none, although there is some DSP manager and voodoo control, but i doubt they are causing it, as they are just settings apps

Hello,
I got a samsung galaxy S and just updated to froyo 2.2. I noticed that 2.2. installed some new apps. There's one app called task panel or task manager where you can set the ram Niv 1 & 2 etc. I think this program is causing the following problem :
I listen to audio courses on the phone. When i go to work i pause the course to pick up where i left off later. The problem is that since i installed froyo 2.2. sleep mode shuts down the mp3 player so that i got to start the course (30min) all over again. Before the update sleep mode didn't affect the MP3 player.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thx!
I had a problems with music player on froyo too. Try to switch to another music player from market. All problems are gone.

I'm struggling with the same problem and I don't want to install another player because the stock one is perfect, except for this problem.
Have you found a solution yet?
Install Music Mod from market. JUST DO IT
I just installed gingerbread xxjvk 2.3.3 on my galaxy s and then wanted to listen some music. but when i locked my screen my phone totally crashed and needed to hold the power button to reset. I tried it while playing from internal and external storage. and with eq on and off. i found out it didnt crash while browsing my storage and clicking a song and then play it. it only crashes if i search and play a song in the player itself. Plz help me i need my music
greetings jaap from the netherlands
I assume the music player's version is not prepared for gingerbread or that beta firmware has a problem with the way your player wants to search/open a file. Try a different one, for example PowerAMP is a great player!
It works. but i get an annoying clicking sound while playing sounds. i tried winamp to but it has the clicking sound to. So i solved one problem, and the next one appears
Trials and tribulations of running non stock/beta firmware i am afraid .

Where can i get the original rom from galaxy s?
samfirmware.com has all the official firmwares you may need. by the way in my opinion go for a cooked froyo firmware with speedmod or voodoo kernel as they have significant improvements over sound quality via voodoo app from market (needs compatible kernel) and also they're more stable.
This happens on my HD2 as well when sound is distorting due to to loud and gain. Maybe this helps in finding a solution in Gingerbread for this issue. Great rom though!
Fat.

Are you using Beautiful Widgets by chance?
Has anyone else had this problem:
When I restart my phone in miui it 'loses' all the music on the phone so that it is no longer visible in the music or winamp apps. If I force an sd-card rescan however the music will once again become visible.
Is there a fix for this as it is becoming quite the pain in the ass, as it means that following a restart my phone requires about 10-15 mins before it able to play any music
Did you try the internal to ext sd mod in the android development section?

I know its silly, but do you happen to have .mkv files in your internal/external sd? try removing them and see for yourself, it will work(sound will not be gone), seems like, a lot have not noticed that the recent release of MIUI has this bug
Was wondering if anyone has had this problem that i have and if there is a fix for it. I am using the stock rom and when i play podcasts or music in general in any app i want to multitask and research what im listening to but honeycomb seems to kill the task and its stock nothing to make it do it i want it to play audio in background while im surfing the browser or other areas but it just kills task.
That might depend on the app. I know that TuneIn Radio will play in the background. In fact, at first I wondered why it didn't stop.

guessing thats normal then since it doesnt do it in other apps. i tried doggcatcher and beyondpod but it kills them must be an app problem but they say its not. oh well
Maybe you need to change priority of your app to Foreground? But sound likes really this app doesn't support playing in backgr

I'm not a heavy podcast listener- but for what it's worth-
I use the google listen app for the ones I do listen to...it works for listening while browsing... I'm running stock HC on my ds7 as well.
the ram for the dell streak 7 available is only 256mb, and HC 3.2 was setup so that it automatically close the task in background if it run out of memory.
the only fix is that go to development in settings menu and uncheck the box "close background apps"
Im on Existenz 2.0.0 with root and unlocked BL
when i listen to music the walkman app automatically pauses every 4 mins and i make sure that i cleared all recent apps and that i dont use any force close ram mangers
i posted this in the thread of the rom but no one helped me so im hoping that anyone could help me here
Pauses or stops and needs to be reopend again?
Because I have'nt seen any reports about the walkman application pausing everytime but I do know about the RAM problems of the SP where the Walkman app gets closed.

i think it pauses because when i open the screenn i see the notification of the application being paused
also the ram problems occur when people browse and listen to music but i listen to music while my phone screen is off
Do you have to restart the song from the beginning or has it seleted another one? If so then it might me closed due to RAM problems.

acctually to be precise the song stops because when i start it again it starts from the beginning and how do i have ram problems when i close all the recent apps and i make sure that i have 160 mg free ram
Well sometimes you cant help it. It is a known issue with this device.
You can always wipe data of the walkman application and test again.

there must be something to fix it
You could try a factory reset of that ROM and test the walkman app without any other applications to see if it is app related or not.

tried and still the same
Reflash the ROM is the only thing I can suggest at the moment.

I also experienced such glitches with music interruptions, i'm using walkman and V4A when using my phone as mp3 player. I found SOME SORT of solution and that its -- UNINSTALL ANY SD CARD TWEAKS such as SD read ahead speed or set it to device default. I suspect that maybe the tweak isn't needed coz i'm using Class-10 SDcard and applying such tweaks might be "SUPERFLOUS" and thus causing issues with music playback.
But then if still you get no better results...last option would be to USE ANOTHER ROM and uninstall the later. Just my opinion:fingers-crossed:
