[ROM] MIUI 1.6.17 (Beta 7) 2.3.4 - Easy One Zip Install [6/20/11]

Notice: This is not a stable release, just something fun to play around with. You accept the risk that negative things might happen and that I am not responsible for them. Remember to always back up your important files.
This ROM (1.6.17) was made from the official MIUI 1.6.17 Vibrant version and the Vibrant English translation. I have only merged in the translation and added fixes that have not yet been added into the official Chinese version. It is still in the beta stage.
------------------------------------------
How to Install
Code:
0 - Start from a rooted Eclair/Froyo rom
1 - Download these files:
a) Latest MIUI release (see bottom of post)
2 - Copy the latest MIUI to the SD card.
3 - Enter clockwork recovery
4 - Flash the latest MIUI version
To uninstall MIUI, you should Odin back to stock.
------------------------------------------
What's working?

What's not?
GPS, bugs with this build of MIUI, & the bugs listed in the CM7 thread.

Yes, you have to Odin. Everything that you have to do for installing/uninstalling CM7 applies to this.

hi
its already their look @ no 9
I want clean Vanila 2.2 or 2.3 ROM.
Hi All
Please do forgive me if I come across as being stupid but I only got my LG 2X today and I want to flash a clean 2.2 or even better a 2.3 Vanila ROM.
But I'm very confused as to exactly what I need to do. I understand that I need to root first but dont even know where to root from.
Would someone be kind enough to maybe put together a step by step guide on how to root and then install a ROM please? Or maybe just provide links to each step in the correct order?
I'm sure other users would also find it useful.
I've been using the device for a few hours now and have updated to the latest V10D via LG's software update and have not yet experienced any random reboots etc except for only ONE reboot when I tried to install Swype but that was before the V10D update.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out here. Cheers.
Root:
I used this guide: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=LG_Optimus_2X:_Rooting
Recovery:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=LG_Optimus_2X:_Recovery_and_CyanogenMod
Flash:
With ClockworkMod Recovery you now can boot into recovery (power+vol down)
Here you wipe data and wipe partition and after that you click "flash ROM from SD-card" or something like that, find the ROM on your SD-card and hit it.
Wohoo!
Definitely the best and easiest way to root is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
works for LG stock froyo
i think you should add this to the first post
Could someone please add a note to the first section (or anywhere else they feel it may help) to advise Canadian users? Here in Canada, Wind lists their LG as an Optimus 2X but it is actually a P999. A note pointing them to the P999/T-Mobile forums would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to get a review system going for the roms and patches, so we may get a gauge of battery life, stability and those sorts of things for the different roms, etc?
Sort of like done here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668090
But maybe working off a user review system?....Trying to think of a way to make it fairly accurate, but not involve one poor person running one rom after another over and over to write a review.

I would like this as well. I am looking at flashing a rom with good battery life. There is no direct way of finding out how the battery peformance is in these roms. Everyone always talks about the overclock I just want stable with 2 days battery.
I have got good battery experience with Slick2X ROMs for both Froyo and Gingerbread. I got around 3 days or 1% per hour in sleep mode.
Gingerbread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061532
Problems: Slow GPS fix.
Froyo -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076454
Problems: Well, it is froyo, does not utilize dual-core fully.
Current I use Pauls rooted stock gingerbread ROM, which gives around 2 days between charges.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1328656
Problems: none found yet.
Can everyone please vote, for the ROM or kernel you're using, 1 to 5 in five categories. Stability, Speed, Battery Life, Appearance, Daily use. And i'll compile them and put it on the second post. thank you.

