hey everyone, i can't install any other custom roms except for floyo, and gingerdx,
i've tried other roms like, kuyadroid, gingerxperia, gingercruzt, etc,, still no good.. xrecovery says that .zip file cannot be installed, or update baseband version, but i already have the latest baseband! (xx015) , i don't know whats wrong with this phone (w8), anyone help please? i'd appreciate it
I think taht all ROMs are not support W8
same to me..I'm using SE W8 and only can install 2.3.3gingerbread-v1
I don't know what wrong here...but b4 this I can enjoy 2.3.7...and now when I try to go with 2.3.7 again my W8 stuck at SE logo more than 10miniutes..
and I tried with other rom's and got the same problem (please update baseband to xx015 first)
that mean SE w8 not support gingerbread only
any Idea?
I also can't not install GingerExperia v11......
2nd problem I had is when I tried to using my backup file from Xrecovery eror (MD5sum not match)
any Idea??
thanks
1st thing my 2nd problem fixed
(I went to Comsat bcoz my W8 stucked at SE word)
Maybe they do totally factory reset or something else, I tried with SEUS, and SEPC (this SEUS and SEPC I only done 3times then I can't restore or settle my W8 using this thing anymore.)
Tried with other Computer or laptop still ca't fix my problem
Then B4 I pay money to other dealer I went to Comsat (the company provide warranty)
(now I can restore my backup files)
OK now back to main problem here!!
Good new for we all
Let try this (found by myself)
But we need someone to share....
share what??
share backup file
that mean when you do a backup (this is what we need..)
then share with user who can't install or flash beauty rom
so we need to open new thread to share backup file for ROM
Little bit BZ rite now and Slow internet connection..
I promise I'll upload and shared my 2 backup files latter when I working on night shift (Bcoz Internet very fast at my office)
1-Ginegerbread 2.3.3v1
2-GingerDX V17

i know some roms are backup files, you just restore them( floyo, gingersense, etc. from racht), then yehey. i already have the gingerdx v17, i just wanted to try those other roms for comparison, thanks by the way
This getting stuck at the logo happened to me as well. Looks like you need to plug the phone to Flashtool and flash a generic w8 firmware.
as for the CM7's, has anyone of you tried to install the Gingerbread ROM AFTER flashing Floyo? What is the error message that pops up?

i tried it, nothing happened, the installation was successful for me
Why dont you try the flashtool thingy.? But I dont know whether the firmware for w8 still exist!
Anyways, you should be able to flash a X8 firmware and start from scratch, and then re-install the ROMs you want.
Hey guys ,
i had the cmmini mod 7 that was realsed by cm dev team and for some reason i decided to get rire of it and try the latest mini cm7 2.1.5 listed here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362585
i didnt run the the nAa kernal befolre instalation and my phone was stuck at the spining logo. after flashing with x10 flasher i was able to boot into the OS but my celluar didnt work ( att us ) basicly i had wifi but my sim card was recocnized but couldnt connect to the towers
I tried to use Xrecovery included in that ROM to reflash and clear userdata/Cache but the SD card wouldnt mount.
I tried using shell to mount Sd card and Chmod 777 it, it seemed sucsesful but Xrecovery was unable to mount ones again....
Sony Erricson's tool doesnt recocnize my phone, i get a "no firmware avaliable yet" message so i am stuck with x10 flasher for now.
i am able to use x10 flasher and use this guide to get into an OS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12442257#post12442257
but after many flashes i was sucessful but the says model number E15i, but behinde battery it says 15A which is not good. , im on firmware 1.6 not 2.1
and kernel is listed 2.6.26 [email protected] , baseband is listed as unknown.
i was hoping to root, then install busy box and Xrecovery with CWmod then be able to flash using zip file but superclick says i am rooted and busy box instalation from market place and WIFI says it doesnt have root acess.
At this point this is what i am asuming:
i updated the wrong baseband and thats why i couldnt connect to my carrier and unlocked bootloader is messing up the sony erricson software. i have tried flashing so many difffrent versions i probably have lots of confused firmwares working toghter. at this point i think i will exhaust the flash write cycle in next few days
so far i am unsusesful in finding correct 15A 2.1 stock ROM, and correct baseband. they are lots of Zip files but non that are .TFT that the x10 flasher can read.
in extensive search on XDA i found this link with lots of firmwares and basebands
http://www.mediafire.com/?d3pobqqc3py66
no luck so far
please help me , i never been so confused in my life
i have the Android SDK ready to go with all updates in case some shell push pulling is nessesary. any recovery APK i try downbload with QR scaner fails because i am on android 1.6
Wouldn't've happened with reading before doing ...
The E15i baseband is for the regions according to European GSM/UMTS standards.
The E15a baseband is for regions according to Northern American GSM/UMTS standards.
If you flashed your phone with the E15i baseband it's not exactly a great wonder that you can't connect "to the tower" (or mobile network, which would be the way better term). To make the phone work in the US you need to flash the E15a baseband.
Anyway, at first you better get yerself Flashtool 0.2.9.1.
The newer 0.5.x.x versions really didn't do it for me.
Then you get yerself the E15a version 015 baseband FTF file.
Once you got the right baseband you download the SEMC Stock Android 2.1.1.C.0.0 FTF file.
Extract Flashtool to C:\Flashtool and put the .FTF files into C:\Flashtool\Firmwares.
Power off your X8, start Flashtool, select the baseband FTF as the first file you want to flash and then connect your phone in Flash-Mode as Flashtool tells you.
Once you flashed the correct baseband you repeat the procedure with the actual Android OS FTF.
When done you should have a working, and booting, Stock ROM on your phone again.
If it worked - Flashtool can root your phone and inject xRecovery.
EDIT: The ROM is not exactly related to the baseband. While there ARE Flashtool bundles that contain the baseband, the 2.1.1.C.0.0 FTF I linked you above does NOT come with a baseband - that's why you need to download that one extra and flash it first.
Oops, ignore

