[Q] problem with auto rotation - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My htc one enters car mode automatically and won't exit it. I tried factory data resetting my phone but it didn't help. Thus my phone enters loudspeaker mode automatically when I place a call. Please somebody provide me with a solution. How can I get rid of this app since this app won't uninstall normally????????

I had this on my old HTC, try blowing out your charging port, might be lint making it think it's docked.

[Q] USB Debugging - off but appearing in notification

I'm using an HTC Incredible S running stock 2.3.3
I have recently encountered a small but annoying issue when connecting to a PC via USB. In the last week or two I decided to switch off USB debugging however despite the box being unticked, the notification for ‘USB Notification connected’ appearing.
Appreciate it’s not the biggest problem in the world, but anyone have any thoughts on how to sort this?
Hi, I had the same issue but it disappeared once I restarted the phone.

Thanks Cray but unfortunately not that simple.
this problem has just suddenly started happening on my phone as well, and it doesn't go away with a restart.
Seemed to have fixed it by switching off fast boot then rebooting to Hboot (hold down power and volume down). Then did a power cycle and put fast boot back on. USB debugging notification has now stopped appearing when it shouldn't be.
having the same issue on my htc incredible s 2.3.3, will try the above method.

Computer do not connect with OB - so I can't restore stock rom! (USB problem?)

Hi,
(First, sorry for my bad english...)
I have a really big problem. My brother's OB has CM7 custom rom, with CWM recovery, so it lost it's warranty. The phone has got some hardware problem, like "silent" speaker at calling, can't connect to computer via usb and the turn on/off button has got hectic working.
Also, my problem:
- when I connect it to any computer at home, to restore the stock rom, I push the volume+ button, and it goes to flashmode, but the computer do not anything with the phone. The drivers are installed, and everything is done, wich is written by the "how-to". Some months earlier, I restored it, and this phone was in service, so I know what I do, but I think it's a hardware problem.
Sometimes the computer recognizes the device as "unkown device".
Has anyone an idea, how to solve my problem? Were there a method to flash V20O via zip file, than remove the recovery without computer?
Thanks for your help,
hornyak2!
Try rebooting the phone itself before connecting?
Same problem here. Now while charging it will not show as charging, i know its getting charged becoz the percent is going up. My solution to power button not working is i put a little cotton near the camera lens and close the case so that it put a little pressure near the usb port. That way the power button works fine. Usb connection n charging still nkt working right. Any help is welcome.

Hello,
In Smartflashtool does COM port shows anything after connecting phone?
No. Pc cannot detect the phone. I think it has somthing to do with the connection on the board which is not soldered but just pressed by the plastic case.

Two Official KK Oddities

I'm seeing two oddities that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I'm stuck on the Official KK after a hardware swap at the local warranty repair center.
1> My phone goes into hands free mode everytime I get into the car and it detects my car stereo/bluetooth ODB II adapter. This is starting S Voice for some reason. I originally had a Tasker task that put my phone into hands free mode, but I've verified that it's disabled. Is there a hidden setting deep inside settings that associates hands free mode with a bluetooth device? I swear I looked all over the settings.
2> Pressing backspace seems to cause the cursor to jump backwards 5-10 characters and delete that character. You fix that mistake and press backspace again and it does the same thing, all the way back to the beginning. I thought it was a keyboard bug, but I switched to the Google Keyboard and the same thing is happening. Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks!
Doug
not sure about the first one but for the second check your key press delay in the keyboard advanced settings and make sure it is not too low, pressing and holding the back space key will remove words at a time.
My phone went into hands free mode automatically when I had a location set for my car. Settings\connections\location\my places. I believe the phone identified the car via blue tooth and switched to hands free mode automatically. I removed my car from my places and no more hands free mode coming on automatically.

Thanks! That was it!
It would be nice if I could just stop S Voice from launching on starting Hands Free mode. When I was on a rooted KitKat, I had S Voice frozen and that's why it didn't start then.

Glad you got it sorted out. You can disable S Voice via settings/general/application manager/swipe to all applications/S Voice/and select turn off.

HTC One does not Turn on, able to get pc connection

My HTC one does not turn on, it just vibrates no sound etc. However i can get a pc connection (adb).
What happened: My battery went down to 0% one week ago, i have sand my phone to a repair shop in order to replace the battery.
Now it came back still unable to power on. However now i can get adb to work and phone vibrates when tring to turn it on.
Any ideas how to get it back working?
EDIT Fastboot also working, but black screen...so is the screen defect?
Any way to get my data off the phone?

Insert sim card in another phone, disable pin.
Put it back in your HTC power it on and call it.
Even if the phone is fully silent you could tell if it rings or not with the phone you call it with.
And so if it rings it is most likely the screen.
Kind regards, Stefan.

Cannot switch between Phone/Speaker/BT in the Phone app.

After some time of using the phone, the Phone app is stuck in the BT mode. No clicking on Speaker or Phone mode will change from the BT mode. This is remedied by rebooting the phone, at which point it is again possible to switch between all 3 modes - BT, Phone or Speaker.
Do you know how to fix this bug.
Thanks.
I figured out some things about this problem:
it has to do with Huawei Watch GT2 Pro, and possibly with using this watch and other BT headsets at the same time.
When the problem occurs, you don't have to reboot. You can do two things.
Pressing the "Hold" button twice cycles between Phone/Speaker/Bluetooth/and back to Phone.
However, making a phone call from the watch and hanging up fixes the problem entirely.
Or at least for a few days - I haven't had to reboot the phone for 3 days, it's working as it should.
