Disable car mode? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Today my phone has randomly started activating car mode. It will flock on for seconds at a time or just stay on for good.
It will happen as I swipe screens or just tap an app.
Any ideas? Can't see a car mode app in system in Titanium anywhere.
Thanks

[Q] Blank screen while phone is on

Seen a couple of blank screen questions but I don't think any are the same as mine.
I have had the phone less than 2 weeks. Yesterday I thought the phone had crashed/switched its self off as the screen went blank so I took the battery out and put it back in and on it came. It then did this again a bit later on. It's now done it 4 times today. If I ring the phone it still rings but the screen stays blank and it does not even vibrate which I have set.
I have realised that if I hold the power button for long enough the phone resets and the screen comes back on. I have not rooted or touched the phone in anyway, yet. Its version 4.04 and build number IMM76D.XXLRK
Any Ideas?
have you installed any power saving apps or any task killers for automatic ram recovery ?
I have es task manager and the widget on my home screen to kill apps, no power saving apps downloaded. I noticed yesterday that the power saving mode in the settings was on and flashed up so I switched this off and it has only happened again once this afternoon so not sure if that was doing something?

Uninstall es task manager see if problem persists.

Also regular killing of apps might cause the issue. Make sure the auto kill is not enabled. Thus not causing any vital apps to restart. Test agaib
check your proximity sensor
*#0*# --> sensor
hold your hand above the proximity sensor is the screen turns green the proximity sensor is on. if you remove your hand the screen should turn white again is not the proximity sensor isn't working correct

'safe mode'

i have 'safe mode' showing in bottom left of my screen. what on earth is it?
Restart the device
I had accidentally put my EVO 4G LTE into Safe Mode once before, and I can't remember how I did it. It's built directly into Android, but should fix itself by restarting the device.
From what I saw the other day when I did it lol. Just starts system apps and certain servicrs

I don't know about the One, but my N7 will ask to boot into safe mode if you hold "Power Off" for a couple of seconds.

Loss of Haptic Feedback on softkeys

Ok, so i have an issue that i havent been able to find any information on. I woke up this morning, and noticed that when i pressed the back or menu button, there was no longer any kind of haptic feedback. The buttons functioned as they were supposed to, but didnt vibrate. I double checked the option for it, then disabled and re-enabled it. That didnt work, so i restarted the phone and it still didnt function.
I ended up doing a full restore and they began working. So, i haven't installed any apps or anything assuming maybe it was an app that caused the issue. I went pretty much all day and it was fine, i got home from work and all of the sudden it stopped functioning again. I just did another restore and its back. This seems more like a software issue as if it was hardware i wouldnt think the keys would work at all, and the haptic feedback works when using the keyboard and such. Has anyone else seen this issue?
BTW my phone is rooted, but i havent done anything else to it.
What was your battery level? If you have Power Saver turned on, it will turn off haptic feedback.

I was just gonna say the same thing. Power saving mode on all Samsung Galaxy devices turns off Haptic feedback completely. And if your a person who is used to haptic feedback it can feel weird when it's off. Pull down your status bar and make sure it's power saving mode is off.
I appreciate the suggestions, but this was on a completely full battery, it had charged all night. The second time it happened it was at about 65%.

Awesome! This fixed my haptic problem and weird screen dim and contrast issue. I guess PSM some how had gotten stuck on for me, although I was charged above the threshold.
It doesn't automatically turn off when you're charged. Annoying as hell.
You should change your thread title to solved.

No, I shouldn't. My problem isn't solved. I clearly stated that my issue hasn't been caused due to a battery issue. I've been fully charged. I've restarted. The only way I've been able to get it back is by a full restore. The issue occurred one more time over the weekend and it's irritating. I went to the store and they aren't wanting to help and telling me if I exchange it when they aren't seeing a problem I'll get charged the restock fee. I'll be calling support tonight I guess.

Did you turn off power saving mode after it turned itself on when your battery died down and was then recharged?

Mine was like you.
go to power saving menu and uncheck the heptic feedback check mark off.
BINGO!
years later, i've found a solution - haptic feedback intensity was turned all the way down, even with the checkbox marked, no haptic feedback is felt at that level.
how it got turned down to zero, i'll never know.
Settings > Sounds and Notifications > Vibration Intensity > Haptic Feedback Slider
...i almost warrantied my phone over this issue...
Hey so let me start off by saying that I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 but I had this problem. I was with a friend and ended up turning on my ultra power saving mode. After that my soft keys stopped lighting up and the haptic feedback stopped working as well. Something small, but extremely annoying. I couldn't find ANYTHING on the infinite labyrinth that is the Internet for some unknown reason and I was straining not to throw my phone out of the car.
However, I've just now been able to finally figure it out and so I'm hoping this post will help with that urge to snap you're smart phone. Anyways I remembered that before ultra power saving mode I had put it at the regular power saving mode. I tried turning UPSM on and off again, I restarted my phone countless times, anything else you can think of it tried. BUT what ended up finally working is turning power saving mode on, giving it a second, and then turning it off.
Hopefully that works for you too.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been trying to figure that out for so long. I wasn't sure because it happened on multiple roms. This time haptic feedback turns off with battery saver mode. I usually have power save on our phones don't lack performance on it. Wish I could enable haptic feedback with it on. This was the first result on Google. Thanks bro!

I have a similar problem. After I have replaced the Mainboard, the back key lose the vibration feedback. Only the back key.... Any ideas?

[Q] problem with auto rotation

My htc one enters car mode automatically and won't exit it. I tried factory data resetting my phone but it didn't help. Thus my phone enters loudspeaker mode automatically when I place a call. Please somebody provide me with a solution. How can I get rid of this app since this app won't uninstall normally????????
I had this on my old HTC, try blowing out your charging port, might be lint making it think it's docked.

Two Official KK Oddities

I'm seeing two oddities that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I'm stuck on the Official KK after a hardware swap at the local warranty repair center.
1> My phone goes into hands free mode everytime I get into the car and it detects my car stereo/bluetooth ODB II adapter. This is starting S Voice for some reason. I originally had a Tasker task that put my phone into hands free mode, but I've verified that it's disabled. Is there a hidden setting deep inside settings that associates hands free mode with a bluetooth device? I swear I looked all over the settings.
2> Pressing backspace seems to cause the cursor to jump backwards 5-10 characters and delete that character. You fix that mistake and press backspace again and it does the same thing, all the way back to the beginning. I thought it was a keyboard bug, but I switched to the Google Keyboard and the same thing is happening. Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks!
Doug
not sure about the first one but for the second check your key press delay in the keyboard advanced settings and make sure it is not too low, pressing and holding the back space key will remove words at a time.
My phone went into hands free mode automatically when I had a location set for my car. Settings\connections\location\my places. I believe the phone identified the car via blue tooth and switched to hands free mode automatically. I removed my car from my places and no more hands free mode coming on automatically.

Thanks! That was it!
It would be nice if I could just stop S Voice from launching on starting Hands Free mode. When I was on a rooted KitKat, I had S Voice frozen and that's why it didn't start then.

Glad you got it sorted out. You can disable S Voice via settings/general/application manager/swipe to all applications/S Voice/and select turn off.
