companion on your PC
- In Sony PC Companion, enter the Support Zone tab
- Go to Update Phone Software
A window will pop out, saying that it cannot find your phone
- Click on Fix Phone
- Click on Continue
A window will pop out, saying that you will lose all your data
- TICK the BOX
- Click on continue
An update process will began.
Wait for it to show a window with all the SONY mobile phones
- Find your phone (X8)
- Click on the phone.
Now all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions. It will tell you to hold the back button and plug your turned-off X8 to the PC, then it will erase everything, and download the original 2.1 ROM to your X8.
If Sony PC Companion STILL doesn't recognize your X8, then, uninstall Sony PC Companion AGAIN, and start the above described process AGAIN. It WILL eventually work!

Well, I can tell you that I had a similar experience recently and I almost **** my pants. After having occupied the restroom, PCC worked for me absolutely perfectly, albeit I did have some problems installing the necessary drivers (had to do it from a different machine, obviously something in the registry was messed up).
Seeing you solved the problem, I recommend you install either a 2.2 or 2.3 ROM. Don't go for 4.x ones if you're up for normal use because they are way too strong for this little device (kudos to the developers who made these ROMs happen, though).
My recommendations:
2.2 - FroyoPro v2.5
2.3 - GingerDX v031b
Both work really well with custom kernels, and are very fast and stable.
My X8 has also the same problem, It hangs up in the logo screen and I cant go into the Flashmode, If I can only go into the Flashmode I have already fixed it, but my X8 opens up every time I plug it in my computer. Can anyone help me with this problem?

OK,assuming you have probably root the phone, by the way can you managed to go into recovery mode in your phone? If so, then just copy your rom zip files into the SD card and install zip files from SD card in the recovery mode. By the which Rom and Recovery you are using?
