Just a thank you to all service men and women, Firefighters, Law Enforcement, and all who risk their lives to keep us safe. Also, to the heroes that prevented further destruction on flight 93.
I hope we all take a moment tomorrow to remember those that lost their lives on 9|11.

On 9/12, I'll mourn the nearly 1,000,000 lives, the 10's of millions of injuries, the infrastructural decimation in 3 countries, and the humiliation of my religion, all perpetrated ignorantly in the name of my country."
Not sure who said either, but I like them both.

I agree. Let us not forger about ALL the innocent lives that were lost. Here and there. Many more 'there.' And I'm not even talking about people serving our country. 9/11 was terrible, but so has been the response.

And how could retaliation for such an act of terrorism be anything but terrible ??
Can you morons with your anti-war blinders just go away, just for today, please? This is about remembering those lost a decade ago, not discussing how bad you think the response was, or how the US Government is also terroristic.
Start your own thread about the merits of the altercation in the desert. But please, in this thread, just shut the **** up.

Sorry, but I don't believe that this was somehow justified, or the only response, and I'm not sure how you can justify the response to what was a terrible event in NYC.
Its not about 'being terrible' in terms of a response. Its about going into places we didn't need to go and responding by killing countless numbers of innocent women, children and innocent people as a whole.
You can't justify the response. In any way. 9/11 was terrible. What has happened since has been just as much so.

M_T_M closed the last thread saying it would lead to gun control arguments or something, although nothing like that was ever mentioned. He asked nobody create a new thread about it so just a heads up he will probably close this one too. That said, I have been thinking about the families and those affected all day. I have a friend that just moved to CO and first thing I did this morning was call him because I was not sure what part he had moved to exactly.
Edit: Wow at your speed test, that's amazing.
If it needs to be closed all is well.. I just felt like I should do something. The thing I hate most about this life is that stuff like this happens and there's usually nothing you can do about it.

Believe me we appreciate the sentiment.
I was going to allow it and monitor for any trolling/inappropriate response however I must respect M_T_Ms previous decision and follow suit.
Of course we are all deeply sympathetic and our thoughts go out to those affected, however I would not like to see such a poignant and well intentioned thread ruined by trolls.
Once again though, thankyou for the sentiment.

Hey guys.
I am very curious!!! Because of this girl but she lives in another city that she wants to be in a relationship but I'm like "babygurl hold up, hell nah"
But then I was wondering if it would work or it's just a waste of time???
Not you again.
While only you can truly know if it can work, my experience is no. I say this not because of any experience with a long distance relationship, of which I have had none, of the experiences I've had with regular relationships. I've been married 5 years. Only cause I'm in her life and she is in mine for all this time, had it worked. We are social creatures, we need intimacy and touch for a relationship to last any significant amount of time.
Depends on the both of your abilities.
"What's my problem? You."
I never understood why people even think long distance relationship is even a chance. I mean... Why? How will it ever work? You will not see her in months, that's not the idea of relationship. No, it will not work.

My relationship isn't necessarily long distance, but it is. We live an hour away from eachother & we both have jobs with completely different hours. I works days & he works nights. We see eachother every other weekend & talk on the phone as much as we can. We have ups & downs like every other couple. Been to together for two & half happy years still going & we are shopping for our first house together
You should know, you're very cool ya know.

Listen to the 7th son of gawd my dear alan.
How do you want to define your relationship and what do you want it to consist of?
Cuddling up watching a movie, dome at the movie theater, long walks, waking up together, looking into each other's eyes over a romantic dinner, intercourse, sharing hobbies and experiences... that all requires a shorter distance (even shorter for the less fortunate).
However, if talking on the phone and occasional visits are all you need, and you're both fine if it never changes, go for it.
Remember, all relationships prior to your first marriage are practice for that marriage. Don't let things get serious that don't need to be. If you feel you're going to end up marrying someone, be cautious and completely certain before letting it get serious. Otherwise, it's all for fun. If it won't at least be fun, don't do it.

Ahhhh @VeryCoolAlan. Do you want the answer you want, the answer a joker would give you, or my answer, otherwise known as the truth?
I'll put mine here for the sake of history.
If someone says it will and it does, then they were right.
If someone says it won't and it doesn't, then they were right.
Neither of the above people knew the truth. They just gave an opinion which is irrelevant to the actual outcome.
It may work. It may not.
If you don't try, you'll never find out. It may be beautiful and last your whole life, or it may be torturous and cause you heartbreak and agony.
It's your risk.
It's your choice.

You have to ask a mod to delete it. Maybe you can report it and ask for it to be deleted. Dont know if you can report your own thread though..
A man escapes from a prison after 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money, jewelry and guns. Inside he finds a young couple in bed. He forces the man out of the bed and ties him to a chair. While tying the wife to the bed, the convict gets on top of her and kisses her neck, then gets up and goes to the bathroom.
While he's in there, the husband tells his wife: "Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is obviously very dangerous, if he doesn't get his way he will most likely kill us both. Be strong honey, i love you.
To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He was whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we kept any Vaseline in the bathroom. I told him where to find it. Be strong honey. I love you too!