If you try in SEUS you need to proceed like you would do in Flashtool ... Turn the phone OFF, make sure it is NOT connected to the computer (though, let the USB attached to the phone), trigger the "Repair" function and connect the phone in Flash-Mode (HOLDING the Back button while connecting the phone to the computer) when SEUS asks you to.

Strange ... I used the 2.1.1.C.0.0 file I linked you to recovery my X8 just a few weeks ago. Things worked out perfectly; no "Exclamation mark" or whatever else.
Unless one the FTFs got broken during the download it should work.
You have to unlock the bootLoader

then flash the suitable kernel
then flash the rom u prefer
miniCM7.1.5 needs nAa kernel ( i think )
and thanks " B.Jay " for the inf.
You can try Wotan Client for repair...Google it
thanks for many replies
SEUS didnt work for me in FLASH mode. i was however able to use a rom that SEUS reconzised as 2.0 XXXXX and updated and repaired.
Unfornatley the sim card still wont register. I belive something in the bootloader process messed up my device.
I can see the carrier under manual mode, but when pressing ATT it takes about 1 minute and says " cannot register this sim on network" i tried with another SIM same issue.
Do u guys have any ideas of what i should do? i am on a windows phone from 7 years ago and i am too broke to buy a phone. At this point i am willing to try anything because sony errison USA support sucks they told me it can take a month for me to even know if they will repair it and when i can have the phone back
THANK YOU ALL!
Relocking bootloader will fix this but you cant able to install custom kernels...
But remember relock the bootloader only if you are on stock kernel..

Assuming you meanwhile managed to flash the required E15a baseband the question would be ...
The SIM you're using - did you previously activate the SIM on the X8 with the default stock firmware or did you pull the SIM out of another phone and simply put it into the X8?
In the first case (phone and SIM got activated before you ran into problems) it should work; at least I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't. In the second case (SIM from some old phone put into the X8) you need to call ATT and have them activate the new SIM/phone combination. I'm pretty sure they won't be happy with you as they don't have much love for "3rd party" devices not containing the ATT customizations.

How can I repair the X8 smartphone? with flashtool and generic firmware?
where can I find that software?

Really?
Well, in this case I assume my X8 must possess special powers as I restored through Flashtool with a LOCKED boot loader (which, according to what you wrote, is deemed impossible).
Now... to make sense...
You can ONLY restore a Flashtool ROM image that doesn't contain the "baseband" (read: the Stock Kernel and related parts) for as long as the boot loader is locked.
However, there are some Stock 2.1 ROM images (such as the 2.1.1.C.0.0 FTF) for the X8 that only contain the ROM but not the "baseband" part - that one can be easily flashed with locked boot loaders (of course you have to run on the Stock Kernel ... if not, then the boot loader is unlocked anyway and flashing back a fully-contained FTF, or the separate baseband FTF, isn't a problem either).
Also note that if the "Repair" function of PC Companion just throws a "No update available" message you'll have to resort to Flashtool.
EDIT: As for the recommendation to unlock the boot loader ... this is lacking that sweet little WARNING that trying to unlock a X8/W8 made at 11W29, or later, will turn the device into hard brick at a 99% probability. Find the "Warning ahead of bootloader unlock" thread and read up on it.
To check if your phone would be safe for boot loader unlocking: Turn off the phone, take out the battery, look at the sticker below ... and if it's at, or past, 11W29 (Week 29 of 2011) then you well better don't even try.

You can only flash stock kernels and stock ROMs on a locked bootloader! Why would you confuse someone who clearly hasn't a clue. SEUS will apply the lastest update hence restoring a bricked phone. You went into flashing a stock ROM with no links or nothing to backup what you are saying. If i was new to this i wouldnt even look at your post because it wouldnt make any sense. You have "baseband" also in your post and not explaining what a baseband is. Even if someone HARDBRICKS you can still restore the phone. You just need the balls to open your phone or send it off to someone who will. YOU CAN NEVER REALLY BRICK A PHONE!! His main question was "where can I find that software?". Edit your post slowface!

Oh wow ... seems the one having no idea is rather you.
Well, here's the file collection out of my backups on Minus as I'm too lazy to dig up the threads for you...
SEMC Stock 2.1.1.C.0.0 FTF (no baseband)
SEMC X8 E15i Baseband 015 FTF
SEMC X8 E15a Baseband 015 FTF
SEMC Stock Kernel 2.6.29 FTF (Kernel ONLY!)
Here's your proof that there's a Stock ROM FTF you can flash into a locked boot loader X8 simply because it does not contain the baseband/kernel ... they are extra downloads (i.e. for restoring back to Stock from a custom Kernel).
I also linked the barenaked Kernel without the baseband parts, just to show you that even this thing exists.
The next time you try to play smart ass do your research first - you will find the things I linked above right here in ancient threads.
Anyway, I don't feel like I need to explain myself to you.

EDIT: SOLVED THANKS TO damir87
Ok guys, after a lot of research and messing up I ended up needing to ask for help.
I started trying to install cyanogen mod 9 (Android 4.0.3) where everything was going fine, but when I flashed the kernel with the "Custom Gingerbread kernel nAa-11" and installed the cyanogen 9 ROM with xRecovery, but when I started the phone (And it's still like this ATM) after the Sony Ericson logo, it appears the XPERIA logo with the lighting animation, it does the animation about 3 - 4 times and freezes after that and stays there, sometimes it does the animation 3 times, disappears and appears the logo again and then freezes.
I realized this happened because I didn't unlock bootloader. I can actually check the bootloader and I get the message that says it's locked but you can unlock it but to unlock it I have to have it turned on with USB debugging on.
Also, sometimes when I try to flash it again, after connecting it and the green light turning on it says I have plugged the device in flash mode, then it says I unplugged it and tells me that an error occurred, then the phone boots up by it-self.
BTW I'm a bit newbie in the section of "flashing" and the kernel and the baseband stuff, I'm not sure if with flashing, you flash the kernel, the baseband, or the ROM it-self, or even if you can install a ROM with the flashtool with the phone on flashmode.
BTW I can't access xRecovery.
- SEUS Says my phone is already up to date and all I can do is click finish.
- PCC Says there's not software available for my phone.
WHAT WOULD BE PERFECT TO FIX THIS:
A way to change the ROM to the android 2.1.1.C.0.0 without booting the phone(in flash mode).
HOW I SOLVED IT
-I simply downloaded this stock ROM (2.1.1.C.0.0): http://www.mediafire.com/?eca0sualnao4c4c
-Then just used flashtool V0.2.9.1 (I think it's important that you use that exact version): https://rapidshare.com/#!download|5...|62602|R~5490459C5764641D4665C046409A620A|0|0
(Sorry for rapid**** host, couldn't get any better)
After that it took the phone about 5~ mins to start up after the 2nd SE logo.
Again thanks to damir87!

