Can see wireless network, but not connecting - HTC Incredible S

I am running CyanogenMod 7.1, and am experiencing problems with the Wi-Fi connection recently. I have been able to connect to my router fine in the past.
Currently when I turn on Wi-Fi it will show "scanning" and show the network that I would like to connect to. I have entered the correct WPA2 key but it does not connect automatically. If I press on the network and choose "Connect", nothing happens.
I have been able to use other wireless networks, and this one in particular has worked in the past. This seems to be an issue between the phone and router, but I have no idea what could be causing it. Other computers are able to connect to this network fine.
Also, when I deliberately enter the wrong password and attempt to connect, nothing happens. I do not receive an error about having the wrong password.
Any ideas as to what might be happening?
Thanks

Having trouble connecting to wireless

Hi,
I've got an Alpine and all the ROMs are simple out-of-the-box as from O2 back in september.
Previously, I would use it to connect to the wireless network in my university. I would turn on the wifi then select the network to connect me to the internet and then enter the wireless key we have been provided with.
However, now it just stays on 'scanning network' and doesn't prompt me to choose a network or enter any key. Sometimes it claims that an IP has been assigned, but it doesn't progress past this. I have tried soft resetting and changing the wifi from 'best battery' to 'best performance'. I have also tried being really near the router.
My friends can access this network just fine on their laptops, and when I run WiFiFoFum it shows up just fine. I am pretty certain the router is a 802.11g one, and I can't tell if it's been changed since I could access it before.
My problem is I know virtually nothing about WiFi, so I don't know how to troubleshoot this. I was hoping someone could give me a bit of help?
Thanks.
try this.
turn wifi on
go to settings
connections
network cards
see if you have networks listed, if u do delete them.
turn off wifi and turn back on again so it searches. see if it picks up the network.
Failing that what IP is it showing u, if its assigned one??

Mr Clean ROM and Wifi problems

My wifi connected no problem on older ROMS, now it will only connect with the security on my router disabled. If I try to set it to WPA or WEP, it finds the connection but won't connect. I don't really wont to turn off the security everytime I want to use my wifi.
I have a Belkin F5D7632-4 Wireless-G DSL router.
i have the same issue here, it say "connectin" but never connect.
But it does connect without the security? check your authentication method and make sure that what you have on your phone matches your router. I actually did this a while back, and it was driving me insane cause it wouldn't connect. Hope that helps you guys out.
Using WEP on a 802.11g and it works fine for me.
At first I didn't get any options to set the key but once the network was detected I was able to go into "network cards" and put in my key. Works fine with that.

Wi-Fi problem

I have a brand new tilt that I got last night and I am unable to connect to my wireless network. When I enable wi-fi in my Wireless Manager, it prompts me to connect to my router or to my PS3. I choose my router, set it to connect to 'Work' (used to do this on WM2003/WM5) and enter my WEP key.
After the WEP key is entered, I see that it is connecting, but then it just goes back to the network being available.
I have tried changing the wireless power to high, deleted the settings and re-entered them. Rebooted the phone with a hard reset, as well as my router, and I am still unable to connect.
Any thoughts?
what about setting it to connect to "The Internet" instead of Work? that's how i have mine and it works flawlessly...
I get the same results. In 'Start' > 'Settings' > 'Connections' > 'Wi-Fi' I see the network I want to connect to. I highlight it and click 'Connect' and it says 'Connecting' for a few moments. Instead of moving to 'Connected' it just goes back to saying 'Available'.
I have tried every combination of 'Work' or 'The Internet' that I can find, and still no luck. I tried connecting to a neighbor's unsecured wireless network and got the same results, so I know it's not the WEP. On a side note, my Dell Axim X50 with WM5 connects to both networks just fine.
this happens to my phone every so often but a soft-reset or cycling the WiFi in the comm manageer usually fixes it...
Unfortunately, that hasn't worked for me. I have done soft resets, hard resets, and still it doesn't want to work. I'm going to try at my office tomorrow when I get there and see if that makes a difference, but I don't have high hopes at the moment.
I've read that some routers might be problematic, so I am wondering if anyone has tried the Linksys WRT100N with their Tilt. If so, was there anything special that was done to get it working?
same exact problem with my wi-fi... except the 1st day i got my tilt, the wi-fi was working flawless while hooked up through usb to my laptop.. now its not working at all. It just tries to connect and nothing happened. I may even have the same exact router lol. Its an old linksys
I think it's the Wireless-N router at home. I am at work on a WAP54G and it's working fine. PIE launches, I can see my network and Pocket Putty hits the servers I need it to. Unfortunately, that means I get to mess with the router at home, but fortunately it means there is nothing wrong with the tilt.

WI-FI Problem

Hi, I'm having troubles with my Nook's wireless connection.
I have CM7 on it.
It isn't connecting at all on the networks, sometimes when I try to connect, what I do, is to "forget" the network that I want to connect to, and then I try to connect it mannually.
But that usually doesn't works.
What can I do?

Normally I wouldn't reply if I didn't have any real idea how to solve your problem, but no one seems to be responding so I'll give it a shot.
I googled it for you... Someone who has a similar problem with their Nook fixed it by going into their routers settings and cloning their computers MAC address. Maybe they had a computer hooked up to their network and needed to register its MAC address with their ISP? Who knows?
Someone else fixed it by manually entering the network information settings on the Nook to use a static IP instead of obtaining it automatically.
Try connecting to a network at like a Barnes and Noble or something and see if it works there to rule out problems with your home network.

HTC one mini 2 wifi problem

Hi i am having a strange problem with my phone connecting to my WiFi at home on my phone. I find it will not stay connected to my router. I put the WPA2 code in and my phone says connected then it forgets the network and asks me for the code again. My phone connects to WiFi at work so i thought it was my router but my computer and Xbox work fine still on-line. It just seem to be a problem between my phone and router. I have tried lots of things from hard resetting my phone to changing the security on my router and resetting it I am now at the point where i am at a loss and have no idea how to resolve my problem. I have updated the software on my phone but still no joy Does anyone out there have the same problem or able to advise
Thanks
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant for you, so I will have your thread moved to your device section. ?

I'm not sure but I read somewhere this is a bug in the htc software. You can fix it by having a wpa code shorter the 6 characters I believe. Or maybe try changing to other wifi security protocol

If your phone connects at work with no problems, than its not the phone. The problem will be between the connection to your router. If changing protocol dint work, you can try open network (No pass, just for testing) if connects then its the security.
You can also check in wi-fi advance settings "wi-fi frequency band" its set to auto.
