The dolphin browser is the solution to the generic android browser. We don't need Chrome or Firefox when we've had dolphin. I suggest trying it out and some of its plugins that you can add. Mozilla has been trying for over a year and a half to catch up to dolphin.

I guess I could have posted this without my opinion
Hope others found this interesting as well, I can't wait to see it.
I believe google does android better.

I found the apk file under the youtube video about Chrome for Android. I thought I'd give it a shot, but it says "there is a problem parsing the package." Didn't think it would work. I am very new to smartphones so I hope someone else can figure out if there is a way to get this on gingerbread.

I upgraded and chrome is amazing for ice. I truly believe.

Now since ie9 has been released to public beta can we get a chrome2phone addon for it that would be perfect or someone try to find a work around to get it working. Thanks.

I hate to admit it, but I've been comparing the latest IE9 Beta to the latest Chrome6 Beta. IE9 (for HTML5) performance is a GOOD DEAL better on almost every site i visited (both MS and non MS sites). I estimated some of the performance tests were more than 3 times faster in IE9!
Give the tests a go here: http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/
While I am staying with Chrome for now, I will definately be tempted to go back to IE if HTML5 in Chrome does not improve.
Disclamer, it could be that the Chrome installation on my PC is no good!?!
Yeah IE has always and will always suck. I can't possibly think of any reason somebody would want to use IE when there's Firefox and Chrome (even Opera and Safari). With anything made by MS you have to spend all your time configuring it and apparently you need to go through an entire workaround just to set Google as the default search engine. Don't even attempt to tell me that you really prefer "Bing".
Actually I hate having seperate web browsers I have tried them all and I love ie especially since the ie9 beta was just released. But everyone has there own preference and mine is ie all I was wanting was chrome2phone to run on ie is their anything wrong with that.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Nothing wrong w/u'r question. I'm no longer using chrome since IE9beta rocks!
I been working all morning on trying to figure out how to create a Haddon for ie9 so we cab have ie2phone I will get it eventually once I do I need help developing a webpage for this.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Any luck yet on this? I've been using the IE9 beta, and it is sweeet. Only weakness is I really hate having to open firefox or chrome to send stuff to my EVO. We really need IE9-to-phone.
I know there's Android 2 cloud, like chrome 2 phone, but in reverse. Throwing it out there in case someone hasn't heard. I use chrome though, so can't help you there. =D G' luck.

^nice avatar, the att logo imposed over the death star, kinda acurate.
ill give fire fox a shot. i kinda like opera mini but firefox looks cool
Wrong forum. This is an app right. And there are many better browsers currently than firefox.
Just tested it, I love desktop Firefox, but this version is much slower, and is having much bigger problems with elements like Flash than default browser - it definitly has much to improve.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Ok. Just installed and tested it out. it sucks. Way slower than stock browser and flash doesnt work at all, what gives. I was hoping hulu would work. No dice. I know its just beta though oh well

Its got a nice UI, but its pretty slow right now.
Stock browser as always been the fastest and the must compatible with websites (formatting).
However, xScope comes as a very close second with great speed and functionality. The new version has a nice ui, but the free version has a watermark (xScope 6). The old paid version is now free on the developer's website however.
(these comments are based on my experiences looking for the best browser)
Stay with stock or try xscope imo

Yeah, the sync is one thing that I live by right now as I move from OSX, Ubuntu, Windows, Android it is nice to have the same thing everywhere. Marry it up with LastPass and all is rocking perfect.
I have Dolphin HD as my primary still though. Firefox will get there. I suspect that as the tablets start hitting the market, and FF4 goes mainstream we will see a huge push in this dev as there will be a huge market for it.

Need to be rooted - or you can use the Wonder Machine to sideload applications to your phone.
I think we are losing sight of the fact that this is a BETA! nowhere near the final product, I have been testing this app since pre-alpha and it has made miles of improvements, if the fixes continue at the rate they have been since it was available for download, the final product will sail

Totally agree. This product is no release candidate. Look at it for potential, not current usability.
New beta is now smoother and faster than dolphin
Still no flash, and the dumb thing restarts everytime you go into it. You lose your last webpage.
I also noticed that you can't pass url's into it (like out of an sms)
Using it sparingly now over dolphin because it's smoother. No replacement yet.
I just downloaded and installed the latest. Slow and buggy.
Uninstalled.
Will definitely try at a future time.

Chrome is horrible compared to the aosp browser

Chrome is way slower and the drawing lags badly on scrolling compared to the aosp browser. There's one to. On here that uses the aosp browser. Its so much smoother and faster. Unfortunately autorotation does not work on that ROM. Why did Google make chrome the default?

Try a rom with the stock browser. It benchmarks higher and it never has to load more of the page when scrolling.
Its the same way on the galaxy nexus. They just let you choose in that case which to use.

Unfortunately its the same garbage on this tablet. It was really stupid of Google to make chrome the default and not include the aosp browser. I tried the aosp browser and its butter smooth with zero lag. Chrome on the other hand is a complete lagfest.

Yes...Chrome definitely blows for Android. Sad really. Chrome to phone and all the syncing options are really nice, but the browser itself is just awful. Hoping Google really gives this some love soon b/c as others have said, the stock regular browser that has been on Android forever is so much nicer.
Just by watching videos, I can already tell that I hate the Chrome browser. It can have a horrendous amount of lag, and it is extremely annoying having to watch reviews that show this sub-par browsing experience when I know for a fact that all of this dreadful performance could be alleviated by switching to the AOSP browser. Google quite obviously did this to promote their browser, but it does not do good for the Nexus 7 image.
Hmm have you guys fully updated your n7's? Chrome is blazing fast for me. Haven't had a single issue with it except for Swype entering spaces after every letter in the address bar sometimes.
on my GNex, ICS Browser+ (basically stock ICS browser with some additions) was smoother than Chrome.
it crashes now on JB though.

That's because it needs the stock browser to work I think. At least that is how it works on my HTC One X. If I freeze the stock HTC browser, ICS + force closes.

Chrome is terribly choppy on the 7. Go to memebase.com and it has massive rendering issues. As long as the website isn't heavy loaded with pictures, chrome is fine.

Just wanted to let all Nexus 7 owners know...

It seems Dolphin has disabled Flash. I tried to turn it on some time back and it gave some message about HTML5 and flash causing your browser to crash. I was just reminded of this a few minutes ago and wanted to update anyone who is interested. Anyway, I had side loaded Adobe flash some time back and it is still working on Mozilla Firefox. Not sure what other browsers support it except for Frost lite. Hopefully I posted this under the right topic because all of my posts always get moved, lol. I am not rooted because I like the way everything is currently and have no real need to root. So, I guess it seems dumb for me to post this seeing most on here are probably rooted? God bless!
As you can see it no longer allows you to turn it on.

This is old news I believe, I'm fairly certain Dolphin has disabled flash for months now.
Best bet for flash is the AOSP browser. At the same time, though, I feel that if a site still uses Flash, they don't deserve my clicks

Actually Firefox is the best bet. Doesn't require flashing, and works fine.
Puffin Browser works fine with sideloaded Flash 11 and Android 4.2.1

The only thing is if you update it becomes bigger and bigger in storage usage. It already is on the "not-lite" side. I only use it for flash video. It's not my choice for browsing.

Interesting. I deleted Dolphin anyway. Never could see what all the hype was about. That fella who developed naked browser seems rather helpful. Wonder why the browser uses HTTP by default? By the way, I did ask him that question on his forum post. I am waiting for a reply. Thanks for the link!