Did you try PC Companion to repair the phone?
If so... do you know how to do that? I'm saying this because I bricked my phone once and I didn't knew hot to use th "repair" option. Only after a big search I found a step by step tutorial on how to do that...
Hey all,
I recently got my Xperia SP and I tried a few custom roms, but for now I want to stick to the stock rom until 4.3 is released. I used Sony's PC companion tool to revert back to the stock rom before (if I wanted to try a new rom), but suddenly I got the message that PC Companion is not supported by Windows 8 anymore (which seems really odd) and it detects my device as a C5302 instead of a C3503 (this happened after flashing this rom: HonamiUltraizeD - White Edition)...
Does anyone know what could have happened, or how to revert it?
And if I revert back to the stock rom using the Companion tool with repair support, does that give me a stock phone that has no traces of being rooted or used whatsoever?
Thanks for your help guys!
Greetings,
Rayquinox

You just need to find FTF for your Xperia SP and flash it via FLASHTOOL. You can find both in general/development section.
To work with PC companion, you will need to relock bootloader if unlocked and you will need to revert back to STOCK ROM.
If you still have any queries, do not hesitate to ask!

My bootloader is still locked, and I used the PC companion before to restore the settings (with the repair tool) on custom roms: that is not the problem... I can't use the repairtool on Windows 8 is what bothering me. And regarding the FTF files, do I need to get the files for a C5303 or a C5302 now?
Again, may thanks

My bootloader is still locked, and I used the PC companion before to restore the settings (with the repair tool) on custom roms: that is not the problem... I can't use the repairtool on Windows 8 is what bothering me. And regarding the FTF files, do I need to get the files for a C5303 or a C5302 now?
Again, may thanks

You will need to use FTF for your phone, the one on your box /region. if you remember which one you had is perfectly normal. Both versions have everything same but basebands. Flash any while skipping basebands in flashtool will work perfectly too.
Usually your phone model is in settings about phone, however flashing roms can change it as they replace build.prop.
Flashing will remove all your data /root/recovery.
As far as windows 8 is concerned, try reinstalling pc companion.
Another trick is to go into properties of pc companion on pc n select run application in windows 7 etc.
good luck
I try to reinstall my software at xperia zr via pc companion and it shows me this message,''THERE IS NO SOFTWARE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR PHONE'',i have rooted my phone,is this a promblem, because i had contact with sony support and said to me that if i cant repair my phone via pc companion there is a damage in my phone.Any suggestions. Please help me,thank you.

Try using flashtool to flash a FTF. The kernel will be reinstalled and this is very likely to fix your phone.
And where can i find my original kernel for 4.4.2 kitkat for xperia zr?Thank you.

Nope, that means u cant unlock bootloader.. If u want to repair ur phone then use Sony Update Service instead of PC Companion.. Or search & download 4.4.2 firmware ftf file & flash it using flashtool...

I search at internet and i find that 4.4.2 for c5503 was only released at nordic countris hong kong and taiwan. So i find the nordic version i install it with flashtool and then i tried again to repair my phone via pc companion, before his in the installation of pc companion i select as country region Sweden which is one of the nordic countries, but still i get the same message fro pc companion and i cant repair my phone with the original way.Maybe sony doesnt released yet 4.4.2 kitkat for Greece, because i think that however which sony gives you the right in the installation of pc companion to choose the country region automatiically spots you and select the rights that you have over your device. If im wrong at my thoughts let me know.Thank you,im waiting for your answers.

may b u r right. Sony would have not released software for your region yet.
I searched in Xperia firmware checker tool by IaguCool ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142)
I select Xperia ZR 5503 in left side panel, then i see list of available versions. In that I saw 1274-1395 Nordic combined 10.5.A.0.230/R2D. On extreme right side u have download links.

Did you know maybe what means r3d or r2d at firmwares? And also that files from the program that you recommend me are not ftf right?

The tool is an exe file which checks the firmwares for most Xperia phones and gives latest ftf files for download. r2d and r3d are just different versions of same build. nothing much changed except a line in build.prop
