RC4.1 wiped my efs so I tried restoring it through a back-up I made. Tried overwriting the new one with backup but to no avail.
Any suggestions?
Also, I want to rearrange my homescreens. E.g. I want the first page to be my main homescreen. How do I go about that?
Cheers.
What ROM was before RC4.1?
To restore a 2.3.x, your have to install a clean base first...
I'm trying to download to test it.
IMEI has been restored!
New problem, Email app doesn't seem to sync my emails from my hotmail.
And still wanting to rearrange my homescreens if possible.
Here's hoping to the re-uploaded RC4.1...

I'm having problems with wifi switching betwen states ON/OFF. Trying multiple reflashes to fix it. Did you had any problems with wifi?
I don't think you can change default home screen on stoch ICS launcher! You have to use some other launcher.

No problems with the WIFI. All working well now.
And yeah, I might have to switch to Trebuchet launcher to be able to select my default homescreen.

i couldnt do that because i didnt get a backup before so i flash gingerbread with odin and now imei is ok
So back it up now just in case! Some of these roms appear to get rid of the IMEI data and whilst it appears if you just flash GB it comes back, that might not be the case always..
WRT wifi issues; I've flashed it countless times now find that the Wifi turns on and off really quickly... Sometimes I have flashed it and thought it was working only to find that if you turn WIFI off and then on again it does not see any wifi networks. Then when I reboot, the same on-off problem returns.
So I would guess that RC4.1 is still too unstable in the WIFI area. It could be my phone of course, but how much more continuous flashing I can do I don't know...
Hi i have installed RC4.1 every thing is working perfectly but the android market doesn't open i click the icon it opens and closes again any solution ???

messaging process will appear in task killer only when you enter the Messages application and then you press Home key, leaving the application to run in background, so this is not probably the solution. i'm just saying...
On topic: did you modify the SMS settings? proxy numbers etc?

i had the same bug in stock. the first time i sent to SE to repair.
They didn't do anything, they just reinstalled the Firmware and cleaned the phone hardware.
2nd time it happened (before my x8 came from SE) i full wiped and no more problems since then.
I think it was caused by Go Launcher EX running on Stock, i don't know, but SMS only bugged when i installed it

Hi,
I have CM9 nightly installed on my SGS and it works nicely but it drains battery and internet does not work.
It worked good about 3-4 weeks but suddenly the signal strength bar (or whatever it's called) went to grey (it's normally blue) and if i try to use something what uses internet, it doesn't load anything.
Do you have the latest CM9 version?
Grey signal means you have a weak signal or does not have signal at all. Can you still send and receive SMS?
Yes i can make calls and receive sms. Signal bar is almost full. It would be almost black if have no signal.
But now it's light grey.
Did you try testing it with other phone? Just to prove that it is not your network provider's problem.

Not unless things start to force close. If they do that then you need to factory reset.
Also check your efs folder. It is possible that the data there has been scrubbed. If that's the case Odin a stock firmware with wipe efs ticked.
After that you can return to CM9.

Hello,
I have just flashed MIUI Gingerbread 2.4.20-RC3 to my GT-S5570, everything looks great, except WiFi, when I turn on WiFi, it says "Scanning" finds my WiFi and then "disconnected" and again shows "Scanning" for 1 sec and again "disconnected", what can I do?
WiFi Error
You need to revert to your old stock rom, because the drivers for WiFi aren't working. Same thing happened on my mobile phone, when I flashed it with the newer firmware. Didn't really find the solution to this problem, but solved it by going back to my old rom. Hope this helps.
You can also try typing this code into your phone: #*#*526#*#*
It might work for you.
Best of luck.

Thank you for reply.
It is working now, here is what I did: In phone settings I tried to change themes lock screen to other, but unfortunately not default lock screen was way too big (very big resolution) so I was not able to unlock my phone any more, once I found that I can do it pressing back+volume down, it helped to unlock, but MIUI was crashed and stopped working, so I had to wipe all data and cash, to reset default settings, after this, everything works great now.

the same thing was happening to me (on the same rom)>> "fixed" it by reseting the notebook-hot-spot (connectify) I use
[sometimes even a simple wi-fi turn on/off or rebooting the device would help too]
I'm posting this in order to prevent you from doing more drastic stuff :cyclops:
hope it' helps
Hey all, I installed JB a few days a go (LQ4, rooted) and it has all worked just fine until now since I can't seem to download or send MMS messages. I've tried just about everything, including changing the auto-download, using WCDMA only and so on. The APN is correct.
The weird thing is that when i try to download a MMS the cell reception just completely dies sometimes and shows me that "not available"-sign before "rebooting" or whatever and giving me back the signal. This makes me think that this problem lies deeper than a few settings in the phone, but is there anything i can try before i restore it back to gingerbread?

Have you done factory reset in recovery after flashing JB with Odin?

No, worth trying? I figured since the LQ4, as far as I know is straight from samsung it should work fine as an update without a reset.. What will I lose from the reset?

You will lose apps installed, its data, your data (not from internal memory) like phonebook etc... But you can backup apps with Titanium Backup, and other stuff too.
yo,
i tried stock, cm and vanir rom but on all i lose my network connection after time and have to reboot before i get new data network login. Is there any fix or custom rom to solve it.
Currently use vanir 4.3 stable and iodak 8,5 but i keeps losing connection.

this sound like the start of the problem i have. it started with the signal dropping and a reboot fixed it. after a few days i lost all signal and iv never been able to get it back. iv tried changing baseband gone back to stock changed the RIL and nothing has worked. ive pretty much given up on finding a fix.
i am seeing this problem pop up more and more i really hope someone is able to find a fix.
similar problem here. it happens if I leave wifi area without switching wifi off. Effect: high battery drain, sporadically network "locks" and broken sync (reddish network symbol in quick settings). I'm on cm 11 actual nightly,. tried other roms without success.
Fiddling with some settings, but only way to get a temporary fix: reboot to recovery, wipe cache an dalvik, reboot. Afterwards got sync and network (symbol white).