[READ FIRST] Roll-up Thread - Everything Ideos X6

These are all important threads about modding your IdeosX6 & variants
ie Cherry Mobile Magnum HD A400,Spice CSL Mi 410,WellcoM A99,CSL Blueberry Mi 410 etc.
The following content is very important. Read and understand it like your life and that of your phone depended on it. All beginners are required to have this basic knowledge before doing anything with their phone. To get software/cwm/stuff please follow links further below.
The GOLDEN rule.
"There exists a delicate balance between the flasher and the flashed, which when disturbed will result in utter chaos and total annihilation of mortals"
For newbs : The kernel of the ROM you wish to flash should correspond to the kernel/CWM already installed.
i.e. SUT => KERNEL <=> CWM
If you want to:
=> Flash a stock ROM or any .nb0 file
1. Install the appropriate version of SUT ie 1.7 for .32 kernels and 1.8 for. 35 kernel.
2. Flash .nb0 through SUT
=> Root your stock rom
1. Install CWM depending on the kernel either. 32/.35
Tip: RC3 comes with CWM preinstalled. So you have to do this only for Sharp ROM and other .32 ROMs.
2. Install superuser through CWM.
=> Flash a custom ROM or any other .zip file
1. First make sure you have the right Kernel (.35/.32) and CWM installed depending on your kernel. This condition is very important. You might even end up soft bricking your phone if you don't do this. You've been warned!
2. Download the zip and flash through CWM after following the appropriate steps described for that particular ROM.

Some build does not have screen shots provided, so I prefer not to include them.
Anyway user can follow the links to the build and look for the screen shots in the ROM thread.

Dear friend, the reason why I asked jerrytan93 to include "XDAndroid 2.2.2 Build FRX07" in the poll was cause he listed it in the post but it is not in the poll list.
Around FRX07 there are 20 developer and I am not one of them. The only thing I did for FRX07 was to show the way to use wifi-tether, nothing more nothing less.
Best.
The poll could not be updated until 7th January 2012 at 10:00 AM. It's my mistake because I forgot to include FAT32 ROM in the poll.

Please ask your question in the ROM thread.
May I ask a simple question about general Android?
I have been using froyo on x1 for quite some time, and lately I use with joy Jerrytan ROMS, wich are...marvelous
But I was willing to try Gingebread roms...I surfed XDA and a lot of other sites, I found these:
GBX0A Gingerbread (CWM)
F1 Cyanogen (ext2 not CWM)
Gingerbread 2.3.4 (CWM)
SupersonicGB 2.3.4 (CWM)
Are these the only Gingerbread builds?
Also, ALL of these give me rebooting problems using WiFi...some earlier, some later, but once I start using WiFi the ROM is unstable and rebooting at random...any suggestion? Is there a general WiFi problem on X1 Gingerbread?
Keep up the good work XDA Devs
Does any one of these roms have a working camera because I have SenseDroid currently installed and I'm waiting for kernel update...

no there isn't support for camera, we need the camera libs (in the NAND rom there is a camera support but only in preview mode and you cannot capture a photo)

Developers are working hard on Gingerbread build but there are lots of bugs need to be solved. For this moment Froyo build is the most stable build.

Good, useful thread
You can add in these in the ICS+ section:
- Raum's 4.2.1
- Remics rom by weeo
Also add MetaIIica's name to ics+ devs since he is also a dev of PACman ROM.
It would also be good if you can separate ICS and JB roms into sub-categories of "stock ICS" and all "JB" ROMs because there are also tons of CM9 roms, which may not be needed to be added.
Cheers
hello and thanks for this thread
it can also be helpful if you add some small symbol in front of or after rom name to denote which bootloader it is for. like asterisk (*) for new bootloader and hyphen (-) for old bootloader or something like that. can be useful for new users to quickly figure out the bootloader and wont occupy much space either. thanks

ROMs include their kernel if they are not split into threads.
next edit to include rainbowing the library

Thank you very much!
Just one little mistake in the kernel section: SilmBean is only for new Bl. (not old Bl)

The owner of this thread has now been banned from xda, so unless someone else is willing to maintain the thread, this is going to become outdated pretty quickly.

I reported this thread and asked a mod to sticky the one you linked here instead.
nicholaschw got banned because he spammed nearly every section with his stupid kernels.
